Bar Buvette - Restaurant in Bristol, United Kingdom
Horrible experience and apathetic staff. I sent a dish back because it wasnt nice, my friend and I who will eat anything couldnt eat it as it tasted like cat food. We were told by the staff that we still had to pay for it, even though we couldnt eat it. To quote the waitress "its not our fault if you dont like something". I wrote a letter of complaint which went unacknowledged.
Amazing food, wine of the gods and absolutely lovely staff a privilege to visit
Fab wine list and lovely atmosphere
Absolutely lovely - shame its due to close soon.
Lovely selection of food and wine in a relaxing atmosphere. Very friendly staff. One of my favourite places to spend an afternoon.
Really like this place. Delicious thoughtful food, interesting wine list, lovely ambience.
Honestly one of the best places you could ever wish to happen into and not just in Bristol. An exquisite wine list that regularly changes and a simple yet perfect assortment of authentic French food. I love this place.
My favourite spot for wine and appetisers.
Beautiful building, Great service and lovely wine
Fantastic food from a nice simple menu. Great wine choices to go with it. Waiting staff were lovely but a bit preoccupied and so left us waiting when we wanted to order. Minor point though - its a great little restaurant!
Absolutely love this little wine bar! Very knowledgable and helpful staff can find you something you’ll enjoy and you can get small plates of cheese and meat or just go for the full guilty pleasure of an excellent grilled cheese sandwich.I just wish it opened a little earlier on a Saturday!
A great urban space with wonderful food and thoughtful service. The wine selection is very good and contains some particularly unusual bottles.
Quiet place, good for a date. Great food and nice wine list
cant fault Bar Buvette the food is excellent small plates but value for money the staff are friendly and attentive excellent choice of wines and drinks would recommend this place to anyone
A wonderful French wine bar. Come if you love meat and/or cheese.
Great luttle venue for tapas and wine bur most of all dont forget the friends as all of the above work brilliantly.
The toastie is delicious. Drinks on offer are great. Menu is a bit confused
Excellent wine, lovely small plates and friendly staff.
Great place. Lovely wine, friendly service. Great for a crowd or a tinder 3rd date. Cheese plates are a triumph
While there is a nice atmosphere and polite staff, I couldnt help feeling that I was paying an awful lot for small amounts of the simplest food.Nothing I couldnt recreate for 1/10th of the price following a quick trip to Lidl.
Lovely bar/restaurant. Simple but delicious plates. Good wines/beers. Top staff. Well recommended.
Delighted. Staff here deserve a Michelin star, wine selection terrific. Food perfectly pitched. I’ve enjoyed a myriad bars and restaurants all over Bristol. This would rate near the top. Solid recommendation.
Dropped in for a night cap.Nice selection of strong continental bottled beer. Arrived after the kitchen had shut but the staff put together a great cheese board!Quaint and authentic atmosphere.
Really nice relaxing bar - food looked great
Its quite nice... But was really expensive for tiny portion!
Food was good, but generally thought it was overpriced. We asked for butter for our bread and they asked for money!
Went on a special offer thing. Brilliant cheese toastie and glass of nice wine. Nice local french cafe bar feel during the day. Did I mention how good the toastie was?
Great food. Though had the worst wine recommendation ever.
Nice place, nice food but expensive for what it is. Bristol has so much to offer that is just as nice but more reasonable. However it is worth a visit.
It started as a pop-up bar a while ago and is now offering more food platters and mains. Very well located and worth going if you like french food. I just wish theyd offer bigger cheese slices on their platters ! :)
Fantastic French restaurant serving sharing plates
This place is amazing, very French rustic, a little cramped but the cheese toastie is to die for
Lovely buzzy, bistro atmosphere, lovely selection of typically French food and wines, plus some wines from the rest of the world!
Amazing, absolutely amazing. Started as a pop-up and has now become a permanent fixture. Simple decor and food menu with great emphasis put on quality French wines. Bristols best place for a glass of wine by a long shot. Quite small so make sure you arrive in plenty of time if you want a spot.
This is a special little place that certainly offers something a bit different / better than what you would expect in such a central city location - great staff.
This is by far the best wine bar in Bristol. The staff are knowledgable and friendly. It feels like sitting in someones living room in France with a vast selection of wines and cheeses. Ask for some orange wines. Seriously.
Great food and wine in city centre location. Love the ambience too.
One of my favourite places in Bristol. Simple good food, cooked well and an excellent selection of wines.
Food was far too salty, barely palatable. Charged £20 for bringing a birthday cake, outrageous. However there was a good range of alcohol which redeemed it some what, I guess it helped numb the experience a tad.
Very interesting selection of wines on offer, good atmosphere
Short, interesting wine list. Simple, condensed menu. Great!
Best selection of natural, bio-dynamic, Pet-Nat and organic wines by the glass and bottle in Bristol. Its like stepping into a little slice if France in the centre of Bristol. Lovely and simple modern French classic plates of grub too. The place has a great ambiance to boot.
Excellent food and wine with friendly, knowledgeable staff!
Lovely bar with an interesting selection of wine. The menu is small but fantastic.
Lovely little place with a wonderful food and wine list and extremely helpful staff. The grilled cheese sandwich is like heaven and its worth going for that alone.
Transport yourself to France by visiting Bar Buvette and make sure you have the cheese toast - the best in the land. Great ambience, friendly staff and a delicious simple menu - as it should be.
Great selection of french small plates and wines.
Fantastic place to drink fantastic wine. The bar staff are knowledgeable, friendly and eager to suggest a wine that suits your drinking requirements.
What a wonderful, friendly place this is! The wine is, as youd expect from a French bar, always spot on and the food is simple but so, so tasty.
Great idea. Possibly the wrong part of town. Good with a small number of friends.
