Comfy bagel shop serving sandwiches, soups & vegan treats in spacious digs with exposed-brick walls.
Good food, nice staff, fair prices and a comfortable place to have breakfast, catch up on homework or read a book. We were in Maine for vacation and actually stopped in here twice because we liked it so much.
Super busy, and rightfully so. Service was quick and expedient, lines moved super quick. Bagels were stellar!!
Cute spot, awesome selection of options. The only major downfall was the wait time! We waited 45 minutes for two toasted bagels to go! Thats an excessive wait when you are headed somewhere on a Saturday morning. Otherwise, the food was delicious and we will visit again - maybe not on a Saturday morning!
Probably my favorite breakfast spot in Bangor. Usually a but of a wait but worth it. Definitely have to go bagel-sandwhich, never disappoints!
Incredible bagels! Highly recommend the Egg special so you get a little bit of everything
Fast service, delicious coffee, and delicious bagels. We will be stopping by next time we are visiting from out of town.
Food is amazing….partially because if you come on a weekend you’ve waited so long to get your food that you could eat cardboard and it would taste good. They have to figure out their kitchen…45 wait to get food after I paid. And we’re talking a toasted bagel and a breakfast sandwich.
Best of the best. We got their lox bagel three times during our stay in Bangor. Efficient setup, staff are friendly and fun. Super fair prices and great dining area.
This is a great place for a bite, they have great food and if you get there right at opening there is no line. But just a warning, theres usually quite a line that forms pretty quickly. The seating is a bit cafeteria-like, so if youre looking for a more intimate spot, this isnt it.
Bagels and cream cheese are delicious. Made fresh on premises. Price are very reasonable. Plus, the seating area is perfect for reading or studying.
Our everything bagels were delicious, paired with our coffee and tea. But the warmed raspberry streudel was wonderful. Maybe Flavor Central is a better name.
The food is always good, the wait is always long. Vegan options available, tofu cream cheese and ask specifically for vegan beagles. Usually a vegan bakery item or two that changes periodically. Usually a vegan cheesecake and a quick bread or cookie. Great drink options.
Just called to make an order. Found the voicemail VERY unprofessional. Nothing sounded good after hearing that. You could have made a better effort to make that sound better. Did you ever think about people who dont know how to use the internet, you know the older generation... or the people who who arent fortunate enough to have internet? Very rude!
One star that the food is edible, anther star for a clean and spacious restaurant. This place felt like the place where flavor goes to die. Biting into the bagels is like biting into a loaf of generic bread from the supermarket.
For the past 25+ years their bagels have never disappointed. This weekend my husband brought home some bagels, garlic & herb cream cheese, and potato salad. I used some of the cream cheese in tonights mac & cheese which really kicked it up in flavor. But that potato salad has to be the tastiest Ive had. Very flavorful and fresh full of tomatoes, scallions, and I think fresh dill and shredded carrot. What a tasty treat! Will never make my own again. Want the recipe. 😉
They have gluten feee bagels! Great place. These people hustle because the place is busy but lots of space. Happy we stopped in.
First-time customer. I ordered the Turkey Ruben with potato salad. It was delicious!! 🤤 The staff is friendly. The restaurant is clean. I wish we had this restaurant back home! Id be a regular.
Good place. Love that they have many options for those with allergies and dietary preferences.Try to avoid peak times as it gets quite crowded and the wait times get long.
Spacious, clean, affordable prices, and great variety of food options! I really appreciated the abundance of vegan/dairy free labeled options, which I’m sure helped many people too. The vegan cranberry water bagel with peanut butter I got was hearty and filling and my dad really enjoyed his omelet. In total, our family of five totaled under thirty dollars!! The environment also gives you a homey, welcoming feel - great way to start your day!
Stopped in on a Sunday morning, about 8am. Not much of a line; got up to the counter quickly and was greeted by a very friendly server.Placed an order for a breakfast burrito and bagel, and another order for fried eggs and potatoes. Boyth came quickly and were very reasonably priced. Breakfast for 2 for about $22...not bad at all.Burrito was hot and tasty. Eggs were a little runnier than expected but not so bad you couldnt eat em! Maybe next time we order them over hard vs. medium...All in all, very good breakfast! Will be stopping by again!
Exactly what you want in a bagel shop. They make bagels in house and they have ample seating. This will be my go to whenever Im in town.
Fresh flavorful food made daily. Clean, efficient, well maintained. Spacious, lots of seating. Reasonably priced. Right in the heart of downtown Bangor!
I love an everything bagel and this one was so delicious. Clearly fresh made! I also got chive cream cheese and a vanilla iced coffee :)
Overcrowded. 20 people were in line in front of me, so I thought it would be good. I ordered the hot pastrami sandwich and when I picked it up after tbey called my number, it came to me almost cold as the melted cheese had hardened and very skimped on the pastrami. They are just too busy.
The food was amazing! My only gripe was that the coffee was super weak. I can’t blame them though because all the coffee places we tried in Bangor and in Bar Harbor sold weak coffee. I guess it’s just the norm in Maine?
Great atmosphere and yummy food to match! The iced mocha was my absolute favorite as well
Yummy home fries. Bit of a wait, but good prices. Lots of seating. Didn’t have all GF bagels in stock but partner really liked his everything bagel sandwich!
Best bagel ever. Had the marble rye bagel with vegan cream cheese and capers, onions, and tomatoes. Definetly worth the drive.
This place was a gem and our favorite breakfast stop on our trip through Maine. They were incredibly busy but so efficient - the line moved fast and I didn’t feel rushed as I asked a million questions about the menu.
Good bagels and iced coffee(among lots of other things)!!We happened to visit this bagel place by chance on our way from Acadia back to Boston, but I am happy to have landed here. The bagels were very good. The iced coffee was exceptional. There were lots of other bakery items I would have loved to try if I was not in a hurry. Has an ample seating area and the staff seemed very friendly.
Salt bagel, veggie cream cheese...holy moly! Amazeballs! Went back up to get a bag of bagels to go! These are legit. Actually contemplated if it was too far to drive(from freeportjust for a bagel. 🤪
One of our families favorite places in Main St in Bangor to go for breakfast/lunch. Food is always fresh, very tasteful, and the staff are friendly. Decent prices for the area.
Delicious food. Quick service & super polite & happy staff!
One of the better bagel places I have been to. I got the onion and lox bagelwich, but my partner got the onion and lox omelet, which comes with a bagel on the side. The omelet + side bagel combo is way better. I essentially ate mine deconstructed as if it was the other way 😂 also the pumpkin whoopie absolutely slaps. Will definitely be here again, if I ever find myself in Bangor!
This is the worst bagel I have ever had. Bought a dozen after reading all positive reviews . They use a strong spice that I can’t tolerate. All the bagels reeked of it. Hopefully my wife will eat the rest she seems to lijke them
Loved the atmosphere! Great bagels and you have to try the potato salad! The Blueberry bagel was great, it has a hint of blueberry and still pairs great with the cream cheese. The Poppyseed bagel is a house favorite and sells quick. The Scallions cream cheese is a personal favorite of mine and I get it with every bagel.
Super affordable bagels, pastries, coffee, and more! This is a great place to do some studying or work at, or just get a bagel to go! If you dont like too much cream cheese I would definitely suggest that you ask for it on the side. They offer a variety of gluten free, whole wheat, and low fat options, or you can definitely indulge in whatever your heart desires. The people that work there are very nice and efficient as well.
Cinnamon bagel with honey butter was delicious!Husband’s sandwich was also really good. Fast service and friendly staff
Coffee and pastry items are amazing. The coffee shop is a little too crowded for me, but hey not everyone is an introvert.
My go to for my morning breakfast Cinnamon Raisin Bagel with Cream Cheese and hot coffee Mocha delicious food friendly staff I highly recommend Bagel Central in Bangor, Maine You wont be disappointed enjoy😋 😊 lip smacking great food.
My wife and I were waking around Bangor trying to find a place to eat breakfest and noticed a lot of the places were closed. Im extremely happy this wasnt one of those. The bagels were fresh as youd want and tasted delicious. They have a number of different baked goods and many drink and coffee choices. If youre in Bangor wondering where to go for breakfest, go here.

I’m obsessed with this place. Their bagels, sandwiches, cream cheese spreads (jalapeño is my favoriteand the potato salad omg it’s all amazing. Every time we fly out of Bangor I make it a point to get my Bagel Central fix.
Tuna bagel was HUGE but just okay tasting. I kind of felt sick after but don’t know for sure it was that. My cousin enjoyed his food. Nice space to sit. Waited a while and went back to counter to check on status and they were nice about it. They are efficient.
Beautiful restaurant and amazing customer service. The food here is mind blowing, They have different types of inhouse cream cheese and bagels. You can order for different flavours of cream cheese for takehome in the size of half pint or pint. We called for Brady gang with with egg white omlet, bagelwich, spinach pie, oatmeal pancakes, carribean coconut flavoured coffee and mocha coffee all dishes ordered were mind blowing. Visit them for breakfast or brunch
My wife and I were staying in an AirBNB near by and wanted a fun place to get some breakfast. The bagels here are BOMB and the coffee and pastries are great. I want to keep coming back and try new menu items!
We order Curbside online. They are quick and so friendly. I always get their Spinach Feta Omelette with Bacon Crumbles. My Boyfriend usually gets The sweet cinnamon bagels toasted with Butter. They are inexpensive and very Yummo!
All of their baked goods and sandwiches are incredible. Im especially fond of the sesame water bagels. They are really really good. Im trying to figure out how to make the apple pie stuffed muffin. They are incredibly yummy. I cant find a recipe for it anywhere, so I just get one every time Im there. :Bonus, the coffee is delicious. My husband and I find excuses to come to Bangor from Mt Desert so we can get brunch and pastries at Bagel Central.
Despite the fact I spend a lot of time eating NYC bagels, I really enjoyed my visit to Bagel Central. Bagel Central offers breakfast combinations including bagels and eggs which are enticing. The poppy seed bagel was very good and the cream cheese that accompanied it offered a great taste and texture. You can also have your bagels toasted, which I requested. This is a great bagel option, if not the only one in Bangor.
We live in NYC and we still love the bagels, cream horns, and their breads here. My favorite are toasted bagel-any bagel, with low fat cream cheese for breakfast, pizza bagel with green pepper and onion for lunch and they also have lentil veggie soup with hot sauce available to mix it to your liking. DeliciousOmelette with broccoli cheddar. We visit Maine a lot and we make it a point to stop by for some of our favorite food.
