Backburner - Coffee shop in Beirut, Lebanon
Very average coffee, unfriendly staff, paper cups when you drink your on their terrace outside…
Best coffee in Beirut 😍
Very good coffee, but every time we have gone, the main staff will look at us, ignore us, and take the next person’s order. When we are clearly waiting in line to order. We are Asian but we have gone there several times now, so it’s ridiculous. Also when we order delivery, we always add the expensive oat milk and they always use regular milk.
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff , good coffee .
Great coffee!!
A hidden gem with great ambience, decor and service. Excellent coffee and desserts.
Pretty pricey but really good coffee! I got an iced latte with the homemade almond milk - delicious! 👍
The coffee is average, but the portions are provocatively small.
Pricey but good, nice ambience
The large Latte for 41,000 LBP (double shot espresso, regular full fat milk). It is one of the most expensive specialty coffee shops in Beirut, long before the economic crisis in Lebanon.
Staff cyberbullied me and scammed me so overpriced spent 37k Liras
Strangers to specialty coffee will feel like they just shelled out a fortune for a can of coke on a hot, sunny day in St Tropez. I judge grandmas by their tabbouleh, cardiologists by their stethoscopes, and coffee joints by their cortados: Their darker blend version beats the fruitier ones at Kalei, Bn, and Younes. Im not sure that their prices are fair, but specialty coffee is still a fairly niche market in Lebanon so bean-to-cup costs are expected to be high. They all pull with Marzoccos, but the barista who works with Ziad (my apologies for not catching your nameis a better coordinator between his Mazze and the grouphead. If youre a long black/americano fan, whip out your wallet and get the vegan/sugar-free/gluten-free brownie: Its an amuse bouche, omg-palate adjustment that will have you nibbling at it while you ignore the company at your table.Until my lever machine gets a new heating element, that place will be my fix. Speaking of fix, seriously... fix your bean retail price guys !
Modest but powerful ingredients. Enjoy a coconut latte with zaatar munchies
Cool coffee shop with great tasting coffee. The coffee is well made and tastes great. The portions are a little too small but the quality is good.
Good coffee paired with great hospitality. A customer walked away without taking his debit card, and one of the baristas chased him to return it. Never see that in a Starbucks outside if Japan.
First time visit. very good coffee! very nice place. staff’s great and most importantly the WiFi is super fast so I was able to do some work too.
A great coffee place situated in a beautiful saifi village area
I had to try 2 coffees (long black and flat white), carrot cake, salted caramel brownie, Zaater and Cheese manoushe and all hit the mark. Cosy, stylish and worth returning to again and again.
This place arguably has the best iced latte I’ve ever had in my life - big statement I know. It’s super cute, located in the lovely Saifi area. Aside from coffee it has a lot of healthy snacks/desserts to grab on the go. I come here every time I visit Beirut!
Such a nice concept and chill place that served delightful and freshly ground coffee and food items at reasonable prices and amazing service. Ambiance is beautiful and the staff is also highly friendly and professional.
Best oat cappuccino ever
This place has a nice vibe, good coffee and excellent desserts. But only gets 4 stars because (1its very expensive for no real reason and (2the seating is not very comfortable, you are too close to others, and there is some echo, so if you want to have a business conversation or talk privately there is a risk that people around you can hear the conversation..
Great coffee, cool vibe, friendly service.
Poor taste, non professional staff, low quality coffee and overpriced.imagine that these 2 cups cost me 32,000 lira = 21$.iced latteiced mochaThank you for stealing my money ... i will recommend you to all people around.
Love it though it’s a bit $$$. The atmosphere, quality and simple decor end up making it work it. Open more branches!
Great selection of coffee and the cold brew is the best.
My first visit, welcoming staff, great taste, and good surrounding.
Lovely place, great coffee but expensive.
A total disconnect...But ask the employees for a receipt to make sure they reflected the prices correctly. They tend to make mistakes!? This places is however well designed and serves very good and sophisticated coffee. A nice addition to the city centre located in a calm spot.
Loved it, the place the staff the coffee but unfortunately over priced...
The coffee, tea and food were really good but the service and the hospitality werent
Its a great place to have a coffee 😊
This is a great little hole in the wall and just a word of warning that when it gets busy, the service and queue is a bit chaotic. Nice place to sit and enjoy a coffee or avocado on toast in relative peace before you step back into the chaos that is Beirut
An oasis among the bustle, the noise and the pollution of Beirut. Every time I visit I feel I am back in the US. They even have the NYT and the New Yorker on hand.
I love their coffee and their sweets. The backburner is always my place to go for a quick break during the day!
Good coffee and beautiful environment but very expensive
Amazing place nice drinks and good food
Coffee shop in a charming district of Beirut. Trendy and laid back. Overpriced.
Super polite and considerate staff, fabulous coffee (one of the best i had in Beirut), perfect taste, just the right temperature...
Another Good Doz of coffee at any time of the day, simply go for a 75%-25% Oat Milk + Cold Brew Coffee with a book in your hand.
Very cozy gourmet coffee shop in Saifi Village. Their coffee is amazing and the place is very cozy. The staff is very friendly.
Amazing coffee place with some carefully selected desserts originating from multiple healthy dessert places in Lebanon! It offers a very good matcha latte, something not very accessible in Beirut, it is very well done and highly comparable to ones found internationally. It also provides coconut sugar as an alternative to white sugar, something that makes you leave the place with a light healthy feeling!
Funky lil cafe with the beat coffee in town. Baristas treat it carefully and know how important it is to wake up to the right stuff. They sell organic products and small snacks. Cakes and brownies ... homemade style. Foreigners and locals alike come here for the good stuff.
A nice and quite coffee shop where you can get to work on your laptop while having a nice cup of coffee or tea with a lovely piece of cake. And staff are really very nice and helpful. The only down side is that seating is limited to only few tables. If you are around and want a nice coffee then I would recommend this place.
A nice coffee place in Saifi with a variety of healthy coffee blends and organic tea, they also have sweets that are healthy and delicious.
So tasty but too much expensive, 8500 for a small cappuccino
Best cold brew in the city ! Quiet, quaint, with perfect coffee.
Quite neighborhood , Cosy Cafe, nice & friendly staff and very good coffee 👌
Good coffee, nice spot in the Saifi Village.
Two shots latte is so nice. but caffe space is quite small.
