Bar Mercado Atarazanas - Restaurant in Malaga, Spain
Delicious quick bite, big variety of seafood.
Loved it, lots of stalls with fresh fruit and veg. Lots of atmosphere and great paella 🥘 👏 👌 👍 😀
Great Fun location alot to taste 😋
This is a place to avoid!!! bad service, bad quality (seafood and fish served cold and too cooked), prices extraordinary high for what they serve, which often is not in accordance to what you order. Tourists are taken in a tramp... Be carefull!!!!
You might have to wait a bit but it is really worth. Pinchos are really divine!
Fan-stinking-tastic! What can I say other than treat yourself to an inexpensive, delicious and fresh meal! Minimal seasonings - just enough to enhance the fresh flavour of everything. Great service, wonderful vibe to watch the world wander by next to the Mercado. Enjoy
Great spot to have lunch! Had the prawns and they tasted so juicy, tasteful and fresh from the sea! Waiters were kind and patient (with translations etc). People come and go a lot so the tables were not that clean.
pinchos (skewersare excellent - cooked to melt in your mouth and well seasoned. gazpacho is very good, as are the oysters. everything was super fresh.
Had lots of fun drinking cold beer and eating freshly cooked seafood while standing around in the markets. The grilled octopus leg was definitely the highlight of the meal
Best place to eat amazing tapas in Málaga.I can only recommend this place. If you are visiting Málaga, you need to visit this place and try some tapas.
Great noisy bustling tapas by the market. The seafood couldn’t be fresher!
Must go if you like seafood,Half portion mixed fish is already enough for a light lunch, people are very nice and fish is super fresh.Definitely recommend!
Very fresh seafood and kind people.
Not as cheap as I would have expected but it was definitely delicious! One of the best places where I had octopus and Ive tried more than I should haha.
Casual dining, cooked to perfection. We had grilled prawns and fried calamari, alongside a red pepper salad and it was all delicious. Service quick and efficient
The food was great, but the service is really …. Shocking, the very same waitress who serves food/take food orders, literally ignored us several times when we says: Hola, even we finally got her, she took the order and walked away, no response, noOkay, nothing. We waited 30 mins for the bill and was really tempted just walk away without paying.
Bit too much hustle and bustle for my liking, but great if you like that. Food bit hit and miss. Shell bits in shucked oysters, razor clams not prepped well but a good experience. Our 4th time there and after oysters in the fish restaurant at the port served beautifully on bed of ice for €1 more, will go there in future.
I dont recommend the place if you want to have a good time. They were making huge problems about the tapas. The visit was traumatic although the food was good. Personnel was rude and was shouting.
A fantastic standing bar in the food market where you can order fresh seafood and drinks from the menu. Highly recommend the razor clams. It does get very crowded and busy but there are no reservations, so expect a wait or come at a non-busy time of day.
Inexpensive food of outstanding quality. I loved the Pulpo a la Gallega, it was very tender and balanced in spices. When we arrived, they had finished the Calamares and the Paella, so we couldnt try those dishes. They looked amazing from other more lucky customers.
Tourist trap. The “friendly” English speaking waiter will come up and recommend you to have the most unfriendly priced dish.Taste was not bad, but 90 euro for lunch is just ridiculous. Should’ve made sure to ask the price.
What to say? Best market Ive ever been to. We chose to stand and eat our meal on the counter for the full experience. Fabulous service in an environment that creates happiness. Sad we couldnt make it back on the same day for another amazing meal. Xx
Great market and awesome selection of very fresh food. If you look closely you might find some particulars ;Eating in here at the terrace is pretty expensive for what you get.
Locals place that feels a lot less touristy even though its in the heart of town. Service was nice, tapas good but standard.
So of the best seafood I tried, the octopus skewers were amazing, but everything was great. Highly recommended.
Fresh seafood at reasonable price! They accept cards and the staff is very friendly (despite the madness in peak hours). If you’re planning to eat at the table, expect to wait 5-20 minutes in peak hours. Alternatively, you can eat inside, while standing.
Very tasty see foods and tapas. This tapas bar is always very crowded. Especially at spanish lunch time. But it worth an try.
LOVE this Mercado. We were able to see the local seafood and vegetables. They were amazing. We were ae to have appetizers a d drinks at the market..highly recommended.
Best Paella I have ever had. It was so fresh and flavoursome. Their other fish tapas was also excellent quality. Its a bit hectic but if you can get yourself a spot at the bar you can order easily and the food comes out very fast.Highly recommend!
Touristic place, always full and a bit more expensive than other places.Food is good quality and the prices are clear in the menu.Service is fast and amicable.Water, bread, half portion of salad and a monkfish brochette. 9€
Both the fried and the grilled fish was fresh and delicious. I had fried squids, fried prawns, grilled octopus on a stick as well as a small beer. Only the friendliness of the waiters could be improved quite a bit.
Must visit place in Malaga. Fresh fishes and sea food. Great shrimps. Good prices and nice staff. Top👌 often crowdy. You have to wait for a table in case you wanna sit outside.
Great place! You can have a lunch of goodies of seafood quickly and inexpensively! Fast and pleasant service. Were impressed
Really excelent fish food
Good food at a good price! I had a very exaggerated lunch (I was alonefor 18 euros.
What would you expect from a food stall situated in the market? Super fresh fish, although the service was not so friendly for non-Spanish speaker.
Waited for half an hour to get a table judging by the queue that the food will be good. It was average. Dont waste your time!
Love this place. Fresh and very tasty food. Great prices!
At the beginning we were not sure if we should give it a try. Because it seemed to be one of the classical tourist spots. But we got proved wrong. Amazing food. We had several small dishes. I highly recommend the fish and seafood ones. Go and get it!
This bar is located inside the market, it is very popular with the locals, they use it as a pit stop for tapas and a drink of beer or wine while shopping around in the market, in this market, we experienced the local culture, a bit of their lifestyle, the tapas they like to eat at this bar, this place tells the story of Malaga lifestyle. If you’re visiting this market then you could stop by this bar and enjoy some delicious seafood or other types of tapas along with a drink. The quality of tapas here is good and it also provides a great value for money, we enjoyed a small break from our busy sightseeing in Malaga with a drink and a few tapas at this bar. Some of the popular tapas here are Brochettes of prawns and octopus, crispy-fried lemon-marinated Boquerones.A video review of the tapas experience is available on youtube (internationalfoodieguide).
Cheap, fast service at the bar. But there are also tables.Good food, especially the small local bell pepper and the octopus
Bar just inside the entrance to the market selling fresh seafood and lightly fried tempura style veg and pimiento pardon. Skewers of prawns, tuna or chicken also available as well as paella - although this sells out fast. Wine, beer and soft drinks available. Stand at bar and great spot to people-watch. We timed it yesterday with hundreds of basketball fans visiting Malaga. Really great friendly atmosphere between rival teams which added to the visit. Mixing with locals, fresh food and wine with a break from the sun for 5 to 10 euros - whats not to like?
Amazing food. One of the best sea food I have had in my life. Do try their prawns on stick.
Fresh ingredients and flavoursome dishes. Great way to experience the buzzing atmosphere of the market.
Amazing! Down right amazing. Tapas are fantastic. The grilled tuna and octopus is out of this world but all of it was amazing. I’ll be back! The fried baby calamari as great too. The white fish was seasoned nicely. They have seating outside and standing bar service inside. I liked standing inside. It was packed with people and lots of fun.
Great location for a restaurant. It’s located inside the main fresh, fruit and whatever you could think of market. I bet they take lots of their products from the market which means everything is fresh and tastes amazing. We tried the little fried fish with lemon, the octopus salad, very tasty and refreshing and the fried shrimps with mayo. I don’t have to say more than heavenly taste and extremely delicious. The sangria is really refreshing. You can choose everything either tapas size, medium size or normal size, depends how hungry you are.The prices are really acceptable and even if they are overloaded at lunch time every dish is served really quick. They also have outdoor seating, very close to the street but still able to enjoy your food.
great location in the market with lots of menu options! the sangria was delicious and the seafood paella was generous. definitely stop by!
Very good place to grab lunch. Very busy but Manolo had a handle on it with his queuing system. Good was great, had run out of Pulpo Gallega and the paella was not the best but the rest of it was fantastic. Best food in 3 days in Malaga this trip!
Simply excellent seafood at great prices! Extremely fresh and generous portions. Came here for an early dinner and there were still a lot of people eating at 3.30pm. Service staff was fast and friendly, food was cooked and served quickly, and drinks were cheap. If you want the seafood paella, you got to come in the morning as it runs out fast! Will visit again!
We stumbled upon this place by pure chance. A lot of locals were gathered around for a quick bite. The fish paella did not disappoint. Service is fast and attentive. Prices are very reasonable.
