Not Bad
A place NOT TO BE MISSED during a visit to muscat.Actually, I visited this place twice, because I didnt have enough of it from the first time.An old Omani house converted into a museum for local culture and omani history. The interior is an architectural masterpiece especially the woodwork, spaces and light. Some of the rooms has been converted into media tools to explain the geological formation of Omaan as well as history timeline.
A recommended place to visit while in Muscat. In 40 minutes you get the gist of this beautiful city dating back from the dinosaur period.
This is one of the historical and cultural sites in Muscat, known also as the House of Naseeb. He was the merchant Naseeb Bin Mohammed who built the house in the late nineteenth century. “Al Barandah” is the local pronunciation of the foreign word “veranda”, which means “balcony”. The House was named after the balcony that extends along the length of the façade on the first floor. The museum recounts the history of Muscat since its geological formation to the present day, using interactive technology that displays pictures of tectonic plate movement over the past 750 million years until today, showing the activity that formed the continents in the past and how they will change over the next 250 million years. The museum also includes documentation of the Sultanate of Oman’s history since its inception to the present day.

A very nice museum to visit. Contains many information about old cities of Mutrah and Muscat. Drawback is no souvenir shop available or refreshments.
Its a nice, small museum. Plenty of displays, videos & interactive displays. A bit dated but good to get the history of Oman & Muscat.
Its beautiful place
