Bar with vintage dark-wood decor and stripped floor, plus Modern European and tapas dining.
A really charming place with great food!! Awesome attentive staff too! You lot are great, Thankyou!
Mostly i order the same thing every time I come here, prawns on garlic and seafood spaghetti and it’s delicious, such a lovely staff. Recommend it for everyone who needs a delicious meal and cozy and clean place
I’m sad to say we did not enjoy our meal at Bar61. The dining room was straight from the 80’s and the food was straight from the freezer and pretty inedible! I’m always reluctant to leave a bad review but I felt obligated as the previous reviews on here are misleading.
Fantastic Spanish restaurant and tapas bar. Owner and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. No loud music so you can have a civilised conversation - a rarity with restaurants these days. A little gem in Streatham.
Super lovely staff and a delicious dinner with friends. Tapas menu was fab and they were fun staff. A local gem. Thanks Matt and Mel!
Food was nice, staff were very friendly
Delicious food, wonderful atmosphere & great service. We got tapas, would recommend the bean and chorizo stew & the muscles. Really enjoyed our evening and will absolutely be repeat customers now I have found it :)
I would definitely recommend Bar 61!! The Tapas was fantastic! Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing food (and booze!- we will definitely be back. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Visited Bar 61 yesterday and enjoyed my meal, not my first time eating at this restaurant. Not been for a while. Lovely staffs and a nice ambience would truly recommend. Bar 61. Highly price restaurant!!
Tasty tapas, wonderfully friendly staff. Great place for casual drinks or an indulgent date! ❤️
Great place for a casual and slightly boozy meal with friends. Had so much fun and such hilarious and attentive staff.
Lovely service and atmosphere. Nice food in good portions. Could do with a few more wine options by the glass. Would come again.
A family run restaurant with excellent service and a great atmosphere. There are two menus - one for tapas and the other for main dishes. We have enjoyed the main dishes several times, and this time tried the tapas - for a group of 4 or more I would recommend this as you can all try a larger variety of dishes. A free fruit selection at the end was a nice gesture too.
Went for a celebratory meal. Delicious tapas and the staff were really very friendly and attentive, like they were genuinely glad to see you. Cannot fault the experience.
Lovely meal, very friendly staff
I ordered veal escalope and what I got was a round ball of breaded veal with what tasted like cheddar and ham. The potatoes were not seasoned along with the vegetables. The cookery was very poor. The service was adequate but couldnt make up for the poor standard of the chef. I wont be eating there ever again.
Stopped in here on the way to a night out in Coulsdon and can honestly say it is the best bar in London. Superb olives, friendly staff and top craic. Looking forward to my next visit already.
Lovely place. Food outstanding, lamb chops to die for!!!! And the customer service of the brothers 2nd to none. Keep on doing what youre doing 🙏🏽👍🏾👌🏾
Just loved this place, the best waiters in London. Great, authentic tapas and a lovely dining room raised at the back. The bar at the front could be anywhere in Espania and well be making a thorough exploration of that next time. Will definitely be a next time and cant wait.
What a great place. Super friendly owners with great food. We had six tapas dishes from a very varied menu. I simply couldnt ask for anything else. You really feel like a valued customer.
Had a bottle of wine and tapas on a Friday night. Very welcoming staff and the wine was great. We had 8 plates of tapas to share and a few were very below standard. The olives and calamari were really not good but we enjoyed the Spanish omelette and chorizo. We were also given free fruit and shots at the end which was nice.
Enjoyable meal at a traditional tapas restaurant. Decent prices and good portions. Friendly, family atmosphere. House Red is good
What a friendly and nice staff. Dishes are soooo good ! Everything was perfect, thank you, ill be back soon.
A beloved Streatham group for extremely many years due to the fact the proprietors are the nicest, maximum hospitable and inviting people you can ever meet. The meals isnt always difficult but its miles authentic and the wines are thoroughly selected. If you dont have an fun nighttime right here, it is your fault!
A beloved Streatham institution for very many years because the owners are the nicest, most hospitable and welcoming people you could ever meet. The food is not elaborate but it is authentic and the wines are very well chosen. If you dont have an enjoyable evening here, its your fault!
Nice environment in the restaurant. Genuine service that look after you with just the right amount of attention when needed. Great food. Reasonable prices too.
Excellent food, 5 star service, extremely friendly staff. We had a 60th birthday lunch there and they went out of their way to treat us all very special.Definitely one of my favourite restaurants in London.
Highly recommend Bar 61. We have recently moved to the area and were very impressed. Big portions, delicious food, and great hosts. It has a very traditional family style ambience and we will definitely be visiting again
The food tasted very good, some dishes/ chutney were exceptional but, to my mind,a dish could be improved much more ( the kale salad would be preferably enjoyed warm and not cold). Finally, I would like to compliment the whole staff for their generosity, passion for what they do and friendliness: it just made my night. good job BAR 61
A lovely quaint and delightful family run restaurant. It a hidden gem. They staff are very attentive.Theres a good selection on the menu and its cooked to a very high standard. The deco is a bit dull but the standard of the service has never changed. Priced reasonably worth a visit if you in the area even pop in for a cocktail 🍸
Dont be put off by the slightly average exterior - this place is a hidden jam. The most random and welcoming decor, charming and charismatic staff who seem to know their customers by name and a totally delicious selection of tapas. Ive been several times and always leave happy.
The food was lovely and the service is top notch. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere. No rush to get you out of the restaurant. Wish there were puddings, but the complimentary liqueur at the end makes up for that. Delicious!
This was an unexpected find. A family run business that still maintains the same high values it had when launched. The quality of the ingredients and the taste of the dishes is just simply superb. We had one of the best evenings in London ! And that is saying something. Thank you to all the staff !
Wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff. The food is of excellent quality as well with the flavours being authentic! Highly recommended if you are in the area and want a Spanish treat!
very old school restaurant , full of dust and the food was just simple. Im giving 2 stars for the huge wine selection and for the service.the price was really high for what we have eat.
Service was fantastic - cheery joking around whilst being attentive to our needs. Food was great too with most of our party of 7 sharing tapas. Nice that there are main meal options for those who don’t like to share! Ask for the hazelnut liqueur as a digestif, absolutely delicious and I don’t normally like liqueurs.
This was a lovely restaurant to go to with a friend. The food was varied and delicious and very tasty sangria too. Also reasonable prices and not expensive. The staff were friendly and welcoming including getting to know us a little. We also received a fruit platter and a shot of delicious hazelnut liqueur on the house. I would definitely visit again and take my partner. Thank you for excellent service and a great experience.
Great atmosphere and all the waiters are so funny and friendly. Made us feel so welcome the whole time we ere there. The wine was brilliant and well priced, the food was so tasty and authentic. Would highly recommend. Such a nice place to go to with friendly and genuine service. Will definitely be returning!Thank you for a lovely evening Tony and the rest of the team.
Booked a table for 14 for a combined birthday dinner. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We had a huge variety of tapas which were very tasty and more than enough to satisfy us - all washed down with a few jugs of sangria. Both birthday boys were made to feel special by the staff including an unexpected birthday fruit platter with candles and sparklers. Overall, a lovely evening at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended!
Beautiful restaurant with a warm personal service and delicious Tapas.
I’ve lived in Streatham for 8 years and visited bar61 for the first time after a few personal recommendations.... and to be honest I really don’t know what to say!Did we choose the wrong items from the menu? Did we visit the wrong restaurant? We didn’t understand how this place was so highly rated and recommended..The prawns in filo pastry were like they came out of a frozen packet. The zucchini was covered in a heavy crumb so much so we weren’t even sure if there was zucchini in them. And they were just the starters! The pastas were so disappointing that a ready made meal would have tasted better; traditional carbonara is not made with cream!£65 pound for a bottle of wine, 2 starters and 2 mains was an absolute rip off! The free olives, fruit platter and liquors certainly did not make up for this.Although the staff were very friendly I certainly will not be going back..
Such a lovely experience! Great food and amazing service. Very courteous helpful and friendly staff. Complimentary platter of fruits after meals it’s a nice touch.Definitely a must try!I regret not taking pictures of the food so you can see.Very decent portions on starters and mains.
One of our familys favourite restaurants! The service is always a treat and the owner is always welcoming and telling the kids riddles/jokes. The food is absolutely delicious and the reason we keep turning up. Good value for money and child friendly too. Cant fault :)
Been to the restaurant a couple of times, and each time absolutely loved it. The food is very good (especially the tapas!)
Absolutely fantastic. Customer service, Food, Atmosphere 100%.....This is a place that you will truly love...
Ive had the tapas here a couple of times now and the dishes served cover most of the "classic" tapas options and are very fresh.Really good tapas requires good fresh produce and Bar 61 clearly make the effort to cook fresh and source produce from a good market. The pulpo here is nice, patas bravas are nice and fresh, tortilla is nice as are the sardines. Also a good range of complementary beers and friendly service. The interior needs an update but overall its really good food.
Outstanding! Great food and great service, Al Pacino doppelganger looked after us he provided first class service! Highly recommend , it has become one of my favourites tapas restaurants!!!!
Good food and great service. If you want to be looked after whilst enjoying not-average tapas. Portions are bigger than any others Ive come across in all the Spanish restaurants Ive been to. Each tapas has a unique, delicious taste and they are fairly-priced. Waiters will take care of you making sure you enjoy the dinner in an old, European style. You forget to be in London where youre just a paying customer. They do care here and want you to come back. Trust me, they succeeded. Cant wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. 4 people, 5 tapas, 1 starter, 3 glasses of wine (and liquors kindly on the house): £80. And we left satisfied, looked after and with a big smile. And the ratatouille... oh my!
Great food and atmosphere plenty to look at and very friendly staff with knowledge of the memorabilia, restaurant and the food. Try the roast beef burger well worth the money but have to loosen the belt after.
For a birthday experience, it was absolutely fantastic to be welcomed in Bar 61 as the staff were friendly to all ages! They constantly ensured that we were receiving a great service and conversation. Food was splendid and would definitely recommend going there for lunch.
