Badlands Overlook - Viewpoint in Williston, United States
Awesome place
Fantastic view of the Badlands. Pictures really dont do it justice.
One of the best overlooks in the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park with beautiful views of the Badlands that stretch for miles in every direction. Many hiking trails around the area and with the scenic loop drive closed due to the road eroding, access to the overlook now requires a "to and back" ride thats approx. 24 miles long. There are several pull outs along the way for scenic photography as well as large vehicle turn arounds in designated areas for trailers and large vehicles to turn around.
Lots of wildlife and amazing views. Why isn’t this Parker talked about more!
Great place!!
So worth the trip so many pull offs to stop and check out the many beautiful views it was only 30 dollars to get in and was worth the drive not disappointed one bit and the visitor center at the beginning had all kinds of great trinkets to remember it by
Great place to get a panoramic view of the North Dakota Badlands.
What an amazing place. You will not regret coming to visit.
Other worldly. Simply stunning
Best overlook in South Unit
This is so beautiful. I really felt at peace here.
Nice view.
Beautiful view. End of the road as of Oct 2021
One awesome place to visit for taking pictures.
We didn’t see any animals here but we still got out of our van to take in the views. Unfortunately there was a lot of smoke as well.
One of the best views around.
Nice views. Did not see any bison though.
On a weekday in early June there were few people there. The view of badlands topography are excellent and well worth stopping for.
Great place to stop and think about what our forefathers went thru.
Great place.
My phone doesnt do it justice, but it is absolutely stunning
Different kind of national park with unique scenery... 👍
Super cool place! Especially thinking about the history of this place, and all the outlaws that pioneered the area and hid out in these canyons and such! My dogs loved this place! They found some giant deer poo here they thought was heavenly! Lol
This is the last overlook after 24 miles of driving before you have to turn around on the former “Scenic Loop” road. There is a small parking area and great views of the vista. Just remember to be courteous. We wanted just a minute to take in the views, wind and everything nature had to offer but a man had to tell other travelers (loudlyof all the places he has been. So, we enjoyed the views but the company not so much. We quickly left and headed back.
Beautiful but not worth 30$ when you can see the petrified forest national park for 15$
Its just worth stopping at if youre passing through
Beautiful scenery. Wanted to see the badlands in North Dakota.
Beautiful place to take a short break.
Awesome place! Beautiful view
Mother nature is amazing! Worth visiting Badlands to see natures beauty!!

Beautiful place to drive and hike.
Very beautiful place and worth the stop!
What an AMAZING Photo Op!!
This is an easy on/off with spectacular views. Be sure to pull off and take in the scenery if you have time!
Last point to view TRNP on the southern loop as the road is it the last few miles. Absolutely gorgeous!
Nice rest stop on the freeway.
All the overlooks in the park have stunning views.
Been there 20 y ago. View was just outstanding!
Beautiful scenic drive worth a stop. We saw buffaloo up close, a coyote crossed the road in front of us with her pup, and absolutely loved the fields of squeaking prairie dogs
Amazing beauty and so worth the trip
This is a good break, beautiful view.
Tremendous view of the Little Missouri River north of Medora in the Theodore Roosevelt NP.
Gorgeous view , always something new each drive through.
#NorthDakota #Badlands bad lands are the most amazing part of the whole state. North dakota is very flat but the bad lands are the reason I stick around there amazing !!!

Great place for learning how to use a camera, or educating oneself about photography.
