Description
Privilege
Went without booking a table and the guy whos responsible (owner?told us "No, I dont have a table". Just this. We left and never went back again.
MoreWe had the Omelette, spicy tuna sandwich and shrimp sandwich plus 3 fries. Food was really delicious. Quite reasonably priced. The staff were lovely too. Thank you 😊
MoreLovely place where to have both luch and dinner, nice customer service and good choice of local beers. Definitely worth stopping by if in Svolvaer.
MoreHad my very first bacalao und it was delicious 😋😋😋
Nice place but not much choice in menu
Food was ok but personnel was quite rude.Would not return.
Very good, fresh and tasty food! Polite and friendly service
Nice and fast service, really good food :)
On a rainy day my husband and I came to Svolvaer to explore the town and to have the fish soup at Bacalao. Cute indoor dining and a large deck on the harbour with heat lamps when its chilly. It was a little confusing at first because there was a sign saying "Please wait to be seated" yet no one came to seat us. We were told to order at the bar and find a table which was fine. When we tasted the fish soup, we were in heaven: creamy, lots of fish, small shrimp, and mussels, served with focaccia. So good on a chilly, rainy day, highly recommended!
MoreAbsolutely delicious, fresh food. The cream fish soup is a must, highly recommend!
MoreAmazing place with great food. Value for money wise it was our best experience in Lofoten. The food is plenty and the prices really decent compared to the area average. Cant really recommend then enough
MoreHorrible service. Waiters behave like they do not need customers. Extremely disappointed. Not even the basics: they bring you fish soup but not the spoons, so go fetch waiters (all disappear at oncethen ask another table if they have spared ones... Shame.
MoreEnjoyed a beer and a pot of mussels on the harborside outdoor seating area. Delicious mussels with a fantastic view.
MoreNice place on the harbour. Maybe the best coffee in Norway I ever tried! A bit too big space makes the atmosphere maybe too impersonal
MoreGood atmosphere in the restaurant. Most places only offer a burger for none fish eater, they also served steak. I asked for some salad aside and this was also possible. Good service and good food. Bit to expensive for what you get.
MoreGreat Fishsoup! Service was also very friendly. Can definitely recommend.Prices are ok (usual Norwegian prices).
MoreThe food was actually good, but the service was actually like from another planet. Firstly we waited 10mins by the ”please wait to be seated sign” and looked the waiter in the eyes who just kept chatting with someone. So, we helped ourselves to the table. The same pattern continued throughout the night - not a single bit of interest was given. As a cherry on the top the waiter forgot to bring us the last drink - not like it would have been too busy because there was only one other table in the restaurant. Quite sad experience in a place that otherwise could be really cool
MorePretty location, but nothing special. Dishes of High quality, but not gourmet. Very Little quantity of food and really too high prices!
MoreThe bacalao is very good. But it really took a long time for it to be served to us.
MoreFor whatever reason the staff was ignoring us the whole time. We had to ask to be seated, we had to ask if we can order, then waited for the food an entire hour. We actually eat fast but till we got the whole service we spend 2 hours here. They also failed in our order 😅. The restaurant was half crowded but too time consuming. We really had a miserable experience here.
MoreGreat food. Mediocre service
Stopped by for drinks, the inside was completely full on a Wednesday night. We sat outside with the heaters, blankets and view of the harbour. Ended up sharing the muscles, very nice but thought they were going to be spicier ! … The staff was super friendly and quick to serve. Overall nice restaurant and location.
MoreGood food and vibe/ambiance, I got the burger
Despite most positive reviews we were quite disappointed: the menu is very limited what mostly is a good sign, but our food was coming out of the freezer. Not fresh at all. And the service: we had a comfirmed reservation but our name was not in the list, a menu with all drinks is not given, so we had to order our food first and than recieved the wine and cocktail card, not enough knives available on the table, and when asking to pay, the terminal was presented with a total the pay without even given an overview on papier…When I asked for the receipt they were not friendly at all. This restaurant feels likes a tourist trapp that only last week opened..
MoreI had lunch in this restaurant with my boyfriend during our summer trip. We enjoyed the clipfish burger and an Arctic beer, all very good!
MoreI dont know what we did wrong but I cannot remember any comparable bad service. Although only some of the tables were occupied we felt completely ingnored by at least 8 people of the Service Crew. We got the menu after asking for it at the bar. The drinks which we ordered were forgotten and we also missed to get the free bottle of water that was usual for other guests. No-one asked for the dessert or further drinks. The staff was busy with chatting and laughing at the bar. We felt very uncomfortable and wanted to leave the location as fast as possible. So there is absolutely no recommendation to visit that restaurant from my side although the food was OK (but nothing special).
MoreVery nice restaurant in the center of Svolvaer, right in front of the canal. Non a lot of choices but good dishes. Friendly environment.
MoreFriendly staff, doing their best when the restaurant is completely full. I tried stockfish and it was fantastic :)
MoreBacalao portion is very big, worth the money. If you are in just for tasting it I recommend sharing with a friend.
MoreSpecial food very delicious. Nice staff. Warm location. So fast. Perfect. To come again and order more dishes.
MoreWas here with the whole extended family with kids, ages 3 - 14. The atmosphere was not too formal, it was great. Had the tørrfisk, it was really good. Kids had burgers and fish&chips. They seemed to really like the food too. One of us had the fish soup too, no complaints there either. All in all a really nice place if youre looking for some good food with friends. Dishes were from 150ish NOK to 300-350 ish for the "tørrfisk". Recommended!
MoreUnexpected good foodWe found this place open during Christmas week and went for dinner. We ate the local stockfish with bacon butter and the fish soup. The best welcome we could have in Lofoten islands!!
MoreThe restaurant is well decorated and classy.Waiters and nice. The food is delicious especially the bacalao and the stockfish. Very tasty and well cooked. However, Ill remove one star because of the lack of choice in cocktails, a bit disappointing.
MoreNice restaurant that invites you to linger. It would be very helpful to complete the instructions at the entrance regarding the order in English. It is not a matter of course to go straight to the counter in a restaurant and order. However, the procedure was quickly explained to us in a very friendly manner (after we had sat downand a menu was brought to us. The burger was juicy and recommendable, only the sauce could be optimized. The fries were crispy but lacked salt. But that wasnt a problem as there was salt and pepper on the tables.
MoreWe had moules frites, really good. Their own beer, Lofot pils, is great! Recommended by our waiter, we were not disappointed. Great service!
MoreBest dinner i had in a very, very long time stockfish, absolutely recomended, lovely view and great food.
MoreI would have expected more from a restaurant that charges this much for a visit. I ate lunch and dessert at Bacalao. I ate the fish and chips and tasted the shrimp pasta which were very good but the portions were a little small especially the desserts. The service was not bad but not great either. The service could do better with being more attentive and hospitable with the guests.
MoreSuperb lounge music, really feeling comfortable from the first minute. Place where a lot of local people seem to go and great food, original hamburgers.Great choice of beers also!
MoreTrendy and traditional in one. GoodFood choices including Whale. I ordered the whale for about 35 dollars and was not disappointed. They have local beer on tap and cool ambience while eating. The service was good and knowledgeable when I quizzed them on whether the whale was sustainably caught. My wholeParty ate all their food which is rare so good job.
MoreDelicious Food. Bacalao serves good comfort food.
Great seafood, we had the seafood plate and the creme fish soup. The seafood plate was excellent, but was a bit overweight with shrimp. Overall great place.
MoreVery nice food. Love the environment.
I would not say this is a perfect place but the food is great, staff is nice, friendly and understanding.
MoreGreat place to grab dinner after a day exploring Lofoten. Cozy and relaxed environment and decent selection of beers and food, staff were friendly as well
MoreGood standard restaurant in Solvær.
Good place. Enjoyed the food and they got free citrus water.
Honestly nothing special. Its just ok but with the Swedish prices. No service at all but nice and warm location.
MoreVery stylish bar/pub with awesome food. Go for the spicy pasta which is simply amazing. Check this place out - you can also stop only for drinks. Prices are norwegian standard. Orders have to be made at the bar. Highly recommended.
MoreWe stayed there in June 2015. We stopped at this restaurant with a great view over the harbor after a long hike. They have a lovely terrace, perfect to enjoy the Arctic summer sun. Friendly staff, fast service. We had the vegan burger and the beef burger and it was delicious!
MoreThe place is very nice and placed in a good location. Soup Fish is expensive, but outstanding taste!! I advise this dish and this place. Good choice for local and foreigner beers!
