Bacaro Wine Bar in Canberra

Bacaro are currently doing pizza and antipasto on Wednesday and Thursday nights from 5-630. I can highly recommend it as a small child early dinner option. The margherita pizza was a hit with the 4yo. And as always delicious Italian and local wine options. Tira mi su or cannoli for dessert - both are excellent!

Oh yes this is pizza. Beautiful proofed fluffy crust. We attended the 5-6pm pizza in the back room and decided to have several glasses of nice Italian red wine. The waiter was amazing too and helped us choose wine wed like. We will be back.

On a good night their pizza is the best in Canberra. It’s mostly a good night. Great staff, they make a very good Negroni

What an amazing little wine bar tucked in the back alley in Canberra. Open late, serving some of the best wood fired pizza in ACT with a great wine list and nice small intimate setting. Perfect for a date night or catch up with a friend. Definitely worth a visit

Great little hidden venue on Lonsdale Street! They have a lovely wine list, you really can’t go wrong. Attentive staff, and great cocktails. The food menu is simple but good for a light meal. Get in early because it fills up quickly.

Pretty good pizzas. Even better when you come during their happy hour 5-7pm Thursday to Saturday as you have unlimited pizzas for $40

I would highly recommend this place - Unlimited delicious pizza Thursday to Saturday 5-7pm ($20hidden away out the back of Italian and Sons.Food and drinks - the 48hr risen dough is outstanding, its fluffy but chewy. Lovely toppings too. We had the Norma with eggplant, smoked riccota, the four cheeses with walnut pesto, Gorgonzola and cheese for days and the margarita. Wine list is extensive with lots of local favourites and specialties.Experience - Came here for pizza and drinks early on a Friday night. It was packed with a few people waiting around the 6:30pm mark. I arrived at 6pm and was seated straight away but it was the last table. The space is a little cramped. Originally seated in the corner on a tiny table (table for antswhich was horribly uncomfortable with your knees at table height. Thankfully we were able to be upgraded to a normal human sized table, had we not would have been an unpleasant experience.Service - Wait staff were friendly although a little slow as it was packed. The space is a little cramped, and youd be expecting to wait a little while.

A Canberra favourite, pricey but worth it.

So as you walk down the dirty bin smelling alleyway, you are blinded by two LED floodlights and you get the feeling that an underfed Doberman is enroute to make you his pizza for the night. When you see the outside seating you immediately notice the chairs are the same height as the tables... not great for a tall person such as myself. On entry the place looks suitably charming, sadly, despite three tables inside appearing to be vacant, we were offered the bar or the knee destroying outside tables... we took the bar. The food took much longer than I think a pizza should reasonably take to make and even with the excuse of Italian and Sons being very busy, it was a bitter pill to swallow. The final ‘never-again will I visit this place moment’ was the clearly very wealthy couple who were immediately offered one of the vacant inside tables... it appears that it really is who, rather than what you know. The pizza was very nice though.

Nice secluded wine bar off the hustle of Lonsdale St. Great wine selection. You can also get food through Italian and Sons, including cheese and meat plates; however, food is a bit pricey.

The best service + amazing wine and food. Take the alley to the right of Lonsdale st roasters, behind Italian and sons.
