Barbarossa Restaurant - Greek restaurant in Náousa, Greece
This restaurant was recommended to us and we had a nice dinner. The food was good but the service was definitely lacking. We had a reservation which I would highly recommend. View was spectacular at sunset. A little pricey for what you get.
Great place near the fishing harbour, delicious food, and perfect service.I dont really know why many reviews are so bad.Anyway I can recommend you to visit this restaurant and try, especially their tuna tatare.
Nothing special nor food neither the restaurant , and the service not that great either , the waiter was a bit rude so we have a word to the manager and he replace him. The drink were late but they offer a new round on the house.was nice of the manager.Over priced for the place and decor and food.
Best view in Paros
Just dont go here theres way better options all around. The service is terrible we waited 2 hours for food to come. Trying to even get water or a knife and fork took forever. The waiters are too busy and they dont care about your experience. The food when it eventually arrived was actually good but very small portions.
What a great experience! The food, atmosphere and service were the highlight of our time in Paros. The best part was the Greek dancing that all of the customers took part in. Would definitely consider dining here a must to gain the full Paros experience. Looking forward to coming back!
Totally worth it! The most vivid memory of Paros you will probably have. Reserve at least a weak prior, especially if you are going during peak touristic periods!
The definition of a tourist trap. Overpriced, poor quality, rushed service. Great view but really just taking advantage of a captive audience. Do better.
Overrated. Too expensive for the amount and quality of food they serve. Slow service. People go there because after 23hs customer spin napkins in the air and you feel you are having the greatest and Greekesr time of your life…you are just spinning napkins in the air, man.
Overpriced and food too simple. The service one of the worst i have ever seen in my life. It took 1h till my food arrived. Drinks who we ordered took up to 20 minutes. Some would just simple not arrive at all.
Very nice restaurant! Very good quality of food..great chef! Wonderful spot and very fast service!
The “it” spot of Naousa. It offers the most elegant and unforgettable Greek night. The food is sublime and the staff very warm, as it should, given the expectations around it. Yes, it is pricey but totally worth it for, in my opinion, the most vivid memory of Paros you will probably have. Reserve at least a weak prior, especially if you are going during peak touristic periods!
You’d space out at some point after eating such great food! Started with scallops cooked in a delectable sauce, octopus was well-cooked, and don’t even get me started with the lobster pasta with generous potions + amazing sauce. The highlight was the banoffee pie dessert generously served on our plates.SERVICE WAS AMAZING with attentive staff. Everything was smooth sailing despite the hectic time.I don’t know about the bad reviews but three of our local friends plus previous visitors highly recommend this place and so do I.I’m sad about these reviews trying to bring down this honestly good place in such a lovingly humble town.
We went a bit early because we didnt have a reservation. They sat us happily. We ordered one Greek salad which was below average and pricey. We took some fish and wine. The tuna was burnt and the baby potatoes needed more attention during the cooking. The waiter pushed us many times to order more or leave the table as the place was getting crowded. Rude personnel and overall below average cuisine. Will try it again next year and hope that this was an one time issue.
Excellent food, wonderful service! Location is everything here!
5 stars!! Most perfect dinner watching the sunset in Naousa!
A terrible experience overall. Definitely not worth its price and would not recommend. After we had explicitly requested a table at the central space where the “glenti” takes place, we were given the one next to the toilet where we could hardly listen to the music. We were promised that we would be moved “promptly”. Instead, an hour later nobody had even come to take our order. When we noted that to the waitress she simply told us that we can leave if we want. 1/5 is generous under the circumstances.
A tourist trap like no other..AVOIDFood was bland…octopus was dry and coldFish was dry and rubber after I was told it was fresh. 90 euro fish and we could not take more than 2 bites as it was not edible.Vegetables cold…The whole meal was served cold..Service was lacking ..forgot kids orange juiceWe only realized it at the endKeep walking…230 euros wastedNice atmosphere though…
The sunset and location are great. The service and food quality was far below expectations (hectic & additional orders only on requestfor such a pricey place. I would not recommend going there as it is most touristy and you will get better quality and value elsewhere close by. (Unless you like solid hard octopus)
Extremely overrated and the food was average... We bought fish per kg and they brought the skin of it burnt. Like you could taste the burn. It also didnt taste fresh and salty but it was extremely fatty and odorless which makes me wonder if it was from the farm.... 155€/kg from the farm? Anyways, the 2 salads and 5 apettisers were tasteless and extremely expensive rating from 16-42€.... The spaggeti lobster beat everything and the champagne that was at reasonable prices. At Barbarossa we have spent 890 euros/4 people... We have had a much better night at the other restaurant, I think it was called Silvi, just up the kalderimi and next to the church.
Great restaurant, great food, great service, what else!?
I never write reviews but this definitely deserves it. We were a big party, so we booked far in advance to make sure there were no issues. They were quick with the food and service, but it was clearly rushed which was a bit unsettling. Food was good nothing crazy. The problem started after we finished the main courses. a guy who seemed to be the manager brought us a dessert menu, and told us it would be an hour for dessert so we shouldn’t even bother. We still had wine to drink and didn’t mind waiting, so we said we’d still order some. He leaves and comes back and tells us we actually can’t order dessert and have to leave because they have another party coming. We were told to go to their bar, and that if we came back in 2 hours, he would buy us a round of drinks. Keep in mind this is all happening after they had just cleaned up our plates and given us the dessert menu, and we still had almost a full bottle of wine left. Other employees came and started cleaning up our plates and taking our wine glasses which were all almost full. Imagine paying for a full bottle of wine at this overpriced restaurant and not even being able to drink it or finish your dinner in peace. Ridiculous. After all this, we came back in 2 hours and were told we needed a table to get the drinks we were promised (of course), and that there were obviously no tables for our party size. Don’t waste your money here. The goal is clearly to squeeze as many tables in the smallest amount of time, and there’s no incentive to provide any sort of good service, as you’re likely only going to go once. A new batch of tourists will come again the next day. There are so many better places on the island where you can eat in peace and get what you pay for.
Great food! Service bad. Stressed staff, and when we asked for dessert menus it to 30 minutes before we got them, and then we just asked to pay since it took so long. Took another 30 minutes before they came so we could pay. And they charge 30 euros for 2 bottles of water and bread you don’t ask for.
Except the wine everything was terrible.Octopus was unchewable ,ebi tempura was cold and tasteless,.Pretencious rushed service..We asked for a fruit plate at 09:00pm they said it was finished. The staff was rude. The boss keeps shouting around like “I’m the boss what’s your problem “.Never never again!!!Not worth a penny!!!
I did not want to go here based on all the recent reviews but friends booked and I didn’t want to be difficult. Let’s start with the view - Barbarossa gets an extra star for location! It’s truly breathtaking!!! But the entire meal was rushed! We were constantly asked to order (7.30pm booking so I understand they wanted the tablebut we had until 9.30pm and yet I constantly felt rushed! The food is average at best! My tuna was lovely but the octopus was over cooked and all the starters are very average! We were charged for 5 bottles of water when we only drank 3 and then when we tried to take the two they made us pay for they said we could only take one!!! We argued until we took both! Service is not memorable and the bill was insanely expensive for what we got!!! We don’t mind spending on food but if you compare to other places!!! It’s just not worth it! I feel they are riding on hype but there are sooo many much better restaurants now! I would not recommend!
Very nice set of tasty starters. Unfortunately overcooked fish and staff over selling and commercial. Asking for more tips. Big downer ! Still superb location.
Can t believe it. Although the food tasted good, we couldn t believe what happened. They told us we had the table just for 2 hours, we understood it , but we arrived at 2030 and they started to hurry us up at 2100 very impolitely and aggresively ( the waiter girl was nice and waiter boys too, but the manager was really really disagreable, and when we wanted to order the dessert, he lied to us telling that the fridge was broken when it was not, he was just wanting us to leave the table. It was really unpleasant. We came here on holiday and we had a very unpleasant and stressful dinner. We will never repit again, and we absolutely don t recomend it due to the manager manners and attitude ( the waiters were nice). I think nobody deserve to be treated like this, and more if we are paying a bill of 54 euros per person
Everything perfect. Food amazing ! Staff great .And because I have read the rest criticals for the cost I have to say that if someone cant afford to buy a Ferrari it doesnt mean that Ferrari is not good! It costs but it worths it in all means!!!!
Unbelievably expensive. The food was reasonably tasty but 80 euro per person was too much for it. The menu prices for tavern food were mind-blowing. The tsipouro was terrible. Stay away...
dont go here for a fun time. overpriced drinks as a condition to entry in an overcrowded club where nobody fits. rude bouncers and rude staff. ruined the island for me. oh and if you want to dance, you have to be a model glad to see misogyny is alive and well in this business!!
Not sure what all the hype is about this place.Food was fine. Incredibly average, nothing good nor bad. For the prices however it’s essentially theft. My own mistake for going for dinner - the entire crowd are all in their mid 40s + and so at some point the restaurant begins blasting out terrible music they assume will cater to their clientele, so loud it’s hard to hear the person across from you.Overall a very underwhelming experience. Wouldn’t go back for dinner.
Very expensive— yet mediocre food. The music was too loud. We requested to change table. An hour later they told us the had no other table. And the reply was not apologetic or showing empathy. It was “#* style.I understand that they want to make the most of the space but they should reconsider if placing dining tables under and next to humangous speakers.
We were recommended to come here but was warned it was pricey, however we didn’t mind coming from London. The food was good but not better than other restaurants which were much cheaper. The food came out super quick and it felt we were rushed so they could turn the table out to get another booking. There is no way they could have made the food fresh considering it came out 3 mins from ordering. When it came to dessert they said the kitchen was busy so we’d have to wait 30 mins - 1 hr so we just continued to drink our wine. Then they served the bill 5 mins after in order to rush us out. Overall I would say food is ok, but if you’re looking for a good time go elsewhere this is a tourist trap designed to turn tables quickly. Best avoid.
Everything was very good, staff, good, environment also of course. Except when we wanted to pay and told the lady to keep 4€ extra (we paid with cardshe answered that it was not worth it because that’s how much are the taxes… she said that in a rude way so we didn’t give something extra… oh no, she didn’t wanted it…
Overall underwhelming. Although a beautiful location for a sunset dinner, it feels over-hyped, given the below average quality of food and rushed service. Specifically for the prices you are paying!
Overall: 2/5Needs an extensive overhaul for this price range if they want to avoid the obvious "tourist trap" label. I enjoy spending more on a good restaurant experience, but this wasnt it. Better to spend 110 EUR / person some place else.SERVICE is a joke. Borderline arrogant and visually fed up with their work. Which I as a customer shouldnt bother with. Professional waiting staff urgently required.FOOD is nothing special. Its not that it is bad, it isnt. But its also definitely not on par with 1 or 2 Michelin star restaurants – where the pricing positions them. Its just neither creative nor exquisite enough. The AMBIENT is what it is. Some people will enjoy the liveliness of other tourists walking 1m away from them eating & some wont. It is in an extremely busy area.DESSERTS saved the experience, but just slightly though. THEY ARE ENORMOUS. Especially "seal the deal", which is just beyond understanding – why anyone would even consider serving it without a disclaimer it can feed at least 4 people.
!AVOID! Absolutely overpriced for what it is. Because of the location it attracts a lot of people. The staff is so arrogant and rude, the food is average and no value for your money. I ordered a vongole where 80% of the clams were empty. Complained, they kept making excuses and ignored us afterwards! Big mistake going here.
Lovely place by the sea with great food. The atmosphere is very pleasant, the place is elegant and i loved their tuna sushi with truffle and the lobster pasta!
We really enjoyed the food at Barbarosa! We got the spice edamame, very special taste, the mushroom risotto and the yellowfin tuna and everything was delicious! The atmosphere was also very nice and got to see the sun set behind a small island. Definitely a bit on the pricier side, but the food was absolutely delicious
Went for lunch around 1pm. Server was helpful with recommendations. Dishes we hard are listed below and we enjoyed them. Price point for the food/area were exponentially higher for like-kind locationsEbi TempuraCheese PieBarbarossa SaladTwo Sushi Rolls(Still cheap in comparison to where we are from, but for the area considerably higher)
Okay food, but way to exspensive. Our waiter was also very bad. We was very «care» and seemed like he hates his life. We had the fresh fish and it tasted yeah like fish but had the price of dry aged t bone steak. In short would not go again.
If you’re looking for a magical setting in the middle of the fishing harbor, look no further, it’s really beautiful and the food was impeccably fresh, pricey but excellent. The only thing preventing me from going 5 stars is the overzealous pushiness of the waiters. You really don’t need to fill white wine to the brim in order to upsell a second bottle.
Great ambiance and an incredibly beautiful location. I had the crayfish orzo and it was actually one of the best things I’ve ever tasted.Service was ok. They kept pouring water for us even though we didn’t order it.While I very much so enjoyed the food that I ordered, the friends who I went with thought there could be significant room for improvement given the price of the food.If you’re looking for a Mykonos vibe in Paros, this is your spot. If you’re looking for authentic Greek food at a reasonable price, this is not for you.
Premium choice at the center of Naoussa, Paros. The food was mouth-watering, everything prepared and presented to perfection. The service was kind, attentive and properly timed (not in any way rushed or annoying). I know service (and otherwisecomplaints are often here but my experience says the opposite. Do note however that I have visited off peak season, in September.
Lamb and potatoes were excellent. Truffle risotto had great flavors but slightly too al denté. Raw fish was tasty and great for sharing. Octopus was marvelous - strong flavors and cooked to a great texture. Mussels were OK, weren’t as flavorful and tasted a little fishy. Calamari was tasty. Great espresso martini
Many reviews of this place flagged bad service — but we didnt find any of that. What we did find was a beautiful, lively restaurant in the old port, with great food (try the lobster pastaand drinks to match, with no complaints about the service. This is definitely one of those places where you book ahead.
Sinfully good, located right in front of a church, after imbibing too much you can step into the church and light a candle:-the location is right at the end of the pier so quite a nice breeze. Very busy, the music is quite schizophrenic (bad dance music takes away from the lovely dishes and mood). Service is efficient and fast. Maybe a bit too crowded for these covid times ( go after 10pm, best time for us). OK, the food...choose dishes you would not usually order in a taverna...opt for the chef created dishes like mushroom risotto (divine), lobster pasta (gorgeous), smoked eggplant (brilliant), shrimp skewers (delicious), calamari (ok), free taramsalata (bland). A good bottle of local wine...3 people, total 180 euros. Overall a great night, affordable and worth the one night out. It is very pricey otherwise.
Wonderful place with tables outside on the port. The food is good, with fresh fish and the dishes were well presented. The service is helpful but slow. The restaurant is a bit expensive more than others.
Great location, good food, expected more though. The white grouper was very plain, the vegatables that came with it were excellent though. The music that was playing was mostly dance music, which is great, but not when you are eating. Some smooth dinner music would be a lot better. Last but not least: the service. The staff have little knowledge about food and how to help you with understanding dishes.
Perhaps the best location on the island, especially in late afternoon when sun sets. Dont miss it for its unique location. Apart from that its an overpriced restaurant with medium food. I will visit it again for its location, but not for its food quality. 3 stars because of its price Vs quality.
