Barcelona Bus Turístic (Hop on Hop off Barcelona) in Barcelona
Description
Privilege
It’s cool to get to know the areas of Barcelona, one and done type of tour. The bus wasn’t full and we couldn’t get on at one stop which was nonsense. Overpriced.
MoreIf you hop on, dont dare hop off. You will not get on again, unless you want to queue for an hour.
MoreOnly due to the unbelievably rude staff member on the bus. Approx 2:30pm on 11 Nov. seriously disgusting for no particular reason. I wish I saw her name. Also, they seriously need a better queuing process at main sites such as Sagrada Familia. I can handle the queues but I can’t accept being abused for no reason.
MoreI would give this negative points, if any points at all.I dont know where people in Barcelona get their driving license from, but sure sounds like they get it from a Cracker Jack box. While its annoying nobody cares but a kid on a moppet who is willing to sacrifice his or her life, for getting a couple of seconds earlier to his/her destination. But this can hardly be expected from a professional bus driver. The upper level had all windows down, wind was making people cold, the driver drove like a 15 year old, hard breaks, hard accelerations, yanking left and right. People got sick on the bus. In the seat in front of me, there was a young boy, who was crouching like a baby ... sick, his younger sister was crying at the end of the trip. My wife was queasy and wanted to puke. You cant really watch much, on these conditions ... the driver was someone who appeared to be in a hurry to get somewhere, rather than someone with a bus load of tourists. On the tourist part, translations were not understandable ... the only language (that I know), that appeared ok, was English. Chinese language channel, often became Japanese, and visa versa. Some other languages, were spoken with a completely un-understandable accent.Despite this negative review, I would still recommend tourists to not drive in the heavy traffic in Barcelona. The tourist bus, is a better alternative. I do understand the driver, but still think the driver should have chosen a balanced, easy on the viewers driving, instead of the 10 year olds, driving their small motorcycles like maniacs.
MoreBarcelona is simply Great and this tour is a must.Out of 5 agents 4 were great, polite and helpful. This tour takes you all around the city with the advantage to come off and on wherever you like... if you time it right you can do a night tour which is also great.Muchas graaciass!!
MoreWorst bus tour I ever had - for two reasons:1. The English and German audio guides give only very little information on what the history, where should you look to spot interesting stuff to see, etc.2. Too few busses being operated - at one point we waited ~1hr for a bus although they claim that the wait should be between 20-30 minutes.Would not recommend!
MoreBus tour guide didnt watch camera monitor to make sure passengers are seated before advising driver to move. This is even though there are signs for passengers to remain seated while the bus is in motion. Attempting to get to my seat on the top deck, I almost fell twice while driver turned. When he accelerate, I banged my head on the upper deck canopy and bit my tongue to the point where it bled. Irresponsible and unsafe behavior.
MoreGood idea how discover Barcelona if you haven ´ t got a lot of time. We were there on october. During the day the buses run every 10 min.
MoreIt was ok, not great. We bought the 2 day pass and used it as a taxi once we knew where attractions were located. The routes where long and boring.
MorePoor experience. Family of 7 purchased a 2 day pass, we wont waste our time with the second day. Misleading in that many attractions were Sold Out already, were closed, or not operating. Being a group of 7 also meant we had to wait a long time as we could not all fit on the same bus. Helpful information from the staff whilst on the bus would be beneficial other than the outdated recording on poor quality head phones. Information like “this market is closed today” or “the tram no longer runs” or “the gardens are closed to the public”. Simple that would not have wasted a day of our holiday. Money and time wasted.
MoreOne thing Ive learned is that, worldwide, when you do a CitySightseeing bus, many of the audio guides will either be out of sync or broken. However, in my opinion, while its a bit annoying, its not really too much of a detriment to enjoying the trip. The route for Bus Turistic in Barcelona is 3-fold, so I highly recommend you take the 48-hour option so you can have enough time to check out all the stops. Also - be sure to ride the whole map before you get off because its important for you to see what looks interesting to you.The Bus Turistic Barcelona is very much on-time and I really appreciate that. Ive been to many other cities around the world who do hop-on-hop-off, and often times they are unreliable. Not the case here though, and I appreciate it. Its also got stops at Camp Nou, and the central train station. VERY helpful.
MoreAwful customer service. Never lose the little piece of paper they give you. Also the audio is so basic. Virtually no stories or interesting history. Just boring address descriptions. Waste of money.
MoreWe took the 2 days tour, travel with both lines, Buses are new and clean, verity of translations, stuff are nice. Longgg line in Catalunya square.
MoreTour itself is quite cool. Buses go around every 10 min on average so you can get on and off quite often. Face mask requirement is just plain stupid as on top deck no body wears it anyway (Oct 2022). Comment from the lady driver "Either you wearing it or you get off the bus" was simply rude. Park Guell stop is far from actual park. You have to walk up the hill and up the stairs despite there is a bus stop right at the park main entrance
MoreMost of the trip was a great experience but late afternoon a bunch of noisy and loud men boarded the bus and they made so much noise that we couldnt hear the soundtrack we had to get off and waited for another bus
MoreTakes you a lot of places but bring your own head phones the ones on the bus barely work
MoreUsully i like hop on hop off to get aquanted learn a couple fun things and get my bearings plus transportation but this didnt work out like that. Probably one of the worst hop on hop offs Ive been on. Takes you far from where you want to be so your stuck 2 hrs on it to get back. Most stops are not of interest some are pretty far from listed attraction. I appreciate they tried to be thorough and include alot but it was too many stops and ended up like an exspencive city bus that takes along time not many guid facts to listen to during the long uneventful ride.
MoreI really regret that I cant give any negative stars(less than 1). The bus service is beyond any kind of disappointment. The staff is very rude, no bus service between 10-12, low frequency of buses, less working hours. While on the other hand other company has great staff, more working hours (9AM to 9PM), one of the best frequency (bus in every 5 minutesliterally there is been situation when one bus havent left other is waiting in line to pick up there customers.Really disappointed with the same amount of money one can enjoy great service with other company.
MoreWaiting hours, calling the service and walking hours. On their line Map, window shows wrong location with no adress to find the hop on points. Calling 2 times the service, but no clear information. Finaly on the bus i told the sales person that i lost 6 hours, but she told me it not her problem. I just can recommend visiters to take the other company with red buse. Grey Line.
MoreOn strike don’t book. Limited buses and disappointing audio says very little. Two companies in Barcelona just by on the bus. We were locked in and regret our choice. People waiting over 30 minutes for a bus and we couldn’t do the route we wanted.
MoreHonestly, the staff were fried and rude. We have used hop on hop off in many cities. This was not a great experience, however there was also a bus strike and perhaps there are layers of issues I do not understand. Hoping folks get better working conditions and hop on hop off would win with happier customers.
MoreThe trip was endless. If you take the red route, pay attention it is 2 hours 20 minutes of your life on this planet. If you get a relaxed driver it becomes even longer. I had to get out and take a taxi to feel batter about all the waisted time. Normally i like this way of learning the city, but this route nearly killed me.
MoreThey tell you that you you get complimentary tickets to several of the sights that you are taken to but when you get there to actually claim them your tickets dont allow for it. This is a glorified bus trip and a waste of money.
MoreNot enough buses and the stops are normally 10 minutes away from the attractions. Also their app doesnt work.
MoreThis is a great way to see the city. You are able to take two different routes which run about two hours each in length. You are also provided with headphones to listen to a pre-recorded tour guide that gives you info regarding the surrounding area. My only complaint is that the headphone Jack didn’t allow for sound in one of my headphones, and that we were stopped at some of the stops for a really long time. Other than that, I recommend this tour especially if you’re in the city for a short duration but would like to see a lot.
MoreWasnt permitted to access the bus tour 11th Sept 2022 @13:50 due to not having a face mask. Not one person on the upper deck was wearing a face mask. That bus customer service person was most rude to both myself and my wife.So from having one foot on the bus it was then of to find a mask. Was back at the bus stop at 14:05 to catch the next bus........ They state every 8 to 12 minutes, we waited until 3pm and nothing. They bus stop at the port stated there woukd be no stopping at that point from 3pm.Total waist of the trip to Barcelona, very disappointed
MoreI was a reluctant traveler after 1 month on the road, so it was the best for me. It gave me a lay out of the city. Im a senior the young guy didnt even ask me. I deserve a discount, he charged €36. Too high.
MoreThe English version of the audio tour was a complete waste of time. Could not understand him with his heavy, heavy accent. Totally disregarded many points of interest on the tour. Although it was a wonderful drive through the city.
MoreGreat business idea but the worst service.Stops are far away from the attractions (the majority of them).Masks are mandatory, however there is no AC!!!! I mean…. Ok… they use AC but level 1, and that’s no ok. Stinky AF, hot, and they have no rain protection, so u get wet if u go above. The bus driver and lady on one of my buses were really mean (I’m talking about manners, not culture).Expensive tickets, no worth it! Take another tour bus company or take taxi.
MoreReally regular service, air conditioning was touch and go as to whether staff wanted it on. Some stops are really close to the attractions, other stops do not make the tour accessable for everyone as they are really far away from the places of interest (I.e the elderly or infirm). Ended up paying for taxis to get my elderly mum to the entrances of a few places after getting off the bus. The guided audio tour was not very informative and mostly music which was not very helpful, BUT the head phones are complimentary should you actually get given any
MoreRather than providing useful info on the city the commentary is 92% piped music! No insights just basic info for 20 secs in a recorded voice followed by 5 mins of music. In the afternoon it can be a scrum waiting for the next bus! Expensive tour for what it is. The app is also poor and they do not recycle the headphones so more plastic waste!
MoreA great way to get to know Barcelona. Easy online shopping. Problems with the red line 11.9. on the holiday of Catalonia. Most of the staff very friendly with the exception of Mr. Oskar in front of the Sagrada. It could operate longer than 7 p.m.
MoreI couldnt find the stop at arc triumph and walked too much. the exact point wasnt clearly written on the map nor on the app. it turns out it was at least 500mt behind the monument while there is plenty of space around it. if you ride the bus you cant see it unless you get off. it was the same with parc guell and some other stops. although there are places to stop around those points your buses drop people off very far away. the audio was mostly running very loud (louder than the script so you have to constantly adjustmusic. one wonders why you dont fill up those times with readily available wikipedia texts. Also sometimes we dont really get what the audio guide points out. a few monitors could help what architecture were being told about. i thought your app would show where we are and the live status of buses or at least the exact locations of the stops or at least the street names of those.
MoreGreat tour to take you around all the hot spots of Barcelona. I love the option of hopping on and hopping off throughout the day! I do only wish that the buses ran later into the night!
MoreHeadphones does not work. Park Guell stop its 10 min away walking on several steep streets and they dont warning you about how far it is. Last route at 7:00 pm. AC inside its not good enough.
MoreThe hop on hop off service is a good idea in theory and the service is very frequent and reliable, although the reality of the two hour tour is that you will spend in the region of an hour and a half waiting at road junctions and bus stops with nothing in particular to see. Previous reviewers have mentioned that the audio commentary is out of synch with sites of interest, which is definitely the case, and there are also long periods of repetitive muzak. Most people on the tour, including ourselves, take their headphones off and just take the opportunity to see the city. We used the blue route to get to Park Guell and one point to mention is that the bus stops quite some distance from the park, and the walk to the park entrance includes a steep climb that would be very hard on anyone with impaired mobility. In summary, the tourist bus is OK, but if you want to get to a specific destination within a reasonable amount of time, its probably cheaper and quicker to just get a taxi.
MoreGreat idea TERRIBLE experience. Tickets are pricey at £60 however are valid for 24 hours and it’s a good way to get about the city. On 6th August we went to catch a bus on the red route. As me and my boyfriend (both people of colourwere queuing, the attendant and bus driver let on a mass of non-poc people NOT wearing masks on to the bus, as we went to step on the attendant stopped us and said we couldn’t get on as we didn’t have a mask. Fair enough if masks are mandatory but not one person on the entire bus - all white people, we’re wearing a mask. After this the bus driver said no and a white man again NOT wearing a mask scooted round us and they let him on the bus!! We then tried to point this out to have the door closed in my face by the drivers literally centimetres away from my nose!! The previous day we had been round the blue route with no mask - no one else was wearing one either. I hate to bring things down to race however this is literally the only explanation for this, we then had to wait in the 40c heat for another bus. Thankfully we got let on that one with no mask and the attendant was actually really nice
MoreThe low rating is because it is not value for money. The bus goes to all the main attractions, but they are also easily accessible by public transport for a small fraction of the price. The bus is extremely hot and uncomfortable during summer. A lot of time is also wasted offboarding and onboarding passengers and the commentary is very short and not really interesting.
MoreIt was a fantastic economic trip around hole Barcelona city...we visited the most important historical attractions there. There are three service lines that goes around, one was suspended but the other two could cover most places. The bus was available at all time in each point. We like it and we will try it again in different cities.
MoreClean buses. A bit uncooperative as the driver would stop the bus on next stop as soon as the time is up without any consideration for lonely foreign tourist. No masks available on bus and they would not let u in till u have mask. The bus route is long and very slow
MoreA bit pricey for no tour guide, just a recording with ear phones for different languages. When we went to get on again after getting off for food the driver bit my head off telling me to wait. He didnt have to courtesy to say he was waiting for his colleague who checks the tickets. Very aggressive. He sped past some monuments and the guide was out of sync in some places.
MoreI have always wanted to take this bus and I took the opportunity when my mother was visiting a couple of weeks ago. We paid €30 each which we deeply regretted. We used the bus twice and managed to get a nice seat upstairs and both times were horrible. The bus is unacceptably dirty, full of garbage on the floor. The sound on the speakers is so bad that one cannot make sense of pretty much anything. The driving was horrible (the second time we took it was even worse). Finally (although understandably the company may have limited control over this), most passengers made a lot of noise (especially those with kidsas they were not truly interested in hearing anything about the monuments, but instead used the service for the fun of it or as a means of transportation. I suspect this company is popularly used by tourists who hardly ever complain but I thought it was simply unacceptable. In any case, I will be asking for a refund and hope that those responsible can do something to improve the overall customer experience. As a permanent resident of Spain, I have been visiting Barcelona almost every summer for nearly 20 years and it is a shame to see how the quality of some services, especially those related to tourism, has gotten worse.
MoreWhat an antisocial lady who works for you. She can ask in a normal way if I can put on a mask. But I havent entered the bus yet and she is already screaming put on mask put on mask. The buss registration number is 0298 LZG was around 12.30 pm.
MoreBus stops are well organized and in the city Centre with own staff at the stops. Bus rides every couple of minutes, had almost no waiting time. One star less because the information on the audio guide were delayed and could be more informativeTip: there is a great discount deal together with the metro ticket. Check out the official public transportation page
MoreThe audio is shocking on the audioguides, very poor quality especially given how much the ticket is.The bus is reasonably frequent. It stops at all the main attractions but the commentary is a waste, could be better off spending the money of the ticket on taxi fares or metro.
MoreThis tour is a complete ripoff. We got on this bus and spent the first 45 minutes going maybe 2 miles because of the close proximity of the stops. All the tours are pre-recorded. No live tour guides, all plug in headphones and listen. I watched a guy go two stops before he even realized why there was no tour guide.Horribly rude staff who denied us getting on because we had a sealed drink in our hands. Sorry but in mid summer, people will be carrying something. You may not want drinks or food consumed on your bus but carrying it is a must. Or do you want customers to dehydrate? What was described to us as being a 1.5 hr loop was over a 3 hr loop. Let me be clear, it’s impossible to see the entire city in a day on this bus. The ticket is a scam, bc there are too many stops and the time it takes to get people on and off delays the bus routes. You do not get the tour of the city you were promised and they flatly say no refunds.I rarely have seen such poor tourist traps these days but this is precisely that.
MoreBrilliant, staff very friendly, good commentary on the ear phones and great to see the city from up high.
MoreMark is the best tour guide out there for Montserrat. Look nowhere else. Gracias Mark!
MoreGreat idea but the commentary was out of sync so we missed most of the information on attractions. This made the tour hard work.
MoreWell worth the money and a great way to get to all the main sights and attractions around the city. The plug in audio guide for me could have had a bit more information with it as I seemed to be listening to hold music for the most part! And be warned the park Guell stop does have another 12 minutes walk to the park! And due to traffic allow yourself more time when planning youre day especially if you are booking for specific times.
