Am Olympiapark 2, 80809 München, Germany, Nuernberg
Futuristic steel museum housing engines, designs plus vintage & new cars from the much-loved brand.
The complete history of one of the biggest automobile brands of Germany. It’s a must visit place. You can easily spend 2-3 hours learning about the BMW history and see all the powerful machines there. They are still adding new bikes and cars.Easy to reach the museum. You can buy the tickets online 10€ per person. You can keep your bags in lockers before going on the museum tour.
10 Euros entry, very detailed museum dedicated to the history of the Bavarian Motor Works company. Lots of cars on show, as youd expect. You can download an app for the audio tour so its worth bringing headphones.Cafe at front was good too. You have to put bags in a locker which needs a euro coin.
We really enjoyed our visit to the BMW museum. Nice journey through the history of BMW. Huge variety of cars and motorcycles. I was very impressed how they acknowledged their role in treatment of forced labor workers (Nice exhibit on that history as well). We arrived at opening to avoid the large crowds. By the time we were leaving their was a line to enter.Staff very friendly. Nice little cafe and shop on premises as well.Very easy by metro from center of Munich.
Very nice and well organized museum to get to know the history of the BMW. Great display of cars, bikes and various engines from BMW. There are options to join guided tours or just go around on your own. You need probably 1,5 to 2 hours to visit the whole museum. There are path all around the museum to guide you.I find it very helpful.
Interesting exhibitions, but not that exciting.BMW vehicles were displayed alongside their technology, including up coming tech. The building itself was smartly designed.Must visit for automotive lovers, especially BMW Fans!
Great museum for car lovers. The history behind all the motor vehicles are interesting. The museum is also well organized.
Amazing place. For any car or motorcycle enthusiast, the BMW museum is a must visit whilst in Munich. The site offers a rich history of the brand and it’s journey from motorcycle and aircraft development, later into cars.
Building looks cool from the outside and the museum design and path are really good, some nice voice features Ive never seen before. Some of the bike areas empty but all cars and engine(mostly Formula and planessections are great(especially the f1 and and the touring racing). Price is reasonable for 1.5h - 2h museum.
Amazing exhibition of the BMW history and some of the more recent concepts. Really comprehensive collection of outstanding BMW cars, engines and historic pieces. Very very recommended.
Super cool place for all car lovers! Entry fee is only 10 euros. The places closes at 18:00, but it’s worth visiting the BMW Welt as well.
Amazing place. Fan boy or not this place has great history to show. All the cars at the museum are very unique and are described with great depth of detail which all the history behind the vehicles. If you are in the Munich or are at a close city I recommend visiting. A must see! Loads of gifts shops available at entrance of museum and at the BMW Welt area. Canteen has all sorts of hot and cold food so it won’t be difficult to plan your day here. It has a large car park finding space is not a struggle and it’s not expensive. Bays are large all sorts of vehicles can fit there no problem.
Learned a lot about BMW and celebrated their legacy along the way. Material and live examples of the artifacts from over the years were presented beautifully. My only complaint: no air conditioning. Many of the rooms were very warm.
Ticket adult price: 10€Nice and modern place who shows the history of the brand from its begining up to the present timeNot so crowded during the weekends. The site has 2 buildings: 1 the one itself containing the artefacts.from history of BMW auto and moto , with detailed explanations , a lot of cars and motorcycles. Place for relax( search the jungle area on the top of the footway ).Also you can find a coffee/restaurant when you can rest for a bit, a museum shop providing a lot of souvenirs ( a bit expensive). For the 2nd building , it must exist 1st one, pass the bridge over the street, and then you will discover the modern auto show room exposing the modern car from the BMW brand group:Mini, Rolls Royce and BMW.
Im giving it just 4 stars because I missed a lot of classic cars. Its centered mostly around post-80s cars. Very good examples, but no historical cars. Also, lighting can be a bit tricky as some parts appear to be way to dark to really appreciate the cars. Also, during my visit, they were removing the motorcycles from the wall, maybe they couldve waiting until closing hours?
Very cool museum worth visiting both to adults and kids. Theres good amount of cars, engines, motorcycles, companys history and future direction. It is really well done museum.
An interesting museum with a great collection of BMWs, however, I wouldn’t say it’s a must to visit. There are other automotive museums that are organised in a more entertaining way. If you’re a huge BMW fun though for sure you’ll find something for yourself there :)
Awesome place to get to know the origins and history of the company. Great display of cars, bikes and various engines from BMW, with simple enough descriptions for the casual visitor. There are options to join guided tours or just go around on your own. The museum takes a bit more than an hour from where its a short walk to the BMW World.
This place is an absolute must for anybody that likes cars. Not only that the museum is full of very rich history of the BMW company but it is also has all of its models restored and I guess that many of them never even hit the road. I strongy recommend to visit this place and see in your own eyes. By the way if I am not mistaken then the three towers of the offices are representing three cylinders of car motor.
If youre a BMW fan this is truly the place to visit once in your life. the evolution of the BMW motors from planes and motorcycles to sports/race and modern electric cars is truly amazing, well organized. the Staff are friendly. the Tour through the 3 floors of history is awesome where you can see the greatness of this symbol in the Motor world. The entrance is 10 Euros/adult, 7 Euros/kids and theres special offers for families and group of people. It is very recommended to visit and witness the great history of the BAVARIAN MOTOR WERKS.
Nice museum containing engines, bikes and cars. There are also temporary exhibitions related with BMW and future of motoring. You can easily reach by the metro station located just 5 mons away. Buying tickets online saved us a lot time.
Must visit this place if you are visiting Munich. You can see many of the old models of BMW cars and bikes here with details along with the exhibits. They have put many engines also in display. You could buy nice souvenirs from the gift shop there.
All kinds of different automobiles from different eras, engines and lots of information about the history of the brand. Maybe a bit more specific and engine-oriented compared to the Audi museum in Ingolstadt.Easy to access due to the good U-Bahn connections and therefore also has more people compared to the Audi museum.
Great experience during their 50th anniversary. Awesome exhibits and some cool BMW one offs like an E30 truck and 1989 M8 concept. Not expensive, so get the museum tour as well for insights.
Great place, the best museum that i have ever been. Perfect place for every carhead and bmw fan. But dont buy a ticket with a guide, its boring and not necessary. In all museum is great discriptions. When you are traveling across and want to see or knew something more ask a information workers, they would open a cars for you and tell a lot of things about it
Good place to learn about their history and products. The showroom and museum are huge and attractive. Buying ticket in advance is highly recommended ❤️
The current exhibition is 50 years of M division and the cars and other exhibits are good. But the entire upper part is just an attempt to green wash a car producer. None of the other historic BMW vehicles, instead poster after poster about green technologies and recycling. Good goals but not the right place. At least admission is cheap but I left a bit disappointed.
A must see if you are a BMW fan, or just love cars, motors, technology and history. You will easily spend at least one hour, probably more. The gift shop is not that interesting, but the cafe is good place to have a snack before you head to the next sight.
A motor mania indeed😍😍. As in the case of car museums, the BMW museum also carefully crafted their timeline till date. They have also had a separate section above the entrance point to showcase how the company believes to operate in the future and the appropriate measures taken so as to achieve it. It is a must for anyone as it basically about the automobile world rather than only about cars.
Its a huge BMW showroom. The building has great architecture however the entire experience is average. There isnt much history here and most of the cars are from back to the future era.
Even if you’re not a car/motorcycle enthusiast almost anyone can appreciate the BMW museum, it has the wow factor! It felt like the right amount of vehicles to keep your interest and not bore (speaking as a wife of a car lover). The displays were cool and it felt upbeat.
Really cool experience all around. Very well thought out history of the company and all of its manufacturing prowess. There are two options for the museum - one is a guided tour with audio, and one is self-exploration.I guess you cant really go wrong with either just depending on how much time you wish to spend there. The self-exploration involves a lot of infographics that you can read as well as some interactive videography.BMW is a fascinating company all around and its extremely interesting to learn the history of all the areas in the market where they have contributed innovation and design.
Lovely place to see Older models of BMW and some very unique speciments. It has everything youd imagine: engines, bikes, F1 cars, classic cars, race cars, prototypes. Its a fun and worthwhile adventure for automotive enthusiasts. If like cars and youre in Munich its a must see thing, its worth every single penny of 10€ I spent.
Great for a casual car fan. I was most interested in the WW1/WW2 era vehicles and was surprised to learn that BMW made jet engines! The museum is well organized with an almost linear path leading down to the bottom that includes a display of classic BMW cars and a dedicated exhibit to BMW’s role during the Third Reich.
Im not a big car guy but the museum and adjacent BMW World were very cool. Great architecture and layout and tons of interesting things to look at. Some of the cars you could get into! A look into the past and a glimpse of the future for automobiles.
I’m not a big fan of cars, so BMW WELT/world is enough for me. It’s free entry (vs. 10euro for BMW museum). The venue and display was set up in an very aesthetic way brought in a pleasant experience. Also u get brilliant view of the BMW “four engine” & “super bowl” building at 2nd floor exit
Good selection of cars and bikes.BMW over the road is good for getting hands on with new bikes and cars.Disappointing that there was little in the way of DTM cars. The temporary exhibition of the environment was not too interesting to us, quite random quotes.
Had this place on my wishlist for a while now and its definitely worth it. So many unique cars and you learn a lot about BMWs history as well. Tickets cost €10 which is reasonable. (€7 for students). It was a nice cafeteria inside as well but can be a bit pricey.Only complain was the queue to enter was very long outside and took about 30 mins to enter.
Cool place! It lacks some info though… I was never told they have an audio guide app and I was lost for a while and didn’t know where to start. But the exhibition is definitely amazing!
Awesome museum that mixes the history of the manufacturer and doesn’t shy away from their history during the Second World War. Seeing the evolution of their brand and models in the later half of the 20th Century was so cool. Absolute must for car fans and gear heads.
Really interesting place that wasnt as car focused as I thought it might be. It explored the companies history, thier contributions to various formula competitions, dealt with their complex war time contributions and also the future of the company. Its a really great visit and combined with the Olympic Park next door, is definitely worth the visit.
BMW Museum is a must see location, running backwards in the main history chapters of BMW with a look to the future of the brand, of the technology and sustainability as well. The visit takes ca. 4 hours and its highly recommended.
Great museum to see the impressive history as well as cars and motorcycles of BMW.Theres also a section showing BMWs plans for the future in terms of sustainability. But the cars / motorcycles are a lot more interesting.
The factory is closed due to lack of parts from China and Ukraine. Otherwise a very modern museum detailing the history of BMW. I was surprised they admitted to copying the Ford assembly line, corvette and other cars. They also have all the new cars in a separate building. As well they had the new (BMWRolls Royce but I did not see a Cooper which I thought they also made
One of the best organized museums Ive visited in recent history. Every part of it is informative, provides tons of insight on each particular topic.. There are even interactive screens where you can learn more certain engines, car models, and so on... The staff is also very pleasant and helpful towards the visitors, there is shop and bistro at the extension of the museum. Either way, very well spent time. Its a must-go destination in Munich, especially if youre a huge automobile enthusiast.
A great spot for everyone interested in cars. Professional staff and very well-organized car museum in heart of Munich City. Suitable for a shortstop when visiting Munich. Stylish and well-decorated building. This visit is suitable both for a company of adults on business travel as well as a family visit with best-interested kids. The museum isnt too big so you wont get tired, and especially your kids if you have kids. You will not find all the models there, but you will get many new models. I liked the mix of old cars and prototypes you wont ever meet on the street.
History, passion, technology and future of mobility in one place. One of the must see museums while visiting Munich. You need at least 2 hours to visit the museum, catching some live tours or explanations from the museum staff. Across the street you can visit for free the BMW showroom showcasing new models, but also having some rare exhibitions sometimes.
Dream come true for the hardcore BMW fan! Having owned over a dozen BMW cars and a handful of BMW motorbikes, this place has been on my bucket list for 15 years. Cars, bikes, race cars, and sustainability strategy. Plan on several hours.
Great collection of historical cars and bikes from past BMW. The generational motorcycle showcase is what i liked the most and ofcourse some great classics. The wall. With all the tags from all the BMW cars was amazing 😍
Huge venue. Closeby there is Park and Ride parking where you can park your car for 24 h and pay only 1.5 euro if you also have a public transport ticket. And then walk to the BMW museum and World. The ticket price is around 10 euro. But I dont rate the highest because there is no so much into or history to get known the BMW history in case you dont know it. It is place more for fans, like exhibition of some models and engins. In terms of learning by doing, no possible to sit in the car, or to have any testing machine, anything with interactions. My expectations were very different. And then I figure out that BMW world across the street is absolutely free and they have there much more models , at least, to see. We didnt have a time already to go there. But I recommend to go there straight away, and then to decide if you want to spend time and money for several historical models, with no information on it. Also there was no about the future plans or models.
The BMW Museum brings to life over 100 years of automotive fascination, innovation, dynamism and the joy of driving. In this fascinating permanent exhibition, all questions about BMW, brand and product history will be answered and the arc from the beginnings to the present to the future will be stretched. Look forward to a unique experience.
