Bar Tasende in Montevideo

Creo que es el único lugar en Montevideo que ofrece pizza al tacho como en Buenos Aires. Muy rico, muy bien atendido, rápido y bien ubicado. Los baños podrían estar mejor acondicionados pero cumplen su función.

Excelente atención , el fainá con cebolla , exquisito. La pizza riquísima.100% recomendable . Me encanta el lugar

De los lugares más antiguos de Montevideo. Muy bien ambientado. No olvidar probar la pizza al tacho famosa del lugar. No lleva salsa es masa y muzza pero con el aceite justo para un combinación bastante rica.

I loved this place for several reasons: their superb pizza, their specialty "pizza al tacho", the place is really nice, clean, it keeps its antique atmosphere, locations is great. Nothing can go wrong when choosing this place!During the nights, it gets kinda full, the best is to book in advance or arrive early.

Somos brasileiros, fomos em Julho/22. Foi o primeiro lugar que paramos e tivemos uma ótima recepção! A cerveja estava gelada e a comida estava tão boa que arrependi de não ter voltado! Não me lembro exatamente o nome do prato, apesar de parecer uma pizza a massa é diferente, meio amenteigada.. vale a pena. O local é lindo, acolhedor, e o funcionário foi simpático. Recomendo e voltaria!

They call themselves a Bar, and while you can order beer, wine and mixed drinks, this place is a famous 90 year old Pizza Parlour, just steps from the main Plaza Independencia, right behind the Executive Building where the President of Uruguay has his offices. Here you will find a place full of every imaginable demographic, families with small children, elderly couples out on Date Night, groups of college kids, and all in between. Great food, great service, reasonable prices, and all this nestled in a completely refurbished historic building with all the old world Uruguayan charm you are looking for. Enjoy!

La pizza al tacho estaba rica si pero creo que el precio no es acordé a la porción, de todas maneras recomiendo abstenerse de la pizza con salsa literal era un jugo la salsa, tal como sale de la caja.

Hace varios años este lugar siempre se destacó por su famosa "pizza al tacho", recuedo años atrás haber probado esta pizza y era una delicia, además de que la traían en un "tacho" (una especie de fuente cuadrada, grande y con bastante cantidad). En la última visita nos tocó un lugar muy apagado a lo que era antes, una pizza extremadamente salada (costó comerlay que ya no destaca en su sabor, inclusive ahora te la sirven en formato pizzeta y me resultó muy cara para la cantidad (unos 780 pesos una pizzeta que básicamente es masa y queso). Asumo que la pandemia pudo haber afectado, pero no tenían mucho de lo que aparece en su carta y eso que fuimos un sábado al mediodía cuando todavía no había casi gente. Lamentablemente el Tasende creo que perdió su magia.

Tacho is pretty good. Stick to it, the tomato sauce on the regular pizza tastes like a subpar school lunch. Nothing too special.

A travelers must! Ask for the famous "Pizza Al tacho" (white pizza with cheeseits really good with beer or soda.

OK, so the “Tacho” is a sauceless pizza: the base model is crust and mozzarella with some garlic and salt. It’s cheese bread. It’s good for what it is but it’s way overpriced. Any “local guide” writing a review here must be a friend or family member of the owner. There is no way the reviews aren’t loaded. This place is the very definition of a tourist trap. Caveat emptor!

I googled best pizza in Montevideo... and Bar Tasende came up as one of three. I was really looking forward to a good pizza in La Cuidad Vieja.It pains me to admit that this experience was far from the best pizza in town. The experience was forgetful at best. The pizza took a while to make 20-25 minutes, which was odd being we were the only ones there. That should have given me a clue. I feel bad for writing a bad review, I really do. I understand that people are trying to run a business and feed their families and to be honest I wish it would have been a good experience. The experience lacked any charm unlike the surrounding neighbourhood. This place had a wood burning over, but the crust failed to have the tell tail burn and crispy texture. It almost seemed as if they brought it in as take out from somewhere else.Disappointing.

The food is ok and the place its also ok. The table servise is on the run, moody and sloppy. I can get better pizza and better attitude in other places. Not planning to go back.

Food is ok but nothing special, prices are high for what you get. Also, we couldnt make use of our tourists benefit (-21%because they only take visa card and no other. I dont think I would reccomend.

This is a restaurant, is said to be one of the oldest pizza places in the city, it has certainly that old times vibe to it. It is suitable for the entire family but is not pet friendly. It can be a little noisy at times. They have a pizza called "pizza al tacho" that is very good and I fully recommend, you can ask for little rations of pizza or for a hole pizza. The have other foods as well.

Historic city bar. Order "Pizza al tacho" is the only thing I like to eat there and the atmosphere is good too. Go at night.

Their specialty pizza comes without tomato sauce. It’s basically dough with a lot of mozzarella on top - very greasy but nice. They have 1 waitress for ~ 30 tables so it takes a while to get your food. The interior looks like a train station waiting room. It’s a good place to have some beers with a group and enjoy a fatty snack on the side.

This place has the worst service ever! The waiter was very rude and they dont accept credit card. Dont even bother. Ohh and they charge you a million dollar for a slide of pizza.

Fantastic place, we always go there after going to the Theater or Concerts nearby. Ask for a pizza al tacho, its their signature pizza, and they have been doing it forever.
