Grand plaza where Ho Chi Minh declared Vietnam's independence from France & where his body now lies.
best time, on morning. arrive before 8am.
I just came here 6am and 9pm for flag raising and lovering ceremony. I love Vietnam.
I cant think of a better way to end an exotic trip to southeast Asia than by the viewing of a dead body, none other than Ho Ch Minh himself! That whacky dude is permanently on ice! 5 stars bro.
Good place to work out and meet people :))
Historical place, pure atmosphere, good place to walking and relax
Great place. Please visit it at 9pm if you have chance. Everyday at 9pm, they eill take the big flag in fromt of Ho chi minh mausoleum down and hang it again at 5 a.m the next day. It is great to see this occation with 40 soliders will do it solemnly. Amazing to see.
I mean, its the resting place of the great uncle Ho,definitively a landmark in Hanoi and a very important place for Vietnamese identity and nationalism.
Ba Dinh Square is a remarkable place with a rich historical background. Gardens are particularly well maintained. The entire ambience speaks of how the nation respects the enigmatic national hero, the President Ho chi Minh. Had the opportunity to see the final resting place of Uncle Ho, the National Assembly from outside, the Presidential building constructed by the French, President Hos residential building and a lot of other places including one pillar pagoda.Loved the journey through Ba Dinh Square/ Province.
A big square can accommodate many people.
The parade every night is well organized
One of Hanoi historical landmark to visit. The place is cleaned and well maintained. Hugh square for walking which is quite good for exercise. It has story on every steps you walk by. Dont miss if you come around this area. Very nice weather and scenery if you have better come in winter. Always full by tourists.
Here lies the body of Ho Chi Minh. It’s a nice place to go for a walk!Cover shoulders and legs going into this area! Also you go through a metal detector!
Well maintained historical place where the body of ho chi Minh is preserved.Place is worth a visit when in Hanoi.Good to visit early morning to avoid crowd and remember it is closed on Monday
It is ho chi Minh Vietnam president stachue , it is the place where the president announced freedom from french ,
If you want to see the crypt of ho chi ming president you must go between 7 and 11 in the morning. They only open few hours and it is very protected by many soldiers. They ask you to keep the bags and the cameras in one store. But is worth plan the morning too see the crypt.
Youll need to get pass security check points to get into this area
Clean and large..many people do exercise here...even in the night
Mausoleum and government offices around the square. Tip: visit the flag ceremony at 9pm everyday.
Great experience watching the 9pm flag ceremony.
It was nice to be here once in your life if you were Vietnamese
Crowded Yet Well MaintainedOn the last day, the first plan was visiting Ba Dinh Square. Unfortunately, I came during school holiday which mean a lot of local tourist from everywhere came to Ba Dinh Square. The queue to enter Ba Dinh Square had already very long, forced cancellation enter Ba Dinh Square for limited time reason, later managed to take picture at in front of Ba Dinh Square.Despite being crowded and hot weather (at that time the weather was cloudy, but was humid too), all visitor patiently waited in line. No trash seem at field.
Very important place for the Vietnamese people security check before you enter the place
This is a big Square, famous location of Ha Noi, many people come here everyday. At 9 p.m, have a special activity, you should come here for see, its interesting..
A very historic area where Ho Chi Ming Mausoleum is located. Also his residence, the National Assembly. This square is famous because it is where Ho Chi declared Independence on 9/2/1945.
The place you should visit if you are in Hanoi, Vietnam.
A handsome square with national points of interest, a MUST for visitors.
No entry fee on the square, Ho Chi Min museum costs 40k VND per person. Well maintained, clean place. Tight security; have to pass through body/bag scanning. No chewing gum allowed(yeah!).
Great place, clean and sensational. Open in the morning and close afterward.
To take a chance to view a great historic man of viet peoples
Be cognizant of the hours the Mausoleum keeps. They close around lunchtime. Also I would recommend not visiting on the weekend. When we attempted to visit on a Saturday the line stretched several city blocks. I say this with no exaggeration. Also, if you have a Cab drop you off at the Mausoleum make sure they do so in the right location. If they drop you off in front of the lawn youll have to walk a long distance to the entrance behind it.
Very lovely square but can be a bit of a pain to get into. You may have to do a lot of walking to find the correct entry point as many of them are only available to exit from.
Didnt really spend much time here as we only took pictures.
The square is nice and very relaxing to walk around in but there is no benches to sit down on and youre not allowed to walk on the grass so after a while you feel like you want to continue somewhere else.
I was there in pleasant weather in January 2018
Its a nice historical place in Hanoi. Ba Dinh Square is the name of a square in Hanoi where president Ho Chi Minh read the Proclamation of Independence of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on September 2, 1945. It is named after the Ba Đình Uprising, an anti-French rebellion that occurred in Vietnam in 1886–1887 as part of the Cần Vương movement. When Ho Chi Minh died, the granite Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum was built here to display his embalmed body. It remains a major site of tourism and pilgrimage.Ba Dinh Square is in the center of Ba Đình District, with several important buildings located around it, including the Presidents Palace, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, and the National Assembly Building.Nowadays, Ba Dinh square is one of the few green and unoccupied areas of urban Hanoi. Many important events such as parades and commemoration of veterans take place at the square. Interestingly, despite its solemnity during the day, during the night time, the square is a popular gathering place for the local: families who want a walk, elderly who want to exercise and friends who want to hang out. A visit to Ba Dinh Square can be combined as a day or half-day trip to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh Museum and One-pillar Pagoda.
They have 2 rites everyday. One is for uppering the national flag at 6:00 am, and the other is lowering the national flag at every 9:00 pm. The weather is cool and a little but wet. At the morning, there are lots of people doing exercise here. And whenever the rite is taken place, everyone stands still up to the end of the rite. If you want to enjoy a traditional Hanoi, you must visit those 2 rites. No car or bike parking is provided in this area, but you can try bus.
Ba Dinh Square is a historical site of Hanoi. Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts, Ho Chi Minh Museum, the Presidential Palace and the One Pillar Pagoda are located in Ba Dinh Square.
Good to walk through, and escape the traffic and smog a little. Mausoleum is closed on Fridays.
Clean. Long queue on Sunday. Alternative way to see in far away. Near to fence.
Cool place to walk around in early morning or evening
Its great! I was at nightime so it was full of lights. There were some Vietnamese people doing some light jogging and walking. Its a nice place to chill.
Frankly a chilling experience, seeing the tomb and the guards and going through the elaborate security check - but you cant come to Hanoi and miss out on this.
First time Ive ever visited these types of Squares and boy is it vast. Worth a visit just for the historical significance of the location. Great place to go for a run. Not a bad spot to take photos at sunset/night either. Also fun to watch the occasional oblivious tourist ignore the huge line you arent suppose to cross, when taking photos 😂
Grand open space to overlook the political centre of the city with several key buildings around, but theres nothing much to visit if you miss ths opening hours of the Mausoleum (before 11am). But we were lucky to chance upon a simple changing of guards ceremony (2pmat the entrance of the Mausoleum. It takes a security screening to enter the area, so be prepared to lose your water bottles.
Good place to visit if you are in Hanoi, but cannot use camera stand to take photo. One thing I dont like is Motor cycle tour or some tour man always around there and keep asking you to go there and there with this price, they will offer you until you said really no. But use Uber moto is much more cheaper and safety. And the price is show directly before you booking.
Best place for early morning or evening walk as it becomes quite windy at the front grass and road space. Visitors are required to dress properly for the entrance of the mausoleum tho. The inside garden is great and cozy. Come at rite time so u can join the raising and putting down of the flag.
Probably the most popular spot in Hanois city center. And with good reason. Imagining Ho Chi Minh delivering the Declaration of Independence here is an amazing experience. A must-see when in Hanoi. Didnt get to go inside the Mausoleum because I have no patience for lines, but I was told the line progresses pretty quickly.
Feeling historical. Viewing with light up was mystical.
Its a mouseum for honor the president of Vietnam who gave independent for the country.
Nothing too special here. But its still worth a trip down to see one of the few remaining huge French colonial buildings around here
