The restaurant is very nice. It is designed in more architectural way revealing the culture of Oman. Various places of eating are available of different styles tables with chairs, eating down while seating on the small furniture, seating on the mat and others. However one place to be improved is that the quantity of food has to be increased on serving.

Very nice place, nice setting. Service was good.The food was good, a good Omaní experience but it just missed a little of flavours to justify the price I think.

Food and atmosphere are good but it is massively overpriced compared to the local price level. You will find same quality much cheaper in Oman.

True arabian feel, clean, good service and amazing food

We walked in on a Tuesday night and it was quite busy, but still they managed to find us a place within 5 min. If you want to sit outside or in one of the low tables, or are a bigger group, do call in advance and make a reservationA good number of vegetarian options as well: I had the okra stew and my friend had a lamb dish. The ambience is nice and the food is too, but what adds to the charm are the small things they add on: serving frankincense flavored water at the beginning, Omani coffee and dates at the end, all in all a nice dining out experience

Tough to rate this one. Muttrah does not have much to offer so by far the best restaurant available for those not wanting to drive outside the area.Everything we tried was good but I wouldn’t say great. The prices are high so great can be expected.Friendly staff and nice experience with coffee and dates to conclude the meal. Overall very good but missing that bit of extra flavor needed for 5 stars and to justify $15 plates.

I have to say overrated. The food was OK nothing special, quite expensive. If youre looking for top quality local food there are many better places in muscat

Authentic Omany fine dining at its best highly recommend. With spatacular viwes of Muttrah cornish and authentic Omani arcitsture and ambiance. The sent of frankincense as you walk in and rose water for your hands once you leave. Amazing attention to details and the menu was well put together. I liked the variaity of food from all over Oman simply must try. Ideal for inviting guests from outside Oman once visiting Mattrah souq. My only comment would be to haire Omani waiters to complete the experiance

Welcoming staff of a Filipina and South Asians into a lovely diners with warm lighting and cultural decor (as seen from furnishings and crockery). There is floor and table seating, not to mention, balcony alfresco dining, if you fancy the warm coastal air accompanying your seafood 😅.Aside from the disappointing shuwa with lamb that wasnt tender, I loved my mix grill seafood platter that had Omani spice (special request), and date shake was interestingly yummy, having a little coffee taste, with the blend being of dates, milk and ice cream. Loved the unique experience of drinking frankincense water, and spraying the fragrance on myself in the washroom, and having rose water poured onto hands upon exiting the restaurant.

It was a great Omani dining experience. The atmosphere and interior were truly Omani and both appetizer and main dishes were very delicious. There were mainly locals during our visit but the staff was very attentive, friendly and helpful for us to feel comfortable and enjoy food and time there. The prices are quite in a high-segment but worth considering the quality. I strongly recommend this place if you seek out something Omani to eat.

At first i thought their prices too much, but i ordered omani shiwa sandwich and it was a big portion with plenty of side dishes. It worth every baiza.Only the waiters take long time to take ur order...regardless their big number just standing doing nothingOrder came out in only 5min

Second time eating here and it was FSN both times. I had the shuma roasted lamb, my friends try the seafood platter and fish and we were all very happy.

This restaurant comes highly-recommended from locals and great if youre looking for a traditional Omani cuisine dining experience. The building is notable for having traditional accents and decor and situated opposite of the Muttrah Fish Market. Opt for the air-conditioned, indoor seating if youre visiting during summer. We were welcomed with frankincense/luban water as we sat in the open majlis seating which has a more traditional feel.We ordered the highly-recommended and best-selling Shuwa, Saloonat Rubyan, and Katchori and they all tasted great — some maybe better than other dishes.

Great interior ambiance. Stunning views of the sea and mountains. Excellent and attentive service. Food is ok (had the lamb), not amazing. The portion of lamb was very generous. Unexpected add-ons such as the frankincense water, dates and coffee. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and would recommend it.

Nice vicinity.... Goodd view from the restaurant...to search for the entrance is a bit difficult or different u can say... Its on ist floor.. U have to take the lift or stairs from back doorr...

Mr. Dharmendra suggested us a dish SHUWA hands down the best dish we didnt want to eat anything else . We were served a drink Luban made of frankincense tree. AMAZING

If you want to have authentic Omani food, this is surely the place. Their Suwa is a must try. It’s the tastiest thing I have had in my trip. Not very expensive as well, a lunch or dinner for two should be anything between 15 to 25 Rials. Also, this is at the absolute peak of the main cornice, so a visit to this place is not very difficult.

Great atmosphere and variety of traditional omani food. They also have some international options. Atenttion was great and they understood english

If you want to taste Omani traditionnal food, This is the place to be. Take the Shuwa if you love marinated meat. Eat on the ground or at a table. They serve you à franckincense water which is pretty good.The price are about 70euros for two main course, drinks and desert.

Food was excellent and very tasty. Access to restaurant by an external side path and then a lift or unlit staircase. Not the most appealing Access or exit.

There was a good sampling of traditional foods. We tried several and some were better than others. The restaurant is on the top floor and the entry is on the right side of the building. The food is about $20 or so per plate. Sit outside to enjoy a view of the water (one directionbut the other person’s view won’t be as nice. If you sit inside it is air conditioned.

What a lovely traditional Omani restaurant, the starters, mains and desert were fantastic, if you guys visit this place you must try the lamb shawar which is Omani Lamb slow cooked underground overnight, its a real treat

Ambience good, service good but there’s always scope for improvement, location easily accessible and adequate parking, pricing a tad bit more but then you don’t mind paying when the food is good and the portions served adequate, multiple items tried and each item held its standard, overall a pleasant experience and definitely worth a visit

Came there five times during my 2 week stay in Muscat. They have really good vegan options. The ambience looked really cozy. The staff provided excellent service during each visit.

Tried the shuwa and it was delicious -best lamb Ive ever had. Tamarind drink was also so tasty and refreshing! Great value for money and the staff are so helpful and polite.

Absolutely gorgeous interior however I didn’t feel the food was overly great.There were no signs to get to the restaurant and google map did not directly lead us there. The restaurant is on top of a bank; entrance is through a narrow alleyway and a flight of upstairs (lift is available). There’s indoor and outdoor seating.Bait Al Luban is highly rated and recommended even from locals however in my opinion it’s more of a hyped up-market restaurant. The meat/seafood skewer were a little dry and tough. At the end of the meal, they serve you dates and coffee. As you leave they give rose water for your hands.

Nice place to try local Omani food. We were a large group and sat in a private room, which was very nice. It was a new experience to eat sitting on the floor too - definitely felt more traditional.We ordered the dishes to share - the curries were great, the meat dishes good and the frankincense water was very interesting.It did feel slightly touristy, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing as they were very accommodating (they made white sauce pasta for the kids).Taking a stroll along the water nearby is cool too.

The food was delicious. Authentic Omani cuisines. Worth coming here at least once if you are in Muscat. Prices were expensice but worth it. Ambiance was amazing, clean. Staffs are helpful.

Very nice restaurant, has traditional Omani/ Irani food, chicken, meat, and seafood. The atmosphere is very traditional and you can sit on old arabic tables, the service is great, you get very good value of the money you paid

After a stroll on on the corniche, this is a perfect restaurant at the end of the street to walk to! Definitely a must visiting Oman to try the authentic Omani food, in a very premium, clean and delicious way! We didn’t have reservations but we’re able to get seated right away which was nice. There is an area if you want to sit on the floor on pillows traditional style, or in table and chairs. They also had a small patio. The service was excellent. We both got the celebration meal of the Shuwa (lamb roasted on a fire for 6 hours- delicious!! Thank you!

Good location in front of the port.The atmosphere is very nice and typical.Staff friendly and welcoming,aware of the good manners.Wide choice of typical Omani food.We had offered some water with cardamom.We got 3 appetisers, meat and seafood skewers, spicy fish soup and aubergines in garlic sauce. All of them amazing. Tasty and fresh. Seriously good.As main we had-the famous shuwa, the lamb was melting in your mouth.-mix of grilled sea food. AMAZING, shame we couldnt taste the lobster too much due to the sauce.-the prawn curry wasnt the tastiest but it was still good.But the seafood one, all plates were very large accompanied by lots of rice.We didnt get to try the desserts as too full but we had espresso accompanied by dates.We spent 60 oman rial,fair for the amount of food we got.And on our way out waiter kindly gave us some rose water to refresh our hands.Very good dinner!

If you are looking for an authentic Omani food experience, this is the right place. Starting from the great location seeing Mutrah Cornish and the welcoming staff waiting for you. You can also find an Arabic seating there. First, you will get a welcoming drink of water with Luban and at the end you will receive Omani coffee with Dates. Food is delicious and prices are average.

Along with my friends, went for Iftar. It was really good. They are having 2 standard set menu for OMR 12 and OMR 16, which is for two person. And if it is single person OMR 9Ambience was great and food was excellent. If you are just two people, then try for the balcony seats.

We came here for the infamous shuwa which did not disappoint one bit. We also had a curry which was served with a side of Omani flatbread. The interior is very beautiful - they have traditional floor seating also. Each table had a bowl of delicious sweet dates. Ps. Muscat is incredibly beautiful!

Excellent lunch & very helpful staff. Most of the dishes are local & there is a very good choice including vegetarian. Main courses are large. No alcohol served but there cold drinks are great. You can pay with credit card.

what a beautiful and fancy restaurant! we went as we were offered a 20% discount when purchasing entry tickets the textile museum and had the most expensive lunch!loved the frankinsence water and ice cream plus the food, service and ambience.

Great location offers dining in a nicely designed traditional setting, with a views over the sea that you can enjoy on their balcony. The local dishes are quite tasty especially the shiwa, their prawn curry is also good. I would stir away from the grilled fish, its not their specialty. Their dessert dishes are quite delicious, you have to try the cheese fingers.
