Ons het lekker geeet daar! Was lank terug daar. Pryse was bietjie hoog!
Very good place
Outstanding food as always and excellent friendly service.
Cost, old school atmosphere with great food!
Great find in Wellington. Best cakes and Cappuccinos.
Sorry to say - We found it over priced and under stocked for the event... nothing wow to take us back...
Really enjoyed it. The food and rustic atmosphere is great.
Good food, a bit of a limited range for vegetarians. Excellent, friendly informal service and good scenery.
Nice friendly people relaxed place
Awesome place. Great food, great beer and superb service!
Awesome food. Great hosts. Fabulous atmosphere
Small restaurant but food delicious. Very friendly hosts.
Not the most friendliest service. Food was not to bad. But not on my “go back” list
Went there last night for dinner. We have been there before when it was called Oude Wellington Restaurant. Now apparently because of a merge it is called Bar bar black sheep. Its not the bistro type you can see on the photos, but the proper Oude Wellington restaurant with delicious gourmet food. For the true reviews of this place, look up the Oude Wellington restaurant page on Google maps. We had bitterballons for starter, yummy fried crust and delicious meat filling. Then I had the sirloin with Parys kaffee butter. The meat was so soft, like melting in my mouth, just like the butter on top of it.
We booked for Oude Wellington based on the ratings and arrived to find Bar Bar Black Sheep which has bad rating and rightfully so. The food that you are paying a premium on all tastes like it was made in a factory, lacking taste and any sort of excitement. The risotto wasnt cooked through and for the first time in my life I asked for salt in a restaurant as it was so insipid in flavour, the bitterballen were deepfried mush and in some cases just deepfried breadcrumbs with no mush, the samoosas were anything but lamb boboeti and tastes like they came from a bad mass produced box, and the fishcakes nothing to write home about. The only redeeming factor was the friendly waiter, although he too was hard to find even though there were only 3 tables full on the night.
Unique, interesting and good. Great for a Sunday roadtrip lunch. Food is great.
This was for me a unique experience, not that the food and the wines were the best but because they were the most unique. You arrive in a very colorful wooden house, just like an attic or a Beatles CD cover. From tables to walls, everything tells a story. In your plate, everything is local, in your glass, small producers wines with the funniest descriptions. Its always hard to find a complete wine list that will tell you whats in your glass, here once you start reading it, you could go on for each wine just as when you read a cartoon, its entertaining and instructive.Good price to quality, entertaining.
Good service (although a little slow), interesting environment. The starters we had were exceptional, especially the squid. But for the main course the pork meat balls transformed themselves into rather tasteless breaded pork chops. A serious disappointment after such a promising start. We will try it again here, but the jury is out.... Update: we came back for lunch: service slow, food very ordinary. Fishcakes dry and bland, sardines unexceptional. Sad, I thought this place had promise.
