BK Root Beer and BBQ in Muncie

My grandson and I loved this. He had a footlong hot dog. And I had a great big juicy hamburger. Shakes were amazing also. Service was excellent!

Wow. Came to Muncie for the Rees Cemetery and research, tried B &K before heading home to Fort Wayne. I got the double cheeseburger, my husband had the special burger. Both were great. Actually, I would have to say this is the best burger I have EVER had. Wish there was a B & K in our city. Great service also!

Love this place fast and friendly service. All food is made to order the wait was not long at all. Good prices and quality food.

I went there three times, got food twice. The food was what you would expect from a drive in dining; the third time was going to get the ribs but was told they wont have them all season which I understand. The problem is the servers all three times were rude and short. Wont eat there again.

The “newer” young blonde waitress was extremely rude not once but twice to the point we left and will not return. We have spend a lot of money here for what little and not even that good of food but because it’s local why not... never again. Until there is proof that the servers are trained to treat the customers fairly and dare I say with respect everyone I know will no longer pull into this place to eat. This place is definitely not what it used to be nor will it ever. We may return when there’s a new owner or new employees.

Its not like it used to be. The food is very greasy and hurts your stomach.its very expensive for how little the portions are. They have decent shakes. But I do enjoy the car shows

Place is horrible. Ordered my food waited 40 minutes then she came out and said sorry and gave me my food for free. That was ok if ya like raw hamburgers..sad they dont have a good cook anymore..wont go back..

Food was over priced. Got this thing that was supposed to be a twist on nachos supreme with tater tots instead of chips. This thing was so small, seemed to be more of an appetizer than anything. And it was 6 bucks! Oh yeah fry orders are small as hell too. Will not eat here again. Ice cream by accident is way better!

awful service. waited 20 minutes and no one even came to the car and the waitresses flirted with people. came to cars around us and ignores our car. very rude. do not recommend

Worst coney dog ever had,2.50 and half teaspoonful of sauce ,kids size fries,rootbeer three quarters full.Not to mention employee carrying AandW twelve packs in the back door.Ridiculus

Really great; haven’t had anything that wasn’t first rate. Especially enjoy the breaded tenderloin and the black cows (root beer floats. When we get to Muncie, we go about everyday if not twice. Love that joint.

Had a good time, good food and a great waitress. They also feature cars shows. I love to stop at this BK.

Tried Brisket Sandwich, it was terrible, 1 chuck of meat about 1in x 1in and 2 tiny pieces of fat, that was all that was on 2 slices of Texas toast, it didnt even cover the bread, the brisket was extremely dry and really had no flavor. I am very disappointed to say the least!!!!!!!

Classic drive-in. We go almost weekly for the Hot Dogs, burgers and BBQ, especially the pulled pork. Tried the rootbeer. Really good but a bit sweet for me but I usually have diet soda. Reasonably priced, good variety and friendly staff. Not as fancy as a Sonic but still a great experience. I prefer to place my order with a human interaction rather than pushing a button anyway. :)

When you want something a little diffeerent than the same old fastfood experience nice. if you decide to go make sure you leave yourself plenty of time, they are not super fast.

I had the daily special burger and it was the Atomic burger. It was really yummy. The perfect amount of spicy and moist. It had grilled jalapeños and onions and pepper jack cheese. So much meat and so tasty. The fries were crispy on the outside and squishy in the middle, which is how I like them! My friends got the bbq pulled pork sandwich and really liked it too.

Bring back memories of my childhood. 50 + years ago, Love the Mexi burgers and the rootbeer. Always have great service.

Well when u spend 14 dollars plus tip for 2 footlong slaw dogs light on the coney sauce with fries and a root beer you’d at least expect your hotdogs to be warm and at least to have some sauce! Sad this isn’t the first time we’ve had a bad experience but it’s my last..

It was very nice place to enjoy the weather and good root beer stand type food. The root beer floats are great! Loved the service, it was perfect service, and they clean up the area nicely. And right by a park for kids. Be safe! Have a great summer!

I went as part of a group of senior citizensin a bus. It was a rainy day. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The food was very good as well.

Ordered special today 3-17-19 , clearly posted shredded chicken sandwich and medium drink for $3.99. Added a small fry $1.59 to my order to go. Young lady told me chicken was shredded like their Pork Bbq and white meat. When brought out charged me just a little short of $7 with tax. Questioned young lady, who told me sorry special wasnt today. Told her I wished shed told me that, since she read the sign also.I tipped her and drove home which is only 4 blocks away.Chicken was all dark meat, large chunks with Bbq sauce on Texas Toast, cold and bun fell apart was so soaked. Fries, were cold and soggy like theyd been setting under a lamp for awhile. I called and received no answer.Ive never gotten food like this in the past here.Hope they get things straightened out,

I enjoy coming here for good carnival type food. Drive up, or carry home. Theyre closed for the season, probably be open again in the Spring. I just wish the food was prepared a little more consistently and the pricing of the products matched the serving size.

Went for the car show, decided to have a milkshake and a burger. Very glad I did....Delicious.....Highly reccomend for a quick great meal!

This is a great place to take the family. We had their tenderloin sandwich and found it delicious. The Marconi salad was home made.On the weekend they have a dinner special. This last weekend was baby back ribs.The home made root beer was good,served in a chilled mug.I would recommend this place.The service was terrific too.

My hot dog was cold. The saurkraut was really cold and it soaked into my bun !! Should drain the kraft longer and make sure hot food is hot

One of Muncies hidden gems, they have the best ice cream in town in my opinion. Not to mention all of the other menu items (BBQ, burgers, Coney dogs)

Be warned the slow cooked Pork BBQ may be slow cooked meat but they just put BBQ on it when served. Not very impressive.

Liked the milkshakes but the meat for our nachos and walking tacos was definitely for a sloppy joe sandwich which made them taste super weird. One staff member was really pushy and was rushing us to order, She asked for our order 5 times within seconds. Probably wont be back there for a while...

My kids and I went to the BK Root Beer Stand. We were promptly greeted by a very friendly waitress even though they were packed. She took our very large to go order with ease. Our wait was minimal and all of our food arrived just as we ordered it. It was an excellent dinner. They have many items to choose from, you can also sit at their picnic tables if you do not want to eat drive-in style in your car. I think BK is definitely our familys replacement for Burkies.

Took forever, ordered just one Coney dog at the window. No1 was there took forever. Took 5 mins to get a water. Once Coney came out, there was literally 1 tbsp of sauce and a stail bun. Go to burkees^^^

Tried the bacon double cheeseburger, brisket sandwich, grilled cheese, fries, and rootbeer. All very very good food our whole family was very pleased! And not bad prices either.

Staff is very friendly, food was awesome. I had the pulled pork with spice BBQ, yummy. For a inexpensive meal out with the kids with that home cooking taste, must try

Where I come from Business Hours Means something. So when I arrive at 7:45 pm to a business who claims 9pm closing I couldnt be more disappointed.If youre not open when your hours say you may as well close for good.

I have been eating mixing burgers for over 50 years I had my first one in Peru Indiana where two are located and now that Ive moved I now have them at the Muncie location ..Best tasting sandwiches around

I can only describe Bowmans BK as one of the best drive-ins I have been to in a very long time. I grew up running the streets in Bluffton with bummies which was an awesome A&W Root Beer Stand. It took until now for me to enjoy a Drive-In the way that I enjoy Bowmans BK. They have barbecue Spanish dogs Coney dogs homemade root beer ice cream and more. It is simply one of the best experiences you can have at a drive-in at such an amazing price

The food here is great. Always seems to be a busy place. The best pulled pork i have ever had bar none. I have been comming here since the sixties. Great rootbeer floats. Love to come here.

Quick service for the basics. I havent ordered anything where I thought took extraordinarily long time. Tenderloin is good, root beer floats are good too.

If it wasnt for the food I would give it 1star...My 63,000 truck was bumped into by what seemed to be the owner who was acting odd next to us with his BUTT in my window while talking to people in a car that pulled from behind the bulding (odd)?Hitting someones expensive vehicle and then having his butt for my view is not what I was looking for..Thanks for being rude and trashy.

This a friendly shop on the south side. Theyve got excellent food and decent service. Though it is a "drive in" or sit down, the food is all prepared fresh and often takes a few minutes.

Waitress was rude, never once smiled. I ordered the brisket plate (that doesnt come w/a side), brisket was more fat than meat. They were out of bacon. The waitress never came 2 check on us, she didnt bring straws, no silverware or napkins. And it took close to an hour 2 get our food and no drinks in the mean time. Wont be going back. Also over priced.
