Barbatti in Luzern

We ate there by chance while staying in Luzern. It was so busy but they managed to give us a table. The food and service was excellent. My husband ate there a second time as I had left for London. Cant fault it and if we go to Switzerland again will definitely go back there. Sue from South Africa.

Amazing atmosphere and very friendly service !!! Not the best Italian I have had but I would give 4/5 for food. But service and wine 5/5. They have home made pasta. The location is right next to the lake. Would go there again because it’s a wonderful memory!!! !

Food, service was great with reasonable price. The location is also very practical when shopping or heading to the lake.

Great service, although our server spoke Italian, and we are trying to learn German, being new to Switzerland, so Italian was just too hard for us. But we managed, and she was actually quite lovely and attentive. The food was absolutely excellent. My husband had their lamb chops and he thought they were some of the best he had ever had.

Magnificent Location in the heart of Lucern.Our waiter was great and ugh what a parfume he wore.The Bathroom was clean and viby.The only deficit was the narrowness of the tables and stools.Will come again. Thanks.

Very nice Italian restaurant downtown Luzern. Friendly staff and great food.

Nice location and interior. Service was friendly but not as professional as could be expected from such a place. I had the octopus salad to get started. It was bland and uninteresting. Main course ordered was pasta with wild boar ragu. The pasta was correctly cooked and the sauce was ok but nothing remarkable. The wild boar meat was tough and not stewed for long enough. My partner had a tagliatelle with boletus and found a piece of packaging material in the noodles. The kitchen first delivered the wrong main course to me which was promptly corrected. Overall, this place is a long shot away from what could be expected from the interior and the price tag. Avoid.

I dont know why all the people give 5 star😐 the food was not fresh 😡 spaghetti was very oily,. Its not worth the money

Really a beautiful restaurant, the staff wos extreme professional and friendly, but the reason this is only getting 3 stars, is the food. The food is to expensive and the quality is not there. Next thing the menu, the classics are missing for an italian restaurant.

Found this place after doing my intro walking tour of Luzern for a late lunch. The beautiful individualized chandeliers and old polished wood signaled I was in for a treat. There were large Italian-speaking families gathered about the restaurant. Another signal of a good place to eat. I appreciated that they checked with the chef for gluten-free offerings. I ended up with a delightfully dressed (really freshrucola and Parmesan salad, a smaller appetizer portion for black truffle risotto (yum!and a nice glass of Italian Pinot Grigio.

Truly superb. We stumbled onto this very fine Italian restaurant by accident. What luck! Food was perfectly prepared and service gracious and attentive. The best dinner we’ve had in Lucerne.

AUSTRALIAN solo tourist dining alone, was perhaps a little neglected, but a brilliant risotto with salmon & lemon.Great ambience & atmosphere & 5 star bathroom!

We arrived at 18:00. Warm welcome, nice environment. Then, mixed grilled vegetables was provided on a hot plate, but there were only a few thin slices of not well cooked , and not well heated vegetables. Spaghetti with clams was recommended by staff, but the clams were not fresh at all. Fortunately the lamb was good~. It is the most disappointed meal during our past 3 weeks of dining experience in Europe, in term of quality of food provided

Not a welcoming place for us. We had a reservation, no warmth, nothing. We felt uncomfortable, left after a quick bite. Would not go again

Wonderful and authentic Italian on a quiet street, away from the crush of tourists. Great outdoor seating on a summer evening.

We had a fantastic evening here. The staff were attentive but not pushy and the food choices excellent. Our meals were delicious. Best meals weve had in 5 weeks of touring. Loved the atmosphere. It was a bit expensive but would come back for a special meal.

Barbatti is always a great choice. Today we only joined in for a Prosecco Apéro at the Expresso Bar and really enjoyed the company of the swiss Italian attendant with hungarian roots, whos name we dont know 😎👍

Do not come here if you’re a tourist and are Asian! I wish I read the reviews here more closely before coming here. Initially I thought we were treated poorly because we were tourists, but if you look at the reviews here, the bad reviews come from Asian tourists and are very true.The owners here in the responses keep trying to claim miscommunication, but it’s not true - we understood them very well. At the end of our meal, our sever was pushy and clearly stated that our total bill does not include “service charge” in it. I repeat he said “service charge” and not gratuity/tip.He also inputted his own gratuity charge, and when we questioned it he lowered it while repeating service charge was not included. This left us extremely confused, as all restaurant bills in Switzerland include service charge by law. His pushiness led us to sign the bill before processing what happened and leaving the restaurant extremely confused.We’re extremely unhappy and will never come back here again. I cannot believe they tried to take tourists as fools, and quite frankly this is a dishonest business. Stay far far away.

We had dinner here. Food was good but expensive although may reflect Luzern as much as anything. Good choice of dishes. Disappointed they did not have a non-smoking area but it didnt matter as there were no smokers.

While certainly not cheap, you could pay a whole lot more for the quality of food you get here even in the U.S. I had an incredible pasta special with a unique pesto and fresh octopus that was absolutely incredible. Beer and drink were quite expensive so that was quite a bit of sticker shock but thats alright. They have to make their money somehow!

Great Restaurant, Salvatore and his team are extremely attentive, professional and customer oriented. The food and the wine are excellent quality. Definitely a must when in Lucerne

Great beef dishes and risotto (I was actually pretty satisfied after a string of disappointment after having the bar set high by Venice cuttlefish risotto), overall the prices seem a bit steep for what you get especially with the portion sizes of the primi dishes, though not too far past what you would expect in general for Switzerland. 4 star mainly for the end which felt like I was being nudged toward leaving an additional tip even though VAT was included already and we had fairly standard service, not exceptional. I will highlight that this is the only place during my past two weeks in Switzerland where the credit card transaction included an option for tipping.

One of the best Italian restaurant outside Italy. A bit expensive but not unreasonable. Their Parma ham is the best. Good service and great atmosphere.

Ate here for lunch with four kids. Service was prompt and accommodating. Food was good. The scampi was great as was the spicy pasta. Some of the other choices were more average. Pretty good choice on wines!! Looking for a good lunch spot, I would try it.

Beautifully crafted sculptures add to the serenity of this nice warm italian restaurant in the middle of Zentrum Lucerne. The dishes were delicious. And the experience was amazing.

The food is great, service is reasonable, the internal deco looks premium yet cozy and comfortable. Very good choice for my lunch after a long stroll in the old town Lucerne.
