Banana Eco Camp in Angra do Heroismo

We really enjoyed staying at this camp. It had the feel of a hostel (communal hanging out space, shared kitchen, shared bathroomsbut with more privacy thanks to the comfy huts and a bunch of fun hanging out areas like bean bags and hammocks among the bananas. A really fun place to stay and its pretty central which was wonderful. We would stay there again.

We went for breakfast only which included delicious coffee, fresh squeezed juice, 2 boiled eggs, tomato, cheese, and toast plate. Valerii was an excellent barista, chef, and server.

Siamo stati la banana camp 4 giorni, abbiamo prenotato una tenda. La tenda era molto confortevole. Il campeggio ha tutti i confort necessari, ha anche un bellissimo bar all’interno.Gestito da persone meravigliose.Il campeggio è interamente immerso in un bananeto. Consiglio a chiunque voglia vivere l’isola in modo da essere realmente a contatto con la natura

A szálláshely kinézete és felszereltsége teljesen megfelelt a leírásnak. A városon kívül helyezkedik el, nincs zaj, kitűnő pihenésre. A házigazda kedves, segítőkész, hamar reagált minden üzenetre.

Amazing place! You should try to stay a couple if days here. The huts are directly among the banana trees, everything is green and quiet. The huts are not sealed so air comes in and that makes it fresh and exciting. There are hammocks and beanbags in the common areas. It is still a camp so dont expect anything fancy. It is an important part of your journey on the island.

Das Camp befindet sich mitten in einer kleinen Bio-Bananen und Kaffeeplantage. Zusätzlich gibt es verschiedene Früchte die auf dem Gelände wachsen. Gemeinschaftsküche und Aufenthaltsraum ist super gemütlich, zusätzlich gibt es Hängematten und eine Feuerstelle und ein neues Cafe auf dem Gelände auf dem frisch der direkt nebenan wachsende Kaffee zubereitet wird - so fruchtigen Kaffee haben wir zuletzt auf Papua bekommen. Wer ein Stück Lateinamerika in Europa spüren möchte sollte in dieses Camp kommen!

Soggiorno spartano ma molto divertente. Si alloggia in piccole capanne fatte di legno e lamiera in un campo di banane.Cucina e bagni condivisi, ma per un breve periodo ci sta e si riesce a conoscere altri viaggiatori. Abbiamo anche cucinato dei pesci alla griglia cotti nelle foglie di banano, molto divertente!

Dormir sous les bananiers est magique ! Mais le bruit du frigo et lodeur du compost ont sen passerait bien !

Pessima organizzazione. Dopo aver prenotato due cabanas e dopo averci confermato la prenotazione, arriviamo e scopriamo che la nostra prenotazione non era stata in realtà segnata. Lalternativa era un soggiorno in tenda. Non era quello per cui eravamo venuti, abbiamo preferito prenotare altrove, con del disagio che ha conseguito.

Banana Eco camping is probably the best place in Terceira.First the warmness of the hosts that welcome you with all their story and dreams.Second the place itself is a unique experience: a banana field where you can go camping, but they also offer different types of cabanas that are more comfortable than normal tents.2 common places with 2 kitchen , different showers and toilets.Position is also great!Definitely a place to come back

I planned to stay at Banana Eco Camp for 2 nights, but I liked it sooo much - so I extended my stay for an other night. In deed I wish I could stay there for a few weeks.Mina and Sergej were very friendly and the first evening we were sitting around a campfire with a few other guests - shared some food and talked about this and that.The little cottage house where I slept was in a perfect condition, with electricity, and a comfortable bed. The showers had hot water and the toilets were also great. Usually when I travel I like to see some things and this time I was also happy to come back to the camp and lay in the hammock and read. There was also a very very cute cat around and I was so happy with her. The kitchen had everything you need, also a fridge with plenty of space and my stay was just perfect! Sometimes I hitchhiked to Angra (the next townand sometimes I walked (its about 30 min).If youre looking for a place to relax your mind and enjoy yourself and the nature - this is the right place. One of my best accommodations ever (and Ive been in many many many). 5 stars for this wonderful and peaceful place, where you hear the birds singing 😊

The camp is an oasis on the island. It is central and yet, once you cross the gate, you are in a quiet, nature pure environment. The cabins and amenities are all lovely and thought through, with deco touches! The banana trees make for an exotic and peaceful surrounding. Mimo że w naszym pierwszym mieszkaniu na Terceira było fantastycznie, ostatnią noc chcieliśmy spędzić w objęciach Matki Natury, która na Azorach jest prawdziwą Miss Piękności. Jak stęsknione skrzaty wypatrywaliśmy na ekranie monitora chatek obrośniętych bluszczem i domków zagubionych w gęstwinie leśnej głuszy, gdy jednak zobaczyliśmy "Banana Eco Camp" wiedzieliśmy, że nie musimy szukać dalej.Nina i jej mąż pochodzą z Sant Petersburga, który zamienili na Porto, a na Terceira trafili po tym, jak urodziła im się córeczka - szukali tutaj spokoju dla dziecka oraz nowych wyzwań. Plantacja bananów, na której rosną również papaje i marakuje, należy do ich wspólnika, oni za to wznieśli na drewniane chatki, kuchnię oraz toalety i prysznice. Gdy Nina, jak Indianka, prowadziła nas do naszej chaciny w dzikiej dżungli, a my jak blade twarze, szliśmy za nią posłusznie w gęstym mroku, zorientowaliśmy się jak bardzo nasze miejskie oczy nieprzyzwyczajone są do prawdziwej ciemności. Decyzja pozostawienia spodni wywieszonych na drzwiach naszego domku, aby rozpoznać go po kolacji, była jak najbardziej słuszna, a wracając czuliśmy się trochę jak w filmie przygodowym, tym bardziej, że spomiędzy liści co rusz wyłaniały się kiści bananów oplecionych folią, które na pierwszy rzut oka wyglądały jak wielgachne potwory.Dodatkowym plusem jest to, że owocami możecie tu najadać się do syta, a jeśli przeszkadzają Wam wspólne toalety i prysznice, to uwierzcie mi, wschód słońca w bananowym gaju tuż nad oceanem wynagradza wszystko!

In Banana Eco Camp I have spent nearly 5 amazing weeks.I decided to stay as close to nature as possible during the azorian winter, and that was a great choice.The owners of the place are a very welcoming and open minded couple, we have spent a lot of time together, enjoying coffee in the camp but also traveling around the island.The camp itself is amazing, there are 6 small cabanas and 2 big ones, each of them surrounded by bananas.There is also a common area where you can cook, eat your meal and make a fire in a fireplace. The temperature in cabanas was ok, even in January. And yes the cabanas are cozy even if its windy and rainy outside. Can you imagine waking up in January morning, opening the door to your little house, seeing juicy green colour, hearing birds singing, being able to hear the ocean which is only about 200-300meters from the camp.Bananas is not the only abundance in the Banana Eco Camp magic garden. You will be surrounded by papaya & avocado trees, guaiava, passion fruit, coffee bushes. I was not even aware that all these can grow on Azores😍That was a unique holiday break (especially during a pandemic winter). SPA for my mind, soul and body💙Big thank you Nina & Segiej for your hospitality!Aga

Para quem gosta de natureza, de acampar, encontra aqui uma experiência diferente mas encantadora. Trocar o stress pela calma de uma quinta com bananeiros e outras fruteiras exóticas, trocar o conforto de uma casa pela simplicidade de uma cabana...Tem duches, wc, e cozinha exteriores.

If you want to spend a different and unusual experience, to should go to Banana Ecocamp in Terceira.It was a really amazing experience where you can enjoy the nature from inside. You can be part of nature living between banana, papaya, coffee trees and relaxing with different kind of birds.You have places to be in privacy, quiet, and relax while you are not exploring the rest of the island which is mind-bending by he way.

Espetacular mesmo para os locais! Consegue ser a calma dentro de uma ilha que já por si é calma. Tem tudo o que é preciso. Tudo muito limpo, cabanas super confortáveis, podemos fazer churrasco e pequenas fogueiras. Muitas árvores de fruto e muitas plantas. Recomendo sem qualquer dúvida! O Serg e a Nina muito simpáticos e hospitaleiros! 5 estrelas!

Posiblemente el mejor viaje que he hecho hasta ahora. No sólo por la preciosidad de la isla y el entorno, si no también por el alojamiento. Nina y su familia son increíbles, el banana Camp es el sitio más mágico en el que he estado. Dormir en una cabaña en mitad de una jungla de plátanos no tiene precio. Cuenta con una zona chillout con hamacas, zonas de barbacoa (en 7 días al menos hicimos 5🤣, te dan leña gratis para hacerla), sus baños y cocinas totalmente equipadas. Además de ello, tuvimos la suerte de poder salir a navegar con Nina, Sergio y sus peques, y de realizar snorkel, una experiencia increíble. Compartimos con ellos unos buenos ratos entre barbacoas, vinos, historias y risas.Si os gusta la naturaleza y la buena gente, el banana Camp es vuestro sitio.

This place was great. Very relaxing. Nice place to get away from everyday events and clear your mind. Feels like you took an expensive trip to Costa Rica or something haha. The weather was great and not too windy even in the winter time. Mosquitoes and other bugs were at a minimum. There are public open kitchens, showers, bathrooms, fire pits, and sitting areas. There was all sorts of appliances. Refrigerator, freezer, grill, coffee pot, bean grinder, pots, pans, utensils, cups, plates.... You name it! We stayed in a hut and there was plenty of electric outlets and lighting. There are green lights around the camp so you dont HAVE to bring a flashlight...but it helps at times. They even have us fresh fruit and let us use firewood.I highly suggest staying at this camp with the bananas and the cats!

Such a great place! Too be honest very jealous of the owners for setting up a place like this. Really recommend it, a place you won’t see anywhere else.

Удобная парковка.Пешком до океана - 300м.Впридачу идет услуга wake-up сервиса от буревестников Кори: если вы съездите сюда, то найдёте себе рингтон на будильник на всю оставшуюся жизнь.

Zona dacampada molt tranquil•la al mig duna plantació de plàtans. No es necessita anar-hi amb tenda de campanya ja que allà ja nhi ha de muntades, amb matalàs i sac de dormir inclosos. La zona comú, amb la cuina - menjador, bany i dutxes amb aigua calenta potser és una mica petita si shi coincideix amb altres campistes, però tot i aixi està ben organitzada. Recomanable!

4Sterne setzen sich zusammen aus: Aufenthalt allgemein 4/5 - Gastfreundschaft 5/5 - Check in 5/5 , selbst mitten in der Nacht war jemand zur Stelle uns das Camp zu zeigen - Kommunikation 5/5 - Stil 5/5 - Erwartungen wurde übertroffen - Sauberkeit 4/5 , mit Tieren ist zu rechnen wenn man in der Natur ist, Hühner, Katze, ab und zu ein Hund, Wellensittiche und man hört den Gelbschnabel Sturmtaucher(der bekommt 5von5- Rückzugsmöglichkeit 5/5 - Angaben entsprechen dem was vorzufinden ist also 5/5 - Ort 5/5 - Preis Leistung 5/5 ...Hier und da gibt es bestimmt ein paar Kleinigkeiten die man verbessern könnte, zB liegen die Matratzen auf dem Boden in den Hütten und werden vielleicht nicht gut durchlüftet dadurch, war aber trotzdem kein Problem (kein Schimmel wie man erwarten könnte- ein Gasherd mit 2 Kochfeldern heisst man muss sich mit den anderen Campbewohnern arrangieren wenn man kochen will oder man geht essen - man kommt somit aber auch gut in Kontakt mit den anderen Campgästen was auch sehr positiv sein kann da man sich austauschen kann über dies und das ... Es gibt Spiele die von allen genutzt werden können, Grillstellen und vieles mehr - insgesamt 4 von 5 Sternen weil ich davon ausgehe, dass alles nach 2 jährigem bestehen schon gut ist wie es ist bisher - Braucht man Hilfe oder etwas anderes bekommt man das auch !.. Weiter so !.. Auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert !..

Nous avons passé deux nuits au camping , tout sest très bien passé ! Nous avons loué une tente mais il existe de très jolis petits chalets en bois et un tipis! Il y a des cuisines communes et commodités en pierres volcaniques et bois, cest un bon endroit pour se reposer au milieu des bananiers ! Nous avons eu la chance de participer à un repas partagé au coin du feu avec lensemble des campeurs venu de nombreux horizons, cétait un moment très agréable et riche déchange. Merci encore à nos hôtes pour leur accueil et bravo pour cet Oasis quils ont réussi à créer.

Super cosy place and friendly host. Everything is handmade of local ingredients like the Outdoor Kitchen With volcano stone. Dont expect it to be super luxurios. Try to have a Camping mindset, then this place will be like Heaven.

Fiz a reserva no Banana Eco Camp através do Booking, pelas fotos que vi, adorei o local, isto até chegar ao local no dia do check in.quando lá chegamos e após ter combinado a hora de entrada, não se encontrava ninguém no local... o local em nada tem a ver com as fotos publicadas... parece um local completamente ao abandono, muito lixo no chão bananeiras completamente a cair de podres (tenho fotos para comprovar o que estou a dizer), colchoes abandonados no meio da plantação... etc.procuramos o contacto com o proprietário, para fazermos o check in, ao que me respondeu que poderíamos entrar no bangalow porque estava aberto, e que nos podíamos acomodar, ou seja se estava aberto, qualquer um que entrasse ali já podia ter estado la dentro, assim como parecia pela forma dos lençóis, tinham aspecto de terem sido usados...pedi para vir até ao local, porque não estava satisfeita com o que vi...o proprietario fez-se acompanhar por um outro senhor (que se apresentou como sendo o dono do terrenopara facilitar a tradução uma vez que eu não domino o ingles na perfeição, nem ele o português.ao serem confrontados com o nosso desagrado em relação ao que estávamos a ver, e advertidos de que o local em nada tinha a ver com as fotos anunciadas, foram extremamente mal educados... "disse o proprietário do terreno para o proprietário do eco camp (ou seja o ingles que esta explorar o local"Já te disse que não podes alugar isto a portugueses, eles não percebem nada de ecologia..." e mais "Voces são meninas da cidade não percebem nada de campo"Acho inadmissível que pessoas que estão a explorar o nosso pais falem dos portugueses desta forma... e não, não somos meninas da cidade, todas nós somos escuteiras e estamos habituadas a campismo, mas aquilo que vimos lá não é o que nos foi apresentado nas fotos do booking e por isso ficamos descontentes com o local, alem de não existir higiene nenhuma. e ficamos ainda mais descontentes com a recepção e a falta de educação dos proprietários.Disseram-nos também na altura que se quisesse-mos podíamos ir embora que não iriam cobrar nada pala reserva,Atitude que não foi cumprida quando eu cancelei reserva.mais uma vez pessoas sem palavra...Alem de publicidade enganosa, falta de respeito, ainda são pessoas sem palavra.

Liked our stay in this banana camp. Everything is there but you have to realize it is like camping and all facilities are shared and the cabins are cosy. But really nice between the bananas and unique experience.

Knusse en gezellige locatie om te overnachten/kamperen! Het is wat primitief, maar op zich van alle gemakken voorzien. De douches zijn lekker warm. Er zijn gedeelde douches en toiletten. De ruimte in de hut is wat beperkt om je spullen neer te leggen, dus zorg dat je niet te grote koffers meeneemt.

Assim que cheguei a senhora que me atendeu teve a ousadia de me mostrar um alojamento usado, e me pergunta se gostaria de usar o mesmos lençóis. Digo que "não". Ela diz que vai limpar, entretanto apenas troca os lençóis, o alojamento continuou com terra e lama dentro(como nas fotos). A área externa suja, sacos de lixo, cartões, madeiras soltas pelo caminho com pregos. As barracas foram displicentemente colocadas na parte onde estão sendo construídas cabanas, sucego não existia, barulho o dia todo, martelos, serrote. Os funcionários da obra estavam lavandosse na pia da cozinha compartilha, nada higiênico. Algumas barracas estavam cem cobertura em cima, o sol hoje estava 28 graus, impossível ficar dentro. Fui falar sobre o assunto, a responsável fingiu que nada estava escutando. Me decepcionei totalmentePropaganda enganosa

My frinds and I planed to stayed on Bananaecocamp for 4 days and then move on but it is just such an awesome place that we decidet to stay there for the rest of our holidays (10 days).Also the owners are super super frindly people.So if you like natur you should definitely check out Banana Camp!

Beautiful place if you are looking for something unusual and unique.

Really great spot, a bit rustic but in a good way. Very friendly guys run it, very welcoming. Great place to get away from it and chill among the banana plants, can even have a bon fire. The walk to town is about 35min and the road isnt great for walking but perfectly doable in day light, maybe avoid at night...

Make sure to ask Bernardo for a tour of the farm.
