Barcelona Zoo is worth visiting, at least once! Its a huge place, with more than 70 different kind of animals to see!At the entrance they give you a Zoo map and it shows where each animal is.You need at least 3hours to visit all the animals, including a break at the Zoo restaurant. The prices there are not cheap but they have a food buffet full with fresh and different opinions to choose from.A few cages were empty, under construction. I didnt have the chance to see the lion or the tiger..they were asleep somewhere.I would recommend during summertime to visit the zoo early in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid the warm weather. I also recommend buying your tickets online so you can move fast during your entrance.

I was disappointed in some of the enclosures for the animals. Especially the male orangutan - could it have been to separate him from the awfully cute newborn in the other house? A lot of trip hazards when getting up to look into the enclosures. Beware and be careful! No maps were available (very greenso a bit confusing having to rely on a photo or the app. Overall it was pleasant and good value at €10.50 (senior rate!)

Long lines but fast check in. I like that you set your own pace we mapped out what we wanted to see and went from there! Learned about birds, saw gorillas & bats... overall loved it. We caught a glimpse of the lion and watched the giraffes. Kids had a park area to play great for letting parents rest. I had a blast!

This was the second time going to the zoo but first time with our toddler. We had a blast, because how could you not at a zoo? However, we went in the morning (10am openingand there was oddly no place to buy food or drinks. The restaurant doesnt open until 12:30pm and all the little food/drink stands were closed throughout the park.

Was a good experience, loads to see. Sadly no reptiles on display. All animals were sleeping or not moving at all.

Barcelona Zoo is a hidden gem.It’s located at the end of a beautiful park.It’s huge!!! It took me two hours just to walk around, even then I didn’t see everything!Some of the enclosures are small, so I couldn’t see some of the big cats, but the rest are ample for the animals.Around €24 per adult and €12 for under 12’s.Use the official zoo website to buy tickets, as they give you months to use them. The other website Tickets were just for that day. Great if your plans change last minute. Especially if it rains!Plenty of spaces for you to bring your own lunch.The zoo is perfect for a young family to visit. You can get the metro there and walk a few minutes to find it.

I think this is my 4th visit. Not sure if Im getting bored of it but it definitely didnt feel as good this time. Tickets I bought online for €21.40 which is the same price on the gate

Probably one of the worst zoo parks ive ever visited. Everything is closed or under construction... all dirty... not recommeded.

We visited Barcelona Zoo last week and it was really clean, the animals had plenty of space in their enclosures and were well looked after. We really enjoyed our visit. We saw a few animals that we havent seen before, particularly different types of birds.

We spent around 4 hours at the lovely zoo and really enjoyed out visit. It was bigger than expected and did not feel too crowded, even though there were lots of other people visiting. There was plenty of shade for us too as it was hot during our visit. The animals seem happy and well looked after, worth the 21 euro ticket price each and would recommend it to anyone visiting Barcelona.

Please do not visit Barcelona Zoo.PRO: price of entry is affordable and the staff, both on the gates and throughout the zoo itself we’re both friendly and helpful. I cannot say anything bad about the people working there.The zoo is quite big - prepare for 2-4 hours, which is a good amount of time given the relatively low cost of entry.CONS: if you love animals like I do, you will be disturbed and horrified to see how small many of the enclosures are.Gorillas, Rhinos, Brown Bears & Elephants, to name but a few, were locked inside small, cramped pens with little room to move and few toys or mental stimulants.As an example, there was a large bird that was only able to fly from one brand to the other and back again.The rhino stood inactive in a sandy pit due to the lack of space or vegetation.The seals swam continuously around a rock at the center of a small pool that took 5-10 seconds to do a 360 in.Aside from the mistreatment of the animals, most of the food stalls were closed - with the exception of one icecream stand.The map was also difficult to follow given the various winding paths.

A lot more here than we expected. You could be here for hours, so many animals and birds.Clean and spacious, we went on a Friday afternoon and not busy

Great place to spend half a day in BCN, if you bring your food you can have a nice lunch or breakfast in the picnic areas.The animals look in good condition and the exhibits are in good shape.Some areas were closed cause are on remodeling.Is has a plus side, its next to a train station 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We purchased the annual family pass for an amazing half price (normally 110€), and got straight inside! The staff were really helpful and kind. Very knowledgeable and professional.The animals are in good health and you can see well cared for. There are park rangers(?who walk around and make sure everything is in order and make sure people do not feed the animals as they have their own special diets.The restaurant is really well priced and good varied food! 👌🏼I recommend booking in advance to get a seat when you finally decide to get food otherwise a wait can be up to 5-10 minutes.This is really a wonderful zoo with ma y animals and a great family day out. Since I have the year pass and the zoo is only 10 minutes walk from my office I now have a great way to spend my lunch hour walking around the zoo 😄

If youre looking for a zoo with lots of animals to see, Barcelonas tiny zoo is probably not the best option. There werent too many exhibits and the animals were all sleepy. I dont blame them.However, if you want to experience a more relaxed, garden-like setting with a decent variety of creatures, then its worth a visit. Ive not been to a more beautiful zoo.My favorite part was the insect house, so Ill leave it up to you to judge if I am insect fanatic or if there wasnt much else to look at.

Not so big, but beautiful and feels like most of animals have enough place to live (except for big cats and gorillas). Incests were closed one hour earlier without any notice :(The price is rather high and just afterwards Ive found information that we could use discount with Goudis ticket 🤷‍♀️

The zoo is clean and educational (we have panels to get info on the species), and the plan isn’t too bad.I wouldn’t recommend visiting when it is real hot outside, animals hide in the shadows and don’t feel good, as it seemed.We feel quite close to the animals.We did not see the big felines, probably due to the heat. But no trace of the lions.The gorilla-giraffe-elephant spaces are pretty good.The playground for kids seemed nice.Bring coins for drinks dispensers.Some vendors are apparently not so happy having clients, that’s definitely something to improve.Some areas are in renovation. The delphinarium is closed.Tickets remain expensive.

Beautiful Zoo, we spent almost 5 Hours there and except the Jaguar we got to see all animals.

One of my favorite zoos in Europe. Very historic. Big and a great variety of animals.But for some reason it always starts raining when i visit lol.

Very nice Zoo. With lots of rare animals. Many of them youll not see in the middle of the day cause its super hot and theyre hiding from sun. But anyhow highly recommend

Nice located in the heart of the city. 👍 Big area of Zoo, lots of species of animals, all with little name and information boards..Our favourites were Capybara and Flamingos. Nice to spend 1/2 a day or so. Some of the animals werent out of course because if the very hot weather (more than 35 degrees. However, also thanks to the very hot weather, we had the opportunity to see how the elephants were showering themselves 🙂

This zoo is HUGE, ranging from Elefants to Penguins to Parrots to Mosquitoes.The view from the top of the Zoo is also amazing 🤩. The one downside for my visit was that it was really hard to see the animals hence the wierd angle you look from at almost every cage. I would definitely stop by here if you are in Barcelona since it is a nice experience and the park around it is also beautiful.

Third time Ive been to the zoo this year, I love the zoo and the animals but my recent trip left me thinking that I dont really agree with Zoos anymore. Some of the animals looked a bit sad (see photos attachedand a lot of just seek shelter or shade because its too hot, the Grizzly bear and Pedro the Rhino looked beyond sad. Pedro the rhino was laid in the exact same position as when we visited in 2015. 7 years of sitting there day in day out alone in a small enclosure being looked at and pointed at by humans. That is no life. I love to see them up close but I cant help but feel what we are doing to them is cruel. Personally if they must be kept then Id rather see less smaller animals and more bigger animals with much more space to roam. With lots of enrichments for them. I felt a lot of the zoo is just birds and other smaller animals, which yes they are nice but I come to the zoo to see the bigger animals and Id rather them have more space at the expense of keeping the smaller animals. In my opinion only endangered animals should be held in captivity to help preserve their existence. So I had a great day out but looking back I just left feeling that zoos need to rethink how they operate, maybe less capacity with more space for the bigger animals that need it. I mainly went to see the gorillas but Ebobo and his family spent the entire day closed away in their shelter, evrytime I have been it has also been hard to see the big cats too as they lay in shade all the time. Maybe zoos would be better off specialising in one animal group such as primates or reptiles etc. So I did enjoy my day but I now have an overwhelming feeling of guilt, the slight of poor Pedro the rhino alone is enough to warrant my review score, I dont know how those that work there can look at him everyday laid there with flies around his watery eye, it breaks my heart just looking at photos, please build him a bigger enclosure or release him and others into the wild where they belong. I now urge everyone to avoid Zoos and stop the support of keeping these animals locked up like this.

Really good zoo, all animals looked well cared for, few criticisms though, none of the vending machines take credit cards and the food service was abysmal, took ages of queuing up to get 5 meals and 3 should and would normally have gone back due to standard. Shame, all else ok.

The zoo was amazing. I love seeing when zoos try to go the extra mile for the animals. Of course some of the habitats could have been bigger and better but to me it seemed like they were really trying their best with what they got. Most all of the animals looked in very good condition and very well taken care of. I loved to see they had positive reinforcement for the animals. I think the facilities were lacking quite a bit. Overall we had a lovely time there.

Just loved it. Hugeeee place, takes 1 day full. Animals are very well taking care off, big space with green and shadows. you have restaurants to buy drinks and food. For small children there are enough green spaces and shadows to sit down with them.

Loved it so much, had so much fun! So many animals. They could definitely have better enclosures though, some of them seem to need more space or more enrichment.

This place seems like on reconstruction. Some enclosures empty and we waste a lot time guessing is there any animal inside. Giraffe didn’t go outside. And most of animals were hidden. Best of all you can see the flamingo. And there is few different families of these birds. But in my opinion this price is not ok for seeing just flamingo and few more animals. We saw elephant, giraffe, zebra, crocodile, hippopotamus and marmots with an-eater

Average zoo experience.Too sad they show that we expect to see all animals presumed but most cages are empty and no sign of them. Especially lions and monkeys.

Large zoo, pitty most of the animals were not visible probably as it was really hot outside. Also, several building works were taking place so could not visit the aquarium and dolphins. We were looking forward to seeing the big cats but with all the cages, only one was outside. TheMonkeys provided quite a bit of entertainment. The glass windows to cages was quite reflective which made viewing the animals difficult. Love a zoo visit but overall this was a meh visit for me.If you bought one of the bus 24/48 hour passes dont forget to show and see if you get a discount, we save about 30%.

Dolphins were not available. Remaining constructions were nice prepared.Excellent playgroud for kids.We have bought tickets via website. Although at 10:30 on Sunday there was not too much people.

What a great place, we could have spent many more hours here. You could see the care for the animals and the concern for protecting endangered species. Awesome place in a beautiful setting.

Less animals than when I was a child but still a great place to come with kids, its clean and well managed. And there is a big playground area for the kids.

Seemed huge, spent about 5h to see all if it, fast-forward. Some of the attractions were closed (e.g. no dolphins, no insects section and few others), elephants were in a bad shape. Interesting to see the rest though. As a tourist with limited time, Id say skipping it would not be much of a loss.

Nice zoo, good to keep your kids entertained for a whole day. They have one restaurant inside(a bit pricyand some snack places. Toilets could be cleaner, though.

Quite small but one of the best Ive been visiting. All animals are out and you can see them quite closely. The kids loved it! There is a good playground as well.

Super nice place for kids and adults. I really enjoyed that day. There were some places under maintenance like Dolphin and I couldnt find the Ostrich. However, its a very nice place.

Very nice zoo. Great service at entry. Clean and well designed. Not cheap but worth the visit.

Nice zoo, but … You can’t see dolphins and their show, due to covid-19. And there’s a lot of reconstruction going and and basically you can see only 1/2 of the zoo (while the price is not reduced).

Make sure you give it plenty of time, at least 2 hours or even 3-4 if you have never been there before, as it’s a really huge park and if an animal is asleep, you might need to get back later to see it awaken.Amazing zoo with lots of species.

We all loved it. So much to see. Don’t forget to visit the buffet restaurant (we got lunch on the way since we didn’t know it was there but the new buffet restaurant looked so nice)

spacious space and many kinds of animals. about 3 hours to enjoy. they are very concerned with animal welfare, but I think some of the space for tigers, bears, elephants is a bit small. Unable to meet operational needs. some very interesting species like penguin, flamingo, indo dragon. suitable for family and children. There is no student discount. near the sea and some other attractions. should go on sunny day to enjoy better. nice layout and design, easy to find and get around. There is only one restaurant/bar operating.

Dicent zoo, good size. I’m not sure about some cages for animals, they are little bit too small. Also tiger not look to happy. Probably because she/he is alone.

This is one of the best zoos weve ever been to. The animals have a lot of room in native like surroundings. Most of the animals seemed to have been saved from circuses or were animals needing medical care.

It is a big zoo..It took almost three hours to walk through it..It could be a lot better and cleaner! A lot of animals werent in zoo..animals like polar bears,tigers,wolves.. dolphins performance wasnt open due to covid 19.. it has a lot of other animals though! You have to walk through the gift shop to exit the zoo!

Visited this zoo post coronavirus. Very nice zoo, I enjoyed not wearing my mask 😷 in the outer areas although you have to wear your mask in any of the indoor exhibits. The zoo is a lot bigger than I expected and very spaced out so bring some comfortable sneakers/shoes. Big array of animals but didn’t have the time to check out the food. Would definitely recommend 😁👍🏽
