Good Italian restaurant with European standards and prices

Serves delicious Italian cuisine in Malindi. Great service & loved their vegetarian menu
This is a gem .food was great had Capresso salad with Focaccia bread and spinach tortellini with sage and butter.Real Italian dining.
Authentic italian food at a reasonable price. Delicious fried calamari and pasta filled with zucca with gorgonzola sauce! I would come back any time
Loved the Italian feel. Everything is Italian....best pizza place in malindi. Very well placed and neat
Best dining experience I had at the coast so far. Marvellous food and friendly service. I’m returning soon.
Delicious food, relaxing music, good service
Initially i would eat at Baby Marrow only during special occasions but that has changed because of how comfortable it feels there. The staff Ngala and Paul are very helpful and always eager to assist with suggestions on the Menu. The setting is perfect at night and i love the mood the lighting creates. They even provide mosquito repellent in case you need it.The food is very good and consistent which is key and priced mid range. The portions are filling. They also have a good selection of desserts. The owner , Maurizio is around sometimes and always makes a point to take your order. They charge a small fee if you pay by card.*Update- had the sea food pizza today. It was divine
The ravioli was delicious.
Great experience! Food was great, our waiter friendly and more than helpful.
Great service Authentic Italian restaurant with a very reasonable seafood fare
Loved their sea food.Great Italian dishes!!Must try!!
Delicious Italian food with a menu that differs from other Italian restaurants in Malindi who tend to all serve similar (sometimes very nicefood. Prices are higher than in the average Italian restaurants in Malindi. The place is amazingly beautiful with its big old trees and the decoration job very tasteful.Unfortunately, there seems to have been some changes in the foreign management/staff and one does not feel welcomed at all if one is not part of their close friends who get hugs when arriving.Hospitality is a profession that can be learnt but not heartfelt it feels fake. The middle management is rude and unfriendly as if trained in an European back-country fast food joint. To compensate for that, the Kenyan staff are lovely and friendly but their is a feeling of over self-consciousness about them, as if they were constantly fearing to do something wrong...
Nice decent food. The owner can take your order and can discuss what you like. Be careful, he can be curt sometimes.
This was my second time here and as usual the food was amazing! The only thing that I found unsettling just like I did the first time, was the fact that the owners who are extremely hands-on did not bother to even come close to our table yet they went to EACH and every other one. I think it is because we were the only black people present! It was really weird.
Its a beautiful joint next to the road. The seafood pizza is a bite of sweet heaven. The wall paintings will keep you glued and in awe the entire time...thanks to gianpaolo Tomasi.Staff very friendly .We loved this joint and you must visit it when in watamu.
My favorite restaurant in Malindi, descent and in a quiet place....food is excellent and prices are average....
The food is good and the place looks nice. The family that owns the restaurant, however, is very rude to its Kenyan personnel. I even saw the owner clapping to one of the Kenyan staff members while he was serving us. He had done something wrong. Also a lot of arguing just behind our table. Everything was very rushed, no real customer care. Conclusion: nice place but the owners should be much more respectful to its Kenyan staff.
Small and cosy Italian art restaurant with a cuisine that stands out. These guys have a couple of unique items on the menu, and Ill give them bonus points for culinary creativity. The ham-wrapped prawns on a mango-pineapple salad is something you wont find elsewhere, and the deep fried softshell crab is also a rarity in Malindi. Great service too!
The best Pizza, we had steak too and it was good. The ambience is also refreshing and the dessert was perfect. Would totally reccomend if you are in Malindi.
Delicious food! Sweet service! Great ambience and beautiful art !
The best Italian restaurant in Kenya, not only Kenya.Ive been to Malindi 4 times. This restaurant is always great. The food and hospitality were amazing.highly recommend ink spaghetti. Now, I cant eat ink spaghetti at other place..Some of people complain unequal service. Maybe true.90% of customer was Italian. Owner was busy to host them to make them feel home.I am Asian and my wife is African.Owner didnt treat us like Italian. But we didnt feel racism at all. He was still nice and kind to us.just different.I think same thing can be happened at oriental food restaurant or Kenyan food restaurant in non-african countries.
Awesome ambience, very clean and well serviced. Best Pizza in town, fresh from traditional Italien wood oven. Home made pasta and many more original Italien dishes. Must have been there when staying in Malindi.
Really delicious, varieties of food, fresh ingredients, maurizio the owner is really friendly and welcoming.Highly recommended :)
Excellent food. Delicious and didnt cause any stomach upset despite having peptic ulcers. I would definitely fo again ***********
Great food and ambience.Lovely service by Carol and Maurizio
This was my first visit. We ordered 3 pizzas. All were freshly made. Vegetarian mumbai and chicken. The service was excellent and fast. They did not serve a diet drink. All in all a good place to visit.
Beautiful place by the ocean with very good service. The food is served in good portions but make sure you specify how you want your grilled meat done .
The food is delicious. Nice ambience and art selection. Try the recommended items on the menu for a tantalizing experience.
The pizza was super good at a reasonable price. The restaurant itself is just simple-ordinary.Good location.. just by the road. Perfect for dinner especially for two or more people.
Best pizzas in Malindi. The artwork is breathtaking service is professional.
Owned by an Italian. The food was fantastic. Nice seafood. Wanna go there again. very romantic place.
One of the best restaurants in Malindi. Had great food although the owner(an Italianwho usually takes the order of every guest refused to do so for us and clearly seemed prejudiced towards us. I paid him the bill & didnt even look at me which was strange. The other staff were very polite & efficient & quick service.
The restaurant is an a great and beautiful location. But that s it!!! We went there yesterday, we had booked in the morning, the owner and host Maurizio didn t even remember he looked very stressed and unorganized. A waiter took us to our table....we waited 30 minutes for the starters( it s ok is a relaxed place1.5h for the mains!! The kids were sleeping on the table we had to ask for the food several times to different waiters and they kept saying is coming.Once the food arrived it wasn t worth it the waiting. The lobster weren t fresh but frozen!!!! The pasta with prawns and zucchini was disgusting and I can keep going on... My son was completely asleep so I asked for a carton to take his pizza and they charged us for it..Seriously avoid this place!!! Only good note the bartender a very polite and friendly man.
I have very mixed feelings when it comes to this restaurant. Had I been a teacher the report card for Baby Marrow would read could do better, and it really could. The restaurant presents itself well; a large thatched roof with lovely works of art hanging on the walls, well placed lighting highlighting the central tree. It all comes across very romantic and inviting. Unfortunately its success in creating ambience is let down terribly by the food. The meals are porely presented, no garnish and lacking in any real care. The kicker is that they taste nice enough just zero wow factor or reason to remember them. I now know why there are so few photos of the food. Overall the restaurant feels confused in what it whats to be.
The atmosphere is great. The art work adds a very nice touch to the place. The menu is expansive and there are a lot of quality dishes to choose from. The staff is top notch and the pricing for the food is good. The wine pricing is kind of high but you need it to wash down a food meal.
The hotel has an Italian management and taste. It is very clean in all areas, the rooms are of a good size cleanedand towels changed daily if you put them in the bath. The drinks are good and the staff very welcoming.Gives good coastal view!
