Friendly place to come grab food. The cashiers engage in conversation and go the extra mile. I enjoyed this fresh food take out on Terminal Ave for the last 3 years

Quality of ingredients was poor. Burrito was too wet....moisture from within soaked and made tortilla wrap soggy and falling apart. Much the same with my pork tacos. Tortillas fell apart.

Delicious food at a reasonable price. Great place for the fresh ingredients and fast service. Forgot to take pictures! Also, take out was in compostable or recyclable packaging. A bonus.

Always great service. I never have an issue with my order + the staff is always very friendly. Last time I went through the DT I gave what I could as tips and got an extra side of salsa.

Used to really love this place but am wondering if they lost their cook recently as the quality and consistency in flavour has begun to decline. Ordered the black bean soup and couldnt eat more than two bites because the amount of lime juice that had been added was just too overpowering.

the cactus fries taste like the deep fryer has never been cleaned before. they tasted and smelled so strongly of a grease trap that i couldn’t even eat them and i used to love getting those. the taco was good but bland mostly consisting of beans.

Great food that fills you up, prices are alright but can add up quick. The owner really needs to hire more staff. My last trip there, 2 cars left from the drive thru due to wait times. The girls working were trying really hard but flustered. They had to turn their Skip off as they were too busy.If the owner actually reads the reviews, double your staff, speed service times up, serve more customers and in turn, make more money. Your staff and your bank account will thank you!

Decided to give this place a try as I was having a hankering for a burrito. The service was great, fast and my burrito was a decent size. I ordered the Beef Buritio and a Jarrito my order came to $18, so I was down $20 after the tip. Much to my chagrin the burrito was very bland and consisted mostly of large hunks of bland stringy meat. I really didnt enjoy my meal and I was truly disappointed. I lost interest in eating it about a 3rd of the way through. I may give this place one more go somewhere down the road in the hopes that they were just having an off day. Oh well, they cant all be gems. My official score is 2.5 and would have been much higher if the quality was there.

Although they have a vegan menu, I would not suggest going here as a vegan or even vegetarian. Ordered a vegan taco and they gave me ground beef. After I explained that I have an allergy to meat, they blamed me. I asked for a manager to call me, the next day an employee called me and said they dont know when a manager would be in. The employee accused me of lying and said it was my fault for not mentioning no meat. I was violently ill and I was again blamed. Despite the vegan menu, I would not suggest eating here. The main location is much more thorough and accurate with their orders.

We ordered a variety to share (take away). Everything was fresh and so delicious. Favourites were the Del Rancho Burrito and the Southest Quesadilla!! And the salsa, so good. Definitely a new favourite!!

Great little restaurant, and no waste! Everything is compostable other than the tinfoil! Guilt free breakfast/lunch/dinner!

Baby Salsa was, as always very good. I ordered too much, it happens, so the churros will me a snack tomorrow.

Is it normal to get taco served in cold? Got cold taco for take out last night. Only been there twice. The first experience was great with hot taco take out. But yesterday I went again and got cold tacos. Im very disappointed to be honest.

Good food, but a bit on the expensive side. Ordered 2x santa fe burritos and got 2 little 6" things mostly packed with rice for 25$. It was good to try but never again for that price. I could go to convenience store and grab 2 chicken ceasar wraps for half the price and same quantity. Btw 14 bites to finish 😂😂 last time i was there 2 years ago, they were much bigger for 10$ each

Editing my rating: used to love this place, but the quality of food has dropped tremendously. Last two times Ive gone its been one thing or another. Tonight? I opened up my tacos and the tortillas were soggy and fell apart as I tried to pick them up to eat them. I wont be coming by again... bummer.

These burritos are SO GOOD but they are also a bit pricey. If you want delicious Mexican food relatively fast, without sitting down at a restaurant, this is the best option.

👍 GREAT - Great authentic flavours, much better than any other local "Mexican" restaurant except the "Original Baby Salsa". I especially recommend the Burritos! Great staff, Wonderful Food and Yummy Churros for dessert. We cant have the Mexican sunshine, but we can have Real Mexican Food! Ice Cream is now available, Chocolate, Vanilla or the "Combination Swirl", coming soon are Banana Splits, Sundaes and Frozen Bananas. The only problem is leaving enough room for dessert, the Burritos are Huge! 😊

Yummo!!! Try the fish tacos, huge burritos, churros are amazing and pretty much anything you choose will be enjoyable!! Everything is made to order so you might sit in the drive-thru for a few minutes longer than Timmies but I promise its worth it!!

Our family loved this place. My wife and son shared a chicken burrito, my daughter had chicken quesadillas and I had the vegan "fish" burrito. Everything was very good. I ordered a side of the fire salsa, it was very hot and very delicious. The vegan fish burrito is so good. Great selection af beverages, which my kids enjoyed. The only thing I would change is the seating and ambiance. A little music and a couple more tables or outside seating would be nice. It would be a great place to sit outside in the summer. We will definitely be back.

This is where my wife and I go when we dont feel like cooking and its Saturday night and its a long wait to go to a sit-down restaurant so we swing by Baby Salsa Express and go sit by the water with our dinner. And since its consistently good food and fast friendly service its an excellent choice. My most recent visit I was greeted by a sign saying all take-out containers (excluding foil of which I had noneare compostable! How fantastic is that?

Its not a great place if you want to eat in, its more for drive-thru or pickup, but I like the food and they have decent salsas, I especially like the fire one

Excellent food, not as wide of a selection as at the University Village location but minimal wait times make it ideal for a quick dinner p/up on the way home, really nice to get import beverages out of glass bottles, friendly staff make it worth while even if it is a little on the pricey side...

Since discovering this drive thru/cafe it is our go to for amazing mexican food. Its replaced all other drive thrus when we are travelling between Victoria and Parksville. The service is great and our orders are always spot on. Ive even ordered for 6 adults and all were amazed. My young adult sons say its better than tacofino! Please open one in Victoria!!

Quality products, Competative prices, nice staff, and veggie options make this the place to go in Nanaimo for quick Mexican food. Much better value than the newly opened fast food competition.

First time I went there they messed up my order and had to re do it and so they took my old food and literally forgot about me until I came back over 15 minutes later and so it was an hour long experience for sub par food.Second time I customized my tacos and specifically said 6 times that I hate sour cream and the girl who seemed to have an iq of a sandwich took 10 minutes to get my order into the machine and then I go home and open my tacos and there is sour cream everywhere.Don’t go here. Horrendous service. Outrageously dumb people. Sub par food.

The beef burritos are fantastic, especially with their blackened habanero salsa and a bit of Valentinas black label.The salsa they serve with the complimentary tortilla chips is excellent as well.

Horrible quality, high prices, they were low on stock during a long weekend, and one of the workers was getting high outback when I arrived. After seeing that I shouldnt have gone in but I did anyway only to be met with an under kept store in dire need of dusting, a leaking roof that I alerted the girl (who was getting high out backabout, and she responded with "yeah I dont know how to fix that." Where are the health inspectors in Nanaimo?

Food was ok, service good. Gave me a kids quesadilla instead of adult I paid for, so it was a bit bland. Nice churros.

Had a craving for Mexican, food was actually surprisingly good! Mexican drive thru always kinda turned me off but id go back. Did take a bit to get our food (larger orderthough, so dont expect it to be as quick as most drive thrus

The menu is surprisingly large and varied. Being very close to my home, my son and I have taken the opportunity to try many different menu selections and have never been disappointed. The best part is that they have an excellent drive thru, which in itself is a fast and awesome way to pick up authentic Mexican yumminess on the way home. This place is fantastic!
