Literally the most average club. Only people that go here are freshly turned 18 year-olds and old guys that want to get with them.

A bit of a scummy hole. Will take your money at the door and arrogant misandrist women at the bar will kick you out for requesting a drink. I definitely wouldnt recommend this place if you dont like being treated like less than human by self-entitled narcissists.

Wouldve given it a 5 🌟 rating but I was probably the oldest person in that club(32), in other words its hip lol... but the sounds were good and the staff were great.

Had some fun dancing with mates and chatting with people I have never met before. The sticky floor is disgusting though and the security do their job but give off a bad vibe, I just avoided them.

Literally got kicked out for getting overheated so I dumped water on my face using the bathroom water very amazing :)

Unpleasant bouncers treated me and my friend like crooks. Showed a respectable ID which they did not accept. Immediately just saying no and then treating us like we did not exist. Try not disrespect the queen next time ay lads. Just there for a swing and jig.

Took my deaf friends there We had a good time. Cheap drinks, great service but 1 thing Im not ok with the DJ couldnt finish the full song, the music changes halfway. So annoying🤦🏽‍♀️

The songs are average just same old stuff djs not very talented no one’s tries to be creative just a bunch of loonies

I came here last Saturday and had a very unpleasant and uncomfortable experience with the staff.My friends and I had just come inside and we stopped in the disability bathroom on the way up the stairs. My sober friend used the toilet while I stood outside in the stair well (I was also sober). A girl came to clean the bathroom and I let her know someone was in there, he wont be long, and we just had small talk. Then a security guard came and also talked to the girl. It was all pretty friendly and normal but then the situation became passive aggressive. The girl said she was waiting for a guy to come out of the bathroom and the guard asked her if she has been waiting a while, she said yes she had, and the guard offered to "get him out".At this point I intervened, it had only been a minute since the girl started waiting, and my friend was just using the bathroom so there was no need to "get him out". I said he was sober just incase they thought he was throwing up. The guard started knocking on the door and I tried to stop him. I told him he was literally just peeing in there and there was nothing more to it. Then the guard said "well it doesnt normally take a guy that long to pee" and "is he your boyfriend or something". These were very unnessecary comments, and my friend is trans so obviously he isnt going to piss like a cis guy. I just said something like "hes just peeing, hes completely sober, theres nothing dodgy is going on in there. You dont have to open the door". I was pretty worried at this point because my friend was in a vulnerable position and it wouldve been very disarming if this guard suddenly burst into the bathroom.The security guard ended up opening the bathroom door and going in, but luckily my friend was coming out at the same time.You would think, that the guard and I both being sober, we would engage in a rational conversation, understand eachother, and not escalate a situation which does not need escalating. The girl cleaning didnt help with the "Ive been waiting a while" comment. This entire exchange lasted 3 minutes.Your staff members need to improve their attitude to people who come inside. Not everyone requires "dealing with".

had a positive experience here with security who escorted a guy out promptly after seeing how uncomfortable my friends and I were and checking in with us. drinks are pretty cheap too

Drinks were watered down, no one’s dancing, the music was so boring no wonder no one’s dancing. Just one table feeling the party the rest of the club feels dead. Not worth the wait and the $5 entrance. Wouldve been more fun playing a music on my phone and dancing on the street. Even the DJs feel dead. Not coming back.

This club has forever lost my patronage after last night when I had to pick up my crying partner who had been kicked out as her rushing to the bathroom was reported as her throwing up. On top of this she calmy informed staff that she was experiencing heart burn due to forgetting her medication, to which security replied "I dont care you need to leave." The nail in the coffin was denying her acess to the bathroom...

Best club ever! Went there on Friday the 13th and woke up feeling really sick though! Mustve been the $3 cruiser hangovers!

Literally the only reason this place is still open is cause of the $3 cruisers.- Always got people looking for fights outside the club- The bouncers have more muscle than brain, theyre extremely obnoxious and rude- The music hasnt been updated in god knows how long. Seriously every time Ive gone they play the same music- The bathrooms are from your worst nightmare, do they even get cleaned? Probably not.The list goes on. If youre wanting to go to town dont bother with Bar101. Just have predrinks before heading to a proper club if youre on a budget.

I found a pleasant atmosphere a well priced basic hamburger, large circular size, understandable thin patty. Although nice and very good coffee. I would recommend high heat short cook to allow for a more tender patty. A bit overcooked. Better to allow the patty to be a bit pink. Char grilling allows for this, hot charming on the outside. Perhaps you can ask if people prefer full cooking, I would warn them that that will lead to a tougher patty. I have yet to try their pizza but I am sure it will be good. Each one is done like my favourite place individually at the time. Takes a bit more time, but quality takes love and bit longer. I look forward to going back.

I like the place but I got a suggestion, they could allow the use of caps but backwards, quite annoying have to take my of. On overall, the place is great, they change the security!

I have not been for 3+ years but I went back for my mates birthday to have a good dance and drink.I have to say the vibes were amazing. The dj was full of amazing mixes, the drinks were a decent price, the bartenders were full of wonderful smiles and personalities, the security was funny and completely amazing.Hygine: The place was always up to date with cleanliness apart from the tables out the smoking area dont get cleaned down so they are left a bit sticky.People that dont like to smoke if you want fresh air best to do it out of the club down stairs as the belcony is full of smokers.Anyway my night there was amazing and will always keep coming back. That is a most definate. :)

Good place to party. Djs are awesome the club is good . Doorman and security are very rude.i was at the door and i didnt hear what the door lady had asked (she had asked me to pay the feeanyways she pushed me for no reason and that alone is unacceptable. i pushed her back and luckily the people in line had my back and told the bouncers that she had pushed me. i didn’t let it ruin my night. wouldn’t recommend

Good atmosphere, the place is clean, nice and friendly staff at the bar. The drinks are cheap and well made. But same songs in both the rooms and the securitys behavior is rude.

Great place, great memories back in the day. Music is a lot better than it used to be and staff are generally nice unless you harass them :)))

Loved the atmosphere! Basically 2 clubs in 1, with there being an up and downstairs! Prices are soo cheap especially with their $3 range. Staff were super friendly and the manager outside helped a lot.

It’s.. okay. Good for drinks. But the atmosphere is terrible.

My friends and I went out on Friday night during Re-O Week. The Tall, European (looking like Frankensteinbouncer was extremely rude when checking ID. The other bouncers were really nice besides Frankenstein.

So packed on Friday night and Saturday night hardly able to go to the bar to order a drink other than that’s its an alright club

Good place for students to have fun. Very crowded on weekends.The staff were not great and the service was bad. I guess they dont want their customers to stay at their place for a longer duration or they indirectly try to chase people after 30 minutes. The staff took mine and my friends half consumed glasses/bottles without asking us and we found it very rude.The only positive thing about this place is good music! The DJ definitely knows the pulse of the crowd and play the music.

Bar 101 seems to be the de facto student night club in AKL and every part of it shows it’s for a cheap crowd. Don’t expect any sort of glamour here, it’s cramped to a choke and utterly run down. Visiting the club’s bathroom was perhaps one of the most harrowing experiences I’ve ever had, and that’s by club standards. Cheap drinks are clearly a hit, however, the beyond-aged interior, viciously foul amenities, absurdly packed space and boring mediocre pop remixes (subjectivemakes charging a door fee here seem criminal. After the few shots I gave this spot, this would the last place for me to come back.

Kia ora whanau, back at it again with the club review. I just want to thank the cousins for all the love and support. Im going to begin with why I have given Bar 101 a 2 stars. Its simple, my experience there wasnt the best. My friends and I were treated way better than some of the more "intoxicated" attendees. People under the influence are vulnerable, so when your bouncers are pulling them to the side and making a spectacle of their condition. Its pretty shaming for that person and a real bother to see people being treated that way. The atmosphere screamed underage patrons and sex in the bathrooms. Cheap drinks, “poppy” music good for someone new to the scene but this attracts heaps of creepy guys so overall real average.

Drinks were weak AF, maybe the ugly staff lineup they have working waters down the drinks idk but place reeks of stinky male students that like showing their undies

Lets be honest, this place is a zoo but the best kind of zoo and if your into zoo animals look no further you have found your heaven.

Fun place to get a couple drinks and party! This bar is very popular with students from nearby universities, and I didn’t encounter any of the issues that others have posted about (I.e getting kicked out or refused entry). It’s a fun spot that I would consider returning to in the future!

The girl whos incharge of the entry fee better change her attitude and that judgemental face that she gives when we are still deciding whos going to pay because one of our cards got declined (no shame. Also stop rushing things cause this is the second time where you’ve given us less in change. Secondly one of your bartenders needs to stop saying no to sobers ... we just walked in an ordered our first bottles and she stopped us cause apparently laughing so hard is considered drunk. Thirdly my brother got kicked out also because he looked wasted? And he was our sober driver 😂😂😂😂 the bouncers needs a check up because they are kicking out sobers and keeping the drunks. Just because he was sitting there looking like he wasn’t having a great night. Lastly I’m still mad at that girl with the entry fee you’re so rude and judgemental. She was working on the night of 26.01.2019 Better watch yourself

Ok guys, this is a place for a cheap drink and a bit of fun. By no means a classy establishment. But yeah its alright, if your looking for a cheap night and some dancing why not, service was not to bad either

Wouldn’t waste time coming to this bar. Bar tenders are snotty and rude. Security guys are wannabe gangsters. The place was a joke. Killed our whole night. Could’ve made easy $$$ off our group of Australian miners. Oh well too bad for them.

The procedures need to be reassessed. Was sober driving so had no alcohol and i get kicked out for 30 mins? what is the point of this? The staff couldnt give an explanation. Safe to say the big group of us went to the other clubs in auckland cbd that actually make sense. Get it together Bar 101 youre going down the drain.

If you want overpriced entry with overpriced alcohol with music played over the past 20 years, possible fists thrown and perhaps on the odd chance landing some sick moves in the mosh pit. Heres the place for you!

Bar Staff are super friendly which is great. I do find that the security is lacking a bit as I had my dress pulled up while dancing by a group of guys that I do not know and security did nothing about it. I also know that bar101 has a reputation for that kind of stuff happening (my friends now have wear shorts if they want to feel safe in the club). Definitely and issue that needs to be addressed.

its aight, cheapest drinks I know of in town however the higher than average door entry makes it often not worth it

This place is mint if you are a first year uni student in Auckland! This is Also where they do the O weeks and Re-O weeks for the uni students. O week was mint!! Re-O week sucked. Poor themes for Re-O.

I know this can be really great at times but, this time not so much. The music was sub par.. upstairs was shut but despite this, the vibe and the people where definitely at that Bar 101 level. Wednesday is great for if you want a night out clubbing without the histerarior but still want the fun vibe
