Baccanale Trastevere - Italian restaurant in Vatican City, Vatican City
great vegan options, lovely waitresses
Great drinks, nice music
Not sure I’d recommend going here for traditional “Italian” food, but that’s not what we wanted. We wanted French fries and protein in a fun spot where we could stream American football. Baccanale was perfect! They had European football on, and the crowd inside was going absolutely nuts, such a fun environment. And the food we ordered was good! The French fries were excellent (clearly fresh — hot and crispy), and we loved the chicken skewers (not dry at all.Wished the other skewers had a better beef to lamb ratio but we were happy with them! And loved our overall experience here!
Nice bar, good prices
Watched the game Rome vs Inter, atmosphere was awesome, the waitress very attentive and spoke English, the food was good and the beer amazing, if you’re in the zone and there’s a game on going, it’s a good place to stop and have a good time.
Many TVs to watch football, friendly service, good selection of food and beverages
Perfect Cocktails and super yummy burgers!
Very cool bar and amazing burgers!!
WOW… this bar is simply awesome, it doesn’t matter if you wanna eat some nice food or just drink a beer with your friends - either way you will have a nice stay. Drinks aren’t overpriced and the burgers and fries taste great, you will definitely get fed up. For about 12€ for the burgers this bar is fantastic.5/5 recommended👍👍
Friendly staff, tasty cocktails
Nice bar with good drinks, but kind of slow service if it is crowded.
Great food, wine and service! Very nice place.
Friendly English speaking service, good enough drinks, very relaxed but lively atmosphere, nice spot in Trastevere 👌
It was very nice!!!!Very funny persons like elias.I can only say that its very cool to visit.
Nice international pub, with a big range of pizza and burgers. I liked a lot the atmosphere, lights. Full of screens to watch football matches.
Great pub, great location. But most of all, what a fantastic night staff 😍😍 !! Sarah and Martina are so nice and pro, even if the work is hard, they make you feel like its easy .... Great people make great location, not the other way around. Thank you !!!!!(Birthday boy)
extremely friendly staff, great nachos, fun atmosphere but the drinks were less than mediocre
Food was good, beyond our expectations from a bar. Burger was excellent. The drinks were great. And most importantly, you can watch football matches on their TVs.
Food was okay, but not the best, but the main problem was that there were only 3 people inside and still we had to wait 40 minutes for some nachos and more than 1 hour 20 minutes for our dishes… way too long
A good local bar with good food. Dont expect craft cocktails here or Michelin stars, but expect well priced drinks and well made food that will keep you coming back.
Found this place as we were looking for a place to see the Liverpool and Spurs match just before Christmas. The beers are relatively local with some favourites like Guinness. Some great looking cocktails and we were given a plate of tapas which was great. The bar staff were friendly and welcoming and served great pints. Wasnt too busy for a Saturday early evening and we sat at the bar watching on a few screens. Great place to find the local Peroni and craft pale ales. Definitely worth a visit
Nice, cozy spot with very good service. Got some free snacks along with our wine. If you’re trying to get some drinks make sure to check this place out.
Cocktails are amazing and not overpriced. Food is good but not the best. But the vibes were great and the staff so kind! Also good music. Overall, great experience.
Nice drinks (and bruscetta), nice vibes, nice prices
Great local bar in the heart of Trastevere. Friendly staff. English is adequate! Interesting cocktails. Real Cuban Rum. Lively area at midnight!
Great pub / restaurant. Lovely decorated and overall positive vibe. Lots of beers and fingerfood. The baconpizza we ordered was even saltier than expected, but still great food after having had a couple of beers.Highly recommended bar to stay the afternoon or evening!
Came here for a change in food as we had eaten pasta and pizza for 4 nights in a row. The place is a little gem and the food was brilliant only thing was it was slightly expensive for the area but still well within a reasonable budget. Great little bar if that’s what you’re looking for.
Just a nice laid back place to enjoy a cocktail! The happy hour is definitely a recommendation. You get a nice assortment of bites with your cocktail before 19:00.
Amazing food with a large number of beers. Very recommended. The place is cozy and the waitresses are very nice.
When I visited Baccanale it was to meet friends for a beer before a meal. Let me tell you, it was such a great experience, that we went there for drinks after out meal too!The environment is great being on the main walking strip in the area - lots of life! Inside there are many things to look at: from the ceiling there hangs different currencies/money bills from around the world, many different coasters for your drinks, stuff like that which makes the bar unique. We ordered a fantastic platter of finger food and the taste is unmatched with any bar foods where were from (Toronto, Canada).I felt like I could have stayed there all night as the servicing staff and owners were very warm and open! We left very late in the night/morning. It is very comfortable and great for grabbing a quick pint or dining.Im stopping by Baccanale the next time Im in Rome.
Mojito 6 euros only but really not a good one. If you wanna just drink this is the place for you. The pub is cool, atmosphere is nice. Location very good.
Nice pub-like place to hang out. Very cozy atmosphere :). Great selection of beers and the food was tasty, too. Would definitely go there again.
Nice selection of interior seating and a few even nicer outside tables. Friendly staff that speak enough English to bridge non italiano speaking tourist barrier. Extensive menu that does seem limited to what is available in the kitchen that day. Highlight for me was the non pasta items. Steak and home fries really hit the spot for this visiting tourist.
Beautiful place, got a nice vibe it, really nice stuff and the food is just amazing. Make sure you the tortellini panda e prosciutto.
Good place to drink beer but not really to eat. Not impressed at all with their food. Went for lunch and were disappointed. Ordered pasta with mushrooms- it tasted sour (although they were kind enough not to charge us for it. Pizza was ok, eatable but certainly not the best. Small cozy place. They do have large selection of beers. So good place for drinks not so much for food. (There was also noWiFi so they were accepting only cash).
The waiters were really nice and we felt welcomed there. We had a jummy pizza and real Italian coffee. As a tourist who was first time in Italy, this was my first experience of Italian "cuisine" and I was happy with my visit to this restaurant.
My husband and I decided to try this today as we needed a change from the usual pasta dishes (but they have them here also and they look wonderful). We went for a hamburger and salad and both were absolutely terrific. We started with their vegetable soup that was packed with veggies and lentils. This soup is hearty and very delicious. My husband had their hamburger that was cooked to perfection . The bun was so very fresh. Their salad with grilled chicken is also very delicious and came in a fried bread bowl.Their house bottled red wine is very good and only 10 Euros and the cappuccinos and espressos they make are some of the best.Davide served us and is so accommodating and a nice young man. He was so patient with us as we practiced Italian with us.Pricing is excellent and the ambiance is fun and fits a variety of all age groups.
This place was suggested to me by a friend in the states and I am completely satisfied. Visited twice in three days and will be back in the future. Food and drinks were everything I wanted and then some. Drink specials and a wonderful menu make sitting outside even better. Be sure to drink the Caipirinha with a friend! Ciao!
Good service, kitchen works after 12pm and you can eat as well as drink some. Good interior and a the music is not too loud so you can hear each other. Also good prices. Burger for 7€ for example.
If I was reviewing the food alone this would be a quick one star review. The food is disgusting, but anyone who spends enough time in bars and restaurants understands what to expect when viewing such an extensive menu. Theres simply no way to offer that many options and expect good food. Im guessing everything is microwaved as you dont smell food cooking at all. I sincerely hope tourists dont confuse this as representative of Italian / Roman cuisine. As a bar, its actually rather nice and they have an extensive selection of top shelf and artisinal selections. The staff was friendly and they were playing an NBA game which was appreciated. Ill just view the place as a pretty great bar with horrible food. Definitely visit for a drink.
We stumbled on this place checking out the area and we were so happy we did. #1 the WiFi was easily accessible which is great for travellers. We had a misunderstanding with our order (we ordered a cheese plate but she heard cheeseburger, honest mistakebut it was fixed promptly. THE CHEESE PLATE WAS MASSIVE. the service was amazing, thank you so much for chasing me out of the restaurant when I left my cell phone on the table! Good wine, good prices, great service. Thank you (grazie!!)
Nice restaurant/bar. Rock music, and really fine atmosphere. I ordered a hamburger and it was really good. I also hate to say that the French fries portion is quite big. The prices are fine and you get a lot of food in a reasonable price.
Food and wine was good. A little more expensive than other restaurants wed been to in Rome, but it was worth it for the wine really. Our problem was with the waitress... It was our last night in Rome and the end of a long trip around Europe so we wanted a nice meal to end the trip. Our main wish was to sit outside somewhere for the atmosphere, so when we saw empty tables outside this restaurant we thought wed try there, but the staff seemed snobby about giving us one of the many empty outdoor spots. We considered trying the restaurant next door, but were grudgingly given a table. The waitress seemed grumpy throughout the meal but it wasnt until the end that we were really shocked... She came and offered the desert menu when one of the party was still finishing their Pizza. When we politely refused she gestured towards them and said "finish that then"! Ive genuinely never had such a rude waitress. The food was OK really, but I wouldnt recommend because of how uncomfortable the waitress made us feel! There are much better restaurants in this area.
Fabulous pizza and air con, reasonably priced, with lovely staff, old Italian music hits and very cool interiour Love it!
My wife and I spent a month in trastavere and this was the worst restaurant experience we had. It started with a waitress who cared not about friendly service or even being there. But fine, we could have dealt with that. We sat at a table outside and ordered baccanale and suppli. It arrived at our table pretty fast (so that was nicebut when I picked up one of the pieces of baccanale there was a deep fried oily cockroach underneath. Luckily we had not taken a bite of anything. I quietly took the plate back inside to our waitress and she did freak out when she saw the bug. She then yelled something back to the cook. After I sat back down she came out to our table and questioned us about how and when we found the cockroach. We got the impression that she thought we were lying! She then asked if we wanted something else. We did not. She then just went back inside. Thats it. No apologies, no... "how do I make this right?" no... "we will take care of your drinks" no... "we are going to change the oil in the deep fryer". Nothing. She just left us at the table. My wife and I were staring at each other in bewilderment. We decided to just leave, leaving our half drunk drinks on the table. When I stuck my head into the restaurant to tell her we were leaving she was just ignoring everything that had just happened, nose buried in her iPhone. What a terrible place and experience. Dont go.
Nice craft beer selection but prices were a bit higher than I expected. They serve this tricky glasses that look like pint glasses but are about 75% of the volume, which also feels deceptive and a bad deal.Biggest issue with this place: One single toilet. How can I come here with friends at social hour? Crazy.
18€ for a liter of Spritz! And its not all ice cubes. Bonus: they were playing the Liverpool game and the staff is nice.
Nice staff, great food with wide beer offer.
The bartenders were nice and friendly... the mojito was excellent and shots are reasonably priced
Decent place, had their smoked burger menu, so 12 euros in total. Food was good, a tad on the salty side, but really good when youre craving some meat. Their mojito that everyones talking about was pretty good, strong but not sweet at all compared to my previous mojito experience. Nice place to grab a drink before going out.
