Bar Malden - Pub in Atbara, Sudan
Well it got much better, took a chance and went in to see if it had in fact changed, my delight when at the bar they are serving Hobgoblin Ruby at last serving not only a bitter but one of the best bitters around, keep up the good work and see you again (with all my matesfrequently. Saw they are doing a salsa class on Monday night so half the bar area closed but didnt seem to affect capacity. 🤔 well done new management your listening to your customers 👏 👍 👌
I went for a dance class which needs improvement. The bar itself is fine. Close to rail station at one end of the main shopping street.
Visited yesterday for an Asian Curry lunch. Food excellent, and service by very attentive staff also excellent
Still dont serve any good ales
Had a drink with my sister we try to talk and there a loud crowed so we had to leave.
Good to hear their letting dogs back in
Went with family and friends , cannot recommend enough , great food all the staff where lovely , will definitely be going back
I dont usually give reviews but the asian food is fantastic and incredibly well priced. As are the pints. Plus dart board, would recommend
Had the Thai burger and it was class. Wouldn’t normally give a review but was pleasantly surprised, much nicer than you’d get in somewhere you’d pay twice the price for a wanky atmosphere. Big fan will be back often
Lovely food, great value. I had the bean burger and would highly recommend. Staff were nice and friendly, free darts a bonus 👍🏻
Excellent service by Shahid the manager came into store with issue with the customer care centre he help me with my order and resolved my problem good shop
Fantastic bar! Great food and really well kept beer! This bar is brilliant! Fantastic standards throughout! I will be coming back regularly!! Edit - the new managers have introduced a fantastic food offer - if you havent been in a while, give it another go - its great!
Visited here from Cheshire. Just love this pub which is now under new management. Friendly and hospitable staff, excellent service and reasonably priced drinks/food, and fab tunes! Will definitely be back!
Great Bar in New MaldenFriendly staff and good atmosphereThe food tastes amazing tooJust look at the photo 😋
Great service and really fair prices. Plenty of food choices available. Highly recommended!
Bar is nice but need to clean beer taps. Beer tastes disgusting
Great pub great offers great pint! The team were really friendly and we all had a great time even tried a few cocktails. They have the best Asian food as well.
Not dog friendly anymore!Food is now Asian, witch is lovely HOWEVER food is only avaliable Tuesday to Sunday 12-3 I have seen several familys walking out because there is no food.. disappointing but a slight move forward from the the previous years.
Bar malden is under new management, the staff are friendly and its a nice atmosphere. It has an Asian kitchen, the food is amazing....!
This place is pretty good, new management has given it a whole new vibe.
I tried the crispy pork belly. One thing that surprised me was that it was not spicy or strong in flavour at all! I am not sure if it was deliberate but I was expecting something with a bit more impact, I will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu.
The worst place ever all frozen foods 🙈🤮😡 I would never go back not even for a drink its disgusting honestly worst place please shut it down for goodness sake
Please either open regularly or close for good. Again arrived around 6pm on a weekday and pub closed. Arrived for the ‘New Tai’ experience which had just been launched to be told they have gone on holiday. Our town wants you and some have tried to support you but loosing patience.
First time back here in ages, I heard they have new Vietnamese pop up kitchen. The Banh Mi was amazing. Chicken and pork combined. Really fresh, tasty and recommended. Ill be back to try the other dishes - the crispy pork bowl sounds tasty. And a real bonus is that the pub staff were really friendly and it was pleasant atmosphere.
I love to come here, best pub in New Malden. Feel likes home !!!
The Mii Aisian Kitchen lunch we had at Bar Malden was amazing. 👏
One week it has beer the next it does not. Not a good way to get customers to return and It is empty for a reason. Pub across the road is packed see image
Great pub the service was excellent and friendly. Will be coming back as soon as possible. Great music
Got food poisoning from here from the hunters chicken recently, still not fully recovered, looking at it i was disappointing, but I was hungry so I ate it. Friends who I was eating with had a burger and the bun in the middle was rock hard. From pictures Ive seen on google their kitchen looks dirty so it doesnt surprise me now and I wont be returning.
A massive thank you to Becky and her team at bar Malden for hosting my grandsons 1st birthday party. The buffet was amazing!!!Our friends and family commented on how wonderful the day was. Thank you for looking after us.
Wine and beer was reasonably priced which l was quite surprised with. A nice pub for a drink after work. Also if youre a TV buff Killing Eve scene was filmed in here.
Great bar, great staff, great drinks. If you havent been here, come asap. Bar Malden, I think you are great.
Brilliant place to go have some food or a nice drink. Have been a few times with different groups for gatherings and hve always had excellent time. Staff are lovely. Just be prepared if you have and trouble using stairs that the toilets are upstairs, although there is a disabled toilet on the floor
FOOD ALLERGIES, RELIGIOUS or OPTIONAL REASONS FOR NOT EATING BEEF, MEAT OR PORK? BAR MALDEN IS NOT the place for you!Food is seriously contaminated. ALL meat, vegan, vegetarian products stored in the same freezer and in open packaging.ALL foods fried in same fryer and on same griddle. Beef and pork ( bacondefrosted on same plates and left out all day. Green kitchen mop used to clean toilets. No PPE for Kitchen operation nor for toilet cleansing duties. Think before you eat at Bar Malden. Pictures on “photos”for your information and proof. Unlike you, I do not need to lie and tell tales. Truth is there for ALL to see in the photographs. I DO NOT LIE WHERE FOOD IS CONCERNED! Maybe Im WEAK DAWN!
Well hello once more I thought it only fair that I Re- review this place as it has been taken over by a new Guvnor and the difference is striking!! The lady is a fine replacement there have been various renovations done and it made quite a good impression on me on a week day afternoon. The place is far busier than before it has some different lighting etc and serves a reasonable plate of food at great prices. The whole place has a different vibe and a much better atmosphere!! The staff are kind courteous and knowledgeable the place is on a far better level now. Though I never went up the long stairs to the toilets I have it on good advice that they are completely refurbished. I used the downstairs disabled toilet that was clean and perfectly usable. This new landlady is making a great effort here and is worthy of praise looks soon to grab its place back as the go toPub in new Malden before long. Music sessions on a Sunday afternoon and I think Friday as well. Good disabled access and a warm clean friendly environment, overall a massive improvement especially for younger people at night time weekends. Much deserved praise for a good effort by the Landlady and staff . This pub in my honest opinion is pushing its levels up so it’s an 8.6 from me maybe a touch more x
Amazing place for having a laugh with friends and family. Bar staff are lovely and very welcoming and cheap priced drinks! Would recommend to anyone who hasn’t been here yet.
A wonderful place to eat and drink that wont cost you the earth. The staff are wonderful and the new manager is amazing, she has really turned this place around. The food is delicious and the entertainment now is fab, with live DJ nights, refurbished toilets and a new dart board. Bar Malden is the hottest place to be right now.
Nice, simple pub. Wheelchair access and nice staff. Plenty of parking and easy to get to as its right next to New Malden Station. Standard pub grub, exactly what youd expect of a modern pub.
Quite a disappointing visit on Sunday where I popped in for a drink before meeting friends. Firstly they didn’t have kraken or many rums that were not in stock. I chose to go for jameson with ginger ale. Instead I was given ginger beer and the staff were quite adamant this was ginger ale when it wasn’t and said the two were the same. Bar staff are not knowledgable at all and happy to lie to consumers who are not even giving good service but on the phone and chatting away with the customers. I ended up just giving my drink to one of the customers who was with the staff members chatting and walked out. Staff member was happy to see me go disappointed knowing they did not give me what I asked for. Won’t be visiting this place again and staff really need some learning on what really is a job that does not need a lot of knowledge but customer service and respect which I did not get. Also it states staff wear masks but they do not.
Great place under new management (Dawn). The bar has been in Limbo due to previous management/Covid however I feel with her passion and charisma she is turning it back in to an nice local bar making everyone feel welcome with regular Dj nights from Friday through till Sunday. The food is tasty, service is top notch (special note to Ellen), prices are reasonable and friendly crowd. Would definitely recommend going!
Popped in for a drink, great Sunday aft/eve vibe soul & funk playing. Dawn the manageress very friendly and welcoming. Lovely staff too
Only went out for one but the vibe was a bit of me, so stayed for maybe three. If you want a place where the staff have great chat and banter Bar Malden is the place for you. Shout out to Ellen for top service.
Such a great improvement since been taken over .. Dawn has done cracking job clearing the place up .. very friendly and welcoming . Nice pub in New malden
Went to bar Malden on Tuesday, the vibe was lovely and the staff were very friendly, Dawn in particular was very welcoming, would definitely recommend going :)
I popped into Bar Malden this afternoon for a quick drink, (I have been there a few times before)and I was pleasantly surprised with all the changes that has been made. Place looked clean and well looked after and there was a lovely fresh bunch of flowers on the bar which smelt amazing and I thought was a nice touch.Dawn, who’s a new manageress, recommended me Mud House wine which I really enjoyed. She’s very friendly and made me feel really welcomed . She told me about her exciting plans for the bar and I’m most definitely looking forward to seeing this place getting back on its feet . I will be visiting again and again !!
Wish this place would sort itself out. Sometimes no beer and opening and closing times are random to say the least. Staff all good and attentive but this place needs a kick up the proverbial to put it mildly. As for advertising 3 courses Xmas dinners, wouldnt contemplate it. You couldnt be sure there would be anybody to cook it. Plus if you use the alley behind the pub the smell of stale fat would put you off. The staff who have stuck this disaster out deserve a medal. What are Marstons playing at?
A decent pub very close to the railway station so good place to meet. Menu is a bit limited with nothing adventurous. But food arrived reasonably quickly was well cooked.
SHOCKING EXPERIENCE - SHAME I HAD TO GIVE 1 STAR. Was looking forward to a nice evening with family but this place ruined it.Place was grubby at best.Went for the "Burger-with-a-slight-film-of-blue-cheese" deal where you also had a pint of bubble-free lager. After a 40 minute wait, food finally arrived minus 2 x drinks. Mentioned to rude member of staff who took pride in talking over me and insisting I had all the drinks in the deal. She had to have the last word and couldnt care less about service, so I went to the bar and asked for the manager. Same non-people friendly member of staff decided they were the most senior on site and barked at some over-worked colleague asking if she had served us our drinks. Poor hard worker said she had forgotten so I was offered the "Its been a long stressful day" line with no apology whatsoever, just a shrug of shoulders. The onion rings had literally a slither of onion and were disgusting. Chips were poor at best. Atmosphere non-existent.Tables were grime filled, no chance of you spilling your pint as it would have stuck to the table in no time.In summary, dreadful experience from start to finish, would never go back nor recommend, ruined precious family time.
The outrageous attitude of the manager hit again a new record high. Maybe a smile or a hello was too much for his pay grade. The service is below any expectation, No chitchats or common politeness, no please or thank you.We were made to feel very unwelcome, it is just a shame Marstons chose arrogant manager that fell within the other 1%.Empty bar and not friendly service, the food is reasonably priced but no one eat there! Do not ask why!Just a short walk to the Glass House Pub where a cheerful barmaid meets you and you enjoy a cold beer. Once in the Royal Oak and the barman knows my preference and served with a smile
Lovely staff in a large Sunday lunchtime pub. I had a comfortable sofa to sit on. What I didnt like was the strong smell of stale cigarette smoke mingled with a bit of a whiff of a much loved, but malodorous dog who came in with a confident attitude. I intended to eat here, but needed fresh air outside, despite the really friendly people behind the bar. The customers are not their fault !
