Majestic beauty. How did they build those modern type temples/houses with pillars carving out of rocks under hills. The entire Badami is beautiful and less crowded too

Cave temple and the museum part should be visited. From cave temple you can go to museum by walking. You can drive your car(only carto museum as well but the road is very congested and goes through thickly populated untidy streets. museum will be closed on Fridays. You need at least 1hr to see everything here. Walkable path to museum from cave temple is also dirty.

Indias Petra. An architectural marvel. There are 4 caves in total and a beautiful lake in front with few temples surrounding the lake. It hurts to see all the disfigured idols inside the caves (only few remaining, rest all pillaged, robbed & looted)

Sheer Brilliance what comes to your mind when you visit the Badami cave temples. The 3 Hindu and 1 Jain temples are architected by cutting into rocks. The carvings are exquisite. The place is maintained neatly. People need to ensure they dont litter here. The surroundings are so picturesque. Despite the damage done, it still stands and wows the visitors.Take your time in going around the monuments and, if possible, hire a guide who can tell you details of the place and its historical significance.Try not to carry any bags while you trek up as the monkeys are very active and could try to snatch. They are in plenty here, so be on the lookout. They never troubled us as we just had our phones in our hands for pictures.Enjoy your visit to Badami and soak in the history of the earlier golden era and their marvellous creation, Badami.

Amazing place to visit, to witness structural beauty. As it is located in arid region ofthe state, climate is usually too hot, dry and sunny.Beware of monkeys. Eatables and water bottles attract lot of monkeys and they create nuisance, better to roam only with a single water bottle

India is a treasure house of spectacular architectural sites, most of which display craftsmanship and sculptural brilliance and whose beauty cannot be described in words. Many a time, words do little justice to these architectural gems that have been standing tall for several centuries. One such sight is Badami in Karnataka that is home to a set of awe-inspiring cave temples that date back to the 6th and 7th century AD..

Badami caves are Marvellous Architecture with Stunning sculptures & The caves are surrounded by residential area. The Rock cut caves are dedicated to (1 Shiva,2 Vishnu and Buddha). Need to Climb a lot of steps to visit the each cave and monsoon , winters are perfect time to visit (because of weather ). Views from the top of the caves, View of Agasthya lake with the Bhoothnath temple and the background caves are aesthetic. Can click beautiful pictures here & better to go Agasthya temple through the lake side from the caves , dont prefer over the streets coz many pigs in the streets which is also way to the Agasthya temple, museum. It has toilets at the entrance.Must wear shoes coz one has to climb the steps & dont carry more luggage. Carry a backpack of Water bottles and snacks with you.It takes around 5km from the railway station. It takes around 3 to 4 hours to visit the entire place & for senior citizens, who have health issues, parents of small babiesfor them it’s not recommended( coz need to walk more & climb up).#must visit this place

I read about these cave temples in the book Lords of the Deccan. They are described in great detail and are a testament to the greatness of the Chalukyas of Vatapi. The monument is well maintained by ASI and is also well guarded. There are lots of monkeys around the parking so be very careful of your stuff. Avoid having food here. The caves themselves are beautiful and a shutterbugs delight. Sculptures of Vishnu, Shiva and Mahavir offer a glimpse religion of South India in the 7th and 8th centuries. The elevation from the last cave offers a breathtaking view of the valley. You can also easily see the temples on the opposite cliffs as well.

Badami is a must visit for every Kannadiga to know about the glorious Kannada empire. Located in Bagalkote district, roads to Badami is pretty decent. Approach roads are well maintained. Parking is free. However, there is an entry fee. There are a lot of mischievous monkeys so keep an eye on your belongings.Once you are in, please do take a guide who can explain the architecture, history and heritage about the cave temples. Every cave temple has a story to tell. Unless you get a guide, you will not understand the rich history of the place. It takes roughly about 2-2.5 hours to finish all the 4 caves. So plan your trip accordingly. There are free to use restrooms outside the gates which are decent enough. We hired guide Mr Bhimappa who gave us incredible and insightful details about all the four caves. He was witty, knowledgeable and humble guy. Took photos of us too and suggested from good frames to photograph as well. So when you are here, do hire him as your guide.Theres still a lot of improvements which Govt of Karnataka should push for as this is an iconic place for Karnataka and of course UNESCO heritage place.

Badami doesn’t need an introduction. If you dont know, please Google it bro. It was a dream-come-true moment for us to visit one the wonders of India. Proud to be born in this great nation.Only have one request to the Government. People have created slums around the place and they are using the lake for washing clothes. Please look into this. This is a UNESCO world heritage site for Gods sake. We have to protect our prides.

Beautiful and divine since we can see here. Badami Cave Temples are located in the Bagalkot district of Karnataka. The Badami Cave Temples are believed to be the origin of the cave temples. These temples are built by digging out a huge red sandstone hill. These temples are the beauty of the Saiva and Vaishnava Buddhist Jain traditions. Tourists say goodbye to Badami with a smile and heart after seeing the sculptures and their stories.

The main attraction in Badami . Cave temples carved out of huge rocks / circa 6th/ 7th century . 4 caves with different depictions - Shiva , Vishnu , jain . Also offers a wonderful view of the Bhootnath temple and Agastya lake .One would need to walk up stairs for each level . Relatively easy for elders . The caves as such were well maintained ( visited in Dec 2021, no batty / putrid smells , given that they are ancient caves . The place can get crowded , so suggest visiting early in the morning - before the crowds - allows you to enjoy the place and also take pictures . Monkeys are a menace - quite honestly , the place is absolutely crowded with them - so one needs to make sure that no food / packets are visible - keep covered / concealed .The place has a small entry fee ( cheaper if bought onlineand a paid parking ( expensive but still available !. Overall a wonderful place and one of the highlights of Karnataka tourism .

worth visit this place, ancient history, caves main attraction.however, 2 ways to enter to this Destination. For the Caves to see , easy road and ample parking space. But if you want to see museum then its other way which are very narrow road. Somehow we managed and reached at the entrance and able to park. So try to park your vehicle on cave side and from there you see whole campus which is very big.
