Baloue Balaa - Nature reserve in Tripoli, Lebanon
The rocky nature around Baloue Balaa is just amazing. The natural sinkhole is fascinating to anyone, especially if youre into nature and geology. There are also a lot of activities to do around the site like ziplining, monkey bridge and others.
I would recommend you going in spring since it’s the best season to go to . I went in the summer but sadly their was no water at the time , but the view of the rocks was stunning , but again recommended to go in the spring.
Loved it but saw it in the summer so the waterfall was dried out. But still beautiful 😍
If u have bad cardio then be aware that there are a loooot of stairs on your way back
Better go on holidays or weekend if you tend to do adventures activities as they are currently closing on weekdays
Not sure if it’s worth visiting for 2 reasons:- reaching the gorge includes a dangerous hike with minimal safety and no supervision or assistance once you enter.- no water during this season so it’s just about contemplating the rocks.
The place is well maintained, however we were unlucky as the water flow only starts with winter and ends in April so we didn’t see the waterfall
Amazing natural spectacular place, stop and have a refreshing juice and coffee at Tarabay’s
Amazing landscape! Feel the peace in your heart going there! The journey driving there itself is already incredible as well. One of the most impressive places I have ever been. Easy hike as well. Highly reccomended! 🇱🇧❤️
The hike over there was interesting, and not very tough; would recommend.
Stair rails should be installed asap! Very dangerous for kids and adults.Besides safety measures its a wonderful place, for those who love nature.
So beautiful . So there as many tourists . Really enjoyed it and thought it was the best place i visited in Lebanon with a natural scene have anther activities as well for children such as zipline and good experience
Just go and. Explore this majestic point on earth, best time to visit from April to July when the waterfall will be at its best... Be aware lot of climbing to do
It is over an hour drive from Beirut. The roads are a bit scary. The walk is not for people with knee issues or mobility issues. The fall and the surrounding are breathtaking. If you have kids make sure you watch them all the time. The surrounding is my beautiful too. Make sure you go in winter or spring because the fall dries in summer. The parking is privet and It costs 10k LBP the entrance is also 10k LBP. I recommend to visit this place it is surreal. Check my pics and videos and you will understand.
Absolutely amazing in every meaning it was worth the hike
So wonderful place , for a while u think your self u are inside a movie … its the marvel of nature .If u visite lebanon u should pass by or u will miss one of the most wonderful places in lebanon .
** Aderinaline rush **The place is so interesting in nature , amazing landscape( the waterfall wasnt tgat good bec. Its summertime a bit dry)The activites you fan do their is so nice as well ( monkey bridge, zipline, cable chairthe staff were so helpful and friendly , highly recommeded
Beautiful hike down to the spot. There is a parking space available. Great view and a beautiful Natural Master piece. Not too bad in terms of safety and you could spot the waterfall from far without getting to close. Good to mention that the zipline service is working only on weekends and not on weekdays. Great people working there! I salute them. If you are there, it is a must to visit the close by Al Qarn church (كنيسة سيدة القرن). That is another beautiful spot you dont want to miss.
Must visit. Theres a small fee to enter but the views are worth it. There is a circuit you can do for an additional fee that includes walking on the monkey bridge, rappel to arrive near the waterfall, then telesiege to get back up. Its a bit overpriced but worth doing it for the experience.
Wonderful place , but too dangerous for kids be careful
Chattine-Baatara is a very famous waterfall in Lebanon. This marvelous waterfall is located in a valley after a 4mins walk you will get to see this wonder. This is the first stop if you’re planning to go on a hike. The walking trail can lead you to the other side of the mountain where you get to discover the beautiful Douma.
its rally nice to see this beautiful nature like can you imagine that this hole happen only from water fall its wonder place to be very lovely
A natural marvel to behold. A sinkhole carved by rainfall creating 3 natural bridges . We hiked from nearby Douma a 7km intermediate hike trail but worth the effort. The place should be better visited in early spring with the snow melt to witness the full power of the waterfall and enjoy other activities around the place.
great natural cave formed by 3 bridges and a waterfall in the middle of itentrance is 4000LL/prs a lot of acts to do like zipline and monkey bridge.the road is a bit harsh so make sure to wear suitable boots but its worth the view.better visit it in spring when the waterfall is at its max power.
A beauty piece of living art from mother nature...A must visit place if you ever in Lebanon...Its located north of Beirut... and the ride there is beautiful...Youll have the chance to come very close to the gorge and the water fall...Please keep an eye on your kids once around the gorge...There are other activities that you could do while onsite for additional cost...
Ur visit should be in winter maximum spring to see water. Great Gods creation 🙏
We loved it. I read all the reviews before going there. And honestly some reviews are very much exaggerated. There are no sexurity railings, true... But whoever is scared shouldnt approach that much. The steps are carved in the rocks so they may be slippery but u can walk as well on the sides. The views are breathtaking.
A one of a kind waterfall however in August you can not really see the waterfalls. You can go there by hike (just a few minutes hikingor by activities (bridges and ziplinewhich is very interesting. You can also go back using the teleferique but it is not really recommended since you have to wait so much time due to the queue.
It is a wonderful , beautiful , very comfortable and clean place for having a waterfall and a waterfall that stretches for over 100 meters from among these mountains! But the place does not have any kind of safety I loved this place
Welcome to Pandora. Go there before they do like in the US and for security reasons they locked it up. It is a truly wow place
Amazing place, waterfall extending to more than 250m depth over 3 layers of mountains. One of the world wonder. Highly recommended to visit.
Amazing touristic place. There are car parking where you can park your car and walk down the stairs and the valley ( around 10 minutes walk)and find a breathtaking place with its beautifull waterfall..you can also use the air sitting cable car to reach the waterfall. There is a restaurant down there where you can eat a dish, have a sandwich or only have a cup of coffee. Must be visited.
Extremely beautiful place but the experience is being ruined by lots of kiosks and artificial barriers and touristic restaurants and activities, the kiosks and restaurants should be placed next to the main road and not directly next to the amazing site
Beautiful place for nature lovers where you can see how water shapes the rocks. It is a vertical gorge with a waterfall in spring. It is just beautiful. You can go down walking, by zipline or chairlift. There is also a hanging bridge next to the gorge for adventure lovers. It is a must go to place in Lebanon. There is a parking fee (3000 L.L. and an entrance fee (5000 L.L. ). The zipline and chairlift are for extra cost. But it is worth it if you cant walk down and up.
Wonderful experience. Breathtaking views and scenery. Not ideal for very young children. Bumpy ride but all worth it.
Stunning natural rock/waterfall in Tannourine Lebanon. In summer it does not rain, so there is not a waterfall flowing. Would suggest visiting in early spring to witness the water fall. Keep in mind if you are planning on going, there is a bit of a hike/walk going up and down to the Balaa. There is a sort of ski lift which will take you to the site but there is quite a bit of a steep walk before hand - wear comfy shoes!!
An amazing natural spot. Better to go there in winter and spring to see the waterfall.
If you are looking for a beautiful waterfall with a glamorous background, that s the place for you.Very well maintained site, defintely worth the visit
Nature is amazing! The place is worth visiting.Be careful though, there are no barriers/fences, you can easily trip and fall in the hole. So if you have small kids, dont bring them along.
Amazing scenery this is the beautiful Lebanon but very unprofessional track to walk for 30 minutes from the main road they are busy fixing but things take time in Lebanon. Toilets closed they said because they were dirty and no one to clean them.
Very dangerous place. Safety has to be there. I almost fell down into the sinkhole by just following the path. People behind this "lucrative business" should not ignore the comments below and take actions before they have their first victim. There should be a reason why we are being charged to enter the place advertised as a touristic hotspot.
I enjoyed my visit. The place has been newly renovated. The staff is very welcoming. There are 2 food shops on site that offer average quick food/snacks. Dont expect to see any water falling from the baloue (as seen in picturesif youre coming in summer because youll be disappointed. They also offer a few activities such as ziplining (short distance however).
A must see if you like the outdoors. I can never get over the grandiosity of this place.Note... wear comfortable shoes. The walk back uphill can be difficult for some people. However you can take the cable cart if you can’t walk.I wish the local municipality would make it more tourist friendly. The actual sinkhole is very dangerous if you walk into it. One wrong step and you will fall into the sinkhole.
One of the beautiful natural wonders of Lebanon. Don’t forget to visit this natural water source. It’s a bit of a descent and ascend climb but worth every step!
Very beautiful natural sink hole amazing during month 3-4-5 with the beautiful green herbs all over the place and the beautiful waterfall disapearing into the hole with water carved wallz + sport activities to enjoy the place like zip lining, crossing bridges, and deacending on ropes from up the cliffs
The best season to visit this waterfall is spring, when the water flood is full. You pay entrance fee and take a short trip by walk to get there. Its a little bit dangerous to walk after the rain because the soil is slippery.
Soooooo beautiful. I also came during the winter season so there was not as many tourist. Really enjoyed it and thought it was the best place I had visited in Lebanon with a natural scene. It wasn’t expensive at all only cost 4000 Ll for entrance. They have other activities as well for children such as zip-lining. I would definitely recommend to anyone.
wonderful place to visit. Breathtaking views. Another miracle of nature! However, The hike to the destination is hard and you should watch every step, sometimes its dangerous and you might fall in the hole.
Great view once you reach your destination, but the way there is not easy. The hike is steep and slippery and there are no security barriers. However, there is a zipline over the worst part of the hike for an additional nominal fee. Also, there are rest stops in the middle of the trail and at the end of it.This place is ideally visited in the spring because in the summer the heat and sun dont make for an enjoyable experience.
Have been there many timesThis place is absolutely amazing ..The Bottom Adventure is highly recommend for hiking and nature lovers
