BIG4 Plantation Caravan Park - in Carnarvon, Australia
Car unfortunately had to be towed back to Carnarvon on a Sunday at 3pm!!, while on the side of the road i rang in to Big4 Plantation and they were so friendly and assisted in a swift booking for the night for my family of 4 with 1 on the way!Service was perfect and everything ran smoothly, key was where it was said to be, and room was clean! Next morning the lovely lady i believe Ketut may have the name wrong came past and asked how we were and provided needed information on services/couriers available in Carnarvon that could assist in my mechanical needs.Very friendly, accommodating and a pleasure to deal with, will definitely stay again hopefully in better circumstances! AAA+++
Very friendly staff, great place to stay!
Great stay and the owners are so kind!
Loved my stay here, very friendly people, clean facilities and in a great spot 👍
Awesome leafy park with generous van sites. Well run park with great facilities. Top location on the towns edge.
Great little park. Lots of shade and lawn. Ablutions ok. Only downside is $5 fee per pet.
We stayed here for just 1 night in a cabin. It was relatively well equipped and clean. The campsite looks very run down and neglected, the sites looked extremely tight. Wouldnt stay again, it was just a quick stop for us.
Clean facilities, hot showers and amazing pressure. Laundry facilities are great and the office staff are friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this caravan park.
Very nice staff. Great location.easy access to town and beach. Nice and casual park .plenty of grass and easy parking bays. We have been to hundreds of parks around Aust. This one is one of the best because of very nice and friendly staff and clean amenities.
Loved our stay here, went from 3 nights to 6.Ablution blocks clean with no shortage of hot water and great pressure in the showers.Laundry block was clean with 5 washing machines and plenty of clothesline space.Enjoyed watching the chickens scratching around and bought some eggs they tasted so good.Staff friendly and helpful.Recommend this park will definitely be back
We love this caravan park!A relaxed atmosphere, suuuper nice hosts, big spots which are very easy to get into, lots of space.Great location and we looove the food from the plantation next door!
4 years full time on the road - rudest reception I have encountered.Definitely not Big 4 standard.
The management was great to deal with, the facilities were clean and the showers - excellent. I rocked up not booked in, it was not a problem to find a spot for me, a newbie camper driver & at the time I advised I had doubts about my ability in reverse. lol It was a pleasure to stay there, even for just 2 nights. Ill gladly stay again as its out of town & away from the noise.Their wi-fi even worked!
Pretty disappointed. We were passing through Carnarvon and needed a caravan site for 1 night. We called and were told they have something and then when we said only one night stay, they told us we could only get a spot for 2 night minimum. There was nothing else available in town. So much for paying for membership.
Couldnt recommend this wonderful place higher. As we have been travelling around Australia staying in many caravan parks this would be one of the best.Large grass sites .. plenty of room .. newly renovated amenities.Great camp kitchen .. as I wash the dishes .. great way to meet other campers.Very helpful staffWill be staying again when we returnKeep up the great workIan and EllenThe Wandering Westons
Fantastic experience at big4 plantation. Ketut and Wes could not be more accomodating and made our stay most enjoyable. Thanks guys.
Thank you Ketut for being so helpful. The park was well set out and well cared for. You went out of your way to accommodate us and the cabin 125 was immaculate, so too was the laundry etc., keep up the good work guys. I have recommended you several times already. Thank you again 👌👌👌
Hot showers were good..very unclean amenities. Was there for 3 days, cleaned once.
Very clean. Very friendly staff. A little on the older side but park is well kept and a good location
Stayed he for a week great classic style park clean and tidy just out of town loved the chickens that come to visit from the plantation that is around the park the owners ketut and weis are doing a good job after taking over the park would stay here again and would recommend it 😀
Great stopover at this family business Plantation Caravan Park in Carnarvon. The owner Ketut was absolutely brilliant from the moment I enquired for availability right down to presenting me with some fruits & veges from the family plantation as I departed.I called at 5pm to say I was going to be a few hours later than expected and she made sure my room key was sorted without any fuss. The room I stayed in was spotlessly clean and cosy. The entire facility was amazingly clean, quiet and comfortable. Glad I had enough time for a coffee and chat with Ketut on the deck before I had to move on. She is clearly a smart, compassionate business owner and family matriarch. Happy Mothers Day Ketut - you deserve to be spoiled and I hope you can stop work long enough to enjoy the day. Will definitely stay with you another time.
We drove through this park and was in disbelief that it could use the Big 4 name. It is beyond run down!!! The pictures listed on here do not represent the true Indication of the place. It doesn’t feel safe
Came and stayed with a group of friends and had a ball.Tested our van out and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Plantation Caravan Park. Us a great stop over on your way north or south.
Great cabin with ensuite that was very clean and organised. Extremely friendly and hospitable hosts, they went above and beyond. Provided plenty of suggestions for local experiences that did not disappoint. Highly recommend staying here
This place is a great place to stay... we have stayed here several times, for long stays and short ones, staff are incredible and facilities are excellent, i would certainly recommend this place to stay when travelling north and south 😀
The whole caravan park is in dire need of updating. There is a LONG dusty walk to the ablution block from some bays & comes from the 1960s era. Some of the bays power poles are broken & open to the weather.Nearby caravan park is exceptional and only costs a few dollars extra per night.BIG4, please lift your game.
Very nice people. We had a powered campsite and it was perfectly adequate. Study sand, no rocks. Toilet and shower facilities were nice, and a pool too.
Spent four nights here in a lovely shaded powered pitch overlooking the mango orchard. Shower block has been recently refurbished and is spotlessly clean. Ketut, the owner, is a ray of light and very understanding of the needs of campers. Overall, the park has grassy patches, hard standings and red dirt; not a complaint, just an observation. It is in a hot climate, after all. 37°c during September. The mark of satisfaction is to ask "would you come back?". From us, its a resounding YES, YES, YES
Nice quiet park. Amenities around the area need some attention. Supplies in the loos were always out. Very annoying. Prob wouldnt recommend if you have kids. Obviously dont own a lawn mower sites all have long grass on them
Great Park, with great facilities and spotless refurbished amenities. Large sites with ample shade. Close to local attractions, only a short drive. New owners are doing a wonderful job. Keep up the good work Katut and Wes.👌
Excellent place to stay while in Carnarvon. Big sites for our 25 foot van, great friendly, helpful staff. Owners keen to provide a good service. We will make this our new stop over point for our North South regular runs. Awesome
Its a good spot to stop over. Clean facility and green grass. $42 per night for power site. We have a big van and they arranged a site that was easy to get into. All good Jim
Reasonably sized caravan park in Carnarvon near the main intersection and closest to the Carnarvon Space and Technology Museum. Very good facilities.Time and Cost: No apparent time limit, $34 per person per night unpowered.Access: Sealed access off highway into Carnarvon.Facilities: Flat grass base marked sites (some with concrete base), with some shade. Facilities include very clean flushing toilets, showers, bins, dump point, laundry, swimming pool and potable water. Excellent Telstra and Optus reception but no TV.Ambiance: Quiet shaded setting. Not busy during my visit.Perfect for an overnight stopover while buying groceries and re-fuelling. Carnarvon doesnt have many attractions but the Space Museum is worth a visit.
Cheapest for Carnarvon, however unkempt unpowered sites. Next to dump point and around park turning circle at the back made us feel forgotten. Long grass made pitching a tent difficult.Would be fine for vans/powered set ups.
We stayed in a Cabin end of April 2021 and was appalled of the state of the cabin. The towels were falling apart and well and truely due to be replaced. There were grasshoppers everywhere in the cabin and the bathroom needs some serious tlc. The host saw I had kids and told me they had to wear nappies as she doesn’t want pop or pee on the beds. My kids are primary school aged and definitely won’t need nappies but she was so abrupt about it. While unpacking the car we were told to keep the door closed because the aircon was on. Don’t know how you meant to get your stuff inside if you can’t open the door to walk inside. It was a horrible experience that I paid $190 for a night. So thankful it was only one night. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it as nothing is maintained. Worst experience in my life.
Absolutely arwsome.I was late, after hours, but rang the number on the office door.A friendly lady answered, saying just pick a spot and see her in the office the next morning.Good old fashioned service still exist. The park new renovated toilet and shower facilities 100%👍👍👍👌👌👌☺️☺️
Just what a caravan park should be. Clean, friendly and plenty of space. Beautiful trees and plantation setting is second to none. The local chooks are a bonus and very friendly. Thank you for sharing paradise. Kind Regards,John and Olya
Lovely clean caravan park with the most beautiful host Ketut. I had mechanical issues with my RV and Ketut went out of her way to provide me with alternative accommodation whilst repairs were being done to my RV and then even drove me to pick it up when it was ready. She is the friendliest and kindest person and does a great job of running her park. I really enjoyed my time there and the facilities were terrific too.
This is a great place to stay. The staff are so helpful and any issues are sorted quickly. Owners have recently taken over so some repairs are happening to get it up to scratch but that should not put you off. Took a bay with ensuite, was very clean and well maintained. On a hot day the pool is great relaxing in the cold water. They also have a dedicated fish cleaning station as well as BBQ available, we came up for fishing and relaxing. Highly recommended this place.
Park has been left to run down but new managers are working hard to bring it up to standard. Lovely managers who cant do enough to help. Facilities are very clean, though older.Good luck with everything Ketut and Wes. We will be back!!
The caravan park is small and welcoming, with good lawns&plenty of shade. We like being on the edge of town where it is quieter. Fantastic camp kitchen! Very well - maintained in all respects with friendly staff who do their best to please. Great work, Ketut&Wes!
So glad we found this park. We had a short but very relaxing stay. The sites were a good size, camp kitchen had everything we needed and the Owners/management were outstanding so very friendly and helpful..We will be back again without a doubt..
Ok I was amazed at this place. Wife booked it, very cheap for a little self contained room. Room was clean, plenty of space for us. Caravan park had a good playground for the kids, and is surrounded by plantations. But the best bit? The manager was fantastic. He took us through the gate to the plantation, showed us the banana trees, mangoes, avocados and chocolate custard fruit trees. Told us about the area. Guy was great, park was fun, awesome stop on the way up or back to Exmouth or Coral Bay.
While the park is run down it did provide shade and the toilets and showers while not fancy were clean and tidy. Good for an overnight stop or for anyone wanting somewhere small and quiet to stay. Close to town, fuel stations and the OTC
Spent 4 nights on powered site, a bit of a squeeze to get in and out,I think the park was probably laid out when cars and caravans were smaller. The infrastructure in general was pretty old and dated but having said that, everything worked as it should. The showers were hot and the ablution blocks very clean. The staff were amazingly friendly and willing to help in any way. The free sausage sizzle on Friday was a bonus. Would go back anytime.
For the money, a few things could be better. Sites are very tight with narrow access roads. There had been wet weather but even so things were untidy and the ablutions quite dirty. The floors really didnt appear to be cleaned during our two day stay. As a positive, the many trees would provide good shade in warm weather. Below average for a Big 4.
The staff are amazing and super friendly. Good facilities, showers toilets.. All working. Amazing stay. Quiet, easy, no stress.Kitchen has a large TV, gas cook top, microwave, kettle. We will definitely be back for sure.Thank you
Very conveniently located - just off highway and <8 min drive to town. Fantastic staff - wonderful service from booking thru stay. We spent only a night in an ensuite cabin - it was comfy but in need of upgrades (flooring was loose, etc). A perk: had a nice selection of fresh veggies from the plantation - very reasonably priced.
Amazing stay. Quiet, easy, no stress. Under new management. The owners are taking care of the place, also really nice people. Good facilities, showers toilets.. All working.Kitchen has a large TV, gas cook top, microwave, kettle. Some pots and pans are available. Good size fridge.Plenty shade. Will be back for sure. Thank you guys :)
Me and my partner worked here for 4 months and it was a fantastic experience. All of the permanent residents onsite were really kind and friendly. The camping facilities were great and we loved the easy going atmosphere. We met so many interesting people here and learned many new skills. We are sad to be moving on, but looking forward to our next adventures. Definitely worth the stop!
