B-Town Kitchen And Raw Bar - Fine dining restaurant in Bellingham, United States
Great place to hangout with the family amazing food and service
Good promoted cocktail menu, plus the bartenders all have an expansive knowledge of cocktails in general. The food menu has small plates and large plates. The soy ginger wings, crab cakes, and very quality gyoza are some of my favorite appies. The scallops with risotto meal is also very good. Oh and those brussel sprouts -- they definitely arent your mothers -- they are a gotta try for ANYONE. Actually Ive tried most thing on the menu and all are quite good. The outside seating area with ceiling mounted heaters and fire pit table make you forget youre out side the parking lot of the former Best Western (this is a good thing). Inside is nice, but has a little bit of an office-like feel -- I miss the intimacy of the formers Poppys that former sat in this same place. Recommendations: try the Gummy Bear and Washington Raspberry martinis -- no disappointments there! Be sure to say "hi" to manager Sam, shes and asset and understands customer service.
Love the staff! I wish they would change up the menu though. It used to change seasonally but it’s been the same menu for a couple years now. When you’re there every week the same few menu items gets old!
Excellent service, great food (oysters raw and cooked with garlic and lemon; roasted Brussels sprouts, and raw tuna rolls), and tasty cocktails by roaring outdoor fire pits.A quick summer update...sadly sitting on the outside patio, I kept getting occasional whiffs of garbage. Sure enough, the bins are stacked nearby on the west side of the building. 😳
Food was over priced and the portions were very small. Please dont try the calamari or youll be sorry. I used to be a Chef in this kitchen 25 years ago and I was really taken back by the lack of inspiration put into developing the menus. Thankfully there is a Fred Meyers next to it were you could get better food at their deli . 🧐
Delicious food, we got served by Ravneet and I have to say that shes the best❤️❤️
Great food, great service.
Pricy and food was disappointing. Calamari was like a hard to chew cheese stick. Service was great.
Good service, good food and atmosphere. Outdoor sitting is fabulous.
Great food, especially the pit stickers. Friendly staff.
Good drinks, crab cakes smelled a little passed date. Brussel sprouts were delicious!
The bar staff is wonderful and the appetizers are really good!
Its a great spot for a birthday party. Minors are allowed. My niece hosted, so I dont know about cost. Its outdoors with privacy fencing, seating, a firepit, plus ceiling heaters, and you can add your decorations and personal touches.
kinda bummed out over the quality and flavor of the meal I received via Viking food yesterday. We got the chicken wings and the texture was pretty bad, gummy and no flavor at all. We also got the yakisoba with added prawns and that was super underwhelming as well.
Lovely restaurant and wonderful service! My boyfriend took me here for dinner Friday night (April 1stand everyone was incredibly nice and the food was delicious!
Hands down best staff and great food. You absolutely cannot go wrong. To the B-Town staff: you are second to none and do an INCREDIBLE job!!! Thank you for always making it a great experience!
Ordered their crab cakes, they were good. But it was their fish & chips that were the star of the meal.
Appetizers were pretty amazing. Especially the calamari and the brussel sprouts. Waitress did an amazing job. Would have given a five but steak was not cooked as ordered. Also did not need to "show my papers"... so that was a plus.
Had a few pints at the bar, friendly bartender and a nice crowd at the bar.Had the cslamari and burger. They both were what I was looking for. When in Bellingham, Ill be back.
Great service, exceptionally great food. It is a little pricey. Conveniently located inside four points hotel in Bellingham Washington
Breena is such an amazing server. She made me feel like I was the only customer there. Her knowledge of the menu and beers was brilliant and shows that she really cares about the customer experience. Thank you so much Breena and I’ll be in again for those oysters!!!
The food here is delicious! Whether we are just splitting appetizers or decide to get a full meal, we are never disappointed. The drinks are great too. The pet friendly outside patio with fire pits are warm and inviting! Friendly staff!
Loved the fire pits. It was cold outside, but the fire kept us very warm. Wouldn’t recommend the fire pit seating for a big meal as there is not much space, but it’s very cozy for an appie and a drink.Beef sliders were good. Juicy meat and lots of flavour in the sauce.
3 stars only because the food was very good. Service was abysmal. Sign says theyre short staffed, which is understandable and we took it into account when visiting. But we entered as the only 2 in the restaurant and service started fine. But 2 groups entered after us and we sat waiting for our check for 36 minutes. The server kept her back to us as she prioritized the 2 other tables and basically avoided us at all costs. Just because a party of 5 is there, shouldnt mean we have to wait so long just to leave. Will probably not return, which is a shame because the food was phenomenal.
We ate here as we were staying in the hotel and couldnt get in at the Oyster Bar on State St. I ordered the Garlic Shrimp and Parmesan Truffle Fried and oh my word it was beautifully presented and deliciously delectable! The Pinot Grigio was divine and perfectly matched my appi dinner. Two in our group ordered the Halibut Rissoto and omg the fish melted in our mouths! The Server we had was most conscientious of our time as we had a show we were going to at The Underground which was set to 7 P.M. Sharp! The ambience of the restaurant is quite pleasing, relaxed fine dining. I came home and told my husband we have a new option for dining out.
Favorite restaurant in town. Obviously Covid had an impact and the menu took a hit - however, best oysters in town in my opinion. Wonderful atmosphere and even a low key great spot to watch Thursday or Monday night football. Always my go-to.
They had a large selection to choose from. I had the Alaskan cod and chips which was delicious. The esthetic was very soothing as well. I would definitely reccomend going especially if you are staying at the Sheraton hotel right next door.
The cod was fantastic, the cheesecake was perfect, and the service was really good. All around great restaurant with a nice ambiance.
Normally love food here but the lamb burger flavor reminded us of taco meat, the flavor was overwhelming and ruined the other flavors, didn’t even taste like lamb, presentation was beautiful, just wished the taste would have matched
Very disappointed. Very friendly interaction with staff but the food is extremely overpriced. The Szechuan prawn dish was $24 and tiny.. I asked to have them make it extra spicy and still was very mild. The flavor was okay but no way near worth $24.. and although the staff was friendly and sweet, it took over 10mins to take my order and just about the same to process my check. Understandable on a busy night but it was very far from busy. And I was in a rush and had to flag them down both times...
The staff makes customized drinks happily! And does an amazing job! The food is ON POINT.I cant recommend the Parmesan truffle fries enough!!! They split plates and the presentation is wonderful! A must stop!!! 😎
We found this place from a quick Google search and we loved it so much we tried it twice... The first time was great service and food, good times. The second time not so much, Food was great server was great when we got one. But we had to wait to get seated and it wasnt busy no one said anything.Than we get to the table and probably waited another 5to10 minutes before we get water or a menu. So, Im not sure if its just everyone getting back into the swing of things after being slow and closed or they didnt care for us🤔.Needless to say well be back to try this again, people have off days and the food IS AMAZING!!
Food was tasty, drinks were alright and over priced for the quality of drink. They provided a safe environment and friendly service. It was busy for a Friday night and should probably make reservations if you want a warm spot!
Not only is the food delicious but the ambiance and vibe of this restaurant is amazing! They have clean, warm fire pits, heaters and patio chairs set up for outdoor eating with large tvs that usually have sports playing. The servers have always been great and are very helpful when youre torn between two meal options. My favorite items on the menu are the garlic shrimp (SO SO GOOD), the garlic parmesan truffle fries and the vegetable yakisoba with prawns. My husband loves the B-town burger - e gets it every time! I hope this review helped you decide whether or not you want to eat here ... i would highly recommend!P.S. make reservations; this gem is no secret so youll want to get in there before others do.
Great place to sit outdoors and enjoy good food, warm heaters, fire pits, and big tvs for the games. They have a very good happy hour from 3-6pm every day.
POC, you might want to choose a different restaurant. When I called the person who answered the phone was so lovely that I decided to go to this restaurant based on her kindness. She stated that she could not accept any more reservations but always saves a few tables for walk-ins. I called again when I was 20 minutes away and was told there was availability at that time. When I arrived, I was told there was someone in front of me (a single white manand someone else who had called (I told her it was me). Then, I was told I’d have to wait for 20-30 minutes. We are a family of five with three children. She then sat the single white man in an area for eight or more even though he told her it would be just him dining. After 45 minutes, a few staff walked by and reported that a table was 5 minutes late for their reservation. When the hostess called the number, a phone in the dining area rang, and she went in to talk with them after they reported they were already seated in the dining area. Seventy (70minutes later, they decided to place us at a two-top in the farthest back corner of the restaurant and my three children at the waitstaff serving bar (next to itwith a table cloth on top of it. After about 15 minutes, the rain began to come in on my children, and we were allowed to switch to a table that had just left. I can’t say this was due to us not being white, but we were the only white people in there; the white man sat for two hours drinking a beer at the area meant for eight while we received the experience described above. We won’t return. I feel very sad and wonder when people of color will stop having these types of incidents.
Dandy little hotel restaurant and bar. Great selection of food, and the waitstaff friendly. For appetizers, the Almond Dusted Calamari are first rate, and the portions generous. The Bulgogi Beef sliders and Ginger Chicken Pot Stickers were also quite good. The salads were crisp and fresh. I found the Alaska Cod fish and chips to be good, but not great.Nice selection of local brews. The mixed drinks are fun in that you not only get the cocktail, but the shaker as well. The covered patio is large and with 3 fire pits. The only drawback is the traffic noise from the freeway. Noticeable, and not overly intrusive.
The atmosphere is great with the outdoor firepits and patio area. The service is always stellar and friendly and their food is top notch! Everytime I eat or drink here, whether it is a couple great cocktails with appetizers, or a full 3 course meal, I feel like the staff really cares about what theyre doing. Would definitely recommend checking it out!
I wouldnt go back. They had an okay happy hour. Beer price was pretty good. The appetizers were just okay. They didnt taste bad, but they were boring to the extent that we didnt want to finish. The atmosphere is dull. There were several tables on the patio and they had baseball on the TV. Our server was attentive.
I’ve eaten at b town 6-10 times now and every time it’s been a great experience. The staff is friendly, food is great and they have some creative cocktails. I did not expect to find delicious gourmet food at the Sheraton hotel on Lakeway but boy was I wrong. It’s always super clean and they have a big covered outdoor seating area with heaters and fire pits. Their happy hour goes until 6 PM and they have lots of appetizers. Very good place for a date night.
Took a break from cooking on Christmas. We were delighted. The food was delicious and served beautifully. The cocktails were done perfectly. AND Ashley, our server was absolutely perfect. She was friendly and so efficient and made us feel so welcome.
Amazing happy hour, loved the oysters, will definitely be going back whenever I’m in Bellingham
Great atmosphere and high quality food.
I thought this place looked kind of douchey from the outside, with a roped-off parking area outside the front door. So I had to try it. I loved it! Great selection of oysters, poke, shrimp cocktail, Chinese dumplings, etc. Big list of local draft beer. And an all-day Sunday happy hour. Friendly service to boot.
Im also a little torn with my review. If it was based on the food only, Id give 4.5. Nice ambiance with comfortable seating. Friendly staff. On the service, however... We ordered drinks, an appetizer and two entrees. Our entrees came out before our long wait for two virgin margaritas. When the entrees arrived I asked about our calamari appetizer. The server said, Ill be right back.... We were nearly done with our entrees when the calamari arrived. She forgot to place the order. I didnt sweat the small stuff, but, the experience couldve been a 5-star. Well try it again.
Great food and warm atmosphere. Fire pits and heat lamps outside on the deck. Try the maple sugar old fashioned.
Im a little torn about writing this review. Honestly, the food tastes amazing. The service is good, though the food comes out a little slow. The ambiance is great and I like both the indoor seating and the outdoor area. They do weekly events like trivia. The downside is how the food makes me feel -- sick to my stomach, bloated, and overall just.... gross. My husband felt this, too. We were staying at the adjacent hotel recently so we ate at Btown a few nights in a row, and it was the same feeling every time.As tasty as the food is in the moment, I think there may be something in the way they prepare the food that left us feeling awful in the days that followed. I wouldnt recommend this place or go back.Disclaimer: to be fair, it could be that they had a bad batch of produce that made us feel this way. We dont know. We just know how we were feeling, and it was consistently not good :(
Went for drinks. Service was slow, onlyb1 bartender to cater for the Saturday night crowd. Slowed things down quite a bit. However, the drinks were well madeThe best thing about this place?? The ambience. The music was on point the fire coming from the stones to keep warm gave a different feeling to the place .Will definitely come back
Sat on the bar tables, place was pretty busy and it said seat yourself.A lot of beer selections but the bar attender doesn’t know what those beers taste like so it’s a bummer.Dim sums were ok.
Not my favorite. The seafood (mostly the shrimpwas not the flavorful experience I had hoped for. I understand the"raw bar" concept, but I was hoping to have a LITTLE flavor to wake up the sleepy food I ordered. The meat itself was great, but pretty much everything had something missing. My Caesar was really cool looking with all the stuff piled on top, but when I got to drinking, it was pretty flavorless as well. On a positive note, the service was fantastic 😀If you have made it out of the rest home for dinner, this is your place. If you still have functional taste buds, you may want to check elsewhere.
