I made the mistake of thinking it wouldnt be a typical awful tourist trap because its not straight on Galata bridge and it was full of locals, but I was wrong. It had it all - menus with already unreasonable prices and vaguely written numbers so you dont know wether its 1 or 4, mediocre fish, an awfully loud terrace full of smoke, items they put on your bill even though you flat out refused, and a surprise 40 (FORTY% service surcharge at the end.Maybe locals order from a different menu, I dont know. Good luck then.

Unfortunately I didnt read the reviews before we went there for dinner with my husband and my son. BE CAREFUL GUYS! The food is ok (not very good, but okbut THEY CHEAT, THEY LIE, THEY SCAM. AND THEY DO IT ON PURPOSE! Same situation with me as described in other reviews- they write some really huge price for something you ordered and pretend you didnt ask for the price in advance. Its a shame, really. I thought turkish people are usually nice and helpful but they left at me the feeling that this is no longer the reality in this town.

Seemed nice, then charged us 1500TL (£75!!for a bottle of house white wine and £35 for an average plate of mixed mezze. We only realised the scam after wed paid the group bill split, but seriously: make sure you check the bill properly!! Otherwise food was nice (shrimp stew and calamari were stand outs!and the setting lovely!

They cheating with price - there is no word in menu for pricing for grams, and finally they will bring you insane check.

WARNINGFake stars on google.This tourist trap located just next to famous place.They don’t provide a menu with prices - you can not be sure, is it 200 or 900 - but compare to prices in all of other restaurants around, you are sure that it is “200” in the menu.In the end they bring to you a huge bill.I checked prices for a same dishes in the next door restaurants and the price is 4-5 times lower.Hey, google, let’s take away their stars and delete them from the map!)

One of the few similar spots on that stretch of the embankment with street food. Food is good enough; they find it normal to add a large bottle of water to your bill even if you order other drinks. Just come to the table and pour water in glasses, whyyyy!

We stopped there as we were tired, order a glass of wine and an entre from the menu to eat.Unfortunately it was not good. As weWe’re about to order something else we red the other reviews placed for this restaurant.We ran out of there to avoid any misunderstandings.

I can’t figure out why this place’s rating is so low. We had the sea bass, the mixed meze platter, french fries, köfte, and it was all excellent. We picked the fish after asking which items were freshest.Plus, we got the sunset view of Sultanahmet and a complimentary surprise fruit plate at the end.Everyone else was locals.

For tourists it’s a trap (read other reviews). Don’t accept random fish with no prices. It’s a pity because the fish was actually delicious. If it wasn’t for that I’d definitely go back.

THE WORST RESTAURANTE IN ISTANBUL.Tourists trap!!!!!! FOR AVOIDING, get a bill with extra prices of services which is 20 eur!! Shame on you workers! For that money we could eat in some lux restaurant with same paid service!!!! They randomly give pirces for fish, on the meni they put "ASK FOR PRICE" !!! He said as that 1 kg cost 300 TL (about 20 eurand on the bill he put 900 TL (about 60 eur !!! After we ask, he said that we didnt understand good and that fish is so fresh so the price is for that. After reciving a bill you cant do nothing except to go further and not let it ruin your vacation. Any way, for that price we could eat in same very very luxery restaurant.SHAME ON EVERYBODY FROM RESTAURANT! Tourists be carful when you see "ASK" comment instead of the price, like on this picture, its trap ofcourse!!!!

Went and the waiter tried drying my partners hair with napkins even after she asked him not to.Ordered fish and then was very ill in the night and the next morning.

The view and food are just amazing

Be careful the owner of the restaurant try to add extra charge on our bill and blame us for not reading the menu well , we ask for one porch he put 4 and increase the price , he did not admit it till we called police, be careful from this restaurant and always check your bill before the confirm the order

This is the worst place I have visited in Istanbul in past 3 years. I am sorry I cant put zero stars.This place is a rip off. I dont know about food, but they charged us 780TKL for shisha and 1 bottle of wine. In the end they add extra 10% service fee to the bill. The bottle of wine, which they charged us 480TKL is normaly sold for 115TKL!!!The fact that they also brought water, cheese and nuts, TELLING us its FREE GIFT and then in the end put it in the bill doesnt even worth mentioning.Very sad experience!

Worst experience in Istanbul! It is the first time I put a comment on Google but this one deserves it.We ordered a seabass for 2 and have been charged 450 lira for it whereas all the price on the menu where close to 50-60 lira. When we asked the reason of this price the waiter explained that we ate 1.5kg fish... we do not believed him but had no chance to prove anything.Nothing special in the food, but pure feeling of having beeing abused at the end.We recommend all tourists to go somewhere else.

Attention! Divorce for tourists money. High price!!!The barker invites you to the second floor. In the menu, the price is not clear for what.In the uants it turns out that they cunningly believe, or rather insolently inflate prices.Seabass costs 50 liras per 1 kg, and in total it will cost 880. Shrimp will cost more than 660 lira for a few pieces. The pictures in the menu are not clear. At the next table there will be a couple, a girl and a guy, and they will say that they are lawyers.They brought us a bill for 1280 lire for one fish, sea bass and shrimp. They are strictly demanding to pay an inflated amount. Call the police, they are afraid of her. Only with the police can you get your money back. Be careful!

Beware, this restaurant is a scam. The prices for their fish on the menu become 10 times as expensive when the bill arrives and you will be charged for fruit, cheese, and whatever else they bring to your table unasked for as if it is a gift of the restaurant. As if thats not bad enough, their cooking is nothing special to begin with. Save yourself the time and money and eat somewhere else.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Haliç. Welcoming staff, especially Mehmet. I always enjoy having Balik Ekmek here, the cook always does a wonderful job. The views over the water are flabbergasting, I highly recommend to both tourists and locals. Maximum satisfaction.

This is an wonderful place, me and my fiancée like to return here. We particularly enjoy Balik Ekmek. The staff is very welcoming, especially Mehmet. Çay is very tasty and the quality of food is superb. The hygiene is very good as well, there are hand sanitizers on each table and the views over the water are stunning.

One of the coziest raki places in Istanbul! Atmosphere is excellent duento its sheddy design-built on top of two aged trees. Service is fast and waiters are quite friendly. They will even recognize you at your second visit! Its a place to go with friends or alone. Music is not loud so you are able to make great conversations even with other lovely guests. Prices are moderate concerning the location and the view of the historical peninsula lands an inner-peace immediately.

Very disappointing experience as the guys tricked me so badly and I had to pay 500 lira in the end (dinner for 1 person), Im traveling on a budget and I eat out a week with that money. They kept bringing things I hadnt ordered and that I wouldnt be able to eat nor pay, but I did indeed have to pay. I asked how much would it be for eating before ordering and instead of bringing the menu he said like 40 lira and I ended up paying more than 10 times more. Definitely no respect for tourists here, sad experience in my first day in Istanbul, Im definitely never coming back.

Totally rip-off!! Terrible service, rubbish food, everything over-priced to the quality of food they offered!! I even found a hair in my fish!! What astonishing was after I pointed out the hair, the waiter took away my dish without even an apology or offer an replacement of my food or any other compensation!! And he had the balls to come back with a bill to charge me full price!! I had to argue to get 10 tl discount off the bill!! A totally disgusting dinning experience in Istanbul!!👎🏼👎🏼

Beautiful sights and delicious food

Worst food and service experience for a 5 day trip to Istanbul. Prices does not correspond to quality of the food. Ordinary dishes for top level prices. Food is nothing special, service is really bad. Toilets bettor not to use. On top of that they write wrong prices in final receipt and add service charge. Don’t recommend to anyone. The view is great, but that’s it!

A nice restaurant with friendly waiters. The view is wonderful, just on the side of Bosphorus, in the new promenade. They cook very good starters. I recommend the smoked mackerel, the hummus, and the ezme if you like spicy food. They have beer (which is always good newsand the bathroom is clean and wide. They have fresh fish and a good eggplant cream. Nice view of the mosques. I recommend it if you are hanging out in the zone.

Bad quality of food and their prices are not clear. They try to take advantage of tourists. They seem pretty kind at first, but after you order barely pay attention to you.By the way, they add 10% to your bill.

Food was not the best but ok. Went there with a Swiss-Tunisian friend, and the owner after asking about where we come from (Germany and Switzerlandthen just called him Arab Arab and made rude, unnecessary, totally closed-minded remarks. Such an unpleasant, sad experience. Therefore 1 Star.

Tourist trap. They tell you one price but in the end they charge you more on the fish price. They try to charge you salad and fruit you did not ask.

Unless you are one of those people who expect to experience miracles-great views, reasonable price, fresh ingredients, wonderful taste at the same time-this place would be worth a visit.What could you expect from a dinky restaurant? It has good views and the prices arent terrifying. Thats pretty much it. I wouldnt try the grills because stale fish smells more when grilled. Rather, I had butter shrimp, and was satisfied. Its not a freaking Michelin Star, but its what I expected.Main dish 30~50 liras. Views are terrific. Food is acceptable.
