Baobab Hotel - in Hwange, Zimbabwe
Baobab Hotel is the only decent lodging available in Hwange. The standards are however slowly deteriorating. The bar remains one of the best facilities around.
Good experience . Good stop over going to Vic Falls
Stopped for coffee and snacks..great service and loved the atmosphere!
Great location spectacular views
The service of the reception team can improve, one morning when I jogged in requesting for a drinks menu Noone seemed to know what that was. Quite dismissive and with no smiles, more like an inconvenience to whatever they were doing. Two male staff and two female staff. Needless to say I decided I wasnt coming for drinks here.Hotel has great views of the town though.
The renovations that have been undertaken thus far have modernised this grand old lady hotel whilst retaining the olde world charm. My room was full of light and airy, the aircon and television worked. I had 2 USB ports to charge my phone. The food was very very good with a surprisingly wide menu. And of course the view of Hwange town from beneath the Baobab tree was spectacular as always.
Unless you don’t have to don’t stop. Very over priced, ugly rooms with smells and bad furniture. It shouldn’t cost more than 30 dollars per night for what it offers. Staff very friendly though!
Pool is clean. Good service. Beautiful hotel rooms with security. Majestic view of the City of Hwange. Food is amazing... Platters and Braai Meal I suggest you go for.
Nice place and the menu is good
Greatview especially at night 🌃
Not bad. Service is poor though. Should improve on service
Only stopped over for a cold drink service good location good
You need to try out the Burger 🍔 from this hotel. Lovely place.
Its good and environmental friendly
Its very smart, clean and beautiful
The best burger 🍔 I have eaten ever...Its an amazing place, with a killer view over the whole hwange town
Compared to where it is located I can safely say the best
Great menu. The view is spectacular as well.
The garden is really nice, with a beautiful baobab tree, giving you the truly African feeling. You also get a birds eye view of the surrounding spread out below. The staff is very welcoming, friendly and go out of their way to be of assistance. And you also get a beautiful welcome from the inquisitive monkeys right at the car park! A must visit.
Serenity mixed with natural configuration. They have a light house where you can stand and view into the soul of the town of Hwange
A beautiful place perched on a hill. Ideal citing to enjoy the serenity of Hwange. Very friendly staff, thank you for the hospitality
You can see a view of Hwange from the viewpoint. A charming little hotel
One of the few hotels in Hwange. Fairly good for the area. The view is great.
You can see Hwange Town from the viewpoint at the Hotel. Quiet environment too.
Excellent view of surroundings from the view point. Well maintained
Well placed, but can do with a bit of sprucing up, staff can be more lively and menu definitely needs overhaul.
The view from the Hotel is breath taking, you can actually see the while town from the Hotel
It has spectacular view of Hwange. Its at the pinnacle. Refurbished rooms and air-conditioned, on point👌
Good clean rooms. Nice bar but the food could be a lot better
Good staff. Nice bar and catering. Good beds
Spectacular view and the Baobab itself were the Hotel derives its name is quite historic. The rooms are great and the breakfast was good
Well despite the servicesbeing slow and the safe guard men being nosy n pokey the food is quite good. The place is presentable n neat.More waiters seem to be in demand to speed up work
The property is poorly managed.I was really disappointed with the lack of quality and cleanliness provided by this hotel. It is a quiet place with the best view of the mining town.
The rooms really need renovation, its now a bit outdated. Just stayed there one night and that was enough. I didnt get to taste any of their food. Otherwise its nicely situated on a hill and the view is lovely from the top, there is a nice pool too.
Used to be beautiful and very upmarket. Only smart area was the foyer.... Their bed prices are peculiar and very expensive for what you get. It is a rundown dump charging 5 star USD. Gave us a room where they are renovating, so walked a stripped dirty passage to the old, cheap looking room. Only one mosquito net over the double bed, none over the 3/4 bed! No bedside lamps. Broken showerhead. Woken up to loud workmens voices in the corridor, then chipping off of tiles until we left.
This is the worst hotel Ive ever been in, they dont take the hospitality industry seriously. Some of their staff seem confused and take unnecessarily long to check you in.The rooms are decent looking but the beds are not comfortable. The bathrooms are terrible and appalling and need some major maintenance (see the pics attached)They really need to improve on their overall service delivery otherwise theyll run the hotel into the ground or maybe its because theres not much competition???
Service is not good yet. Some opportunities for improvement include turn around time for meals and prices are way too high compared to the service rendered. prices higher than like hotels in resorts.Breakfast is, however, ok. although overpriced as well.
Nice place to hang out were u can see e whole town
Beautiful views, slow and calm with an easy breeze. Great place to take a break
One of the oldest Hotel in Hwange located right on top of a hill with amazing scenic views. Still well maintained, clean and standard rooms. Usually busy during weekends, an easy way of interacting with the locals. The climax of my visit was this gigantic Baobab tree - simply breath-taking.
A 3 star hotel on Baobab Hill in Hwange, with an observation platform that has great views of the town, including the giant Hwange Power Station and Colliery can be seen in the distance. Excellent accommodation, a bar and restaurant that serves among other dishes the popular Tshisanyama. A recently refurbished pool is open
A bit run down, food is ok but takes a bit of waiting, staff not really keen on serving.
Good scenic view, bbq plates are ok, weekend they have outdoor bar and music
For $70 per day this is really not worth it.Please check and compare your institution with the Rainbow Towers at $69 per night. This is a rip-off and a $30 to $40 venue. I hope you get your prices aligned with what you are offering.
It is indeed a chilled place where you can enjoy a drink in the evenings outside. Quiet. Kept clean and very accommodating staff. No formal wheelchair facilities, but they would be willing to make a plan at the drop of a hat. Its the best place in this village.
The hotel has a great view overlooking the town. Its a chilled spot for catching drinks with friends and family
The service is poor. You wait on end in the garden just to be attended to. Place does not accept cards. Rooms need improving with air conditioning and thorough cleaning. Furniture needs attention both in the rooms and conference facili8
it is a old hotel without charm and overpriced. $ 90 for any room that is more expensive than Victoria Falls. Do not expect a swim in the pool there is more water for a long time. A leak !!!
Very nice facilities. Good food. Thumbs up to the manager and his team.
But the workers should know that its a work place especially the bar lady behaves as if customers are burgers of beer, shes very rude.
