Really lovely atmosphere, fantastic cosy venue. Staff were absolutely lovely and food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Food was a little slow coming out, but we were a sizeable group and it all came out together still hot and well presented!

The Bartender nicely explained the right way to drink a vodka. Respect. Loved the experience.

Came here for the first time and didnt know what to order. Thank god, i had a great waitress that suggested some amazing pork bbq ribs and a great cocktail on the side! 👍 enjoyed my time here, had a great chat with the staff and some great food!😍

I ordered a beer and pork ribs following waitress recommendation - and ribs were absolutely unedible. I said that to the waitress and asked for the check - and to my shock the ribs were there. Absolutely outrageous.

Amazing location and very good food. Havent tried a burger with such kind of bread (take a look at other peoples photos). Id give 4/5 for just food alone as the meat was a bit overcooked. Anyway, friendly staff (+1 just for offering dog some water during the hot dayand perfect location brings it up to 5 stars!

Amazing cocktails and food! Been there many times and its always just as good. Great choice ,with seating inside and out. Super friendly staff. Recommend especially for those that want to explore the flavours and ways to elevate the Latvian Riga Black balsam ! The one I was drinking is passion martini which was sweet,tart and fresh.

Cocktails were really good, and great atmosphere at Jacobs Barracks!

We were a large group of friends visiting Riga from around the world, and we had our first meal here. IT WAS AMAZING!! The customer service was superb and personable, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was perfect, the prices were reasonable, and the manager even gave us a round of the traditional Riga Black Balsam on the house! It was the best start to an unforgettable time together in Riga. Cannot recommend this restaurant more highly!

What a disappointing experience! We were celebrating a hen party which turned to be a disaster. The manager (lady with dark hairlaughed into my face and was extremely rude after I said we made a reservation for a specific cocktail which was approved face to face the day before with a waiter. She said that maybe I saw a ghost who made the reservation for us. Have never experienced such a poor communication with a customer and service. Hope they will have a visit who will check their place soon.Stay away from this place !

Very unprofessional management.We agreed for event, when we came for it she laughed at my face.Looks like she really hates people from other countries.Dont recommend but up to you.

Real Latvian food with a modern twist, cool and elegant design and amazing staff! Whoever goes here has to try traditional cocktail of Riga-just ask the bartender about it!

This restaurant doesnt look like much and even the menu looks a bit plain as in basic ... but dont go by appearance!!!The food is simple but great!!! Tasty and very nice. Their wine list excellent also offering a wide variety of wines by the glass.If you are after a very good meal, unsophisticated menu but excellent delivery ... I recommend it without hesitation.

Went there for valentines day. It was smaller than expected, but thats honestly a good thing. The place was super warm and super cozey. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately I didnt get to spend as much time there as I had hoped so I only have this picture of my starter. The food was great and prices are very reasonable, considering the location. Had the Chanel Nr.5 cocktail which was spectacular and had a strong alcohol taste, which is also a + (bang for your buck). Great experience, would love to go again some time soon. Oh and we got a complimentary sherbert, 10/10.

My favourite cocktail bar in Riga for more than 15 years..

Small but classy and cosy underground place, serving great cocktails and good bar food. It was busy when we went and didn’t have a reservation but one of the bar staff set up a makeshift table for us which was a nice touch. We enjoyed the crispy potato pancakes and the chicken goujons

Cozy place hidden in old town. Nice terrace outside with live DJ. We had tasty dinner and the personnel was very friendly.

Live dj when we went here on friday. Great atmosphere overall. We had pasta and chicken gyros, and both were delicious. Also the service was great and fast! Would recommend!

A bar with food. I drank a couple of nice mojitas, so probably any food would have tasted good afterwards! We shared a potato/smoked trout starter — very nice (and easily big enough to share unless you’re very hungry). I had chicken salad, also nice.We were given bread and butter.Service was okay. Seats were comfy. Decor was cosy.

Excellent service and welcoming staff. They treated us with the compliment from the chef as a starter. A share plate with local cheese, prosciutto, salami, cheese balls and some pickles was good for snacks, but a bit expensive. All the cocktails we ordered were breathtakingly astonishing. I enjoyed passion fruit gin cocktail. Special thanks for the meat in the burger as it was flawless. Also, we loved pasta with shrimps and salmon. It was perfect al dente, right "to the tooth". Be ready to spend 20-25 euro per person in average. And it is worth noting that they presented us a bottle of champagne as a birthday present with the Happy birthday music on the background. A memorable place with good music and atmosphere. Surely a must visit place for families and friends.

A stylish restaurant in the #oldtown Because it is near the #swedishgate , there is not much traffic and it is a place where you can enjoy a relaxing meal in the oldest city. Here you can order #latvian specialties #zuppa and potatoes, #honeycake , Latvian original liqueur #balzam original and lemon cocktails. zuppa had a strong taste because the fish was soaked in vinegar! Fish are also thick! Perfect for cream! The honey cake was rich and luxurious with cheese cake, plenty of honey, passion and orange sauce! And big! This is recommended for cocktails. The fruity refreshing taste of lemon and the savory taste of liqueur are wonderful. * The performance is often performed in front of the Swedish gate, so it is highly recommended that you can eat rice while listening to music. There is also a bar in the store so you can use it at night. I will write another article about the bar.Satisfied after dinner, ordering another #balzam drink at the bar in the shop in the basement, thinking it was very good and only one cup. After ordering a sweet #cocktail, the bartender made an ice cream cocktail using balzsms normal taste! I often meet the fruity taste of balsam and the rich taste of ice cream! *When I was very pleased, the bartender allowed me to sample all kinds of balsam #liqueurs and #gin . Liqueurs are available in normal, expresso, cherry, currant and cream. I like sweets and love cream and currant. The cherry blossom has a slightly artificial taste, so the bartender did not recommend it too much. Jin taught me that it is recommended to drink a kind of berry called Juniver with lemon and gin. This is a berry but tastes bitter. When I tell my first visit to Latvia, I often introduce many places. The bartender is very friendly. They often greet and shake hands when regular customers come. It was a friendly and very cozy bar. I promise to go play next summer. The bartender gave me a strong handshake on my way home. All was perfect! Believe me, I am very requesting person, and I am totally satisfied with food (the cauliflower soup was magic!), service, environment, design, and price. The service really improved my attitude of Riga, which is lagging behind in service quality.

Beer and wine was nice... But... This place is bar and it should have remained that way. Why is almost every Latvian Bar trying to be also a restaurant? We waited for our food almost 2 hours although we were a group of 15 people it is still ridiculously long. The food was pretty average. No special taste and very small portion. After main dish I left still a bit hungry.

Gyro with roasted potatoes and salad greens. Tasty, mild. Lovely setting, outdoor dining; friendly wait staff - good knowledge of English; Riga Old Town- minutes from the Swedish Gate.

Cosy place in Riga old town. Food is realy great and have nice selection of drinks. If outside is too hot you can always step down into cool celler to enjoy nice interior and maybe have a glass of cold beer at the bar. They open at 2PM so not an option for breakfast, but highly recommended for lunch or to have a rest after day of walking and sightseeing.

Super delicious food. The service was great. It is a really small restaurant. So i recommend a reservation before. I had the salamon and my friend the pasta. Both was great.

I would recommend this place. I had a pasta for a lunch and it was very good. Waiter was professional and good. In the end its a good food for good money. This was my second best place in Riga to eat.

Venison pate had the most amazing flavours finished off with a mediocre beef tartar. Lacked spice (hot sauceand herbs, but very fresh! Not sure about the raw egg yolk on the side, prefer this mixed in with the meat. Overall a cosy little place, reasonably priced and not that busy

A very nice meal on the covered terrace in a little pedestrian street... we had a great time! The staff is pleasant and the chocolat cake was heaven!!!

Food was good but the service really disappointing compared to a high in average service standard in Riga. First the waiter did not bring us a menu for good 5 minutes though the terrace was empty all 3 of them were gone as soon as we arrived , no napkins on the table , we asked to bring ketchup which was ignored, then i had to ask for a bill twice to get it and on top of that the waitress had one of those cant care less faces every time I asked for something, in any case would have perhaps digested all that if not 12% service charge included in the bill. Next time somewhere else.

Lovely place if you go there ask for alkimikis a local beer...I recomand this place nice atmosphere quick service...and they also serv food
