This is unfortunately very poorly done Thai Food. Who is ever in the kitchen should reconsider another way of making a living. Because this food is very disappointing.

STILL STILL my favorite Thai place in town, perhaps all of Southern Oregon! Flavorful dishes, good prices and atmosphere, very friendly staff...this place has it all! Admittedly, I probably come here too often, but its always a good decision! You wont regret dining here!

We loved Ban Mai until our meal this evening. We ordered the yellow chicken curry which has been a beloved meal of ours. We specialty order it with no carrots and add more chicken (there chicken has always been a little light). It would run about $13 for this dinner which is fair. This evening we went in and the portion sizes are 1/2 the size and they charged us $18.50 for the meal. $4 was added for the extra chicken. When I opened the containers it doesnt even appear that more chicken was added. I understand prices everywhere are going up, but I can assure you this meal is not worth the $18.50. Also, when you charge people $4 more for chicken, please put it in the order! As you can see from the pictures, the chicken is very thin and small and its the usual amount in the order. Super bummed!

The pad woon sen here is amazing! Everything was really fresh. They were busy, and yet they were attentive and the service was fast. They filled a ton of take out orders when we ate. It looks like thay stay busy. This place is one of my new favorites. Highly suggested...

100% true story. We got takeout here last night (they only offer takeout). I’m from Seattle and have many choices for amazing Thai. I wasn’t expecting much and Ban Mai beat expectations. There’s only fives things you need to know about this place 1. Garlic. 2. Garlic. 3. Garlic. 4. Garlic. 5. Garlic. When we pulled up and parked 100 ft from the door and got out of the car my first thought was “Garlic”. My wife went in and got the food and put it in the back seat. Garlic. We went to our room at the Hampton. Carrying it in to our room I said to my wife “our room is going to smell like garlic”. The green papaya salad had about a half bulb of raw garlic. I really liked it, was above average for what we get in Seattle. My beef with vegetables over wide noodles was intense garlic and pretty good, probably average for Seattle. My wife wasn’t very crazy about her stir fried vegetables with deep fried tofu (it was drowning in sauce).A couple hours after dinner my wife had to get something from the car. When she got in the elevator with two other people they immediately began talking about a strong odor. My wife didn’t say anything as they finally decided it was a smell of garlic coming from someone who brought takeout to their room. The last thing she heard them say as she got off the elevator was “I hope it was better for them than for us”.I’d say it was.

Delicious!!! Some of the best Thai food I have had. The peanut sauce is to die for- could have eaten it alone with a spoon. Dined with some friends as I was visiting GP who dine here often. We all enjoyed everything. Can’t wait to come for another visit. The service is kind, friendly and efficient.

If I am every driving through I will will be stopping here. Unlike some the idea of take out only doesnt scare me away and it shouldnt scare you neither. I was concerned because they had a help wanted sign in the door, but I can admit when Im wrong. Service was fast, food was delicious and plentiful. If you live in the are I beg of you to apply for a job here. They need help and I need to stay open!

So not the best Thai Food Ive ever had but its definitely the best in Southern Oregon weve tried and weve tried most of them. Food taste fresh and clean. Actual Thai spices, made from scratch crispy rolls (most place use frozen), lots of vegetables, and they fry the tofu perfectly. Im vegan and this place is very accommodating. Ive been to Thailand many times- this place is a gem in Southern Oregon.

Love ban mai food. The pineapple curry chicken is my favorite dish, although I have never had a plate here that I did not like. I have been here alot and they never have sushi, and rarely have a bar available. The food is worth stopping in and the service is friendly. This is made to order and not the fastest meal service so not the place if you are in a rush.

Every single dish I’ve eaten there is simply delicious. I like to try different dishes but knowing how INCREDIBLE the green curry is I find it hard to NOT just order it over and over; that Thai eggplant in the dish and just a hint of ‘fire’... just thinking of it makes me drool. Portions are generous, staff is near perfect and the price is right.

Best Thai in town..Best Thai in Josephine County. Everything is bursting with flavors. And the sweet Lady that does most of the cooking, is so awesome. If you want to experience the real taste of Thai food...look no further. I cant hardly wait for them to open up to let us come back in and sit to eat. Love, love, love this place.

Wonderful and authentic Thai cuisine. We tried the drunken noodles, pineapple fried rice and Panang soup. Everything was super delicious. Probably some of the best Thai food I have had in the USA. Also they can do most of their dishes vegan or gluten free if that’s a concern. Can’t wait time come back .

I have a family member that is from Thailand and runs a Thai food stand. I have pretty high standards of what I would consider good Thai food. I just moved to Grants Pass and on a whim ordered some take out. I usually like the Tom Ka Gai coconut milk soup but ordered the pad thai because I know its a staple dish and I wanted to see what this place was made of. All I can say is WOW. Every cook has their own signature and unique flavor. This did not disappoint. I usually do not write reviews unless I have an outstanding or extremely bad experience somewhere. This was so delicious and point on that I said to myself, I have to write a review, this place deserves it. I WILL be coming back! Thank You!

Great soup! I love their Grandmas Soup! It is a wonderful broth and is full of perfectly cooked vegetables and glass noodles. You get to choose the meat if desired. They put more cilantro than I care for but, when I say easy on the cilantro, I get a small amount thats perfect for me. I appreciate that! Yum!

Good traditional thai flavorings. The drunken, or sloppy, noodles are not the best Ive had but they are probably the best in this area. The soup is fabulous. The pricing is acceptable - but any higher and I probably wouldnt come here as often.

I had the vegan drunken noodles and they were tasty but oily. I enjoyed that they were the classic taste of Thai drunken noodles that I expected, with a larger variety and quantity of vegetables, but I felt a bit heavy afterwards.

Sushi was delicious, we got the double double roll and the salmon and shrimp roll. Panang curry was good but not strong enough. With jasmine rice it was almost bland. Definitely needs more heat and flavor. Pad Thai was okay, lots of sprouts and green onion which I liked. It was too saucy and sweet. Overall good place though.

Food was delicious and it hit the spot after a long road trip. Had the pad see ew, green curry, "salad roll", and fried egg rolls. We were the second group dining in for dinner service but it took quite awhile to get our order taken because phone orders seemed to take priority . Younger waitress who first tended to us was average, but the older one who took over was more genuine and attentive. Prices are about 20% higher than Im used to for what i would consider a more remote strip mall and very average presentation but flavor was good .

Just off the hiking trail and my friend felt feverish so we thought some good soup would start the healing process. So glad we found this place. Great menu choices in soups, curry, stir fry, other traditional entrees. Flavors are unbeatable. Food is incredibly fresh. We shared a tofu salad roll appetizer which had finger licking sauces. I had the orange chicken that was very lightly fried then served with a very tangy light orange sauce with fresh carrots, cabbage and broccoli. My friend had grandmas noodle soup and said it was amazing. This place is worth the drive.

The service here is probably the worst Ive had in Grants Pass. When you first walk in no one will even acknowledge that you are there. After we were finally seated it took them almost 15 minutes just to bring us water and menus. My wife and I each ordered an entree and we also ordered a sushi roll to split. We waited over 1:15 to get our food and we were only 3rd table in the place. When they finally brought food they brought my wifes dish out first and it took another 15 minutes for them to bring mine out, still no sushi. So by the time I had gotten my food she was already finished eating. We ordered a Thai Margarita and a Pear Cider and it took them over 1/2 hour to bring it to us. Needless to say we will not be going back. We had been here about a year earlier and decided to give it another shot. Boy were we wrong. The food was Mediocre Thai food at best. Nothing to write home about.

Quite possibly the best Thai food in all of Southern Oregon: very tasty, reasonably priced, fresh veggies in every dish, vegetarian options, friendly service, quiet location, welcoming, laid-back atmosphere. This is a great place to get to know someone better over dinner or to relax with a beer or glass of wine at the end of a hectic day. I recommend the Thai Basil Fried Rice, it is absolutely delicious, its my usual.

What an awesome restaurant! Tons of gluten free and vegan options. Reasonably priced portions that are sized to share. The sushi is adorable, a great date night treat. Yes I said adorable, ours came with a little bunny made of and orange and apple slices. Everything was super fresh and sauced to perfection. The peanut sauce is the best Ive tasted in grants pass. Try the papaya salad and the pad see ew!
