Ballina Manor Boutique Hotel in Ballina

Ive had the opportunity to stay at the Ballina Manor several times since March for work and every stay has been comfortable and welcoming. The staff are fantastic and the rooms are clean and cosy.

An absolutely beautiful historical building we loved the large spacious room and king bed with attention to detail, beautiful balcony with lovely views, with excellent hosts Hannah and Gersch, after arriving in town so late, Hannah was so accommodating for us , even offering to help bring our luggage in, what a gem ! We love this place and will definitely spread the word and will be staying again on our next travel through Ballina!Sarah and Mark.

Quentisentially a Grand and Majestic Edwardian styled Queenslander of yesteryear. Painstakingly restored and metcuiosly and lovingly refurbished by our proud hosts Hannah and Gersch. They have captured the bygone era of the 1800s to offer an immaculate and meticuosly presented establishment well worthy of a long weekend or longer. This is your serene home away from home for a time of reflection and introspectivity. In the quiet surroundings enjoying coffee on private verandahs you cant help but be transported back in time.. yet only minutes walk from the bustling shops of Ballina, Henry Rous Tavern and the Maritime Museum. Sure…. you can stay at Ramada with a river view……at twice the price…. But you would miss out on the ambience and nostalgic modern recreation of the Edwardian era. In summer time the landscaped Gardens and pool area are an absolute delight to enjoy.

French doors, wraparound deck, period furniture, brocade drapes, “Agatha Christie” staircase combined with thick pile carpet, crisp linen, comfortable bed, modern ammenities, double shower. This hotel is a rare breed. A beautifully renovated love letter to yesteryear. Thoroughly recommended for a romantic weekend away.

EDIT: One year on, and we returned for a second stay. The hotel has had a stunning renovation. Still our favourite hotel in Ballina 👌🏻Comfortable, quiet & well managed 🌳What a lovely heritage hotel. The staff were friendly & helpful (thanks for my mirror 🤦‍♀️We had a room, which opened out onto the upstairs balcony - perfect for enjoying the pink sunset, with a glass of wine 🍷The location was very quiet & a short trip into town.In keeping with its heritage, the room itself looks old & dated. I feel the decor could be brought into the modern age, while still keeping its heritage look. That said, the room, & bathroom, were both clean & comfortable, which is more important for me. The bed was very comfortable & a special thank you for the scrumptious white towels.Parking on site & wifi very good.Would definitely recommend this hotel 👍🏻

What a find! This quality hotel is so CLEAN, with beautiful quality French linen bedding, cushions, throws creating a modern, luxury feel to complement the heritage architecture. Communication was also excellent. Location central. We will definitely stay here again.

Beautifully restored old manor house. We had a lovely spacious attic room with its own private balcony and wonderful views. We very much enjoyed our stay. Hosts were very helpful and good communication.

Warm professional hospitality from Hanna and Gersch; quality renovation of a landmark heritage building; spacious comfortable rooms, peaceful and private courtyard. Perfect place for a family gathering (had six rooms- felt indulged as we celebrated an important occasion. Thank you so much. Will be back.

Fantastic boutique hotel. Rooms are oversized with full new but classically styled bathrooms and access to veranda style balconies. A 100 year old building which feels sturdy and comfortable, with tall ceilings and a romantic staircase. It significantly exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend for a romantic weekend away or somewhere to escape to for a relaxing night or two to unwind.

Closed due to floods when I visited on 9 March 2022. Not sure when it will reopen.Hope everyone who experienced these 2022 Northern Rivers Floods is doing okay. Positive thoughts to you all. X

What a delightful place to stay!Everything was perfect. We loved having the balcony to enjoy and the period furniture was so fitting for the manor. I never heard another guest which surprised me. The staff were helpful and very professional. An easy 6 minute walk to the town center and delicious, amazing French restaurant. We will definitely be staying again.

My new husband and I have travelled the Eastern coast from Melbourne on the way to Brisbane. We had many stops along the way but none of the accommodation places hold a candle to the Ballina Manor Boutique Hotel. For the price of the accommodation, the luxury you get is above and beyond. The maintenance of the manor is impeccable. The rooms are spacious, clean and find a beautiful balance between the traditional features of the manor and modern decor of a luxury hotel. The management team sends out clear instructions on how to check in to allow for minimal interaction with staff (very safe during this covid climate). They were also very accommodating of us being on our Honeymoon and made us feel so special. Even though you don’t necessarily need to see the management staff (all communication via messagingyou still feel their warm and welcoming presence.Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would recommend this place to anyone coming to Ballina and will definitely come again!

What a delightful stay at this gorgeous manor house. With so much attention to detail given to every aspect of our room to make it as comfortable as possible, we really can’t fault anything! We loved our comfy king size bed with luxury linen and the added touch of a complimentary small breakfast in our rooms. The hosts were so lovely and even provided us some additional bottled water free of charge upon request. We will definitely stay here again if we find ourselves in Ballina again and will highly recommend them to all our friends.

An outstanding hotel. So much heritage and history but newly renovated so has all the modern amenities but tastefully designed to reflect the era. We had a room upstairs with doors out to the expansive balcony. The bed was so comfortable and we had pod coffee, muesli and yoghurt supplied for our breakfast which was perfect. We highly recommend the Ballina Manor for a stay.

What a beautiful place to stay! The old charm is preserved with the renovations in a very respectful way. Our room was so nice and cosy, the beds are extremely comfortable and the owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond to ensure youre comfortable and have everything you need. If we visit Ballina again, I know where we will be staying!

Stayed for 4 nights as a group of us were on a golf weekend.Delicious breakfast - nicely restored rooms.Walking distance to town.Works well as a stay of a few days or an overnight en route north or south..

Lovely old building with old world charm.Comfortable and homely and currently decorated in heritage furnishings.Good luck with new renovations about to happen.Looking forward to seeing its transformation with a heritage style still intact.

Weve booked 2 months in advance and our expectations were really high! Is this really a 5* hotel? If you need anything nobody is downstairs at the reception to assist you. No Restaurant or bar at the hotel and either a spa! The room was dusty, milk in the fridge in a brick covered with a foil, which you dont  know from where is coming from and which type of milk is it, bed sheets  are not comfortable at all, I understand that you want to revive the past but we couldnt sleep as the sheets where scratchy and not suitable for your skin! In the bathroom many things where missing such us a "vanity kit" a glass and on regards soap and shampoo where only one which as two people we had to be careful to use the enough amount!!! The A/C was directly in our face located on the top of the bed and even if we tried to switch it off was still running, no ecofriendly at all!!! so far I would rate this as a 3* or even 2* hotel! I conclude saying that you have to review your stars as its not following the international 5* hotel standards

Large open bedrooms. Mattress was spongey. Great bathrooms with large shower.Verandah was next to air conditioning outlets so a liitle noise outside. All good otherwise. Pleasant office staff

Definitely stay again. Lovely little room on ground floor which opened out to a spacious shared verandah . Nice place to sit for an afternoon glass of wine. Great breakfast and great staff.

Such a beautiful Manor- so comfortable, so private, so quiet, so rich in ambiance . Our stay was a mix of business and holiday as it turned out and for sure we recommend with high marks. What a find!! From Patricia and Christophe

We stayed for 3 nights and it was awesome. Nice and quiet nice and private and the staff were very efficient. Lovely room with an amazing shower. We will be back.

This was a superb stay. Only one night but will return for longer. Gorgeous room decorated in the traditional style with our own verandar. Spotlessly clean with very comfortable bed. Wonderful restaurant, has to be the best in town for dinner and delicious breakfast. Delightful staff and owners. Cannot fault Ballina Manor Boutique Hotel.

We stayed overnight at this hotel. I cant speak too highly of it. The building, a restored early 1900s school, was full of history and character and restored in an authentic way. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had chosen a larger room with a king size bed and spa bath. It was lovely with doors opening out onto the porch. The restaurant again was full of period features and the Snapper we had for the main course was exceptional. A lovely sticky date pudding was had for desert. Breakfast at the restaurant was great also. We were sad to leave. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to come back.

Wow Wow Wow what a great stay, absolutely loved it from the moment we checked in to the time we left. All staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable with good tips and advice for the area. Proximity to town was excellent, just a short walk. The property is spotlessly clean, our room was spacious and styled with quality period furniture and accessories. Meals in the dining room were delicious and fantastic value for money compared to other options in town. We couldn’t have asked for more and we will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful experience here. The hotel is an old boarding house which has been beautifully restored and furnished to give you a taste of the grandeur of years gone by. But dont worry, the service and amenities are totally modern. Thoroughly recommend.

We enjoyed a lovely time at Ballina Manor. Nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful interior and rooms. The food was 5 star.It has new owners and I cant recommend it enough.

We loved staying at the Manor hotel, rich with history and adorable antique furniture. We did have an issue on the first night with our room, but the staff were quick to resolve it for us and we were really grateful. They also have a great little restaurant with excellent coffee. It’s historic... but services 👎🏿 How can this been rated as a 5 star ?? No free wifi no hangers supplied for clothes to hang,, the Door in the front annoying that u have to use key to open only one set of keys supplied .. not impressed,, restaurant closed Sunday ? milk supplied in small milk jug?wrapped in cling wrap.. Supplied pillows almost needs to throw away Coz it’s too flat already stayed in standard queen size room ,, Disappointing never expected for such highly rated but NOT

We visited Ballina Manor for dinner last night. The flavours were amazing, compliments to chef. Cosy ambience with a log fire and surprisingly affordable. The staff were attentive and met our every need. Didnt even phase chef to change my order at the last minute... no problems. Definite would highly recommend

Dined at the Manor restaurant with my wife and our friends after hearing that the place is under new ownership.It was superb.The hotel has a lovely presence on the street. If you’re a fan of federation era architecture, you’ll love the interiors of this place.Upon entry, we met the owner who was most hospitable, took us through into the dining room and seated us whilst explaining some of the new changes to the Manor. All the staff who looked after us during the evening were warm & attentive without being intrusive.I was pleased with the menu, it appealed to our various tastes and was of exceptional quality and presentation without being too ‘high brow’. And the various wines were perfectly suited to the meals.The new proprietors have really done this historic hotel justice and I look forward to our return!

Absolutely loved this heritage Manor. Exemplary staff, excellent food and great location. The staff obviously love their jobs. They were so kind and giving. They even offer free tours of the 12 rooms (the vacant onesand tell you the history of the building. Would highly recommend it to everyone.

Canapes on the verandah with drinks followed by delicious main meals in the dining room by the fire. Good selection on the menu, nice wine and our hostess Grace was very attentive. A lovely intimate gathering with tasty meals in a cosy setting.

I took my wife to Ballina Manor for her birthday for a nite. We drove down from the Gold Coast and explored the country we usually drive by going somewhere else. From the moment we pulled into the driveway we knew it was special. The greeting, the champagne and chocolates and strawberries. The rain did not matter. We loved our room and a spa bath before dinner was wonderful. Dinner felt like we owned a stately manor home with staff. It was ours for the night. The delivery of warm berries over ice cream to our room after dinner added to the occasion. If you love someone, take them here for a night or two. If you drive through or past Stop and Stay! Your trip, your life and your memories will be changed forever. You cannot forget a stay at Ballina Manor.
