A great natural placeBut road is not good and you dont have to walk more just few stepsThere is just a small connex for drinking tea or waterDo not recommend for staying at nightOne hour is enough for exploringThere is no public transportation to Badab sort
it is a very good place for visitingthe road is good till 1-2 kilometers to the placethere is a parking down there and you can park your car and take the local service to going to the main place or walk there for like 15 minutes .if you go there do not miss the chance to swim in the natural pool. its amazing.
I enjoyed to visit this beautiful unique place in northeast of iran. Unfortunatly the water level was low, but good. Suuggest to visit.
Second registered national natural heritage of Iran cant be better. Lets keep this place intact when we leave!Guide : the last 5 kms is not asphalt, but normal cars may use the road without any challenge. However , the last 2 kms is a challenging off-road, and you can walk this distance or use the service of locals to take you to the springs by tractors or off-road vanets for a few money.
Very special and strange place
Visiting natural attractions of Iran won’t be perfectly over without a trip to Mazandaran province to take chance of seeing Badab Soort located 95 kilometers south of Sari. At first glance the beautiful bright orange, red and yellow colors will attract you especially a bright red emerged with iron carbonate. The place has been formed during thousands of years, comprising terraces arranged in a stepped formation because of a consistent flow of water from the two main springs of the site. Springs are geologically different, in different color, smell and taste .One of them is believed to provide some therapeutic functions in particular to relieve rheumatism and skin diseases.Although the site is not considered as unique in the world since similar places are known in the U.S.A , Turkey and China, Badab soort is a UNESCO listed site as the second salty water springs in the world after Pamukkale in Turkey. In order to reach the site, one needs to travel north of Iran to Sari a city in Mazandaran province or goes to Orost a village located 7 kilometers away from the site.Being a geologically significant and specific site , Badab soort was listed as the second natural heritage of Iran after Damavand mount. On you trip along north of Iran, don t miss the chance to see Badab soort springs especially in the sunsets.
Its amazing! Just pay attention to the path, its about 15 minute walk from the place that you get off the trucks.
Badab-e Surt is an exceptional travertine spring in Iran and the world which is located in Orost Village, Sari County. This spring was registered in the list of Irans National Heritage in 2008 by Cultural Heritage Organization as the second national monument of Iran after Mount Damavand. Also, this spring was internationally registered as the worlds second saltwater spring after Pamukkale in Turkey. Many years ago, there used to be a village near Badab which has already been destroyed.Badab is a Persian compound of Bād "gas" + āb "water", translating to "gassed water", referring to the springs waters being carbonated mineral waters. Soort is an old name for the Orost village and a Persian word meaning intensity. Its so butiful.
One of the most unique natural sights of the world.Natural phenomena formed over thousands of years .. lots of colors .. its a bit ruined now .. unfortunately people went in it and destroyed it a bit :( .. it used ro be much mord wonderful before ...To get there its a bit challenge because of the rocky road .. you need a strong off road car or park ur car in the parking and take a blue truck .. you should negotiate the price with the Driver .. they say high price at first ...Better to go on a sunny day ..very early morning or late afternoon for the beautiful colors .. if u go midday u wont see much colors .
Amazing place between Tehran to Caspian sea
Beautiful place with a great view. The way is a bit hard tho.
Beautiful but during summer is hot! U will need specila Iranian blue Nissan car for access Badab springs.
Badab-e Surt is a natural site in the west of Orost village. It comprises a range of stepped travertine terrace formations that has been created over thousands of years as flowing water from two mineral hot springs cooled and deposited carbonate minerals on the mountainside.
The place is beautiful but there is not adequate facilities available.
I loved it here!Pay attention just in case, if it is a rainy day or eve if just the rain starts even four wheel car will have a hard time going up or coming down last 3 km. The last 3 km. Is not good idea to drive on your own car at all even in sunny day because it has huge paddles.
Very good place, put it in your "must be seen" places. 2 kilometeres off road wich is good and any sedan car can pass, and at the end a pickup will take you to the springs. You can also walk to the sprin wwhich tooks about 1 hour with medium slope. Best tome to see are around sunset and sunrize.
It could be an adventure trip for everyone! There are vans to take you up the mountains where the springs are. Dont try your SUV. The vans are quite cheap. The road is terrible as well.
Nice Place, Hard to Reach, Bad Road
Its magnificent but unfortunately the road is terrible.
One of the best places Ive seen It is very important to see this place very close
One of the best places to visit in Chahardangeh District. You may need about one day to explore the region. Neighbour villages are hospitable and you will find a local place with a reasonable price to spend night in these villages. There is no lights and other road guidance symbols between main road and the area of terrace springs, so you will need more equipments if you want to climb the road at night.
Its really wonderful in spring
Badab Soorts springs are two distinct mineral springs with different natural characteristics, located at 1,840 metres (6,040 ftabove sea level.
If u wanna go to badab e soortTake tge shuttle minibus from terminal in keshavarz Blvd. It goes straight to orost county. Then there is about 9 km walking and 30 minutes hikingHike the right side way to go up there.the left one is for coming back
Its good for watching it one time, not moreIf u want to go there except summer, try it in thursdays and fridays, because there are services like tea, ash, tour leader and...Its people are very kind and comfortable.
one of the special experience for nature loversDont miss it
This is a very unique natural site in Iran; there are only afew of these natural mineral sites in the world! I wote 5-stare only for the importance of the site for environmentalists around the globe!I should say it is a remote site, very far from any city or town. For accessing the site you need a 2 hours and 20 minutes of driving and a 30 minutes of walking from the nearest parking space to reach the traces springs. There are two adjacent springs, one of them were torally dried at the time of my visit on Nov 2017, unfortunately. The site is vastly under destruction for two main reasons 1: the shortage (dischargeof underground waters in Iran. 2: careless visitors who violently run on the pools and damage them. There is no distinct boundary around the site which make the photography a good experience! Anyway the good news for environmentalist is that the site is already so far away- 95 km south of (the city ofsari. So few careless people would damage it.The springs contains Calcium Carbonate, Iron Carbonate as well as Carbonate dioxide degases from the minerals ... the whole system are in orange and red primarily because of ironcarbonate. The whole complex is like a naturally-form staircase.Although it is possible for you to camp around the site, there is no equipment at the site, you you are supposed to bring every possible needs along with yourself. If you dont wasnt to spend night there, so better to go there very soon in the morning to reach enough daylight.Who should visit the site:1: people who are interested in the nature beauty and silence of the mountains!2: scientists and environmentalists3: photographersWho should not visit the site:1: people who want to find somewhere close to city districts to camp and have fun!2: people with family members who do not like to manage a short visit to a long-distant natural site.3: people who look for a big site of forests; please consider that there is no tree there, no facilities, and the whole site is small!4: people who do not care about environment!
Here is perfect for nature tourism . You can see some colorful salty and bitter springs which made pools around .
It was way better if people care more about the nature. Beautiful place which mostly ruined by inconsideration.
Comparatively Well kept, particularly by local people and redidents of the village Maalkhast, which is about 10 km far from the springs
Its an amazing natural place in the North of Iran
This place is amazing. Youll be disappointed how people are treating this place. Nobody care about the area. I visited there at summer which is not recommended because of weather hotness. They said water is much more during winter or spring. Also sunlight could have effects on what you see there. Pictures are more beautiful than what you see there
Everything is perfect about this place. Badab-soort natural springs flows through Sulfur, and that is the reason there are a lot of small natural pools in this area. Its a must see place.
Absolutely stunning sight to see. Sister site of Huang Long in China
Very interesting place. The road is very long and bumpy so I advise you to go there only if you are a nature enthusiast. During the spring is the best time to be there. Also you can mix here and Cheshme-ali together to have a good one day trip.
Amazing place, well worth the 2 hours ride (which was beautiful itselffrom Sari. Definitely recommended if you are in the region and have enough time. Be aware that there are no facilities (neither toilets nor food/drinksat all at the site itself.
