Well located and beautiful both inside and outside. Great views from the rooms.

No idea why there so many positive reviews. Been here for 2 nights and it was completely a joke. First, room for 6 is the smallest I have been to any hostels. Second, there are around 10 rooms in one floor but only 3 showers and 2 toilets! This is ridiculous. Plus, hot water is not working in one of the showers, so there are only 2 you can use. Third, all dorm room is in the old house so you can feel when people are walking when you are asleep. Only good thing is the facilities that may meet the hostel standard. Would not ever come back for sure!

From booking to check out itvwas very smooth! Friendly Staff, Clean and Comfortable rooms! Well equiped kitchen and very good location!

One of the best hostels Ive stayed in! (Have stayed in over "about" 50 hostels so far). Why such a good spot? Well, complimentary breakfast coffee, towel included, and GREAT VALUE laundry amongst other things...see below.Location: a short walk or complimentary bus ticket (Provided by the hostelto Interlaken ost OR Interlaken West rail stations making this a great place to base yourself to explore other local places like Lauterbrunen, Grindelwald, Wengen, Murren, etc.Price: Affordable rates, especially if you are staying in an 8 person dorm room!Beds: Comfortable, sturdy, and with personal light, plug station, and shelf.Showers: Strong water pressure and warm showers! (Very important after a long day out hiking or exploring the area!!)Facilities/Extras:The FREE coffee at breakfast got me, and a regular continental breakfast to go with that...bread, yogurt, nutella.Towel comes with your stay, which helps on ones own laundry journey.Kitchen is large and well equiped + there is a large yard, and ping pong tables if you want some other activities here!!Laundry is only 4CHF which is a steal, and the DRYER is a steal!!Lastly, very helpful staff, and other outgoing travelers made this one of the top hostels Ive stayed in globally! One of the best hostels Ive been to in my life (30+)! Very clean, lockers to store stuff before check in were very convenient, very cute backyard that looks onto the mountains, beds were sturdy and didnt creek, showers were new/clean, and walls were sound proof. Very happy with the stay, I wish more hostels could be like this.

One of the best hostels in Interlaken. Its within a km to Interlaken east Railway Station and very near to Harder Klum.The staff if soooo helpful and courteous. The rooms are super clean. And so are the bathrooms.You have laundry facility in the building as well.The kitchen is extremely well equipped.I was super happy when I reached there ☺️ 😊Thank you Backpackers for making my first stay in a hostel so memorable.💗💗💗

Fantastic hostel! Free day use lockers and storage lockers. Centrally located and close to both train stations. Very clean hostel and beautiful views of the mountains from the bedroom window! The staff were very friendly and gave great recommendations.

The hostel is highly recommended for everyone who doesnt want to spend a lot of money on an expensive hotel. This hostel was very convenient, comfortable, the staff was very nice and helped. Ths location is amazing, very close to the city center. I really enjoyed the beautiful view from my room.

I choose Interlaken as the "home base" for traveling in the Jungfrau Region and Backpackers Villa was an awesome place to stay!They have a great facility, well equipped, always clean, with areas to hang around with other travelers and a staff that will always help you.I really liked their included continental breakfast, so you dont have to worry in the morning and you can just go explore the region. And if you like to cook yourself (as I didthey have a very well equipped kitchen.

Very clean, facilities, common areas have many nice areas for relaxing, plus there are gaming tables,a large self serving kitchen, laundry that doesnt need washing powder and free dryer...its fantastic and a reason why we extended our stay

Awesome 😎 I would recommend this to everyone who are looking for budget accomodation. For Indian who want to eat vegetarian Indian food. This is the place. You will find lots of good Indian restaurant near by.

We stayed here 11th and 12th July.We cant wait to return there. Very warm hospitality. Reception staffs are extremely helpful. I got all the required information for travelling from there.Best possible location. Only 3 bus stops from Interlaken OST Railway station.Rooms are good enough considering the situation that Switzerland is too too costly.The swimming pool is 10 min away from the hotel. They provide good enough breakfast. You can cook for your dinner and lunch. They have all the provision.Special mention: I am very much thankful specially to the young lady who was in the reception on 11th and 12th of July. My mother in law could not go to Jungfrau on 12th of July in the morning. She was alone in the hotel room. As the hotel does not provide lunch we requested the lady to arrange for her food from outside. She did it perfectly. Even when one food vendor denied to deliver lunch she searched a different vendor and arranged the food. We will always remember this.

The hostel is in the center of interlaken, they provide you a bus ticket within the area of interlaken for free which you can save a lot of money. Breakfast is included, very clean hostel the kitchen is well equipped with all you need.I will book again this place.

One of the best places to stay when you in Interlaken. Hostel is clean and exceptional supportive staff. Staff is very kind and helpful. I would expect more option in breakfast though.

It was a lovely place located right opposite Hotel Victoria Grand. Theres a beautiful garden right in front of the hotel where all the paragliders land. The front side of the hostel has parking area as well. The room where we had stayed had a view of Jungfraujoch mountain which was marvelous to look at. The beds were comfortable though I felt they could upgrade the tech in the rooms by giving USB ports along with charging plugs so 2-3 gadgets could be charged at one time.The breakfast spread was good but no non-vegetarian options at all.There were 3-4 types of breads, Nutella, Butter, 2 kinds of Jam, 2 types of yogurt, cornflakes and muesli. The coffee machine worked fine with 3-4 kinds of coffee options and hot chocolate.

Got to see the locations I had wanted to. Comfortable. Staff was knowledgeable and happy ( although one kept getting drinks after their shift for a friend from the cooler ?). Breakfast was basic as most reviews said. Location was between both train stations but there’s also a bus that stops in front that’s handy.

Very clean, so nice staff, you get free continental breakfast with coffee. Garden and terrace, huge kitchen and lots of space to sit, very modern and again - CLEAN. The only thing is the rooms are quite small and get very hot in the summer.

This was my first hostel experience, and it set the bar very high. Before I even stayed, I was in contact with Catherin and her staff via email to figure out some activity logistics, and every question was answered quickly and with local insight. The hostel itself was clean and welcoming, and felt very safe. There was a good mix of modern and traditional feeling. I didnt participate in any hostel-led activities and was out hiking and exploring the greater Interlaken and Lauterbrunnen areas. The price was within my budget, and the free bus pass and breakfast were very helpful.

We spent a long weekend here with our whole family and couldnt have been happier. The rooms are very nice, clean and there is a lot of nice areas to sit and relax. but what stood out the most to us was the VERY FRIENDLY staff!! all around everyone seemed to enjoy working and serving guests.

Very happy with the staff, rooms, cleanliness, laundry service and the games. Only small suggestion is to include fruits in the breakfast menu. We stayed for 5 nights and absolutely loved every bit of it. Must try!

This hostel is vv nice. The continental breakfast is just what you need to kickstart your day. We would stay here again if we go back to Interlaken.

I was satisfied with my stay for a week. Reception and staff were kind and helpful. Nice place, spacious, clean, everything you need to help you. Breakfast was good. I would stay again and I would recommend it. I don’t know how to rate with a number, but more than 4, closer to 5.

I strongly recommend this place for single travelers. The cost is very reasonable and facilities are very new and clean. They offer free breakfast not really great but still good. Rooms are clean and kitchen is clean as well. Also, I am not sure about other rooms but my room had really good view of mountains … if I visit Swiss again alone will defo visit here again.

Weve been to many different hostels around the world and Backpackers in Villa Sonnenhof has by far been the best hostel experience weve ever had. The staff are very friendly and have a ton of knowledge of the area and the rooms are well kept. Other things that stood out are that the bathrooms and showers are always clean, free breakfast, and overall attention to small details.

Ive been traveling for about 2 weeks in Switzerland and France and I have to say that this is the best hostel Ive stayed in!It is clean, lots of nice sitting areas, great breakfast, clean bathrooms, has discounts for various local travel vouchers, and also a great kitchen area for your own cooking. Loved my time here.

I had such a great experience at this hostel!First of all, the staff is fantastic. Everyone I interacted with was kind and genuinely caring. They went above and beyond and treat you as family, especially Catherine at the front desk! (She was even sweet enough to offer me her gloves for my trip up to the Jungfraujoch after I lost mine!)The entire building was spotlessly clean. The kitchen has great equipment - multiple fridges, 8+ induction burners, 2 sinks, ample clean washing supplies, and a spacious dining area.The atmosphere at this hostel is perfect for anyone but hard-core party-ers. There are plenty of private rooms in addition to the dorms, so families can be comfortable here. (Theres even a kids play room.)The breakfast is the only place I saw room for improvement. It gets the job done, but its very sparse (toast, yogurt, cereal, coffee, juice). Adding a little fruit would be good, but I just brought my own.Ill stay at this hostel every time Im in Interlaken, without a doubt!!

The reception staff was very kind, promoted our booking from 3 dorms in a 10-shared to 6-shared. The kitchen was clean and very useful. Breakfast buffet was good as well with toasts, nutella, muesli, etc. All in all - a great stay!

This is an amazing hostel! One of the best ones I have ever been to. I keep coming back. I love their offer with the Winterlaken pass.Regarding the stay itself, they really pay attention to the smallest of details, trying to make the guests comfortable and happy.

I’ve never stayed in a place so good like this. The crew, Mellanie, Catherin, and everyone.. so PERFECT! I travel a lot and this was the best place, mostly the crew and the attention that they have with us. They think about everything to make us comfortable and feeling well. I can’t even explain our feeling about staying here! Definitely recommend!

Very friendly staff and clean hostel! I stayed for two nights and got upgraded to 5-ppl room, where they put 3 ppl bc of corona, which I believed was a good balance. Room and facilities ware clean, I also liked their breakfast, and receptionists were very kind and as well as offering useful tips for seeing Interlaken! By far the best hostel I stayed for sure

First, reception is absolutely incredible. They are always so polite and nice, and they were very knowledgeable about the activities in the town. Additionally, they offer some great amenities, and their check-in was painless. The villa is in a great spot in town, and the spaces are always clean and kept well. I look forward to staying here again in the future.

Highly recommend staying at this hotel! The staff is friendly and will happily help you find things to do in Interlaken. They also let us check-in our room at 10am (it was ready early), even though check-in is not until the afternoon. The beds are very comfortable. The bathroom and kitchen are clean and practical. The breakfast is good, it includes yogurt, bread, cereals, etc. I also got 2 tokens for coffee/hot chocolate to use during my 1-night stay. And tea is free! Finally, the hotel has taken extensive measures to avoid the spread of COVID-19. It is much appreciated and I would definitely stay here again :)

One of the best hostels I’ve been to! Sparkling clean, cozy, well located in the heart of the city and with a great view towards the mountains. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is included and they do special offers on ski pass and equipment hiring. Will be back!

Amazing hostel with clean rooms and bathrooms. Very nice location and the staff were really nice and helpful. Reasonably priced as it also includes free breakfast, towels and 2 free drinks a day. There is also a kitchen where you can cook. Amazing views of the mountains and close proximity to the shopping center of Interlaken. Definitely staying here when I come back.

I went on a ladies weekend. There were 5 of us total and we had a great experience. We arrived after hours and there was a lockbox available and they had our towels and keys waiting for us. We had a room with 5 bunk beds. Room and facility was clean and organized with many outlets and lockers for belongings. There was a light breakfast included. The women at the reception desk were very friendly and helpful. They even called a restaurant for us to check availability for us. It was very family friendly. They had space outside to sit in the grass, play pool, or ping-pong. Great location near a park, restaurants, and other businesses too. This was my first hostel experience and I would definitely return!

Everything was just perfect! During our stay there were not many guests around, so we had a dorm room for ourselves. The facilities were super clean, beds were comfortable and the rooms are really nice and bright. I especially liked the chill out room and the lobby area. The kitchen is also very big! Small breakfast and towels are included in the prize, and you can ask for a lot of more things that are free, for example borrow winter boots, soap, washing machine, use lockers for free etc.

Best hostel I have ever stayed at. The beds are very comfortable, and the staff is friendly. Their wash machines are usable for free, and breakfast is also free. The room was clean and nice. Each room has a locker for each resident and is provided. Breakfast is not the best variety but should not be expected. They also have a full kitchen to help with costly Swiss restaurants. Wifi is really fast, and the staff was very helpful in helping me plan and find activities in the city. 10/10 would recommend.
