Ban Changthai - Tourist attraction in Trat, Thailand
Very sad to see these animals trapped, in a small place without any structure for them. Dont pay for rides, dont pay for fun using them, donate your money to sanctuaries that take care of these animals. Elephants are docile animals and do not deserve this cruelty.
Testy food, nice stuff, awesome hotel
Dont support animal tourism!Elephants are endangered wild creatures which belong in the jungle and not in a camp. If you care about elephants dont ride their backs and dont take a bath with them. Only we as tourist can make a change if we stop booking these tours. Thank you.
Shocking to continue promoting elephant cruelty ! They are chained and driven and hit with hooks! It is a shame ! Don’t go there !
Very friendly and cute female elephant with name Ma-le . Very friendly staffs and owner, Im really enjoyed play with Male in the water . Thank you so much for pictures 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Dont know if they are treating the elephants well
The elephants are chained up and are showing signs of distress. Please do not go there
The elephants are depressed, there are being held in small cages! Its horrible to see
Terrible 😔😔😔
I have mixed thoughts about this place. On one hand, it is good to visit to see the elephants and feed them, if you like. On the other hand, they are chained in such a way, they can hardly move, which is the main reason, I believe, they just rock from side to side or back and forth. I did not ride them, nor do I recommend doing so. I think by doing so you promote animal abuse for for the sake of money. You can take a few photos, give them some bananas or some other food items and then move to another place, where animals are taken better care of.
Elephants were amazing. Hand fed them
None of this is natural behaviour for an elephant.
Nice place. Elephants. 100 THB feed them. Donations wellcome.
16 may 2019 HBD one more elephant, Nice place and Lovle baby elephant
We saw today nweborn baby elephant!!!
Sad, sad place. Very poorly elephants-most of them with sign of psychosis 😢
Shocking ! I saw 3 elephants tied from a vertical post to their neck, with a chain so they could not move their head more than approx. 70cm from the post. This disables them to lower their heads. This was in addition to their foot being chained. The pens where very small. One elephant was 20 months pregnant and barely able to move, due to her neck chained. She was rocking back and forth, obviously stressed. A 2 year old baby was not chained, but in a small pen, alone, circling in distress. I saw no water available to the animals, in extremely hot weather. I have no idea how many hours a day these poor creatures are detained like this. Thailand has new laws against such things. But, it seems, no one is enforcing the laws. These elephants deserve to be kept in better conditions. Please voice your opinions, if you wish to visit this place. Please have a voice for the elephants. When I asked why the elephants where chained by the neck to the post, I was told, "No problem, they can move back and forth." I wonder how these people would feel, if they were chained in such a way. Absolutely shocking...
All the elephants are chained up with many showing signs of distress. They arent dancing! Its stress!Google "elephant training" and there are many videos about how they are trained to accept people riding on them. It will put you off places like this for ever. For the sake of the elephants dont visit, find an elephant sanctuary instead.
Stopped there to feed the elephants. 100baht/basket. They are chained and look a bit bored. Hoping they get treated well.
Wonderful place to interact with elephants and feed them good food.
Too
Amazing experience. Beautiful animals. Riding the elephants on the jungle and swim with them after. Love it😍
They are harting the elephants...
Well, ... they do have elephants ...
Yesssss! I finally went for an elephant ride. And what a great experience it was! Lots of fun to sit on this majestic big animal and slowly stomp on a path up and down through the jungle. We really enjoyed it!! I can say it often enough: you have to try it!!. After the ride you can buy souvenirs to support the feeding of the elephants or buy food for the elephants directly and feed it to them directly. Great experience!!
The best experience ....just great, fun, enjoyed every minute of the elephant tour :)
Elephant trekking on these majestic lumbering beasts of burden was wonderful and takes you back in time. The infinite black clouds of thirsty mosquitos were horrifying and inconveniencing the whole purpose of the journey, which was to relax and be one with nature. Long and thick clothing is very strongly advised.I felt very sad seeing the elephants feet chained up and shackled when they werent being utilized for jungle excursions. It seemed like such a sad life and I felt guilty regret for in a sense funding and furthering this brutal existence of such an intelligent species.Make sure to doubleheader douse yourself with insect repellent and wear thick socks. The bugs will shred you like a blender, otherwise. They offer momentos and trinkets for sale and the ability to pay money to feed the animals. Children seem to rave over such an opportunity to feed and ride on such ponderous creatures as these speckled elephants.
Great Adventure
Loved it but it rained at the end.
Please dont go there!! The Elephants are chained and cant move, they cant walk around and have to stand in the sun without water. It was really heartbreaking for me to see those beautiful, intelligent creatures standing there. I was nearly in tears for the elephant that was chained near the street :(
Wery good!
We tried the water playing with chang. Its a wonderful experience for my 4 years old girl.
If you do this tour ensure u do the swim with the elephants tour, Longer and more expensive but well worth the getting wet. The rainforest walk is a little short. The river where the swim takes place is clean and clear despite the garbage u pass on the way. The Guides will try and sell you some over prices carvings towards the end of the journey.Children are considered 9 and under for pricing
Nice
Gooooooood
Dont go there elephants are not free.
Seems like the elefants are treated quite well....very impressive to go swimming with the animals
I am ok
