Bar Mood Taipei - Bar in Taipei, Taiwan
Bar Mood Taipei in Taipei
Description
Fun atmosphere. A bit pricey.
Wonderful drinks, good food and attentive service. Only thing to complain is, perhaps, the bar manager or the owner spent too muuuuuuuuuuuuch effort flirting with the lady sitting next to me and my friend which was quite distracting
MoreBar mood used to be my favorite bar in Taipei, but not anymore. The drinks is not up to standard, the bartender is terrible in terms of the attitude, skills, and he doesn’t wear mask properly while making the drinks and talking to others in the same time. Understand that he needs to try the drinks before serving, however, he does that all the time. Btw, not all the servers wear masks properly as well. On top of that, the bartender asked us for last order 30 mins before times out, we didn’t order, and he asked us to paid immediately, it’s fine to pay in that time, however, his attitude is bad, it seems like he wants us to leave if we don’t want to order anything more.Overall, the price vs service and drinks quality, it’s not match at all.
MoreOne of the most recommended bar recently! The service was awesome and the drinks and food were so impressive 🥰
MoreBest cocktails in town, cool atmosphere!
Great place for western style food and amazing drinks!
Nice cocktail and food was delicious too👍🏻
Very impressive cocktails in the 400-500 NTD price range.
Top 10 bar in Taipei with a custom HIGHBALL bar by Nick Wu. Extensive drink menu that features at least 1 locally-sourced ingredient, including exotic flavors like butter, shallot, and edamame cocktails! The food is so-so, and the music didn’t quite fit the atmosphere. Nevertheless the staff were very nice and I’ll definitely be coming back!
MoreVery Good and creative cocktails. The atmosphere is quite nice too. Just a bit over price.
MoreWe made a reservation 2 weeks prior to my gf’s birthday (12/17). During the call, we were NOT informed that there’s a 2 hr limit. If that’s the case, we wouldn’t even make the reservation at the first place. Yeah, you’re famous. But not everyone would know that rule by default. If you look at all the 1 star comments, seems to me it’s definitely not the first time this happens. You ruined her BD. thx a lot =)
MoreGood food. Good drinks. Will definitely come again
Tiny over priced cocktails. Menu looks overly complicated for commonplace tastes. There are better cocktail places in Taipei.
MoreWas a bit disappointed at this place given some of the accolade they have recieved. The food was average, the drinks expensive and overly done. Im a bit of a cocktail connoisseur so was shocked when the servers and bartenders were asking me how to make a few classic cocktails I ordered. They strongly encourage you to order drinks on the menu...which are all their own creations.
MoreCool atmosphere; loved the music; unique drinks. 3 stars instead of 5 because our food was forgotten (delayedand we were still rushed out for the next reservation without finishing our food.
MorePretty decent cocktail. Creative and tasty. Pretty nice to see quite a few female bartenders who are all super professional. Impressive!
MoreDidn’t take many pics but Call of Gabriel is a really tasty drink if you love well-mixed gin and butter. And fsho I’ll order Foie Gras Turnip Cake every time as long as it’s not removed from the menu.
MoreThe environment is okay, and during the busy day, the standing bar area is available, but the layout is weird row by row. There is a side bar did not open on that day, and the area also occupies a big space. The sweet basil gin cocktail is not very outstanding for me. The flavor is like a typical gin cocktail, and the decoration is only “server hand crafted” (she made in front of usfive drops of basil oil on top.The decoration of the goji berry cognac is interesting with a goji jello on top of a well made ice rock, and the flavor is lil sweet that makes me feel I am having a dessert, but it is good overall. The servers are friendly, but they seem very busy (hard to catch them... I triedand never provide napkins to us, so I have to walk over to the bar to get napkins on my own.
MoreGreat place with cocktails infused with locally sourced ingredients. I tried two gin infused cocktails which were both good. They have alps won the Asias 50 best awards this year. Do get to have a chat with Mr. Nick, one of Taiwans most influential bartenders
MoreOne of the best bars in Taipei.
Love "sweet osmanthus blossom" but the pasta are overcooked
Great place to spend time with your friends. Absolutely great drinks and food. Make sure you reserve a seat. You can stay for 2 hrs
MoreDespite being packed, my friend and I were seated at the bar immediately and served water. The menus are packed with information of each drink including sweetness, sourness, smokiness, etc making ordering and perusing really easy. The drinks were quickly and expertly made and presented. Everything tasted solid but the “call it Gabriel” really stood out. The bathrooms are incredibly clean and supplied with pads, floss, tooth picks, and mouth wash. Would definitely come back and recommend this place to others.
MorePerfect place to hang out with a couple of friends, and will visit again especially visit on Friday night.
MoreOne of the best modern bar in Taipei. Their cocktails are not to be missed
Inventive cocktails, but only 1 of 2 tasted good, and it took more than 30 minutes to receive each drink. Then the bill included a service charge which we had been assured would not be included. Not very impressive. Full marks to the door lady though (who promptly fixed the bill— she was professional, attentive and considerate even when they were at full capacity.
MoreAwesome place really made me feel welcome! Great food, service, and cocktails. Definitely a must visit when in Taipei. Its popular with the locals so you ought to make a reso to avoid a lengthy line / weight.
MoreLove this place, their cocktail is great!!! You can find a lot of interesting cocktails here as well as an excellent and attentive service. The waitress inside even help one find the song once she notice i was shazaming the song; they even have free Taiwanese Mochi as a complimentary. Most of the staff can communicate in English, so all tourist are welcome :. Highly recommend visiting here once u come to Taipei. Reservation should be made if you come during weekend.
MoreAmazing drinks..... outstanding service and great ambiance.100% recommend the bitter melon drink, it will surprise you
Morea bit pricey , but the atmosphere, attentiveness of the waiters and waitresses, cocktails here definitely worth that price tag.
MoreDelicious cocktails and great service but somewhat on the expensive side and I didnt enjoy the interior too much. Overall a good bar but not my cup of tea.
MoreThe cocktails are OK, but the bartender and the clients here are so different from the ones in Ginza. The bartender doesn’t meet my standards: the wya he stands, makes cocktails, has conversations with clients ~~~not professional enough. The food here is cheap so I can’t complain too much though they are not delicious at all.
MoreDrinks are good but tend to be more sweet than expected. The decor feels more lounge than bar. Couch sitting area are paired with couch and stool. Not comfortable for long period of time sitting.
MoreA bit of a 2 part venue. Where one can get tea and seasonal cocktails. The owner, Nick Wu, studied under Ueno-san of Bar High 5 if Im correct. The 1st area where you enter Bar Mood is standing room only. The room is of a whiter color which gives off a lighter mood. The main area is where the bar and tables are. Probably a bar counter that can seat 8 people. The tables can probably seat 30?This area has a candle lit setting. Set for a more intimate mood. The drinks are rather unique for me. I dont encounter tea cocktails often. This was a treat for me as Taiwan makes a lot of tea. The drinks presentation is worked on. Garnish and cocktail glass game is strong. Thanks for a great time, Abby! The team here speaks good English
MoreNot spacious but there are nice food and great cocktails. Recommended!
Service staff are generally friendly and helpful but the drinks were mainly quite gimmicky. Unlike at other bars, their fanciful cocktails are "safer" bets compared to classics. Case in point: We asked for a negroni from their classic section and there was way too much campari both visually and on the palate, orange peel was neither trimmed nor the pith removed. This gimmicky-sounding drink (forgot what it was called as everything had flowery nameswas surprisingly much better. But another smoked cocktail was overpowered by cinnamon. Most drinks have complicated elements such as spirits infused with teas/herbs/fruits, soy milk etc – guess thats an on-going trend for Taipei? To be complicated, that is. The standing bar area is somewhat well thought out (shelves and racks under the counters if you have coats/bags). The seated area inside is a bit overwhelming in terms of kitchen smells. Dont need to go out of your way to visit this place.
MoreCozy atmosphere and the sofa was comfortable. Interesting and creative cocktail. One of unique and important thing is that there isnt minimum order.
MoreVery nice atmosphere, good cocktails. But dont expect much local cuisine!
Love the atmosphere and the food smells so good although I only finish two drinks there. Technically, it will look exactly like what you order from the menu. Don’t order the peach one. Which is way too sweet.
MoreGreat, interesting cocktails. Staff is friendly. Prices are high and preparation takes time but I would expect that in a place like this. Bar also has a very pleasant ambiance.
MoreGreat bar, their cocktails are well-crafted and they have a big variety. They have a lot of different flavor options, as well as a good selection of liquors. They also have a kitchen, and their food is decent. The price is a bit higher than normal, but I think it is worth it for the quality of the drinks.
MoreExcellent experience, great service, delicious food, must try their cocktails!!
Very unique cocktail selection, and some are very creative with the local tastes such as ooloong tea or Puer tea and the famous Taiwanese whisky. Very chill for relax with a drink with friends, staff are friendly and professional in answering questions about wine.
MoreGreat ambiance, and very good drinks. The night we went they werent doing a drink menu. You just told the bartender what kind of drink you want and what flavors you like and they made up something for you. Food looked really good, but we didnt have any.
MoreAtmosphere looked really professional, unfortunately some staff was not so fluent in English so my friend got a different drink she ordered. However they have good drinks, some may say small portion but worth the quality.
More創意料理,創意調酒,環境舒心,服務熱忱!太嗨失控喝了很多,結果隔天就宿醉了😅😀😂強力推薦必訪,但鈔票要帶多一點,價格也很high class !!!Very creative bar with variety of choices food, wine and cocktails!Always felt amazed while tasting every new dish! The owner really put a lot of effort to make everything perfect & everyone happy ! The open kitchen even make customers order more when seeing chef taking care of every dishes !Recommend worth to visit but be prepared would spending more compared with other bar / or restaurant ! Be sure to make a reservation before going, otherwise might full book!
MoreThis place is incredible - one of the best bars I’ve ever been to! First of all, the drink menu is absolutely beautiful and the drinks are super interesting and delicious with intriguing ingredients. The atmosphere is great, the food is also great.
MoreFantastic place. Rachel and her team are both knowledgeable and friendly with a great range of whisky and cocktails. Intimate and clean with tons of atmosphere and character. Good job and highly recommended!
MoreGreat cocktails, friendly staff, mellow decor and good music. Should become a regular spot for us.
MoreStuck up and pretentious establishment. Cant comment on the food, but if its anything like their drinks it will be boring with shallow flavors and a dash of being over-pricedArrived here on a Thursday at 10pm, was told that since it was the week before Christmas there was a minimum charge of NT 1000 per person to sit inside. Otherwise we would have to stand in the outside area which has no heat. We were tired so we just agreed since we wanted to just have one drink before heading home.First off, what restaurant has a 1000 minimum?!?! Ive never heard of this before. Not even at the fanciest of restaurants or upscale bars lounges across the world and Bar Mood definitely does not rank among them. Seems like a short-sighted money grab attempt since it was "the week before xmas" and left a truly awful taste in my mouth. Seriously, "the week before christmas" in Taiwan so you are forcing a minimum charge of 1000 per person, what kind of reasoning is that?Second, alright if you really insist on having a 1000 minimum at least set it for peak hours only. Not have it in affect at 10pm (for the entire evening until 1amon a Thursday when the restaurant is not even half full.Aside from that, service sucked, drinks are 400 each, taste bland and the atmosphere is sterile and not professional at all. For 400 dollars a drink (not including 10%I would expect much more. Much better valuable experiences to be had elsewhere! Highly do not recommend.
