Bangkok Spice Restaurant - Thai restaurant in Monroe, United States
Bangkok Spice Restaurant in Monroe
Description
Privilege
I am reviewing this restaurant because I believe everyone in this area needs to know they DO have options. I, currently, live in Houston and Monroe which I spend equal amounts of time. Now I dont expect to find the exact same variety and quality food here as I do in Houston however its been challenging to find restaurants in this area that are "not a disappointment". My boyfriend and I decided to give this place a shot as the reviews were good but that doesnt always mean anything either. We went in to the restaurant to look at the menu, ask questions, and place an order to go. The lady that greeted us was very nice, helpful, and seemed eager to want to help us figure out what we wanted. We ordered the Pho but had them do chicken instead of beef. It was very good which I was pleasantly surprised. We also had spring rolls and their Pad Thai Shrimp. Again, pleasantly surprised. Now if youve had Vietnamese food in NYC, San Francisco, Houston or even out of the country, please keep this review in mind. This restaurant is the best Ive found in this area for options other than fast food and your basic "American chinese" favorites around town.Give it a shot! I dont think you will be disappointed. I will definitely be back and will try something different next time. Good job Bangkok Spice! Keep up the good work!!!!!
MoreI visited this restaurant while away on business. Overall, the service was prompt and friendly, and the food was mostly very good.I ordered the spring rolls to start. Overall, they were fresh, and paired nicely with the sauces. For my entree, I ordered the ginger tofu dish. Note that the waitress asked if I was vegan, which was thoughtful on her part. The entree came with a salad. I did not enjoy the house dressing. However, that was only a minor issue.I received my entree promptly, and it was delicious. The portion size was substantial as well.Overall, the experience was very good; highly recommended if you are in the West Monroe area and looking for vegetarian / pescatarian options.
MoreThe spring rolls werent super fresh and they had crab instead of shrimp so I wasnt a fan. The entree was a good portion and cooked perfectly. Good service. The restaurant is too dark, like I had trouble reading the menu lol. Overall a good experience with good quality food.
MoreGreat Tom Kha Kai. My favorite is the fried fish with yellow curry. Really excellent food and if you are trying to eat vegan or vegetarian only they have a few options.
MoreThis place is a small local restaurant for good cheap food
Amazing food and great service. One of our favorites for a reason. Pad Kee Mow, Teriyaki Chicken, Siam Special, Volcano Roll are some of our favorites. Never disappoints.
MoreFood was delicious and the staff was prompt and courteous!
The food and service were excellent.
Here for work and not feeling well and just wanred some spicy broth and noodles. I ordered the red curry and subbed rice noodles and it was exactly what I needed! Im from Baton Rouge or I would come back weekly!
MoreIt was very good. You gotta try the Crawfish Fried rice
I had the regular pho. The bowl was really big for regular, but it was good.My friend ordered other plates that looked really good as well.Id recommend this restaurant.
MoreService was good. I was a little disappointed with the food, especially at the prices. Expected a fresh tasting meal, but the egg rolls were chewy & the Moo Goo Gai Pan broth seemed very thickened with cornstarch.
MoreThe waitress was great and the establishment was surprisingly clean for a "tucked in the back shack." Not a fan of Thai food though, it was a first for me 🤷♀️
MoreHad the yellow curry, it was good. The kids had California Rolls, they said the rolls where similar to the ones they have had in California. Also ordered two orders of spring rolls, they were actually smaller than I expected. Wish you had the ones with beef.Overall the Thai food was good. When youve eaten Thai food in California, its difficult to beat.
MoreMy daughter found this place for us and we love it!! No buffett..order off menu..have great sushi and big bowls of different types of soups..
MoreSuper friendly and helpful with cooking to order for vegans & vegetarians. Delicious and quick.
MoreI ate half bf I remembered tooooo do this lol but I Love the snowball roll!! They make the best sushi in town!! The women that works at the bar is always so sweet and a great worker!🥰
MoreMy family and I eat here about once a month. Always an enjoyable experience.
The red spicy curry was great. Their portions was on point. Prices are not bad for the quality of food you get. The establishment was clean. There was only one waitress and she was not able to adequately keep up at the end of dinner. If staff was able to keep up. I would have given 5 stars.
MoreThe food was delicious. The timing was off but i have to say Id go back. If you get the larb. Ask for double lettuce instead of the cucumber.
MoreNever been here for lunch, we go evenings because we live an hour away but the quality of this place is always the same Im sure. Great, friendly, accommodating service, outstanding food and a wide variety of dishes. Weve been here dozens of times. Never ever been disappointed.
MoreThis place never disappoints. Been going constantly for almost 2 years now. Delicious every time. Bangkok Fried Rice might be the best thing on the menu!
MoreThe service and communication is lacking severely. Bar tender on Saturday night was killing the vibe! I could hear her complaining about things the whole time from my table and when it was time to go the to-go order wasn’t even ready bc they forgot and then tried to waste my time for their mistake. Very rude bartender and careless waiters.
MoreIts more American made Chinese food restaurant the ladies were nice but the food wasnt done all the way and they didnt have small soups at all they also dont have wonton soup they are also pricey this was our first time there but we wont be going back good luck yall
MoreOne of the better asian food places in the area. The order was ready on time, the food was phenomenal, the service was nice, and everything we needed was in the bag when we left.
MoreThis is one of the best Asian restaurants in Northeast Louisiana. The food is always amazing and the service is always good. Me and my family go here every chance we get.
MoreIt was once a pretty good place to eat. Last night, everything was bland. The thai hot pad thai was mild with overcooked noodles, and the medium pad thai was flavorless.
MoreGreat quality food-freshly cooked dishes-friendly staff -Really reasonable prices- quick service-clean establishment- laid back atmosphere with perfect ambient lighting ....One of those hidden gem restaurants people shouldn’t miss out on!!
MoreTruly the best Chinese food Ive ever had. I always say Ill take leftovers home, but I cant stop eating and its a big plate of food! Great prices too. Very casual.
MoreI love their pho. It tastes fresh, the spices are very packed with hearty flavor. I suggest adding everything it comes with on the dressing plate, and a pinch of both the sauces. Very umami- very filling very good for you. Ive tried a lot of other places pho and they just dont compare, it isnt the same or they are poor versions of it. Id also recommend any of the soups. Very authentic food, very good quality. The seafood pot is definitely for two people I believe unless you are absolutely starved. Id also recommend any of the curry dishes although the yellow curry with chicken is my favorite. It is a subtle taste that is good for beginners that arent used to different cultures dishes. All in all great food great prices great service.
MoreOkay so maybe I would like them to kick up the AC but as far as food? Its amazing. Most everything taste fresh aside from a few things here and there. And whenever they make you wait for something that just means it taste twice as good when it comes out. If you like spicy food ask for it tie hot because they will not disappoint. The sushi is on point even though the selection is limited. The curry is one of my favorites and I order the red curry with chicken Thai hot most of the time. If you like pho, then they got you covered there too.
MoreI absolutely love the food!
A local spot good flavor. I would advise diners to eat something or try a new item . High tier spring rolls. Filled with salad . The kids get the basil fried rice . I can eat the whole menu . Pho and the seafood hot pot r my favs
MoreThis place had some great food and sushi in town that weve found since our restaurant. The group of us had a great server because she was very attentive and easy to get along with. We will definitely be back soon!
MoreThis is one of the best small restaurants in town. Everyone is so nice ,food is great . Always coming back agin good food good drinks and cozy atmosphere. Keep it up !
MoreLoved the food. Spring rolls are spot on. Flavors of food were great, not too spicy. The triple delight brings back memories of another favorite place I frequented on the East Coast. Pricing is slightly expensive, but well worth it as you get what you pay for. If I visit West Monroe, I would love to return to enjoy and try other dishes served. Oh, loved the sushi also. The people are friendly. I tip 20% or more when well served and great food. Even though I am not a food critic, my palate is sensitive to discern spices and the amounts. Some places use heavy garlic to hide poor cooking skills. My palate loves the food here as they use the right amount of spices.
MoreThe sushi menu is small but what they put on it is HIGH quality. Just pick one of the rolls (or twoand go with it - you will not be disappointed. If you happen to be new to Thai food the pad Buddha beef is an excellent place to start. If has thin strips of beef and plenty of veggies in a very tasty broth that goes very, very well with the fried rice. Go ahead and get the egg rolls too.
MoreBest Snowball roll i have ever had! I’m a weekly takeout customer because of it! Super nice staff too!
MoreFresh made, no buffet here! The sauces are like no other in our area. Recommend the Pho, Pad Basil and the Bun noodle bowl. But have never had a meal here I did not enjoy. The decor is not great and sometimes service is slow, but worth the wait.
MoreMy favorite restaurant in town!, The chef knows his stuff. The food melts with pleasure in your mouth. The spices are well blended and simply a majestic food experience. Great wait staff! If youve not tried Thai, this will be a pleasant dining surprise for you.
MoreGot a "to go" order. Got it home and it looked like a sculptor made it! Beautiful presentation for a "to go" order. This was my first time trying them out too. It was mighty tasty. Ill definitely go back!
MorePad Thai was tasty, but didnt have authentic noodles. Service was friendly, prompt and helpful. If youre a fan of spicy Thai food, get your order Thai hot or super Thai hot. They go pretty easy on the heat.
MoreThe food was awful. My wife had sweet and sour chicken and it tasted terrible and she could not eat it. She had to go get Zaxbys after we left so she had dinner. The ginger salad dressing looks and taste like 1000 island. Ive never had ginger dressing that looked and tasted like 1000 island. I had sushi that was alarmingly hot. Ive never had some so warm. Kind of scary for sushi. The nasty sauce was dumped on the sushi by the gallon. Now I am laying in bed feeling like Im going to throw up. I wish I wouldnt have given the 35 dollars for nothing but disappointment and sickness. Next time Im in West Monroe I will not go there. I would prefer to not have a sick stomach on my next trip here. No one was in there when we were there so Im guessing the whole state of Louisiana is aware this restaurant sucks. Save your money and go to a place that wont make you sick and sad.
MoreThis is my home away from home. The staff is friendly and professional. The food is amazing!! The owners are very special people who go out of their way to make their customers happy!
MoreThe sushi is succulent and the General TSO was great!
Its just a great little place to eat, great service, the food is always good, I love their curry and everything Ive had there has been great and its very reasonably priced.
MoreBeen here several times over the past few years.. love the food and the friendly staff. Cant get any more authentic than this!! A must when visiting west Monroe!
MoreI was elated to find--and eager to try--this Thai food restaurant in West Monroe. Having grown up in California, a mecca for all things Asain, the first thing I do when in a new city is hunt for the best Thai cuisine available.I was overjoyed by the Thai tea and spring rolls, perfect starters! Then, my favorite dish that I use as the litmus for every new Thai restaurant: pad see ew with tofu... so very disappointing. It was drowned in oil and flavorless with narrow noodles and absolutely no heat (I ordered it spicy level 8 ouT of 10).I am sad that this is being passed to folks as Thai food...
Morelove this place me and my husband agree better than raws except on sushi the cheese wontons are excellent. moo moo Gia pan is good... southern chicken meal is little spicy but good.. luv it..
MoreI ordered the crawfish and shrimp fried rice dishes. The seafood in both dishes were clearly OLD, as well as foul smelling. I will definitely not be returning anytime soon. Please save your money.
