Bálna - Shopping Centre in Budapest IX. kerület, Hungary
Very nice place for a coffee and also y have a nice view of the river
Nice
From outside its better than from the inside, it is not fully used, still it has a nice view and few good places for a snack and a drink
Great location, fantastic view, mediocre building. Now its used as a shopping mall. Few, kinda neglected stores, bored, ignorant people 😑.
Spectacular architecture, which made the visit worthwhile to take photos. Otherwise, was just very disappointed by the lack of things to do in the building. Other than restaurants and bars on one side of the complex, there were no shops or attractions, so my visit was very brief.
Good place for drinks and hangout with friends.
Beautiful building with a few cool bars, but the rest of it is empty
Empty space, full of nothingness. Not sure what is the point of this buildings existence other than breeding mosquitos. There are 3 bars by the building and thats it, but you dont need to enter the bar from inside the building. It is more convenient to access it directly from the riverside.
A good place with a good view and a good coffe ☕️
Just one nice terrace-bar
Too expensive for what is on the menu. Music was too laud.
Nice place with a lot of nice bars with nice view and DJs as well as live music sometimes.
Cozy place, good arts and a cool view. Approved 😃👌🏼
Enjoy sunset with lounge music 🎶 dont forget they jave really nice drinks too.
Bálna, Whale in English, is a building that is remarkable by its silhouette and great location on the river Danube. Housed in what used to be a warehouse or 2, the complex features restaurants, art galleries and a couple of stores. The interior of the complex is still underutilized, years after the completion of the building in 2014. The waterfront section is the most popular. It contains a number of restaurants and cafes with terraces right on the Danube. People gather after work for drinks and dinner.
Not recommending for shopping (almost emptyor something. It could be good to to sit out next to the river
classic hungarian home made food and excellent beer
I don’t understand how rating is 4.1 for this place. Service here is just can’t be worse I think. Places like that should have manager at least, you order some drink and wait for that for 30 minutes, they serve food without even napkins, and there are so many things to note, their waiters are totally impolite and rude. Only one good thing about this place is location, the view on Danube.
Beautiful place with nice sunset views.Would give 5⭐ but service was slow...
Very nice places to sit and drink and eat right by the blue Danube you have to go see this place.
Art and Antique kiallítás
Every time Ive visited, half of the shops were closed for some reason. Its in a great place but not really a good destination if youd like to shop around.
It’s a zero star. We went it, said hello to the waitress twice, she didn’t bother reply to us. Sat for 10 minutes at a table, never got served lol. SKIP THIS PLACE
Nice cost place to spend an evening at.The view of the sunset over the Gellért Hill is amazing. Alao the shopping complex is a good place to explore. If you are here in winters then maybe you can also try ice skating here its a ton of fun..
Esetleg bistro is a good place but the servic was so slow and i have to asked them twice to check our orders. The pumpkin soup was delicius but not warm enough. I wasnt satisfied with the service
One of my favourite places in the city. Great cuisine, comfy chairs, incredible view and free ice skating rink in the winter
Lovely view, chill, great music, nice waitresses 🥰😍☕️ perfect Sunday afternoon coffee for the ladies and beer for the men🍻 😍🌅🌆 our date time ♥️
Nice building with interesting exhibitions
Its almost empty, I havent seen any shops as we passed through and the restrooms are out of order. Also the hand sanitizer was exhausted when we got there, which in times like these is a delicate matter.
Nice place to watch sunset.
Smallish mall shaped like a whale, came here for an evening event and we really enjoyed it. Be sure to drop by the in-house pub for some good local craft beer.
Liked the architecture a lot, the fusion of antique with modern, the space could be better used
Theres nothing here. There are two restaurants and a café here, thats it. No shops or anything else. Completely dead.
Old warehouse in a modern, whale-ish shell, restaurants, beerpubs and stores can be found inside. Unfortunately half of the shops is still unrented.
Love this contemporary building. Nice to see it from Budas hills or riverside. Inside bars and restaurants, some designers shops, but also quite a few empty stores. Its usually quiet and very clean, toilets as well. Theres a very relaxing lighting and atmosphere, so its a pleasure to walk through while strolling along the Danube. I find it fits in harmoniously with the surroundings.
Exhibition and conference center. Cool to have an outside skate during winter season, but no one taking care of it, so sometimes beater on it. Nice to see the seasonal exhibition like the Mézeskalács (gingerbreadbuildings - be ready to stay in the line for an hour.
Very nice, modern building, but many shops are closed (too high rental fees?). You can find mainly restaurants. Toilets need maintenance, damage caused by water can be seen in the walls, a new layer of painting would improve the impression...
Strange place with wierd setup of shops. Empty places, the whole basement and first floor are dark. The “balna terasz” has very good view on River Danube
İts a shopping mall but its really nothing there except nice bars and restaurants where you can relax and enjoy the view..
It’s not touristic place. When you go to Budapest with a tour agency, probably this place will not be one of your stops. But since it’s really close to city centre, you may easily arrive there by a short walking (almost 15-20 min from Deakter). You will meet stores with different designed-souvenirs and their designers. Café and restaurants by Duna welcome you! One of must-to-see places of Budapest.
The place is externally good looking but nearly empty from the inside. There are only some few folk clothes stores, handcraft and souvenir shops (with very high prices), very few cafes and bars, and one gallery on the top floor which was not open upon my visit. There are still empty stores and very few people were there, naturally. No supermarket 🛒 is available yet. I hope they turn it into a useful shopping centre soon.
A kind of shopping centre that has many empty units. It feels deserted and unvisited, despite being recently refurbished. Maybe they are still trying to attract shops in. But when we went it was largely empty, except for a few pointless gift and craft shops. I think it would be good if it had some real shops and some cafés.
Nice place , quite & less crowded. We had an great show here.
Worth checking in because of the great view on Buda side (Gellért hotel, University, the ship transit on the Danube). Prepare your wallet for the easybut tasty quite expensive foods that are served around the place, cause you pay mostly the view and not the food (somewhat similar to the Király street restaurant prices). Have a nice sunbath in one of the sunloungers prepare for your comfort and enjoy the sounds of the Danube.
Beautiful building which combines new with old creating great atmosphere. However there was a lot of empty space. Still found an amazing vintage Shop downstairs. Also several restaurants To choose from.
Bálna is a masterpiece of architecture on the riverbank of the Danube. Unique artsy Hungarian stores are great to buy souvenirs. It also has cafes with nice menu. The best part is the view though! Enjoyed visiting it while living in Budapest.
Huge place. Variety of many shops. Nice place you can eat food and buy Hungarian made gifts. You can eat food. Most shop keepers almost all ask for cash Euro or local currency Hungarian Forint. You can some time bargain wit the shop keepers.
Amazing market placeVery cheap and good purchaseIncludes eatery and souvenir
Only went there for a drink, so did not want to over comit the rating. A few options, all facing the Danube with great patios. A lounge chair waterfront was a great place to enjoy a beer after climbing the Citadel. The different resto/bars offer a variety of beers, the standards but also have some craft beers which arent as easily found.
Great building but loads of empty spaces.Great food with outdoor seating.
