We really enjoyed the experience. 7 course unwritten taster menu with accompanying wine flight. Very reasonably priced, at no point did we feel rushed. The front of house team were really lovely. Gave us a little explanation of what we were being served and then again with the wine. Everything was really tasty. Left feeling full and happy. Would highly recommend a visit.

Overall great service, decided to do the tasting menu - everything was well cooked and food balanced, atmosphere lovely. Food was a little on the bland side and the portions a little small. Caters a tasting menu for vegetarians.Overall probably a little disappointed based on the current reviews.

Had the tasting menu and it was delicious, lovely fresh fish and some really tasty vegetables as well. Catered well for gluten free as well and had some really tasty bread to start. Some nice English Sparkling wines too, will definitely be back

Box E is brilliant, we went for all three courses. The food is incredible, the miso aubergine was delicious and the rhubarb creme pudding was exquisite. Also highly recommend the cocktails. The time before I had gone for the kitchen table which was really brilliant also, it is very special to hear the stories behind the food you are eating.

Fantastic dinner! Simple menu, simple food cooked perfectly. Flavours & season absolutely spot on, high quality ingredients, reasonably priced in an intimate, relaxed setting with friendly staff.

Beautiful food, we had the taster menu so each course was a surprise. Every course was delicious, mine was a vegetarian and neither of us could fault the food or the service. Would recommend and will be visiting again when we are next in the area :)

Visited BOX-E for husband’s 30th - incredible experience & totally worth it! Each course was delicious with many unique dishes. Loved that they could easily cater for dietary requirements/allergies. Everyone was very nice and friendly. We will 100% visit again in a few months to try a different 7-course tasting menu.

Absolutely fantastic place. Went here with my mom about a month ago. The chief and his wife - the sommelier - own the restaurant and are both incredibly pleasant and knowledgeable on food and wine.We got the tasting menu and everything was absolutely fantastic. I mean, I wish the scallops had a tiiiiiiny bit more salt but they still were fantastic. The cheese course was mind-blowingly mouthwatering. The desserts were also immensely delicious. We also had the wine pairing and it was great! Some amazing wines with great info given the lady owner, the chief’s wife. Check out the pics below.

Small but perfectly formed. Very nice staff. Delicious food and drinks. I had smoked trout starter and duck with a takeaway choc mouse as I ran out of time. Lovely rubarb aperitif as well. Lovely lunch. Thanks Team Box-E

Just as I expected from a 4 time Michelin guide referenced spot! Food was awesome and I greatly appreciate a small menu because I dont need to choose because we just ordered 1 of everything!Vanilla pannacotta was to die for!Meat and fish well cooked and seasoned and a nice variety of flavours too. Well priced also and polite and attentive staff. Well worth going, Ill definitely be returning.

One of the best meals Ive eaten. Small yet beautiful dishes that leaves you feeling satisfied. Quality attentative service to match the talented kitchen staff. Quality array of craft beers and wines that match the food. A must visit for those new to Bristol

We attended their tasting evening, with all five courses paired with riesling. Both the food and wine were impeccable, the service was flawless and the complimentary bottle opener for #30daysofriesling will be a timeless reminder of a brilliant evening. We shall certainly be returning!

Great food and exceptional service. Had a vegan tasting menu which can be hit and miss when you go to a meat-first place. It was clear the Box-E team are passionate about food and creating lovely flavours regardless of whether it’s an animal or plant based meal.

The atmosphere is great! Cosy and chill vibe, service is on point.The bread and dessert are awesome.The scallop starter tasted good but a bit overcooked.Fish dish needs more of complexity to the taste. I couldn’t finish this dish. It should have some hint of curry flavour (as described on the menubut I didn’t feel it.

We were at Box E for a celebratory meal and what an experience. Welcoming and helpful and the food was good, lamb succulent and tasty all served with a flourish. Desserts were delightful and Drinks fine value. A restaurant we would recommend and definitely return to again. This business deserves your visit

Amazing food as usual from Elliot @Box-e

The food was divine. The open kitchen was impressive as I enjoyed watching the chefs lovingly prepare our meal, which may I add was of the highest quality. I devoured (inhaledthe salmon within 2 minutes (much the annoyance of my fiance ). I will be returning with or without my fiance.

Returned to Box E this time for a surprise birthday celebration. Great to see that Elliot has kept his same high standards if not improved on them. Once again a superb menu to choose from and excellent staff who were very knowledgeable on the menu ingredients. This is good to see and must follow Elliots teaching he has always taken time out to inform. Fine dining to suit all tastes and it must be good as our two grandchildren enjoyed all courses which proves Box E can cater for all. Look forward to returning again.

Fantastic food! Michelin stars the past 3 years. Menu changes daily but we loved everything we ordered, so you cant go wrong. Venue is quiet and adorable.We are from the U.S., and a place like this would have lines out the door and the prices would be doubled. A must-try!

It was incredible food. They could do with a shade over part of the window. The service was particularly excellent and all the staff were enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the wines and foods being served. Spent four hours over the seven course meal with wine. I would prefer to give 4.5 🌟

Booked the tasting menu and wine flight at the kitchen table and couldnt fault it! An amazing experience, so much more than just going out for a meal. The staff were so knowledgeable about the wine and we loved that the menu is unwritten. Would go back again 100%, as the menu would be different every time! Absolutely loved it.

Having the kitchen tasting menu with flight of wine was a fabulous experience. The food was amazing and watching it being prepared and cooked was a great part of the evening. The chefs attention to detail was fascinating. Our group of four walked away very happy indeed!

Fantastic, I cant speak highly enough of Box-E.Used the kitchen table twice now and each time has been nothing short of perfect. The tasting menu is very reasonably priced considering the high quality of the food, the wine flight is expertly chosen, a great match to the fab food and Elliott and his team are all ace. You might have guessed I like this place. A lot.

We have just eaten at the kitchen table at Box-e and it was a fantastic experience. We were greeted and offered the opportunity to sit outside for part of our meal if we wanted to as it was such a warm evening. Food was simple but beautifully cooked/prepared. Menu is limited, which I like, as it means the chefs are focused. Service very welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. Im coming back..

Wow! If you can do the tasting menu at the Kitchen table. An amazing experience with fantastic food and wine. The passion of the chefs and his wife is clear. I would 100% recommended to friends and family. I plan to go again soon.They were happy to adjust the menu for me due to my nut allergy.

Absolutely incredible food, sat at the kitchen table so had the best seat in the house to watch chef Elliot do his thing! Anyone that loves cooking, I would recommend you sit at the kitchen table if you can.My friend and I couldnt decide what to have, so shared all 4 starters between us and had a dessert. Food was amazing, best lunch Ive had in Bristol to date. Will definitely be coming back.Extremely reasonable too - only £40 each for 5 dishes, a nice bottle of wine and a cocktail each. Highly recommend.

We experienced the tasting menu and it was absolutely on point. Hands down some of the best food I have ever eaten and the service was impeccable.

Box-E is a fantastic little place set in and around buzzing trendy part of town. I was really pleasantly surprised by the look and feel of the restaurant, what the owners have achieved here is amazing.We had a taster style menu with different wines and every one was lovely. All the staff were very friendly but more importantly they were knowledgeable on the food and wines being served.I would definitely recommend it but do ensure you book, because of its size the seating is very limited.

If you have a big appetite go elsewhere. Portions are on the smaller side that you kinda expect with higher end restaurants. Having said that the food was excellent, the staff very freindly and attentive. The setting very down to earth in a converted container.The chocolate mousse was very very good.Recommended but expensive at £30+ each for lunch and that was with a soft drink.

Simply spectacular. The food was exceptional, the staff friendly and attentive and the setting excellent. For what on first inspection seems like an impossibly small restaurant delivers an excellent menu cooked and server by passionate well informed staff without any sense of pretentiousness. The menu is high end and the price matches this however the sheer talent on display here more than makes it worth while.If you have an opportunity to eat here please do as I suspect this is the beginning of very big things for this great team.

Absolutely amazing! We sat at the chefs table and had the taster menu with the matching wine flight. From start to finish everything was flawless. Highly recommend. As other people mention it is an intimate dining experience. We really enjoyed our evening there. All the staff are friendly, and Tessa was very accommodating with our booking. Thank you so much! :)

Amazing!! The restaurant is in a cargo container so please expect a small area with the kitchen facing customers. The decoration details are nice, specially the pottery! The drinks list is very good and well thought (local gin brewery). The food is incredible...thank you Chef! The ingredients fresh and the mis-en-place (plates presentationis fantastic, quality food! The service is phenomenal, very attentive and polite. We will definitely be back, often!

Elliott Lidstone’s little restaurant delivers a big experience! Thoughtful delicious dishes paired with warm attentive service and a cozy atmosphere.We enjoyed the tasting menu seated at the chef’s table. The menu builds, with each dish more delicious than the last. Lexi also gave excellent wine suggestions.Restaurant is tiny, with I think a maximum of 14 covers so book well in advance.

We had a truly excellent meal at BOX-E, a very well curated menu with four select starters and three mains - which suits the small cosy restaurant.The meal started with warm slices from a small bread load with a salty, savoury seaweed butter. The starters were clean and simple, with fresh local ingredients. Chopped beef fillet was better than any tartare Ive had - simple and clean. Crab and charred hispi cabbage was another great dish - dont miss out on the charred leeks with Somerset pecorino for main.A really excellent restaurant, great service, great decor and excellent seasonal and local menu.

Wonderful new restaurant. Elliott really knows his favours, Tess runs everything smoothly. Everything is perfection. Small. Cosy. Every morsel is delicious.

Exceptional food and service, it may be small and in a cargo crate but dont be put off! There are very few restaurants with this calibre of food in Bristol at the moment, nothing was below excellent in terms of flavour, quality and presentation
