Azur - Asian fusion restaurant in Dubrovnik, Croatia
Some of the best food we had in Dubrovnik. The Asian fusion really worked and taste was incredible in all our dishes. I would recommend the tacos starters and the sea food laska. Staff were also really friendly but book to make sure not to be disappointed.
If you are tired of the typical Dubrovnik menu that appears in most restaurants in the old town, then try this med-asian fusion. Its tucked away in a small street away from crowds and the tourist sites, but the share style food is a cut above what other restaurants offer. We had the sliders, cauliflower popcorn, spicy tacos and a spicy prawn kind of stir fry. All well done modern dishes and with pleasant service.
Amazing! Delicious! Perfectly balanced meals of pork belly tacos, and then crispy skinned salmon. Were already planning our next visit!
3.5/5 - We ate here the other day for an early dinner. The food quality and service was good but the portion sizes are quite small and expensive so if you’re pretty hungry expect a fairly big bill. The garlic prawns and crispy salmon were lovely. I had the chicken donburi which was okay, the rice it came on was cold which I found strange. Restaurant inside is very dimly lit and the place is small so expect a potential wait if you don’t book. Would recommend for a quick bite to eat around Old Town.
Laksa soup & salmon were eaten within 3 seconds. SO GOOD. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Delicious, Great service 🙌🏽✅Perfect way to escape the crowds in Dubrovnik! Amazing CroAsian flavor!!!! Please make yourself a favor and order to homemade ice tea & the Amaranth balls 🙏 so good!
Food tastes really nice, but there is so less option to choose so, be aware about that. Also it is a bit more expansive than other places. You cannot see anything at all, so dont think about any photos.reservation needs to be done.
Some of the best in Dubrovnik and very affordable. Meal plus bottle of wine for two around 70 Euros. Got the fish in black sauce. Different and very taste. Would come back if returning to town
This town has needed a restaurant like this for a long time. Wasn’t sure what the expect from Mediterranean/Asian fusion but it absolutely did not disappoint. They were very accommodating with our group of 6 people. Had the tacos, sliders and crunchy cauliflower (was so good, wish we had ordered two portions!). Had donburi chicken on rice as a main and it was also amazing. Hard working folks with delicious food. Highly recommend.
Staff were lovely and told us about food & menu. Drinks were nice too. Venue was really good. However food was average for the price. Nothing particularly wrong but the size of portion & quality we would’ve expected to spend half of what we paid. This isn’t authentic Asian fusion food. The Donburi isn’t real donburi.. and the burrata on a rice cake is just not a good combination. Disappointing!!!
Hi,i just want to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU!My friend was in June and recommend this restaurant. When we came we didnt expceted so tastefull food. The waitress gave us the best recommened for food. I took prawns, like you can see my plate, its almost done.and my husbund took. Unfortunately, I dont have a pic of his food, because he ate so quickly, which means thats delicious. The waitress is super kind and nice!🤩🤩
Wow. What a delightful surprise in Dubrovnik. Food was different with the Asian fusion. Service was excellent also.
Our meal here was amazing! I had the Szechuan prawns to start followed by arancini in coconut cream sauce with rice, and a chocolate tart for dessert. The flavours was amazing and fusion of Mediterranean and Asian flavours really interesting. Service was great and it was reasonably priced - 100% recommend if youre looking for something a bit different to the rest!
Hidden little gem which is full of flavour! Ended up having three dinners at this restaurant during our week long stay. The staff are lovely and professional. Make sure to book in advance!
Beautiful restaurant, fantastic service. The chilli and garlic szechuan prawns are the best weve tasted and the chicken tacos were also delicious! Think we were lucky coming as soon as it opened to get a table as most of them were reserved. Highly recommended!
Very nice restaurant, in a quiet place. The food is pretty unique and very tasty!Kind service and friendly waiters (Shout-out to Carlos!)It is very popular so a reservation is probably needed.
Loved this little outdoor restaurant sprawled along the sides of the winding Old Town streets. There was not a single ocean breeze to be found, however, so plan an outfit accordingly. And while there may not have been much air flow, there were mosquitoes a plenty. Bring bug spray! All the drinks were amazing. Food was good, but this is fusion, dont expect the same level of Asian spiciness you might fight at your neighborhood Thai joint, the flavors were very subtle and creamy. The pork belly tacos are a must.(Also can I just say how much I vibed with this cat after he took a herculean leap off the side of the wall and landed directly onto the table in front of us, didnt knock a single glass off, then dropped to the ground and stalked away without so much as a by your leave. What incredible panache.)
After three weeks on the road, I was craving a little Asian food and was pleased with this CroAsian fusion. The Szechuan shrimp were spicy, garlicky and delicious. I liked the cauliflower. The Laksa was a teeny bland but not bad. I really enjoyed the location— away from the crowds. Very nice service. We shared three dishes and it was plenty of food. Still drinking the cocktail of the summer— the Hugo!
Great food, lovely service. We ordered the chicken and chorizo tacos, cauliflower, Croatian laksa, and spicy salmon donburi and all were absolutely killer.
Delicious!!! Ordered the chicken sliders and the pork belly cha-shiu donburi. The pork belly was very well seasoned which I would know being Japanese and eating many cha-shius (I think I hinted some star-anis? Complexity of flavor was wonderful), and great combination with the kimchi flavored purple cabbage. Sushi rice underneath could be better (but again being Japanese maybe my standards for rice are too high). Chicken sliders were delish, also the kimchi and mayo with chicken was greatly paired and I wanted to eat ten of them!
Had the most AMAZING meal here. The food made me happy beyond happy. Elmir was our server and he was fantastic. If you are in Dubrovnik you must come here.PS - I’m from San Francisco and have traveled and world and have eaten at some incredible restaurants. Trust me when I say this place is not a place to miss.
Good but not a wow. I ordered the espresso martini which was good. I also had the szechuan shrimp and thai curry, both of which were above average.
Not worth stopping by. Food was basically just trown at the table. Cold, all at the same time.Service is horrible, for each thing we had to ask twice… a year ago this was fantastic but tonight they saw me the last time.
My fiancé found this place on Google maps while we were still researching places to go on holiday/things to do in Dubrovnik and so this is the one thing wed planned to do before we even booked flights! You do have to book in advance, theres 0 walk-ins but we just wandered up on our first night to book for the following evening. All the plates going out looked so amazing it was so hard to pick! But we ended up with panko chicken donburi, pork belly donburi and mini sliders. Absolutely amazing food, somehow felt light and fresh despite us eating a lot of meat and rice! Staff were incredibly attentive without hovering over you while you eat and since its towards the edge of the walls the streets were incredibly quiet. Highly recommend!
The 3 dishes (monkfish, meatball, laksawe ordered were just ok. Nothing special about them. Drinks were really good .
Amazing culinary experience. Probably the best meal I had in the many restaurants I have visited in Dubrovnik. The taco and sliders starters were wonderful, and the meatballs in a coconut curry were tremendous! I would thoroughly recommend Azur to anyone visiting Dubrovnik
The food is relatively good. On the ingredients side very cheap sold for hight prices. The seasoning is well done.
Go here. Was a great mix of cultures that just worked. Had the prawns, tacos, laksa, ice tea. The prawns and the tacos were my favourite. Really great flavours, really fresh ingredients. I usually dont mention this but the wait staff were great. Not sure of its the laid back culture or what but the timing between everything was perfect and didnt feel like we were being churned out at all.
An Old Town GemAn Asian-Mediterranean fusion delite, with a flare for spicy. We were very happy with the starters, mains, wine and desserts we ordered: chicken taco, grilled shrimp, salmon, meatballs, choc tort and cheesecake. The red wine was a cab.
Amazing restaurant - absolutely delicious food and the best red wine Ive tasted. Our waiter was also really friendly and professional, and even taught me a couple of Croatian words. The front door was a little tricky to find, or maybe we went the wrong way, but highly recommend this place
The prawns had no flavor and it was very plain and the rice wasn’t properly cooked. We ordered seafood laksa as well but it wasn’t warm and didn’t look very fresh. Honestly the food here isn’t the best. I assume it is popular because this is one of the few Asian restaurants in the old town. But it really isn’t anything special, you might prefer the “tourist trap” looking restaurants near the Main Street area.
Definitely one of the best restaurants in town. A mix of Thailand and Croatian cuisine, super recommended and super great service. Thanks!!’
Had a lovely dinner at Azur! The prawns, chicken and chorizo tacos and the pork belly donburi were to die for.Prices are reasonable for an old town restaurant, especially for the cocktails (had a delicious pink lemonade & gin). Service was fast as well!
Amazing food! One of the best places we ate in town, cool spot away from the hustle and bustle. I would suggest making a reservation online as tables are fully booked most nights.
Great service, lovely food- a nice change from the usual things in the old town area. Donburi was yummy and filling. Curry and meatballs also delicious!Just wish it was a biiiiiiiit cheaper, but this is an issue with Old Town overall I think.
I had the salmon with rice dish and it was delicious! I dont often eat the skin but it was crispy and nicely done. I ate the whole plate and the service was exceptional. The young gentleman who served my friend and I was very funny and kind.
Very tasty foodCould have been a little hotterMonkfish was lovely
Place to be with Asian, European and Mediteranian food unique combo.Carefully picked wines.Must visit.Make sure to make reservation in advance!
We had the Meatballs and the chicken curry which were both outstanding. The location is brilliant for intimate dining in the Old City - a smallstreet all in stone tucked away from the crowds.Quite popular so make sure to reserve ahead.
A truly lovely spot just the right distance from busier streets. Azur’s a must for a quick lunch, takeaway, or a more formal dinner in the cooler nighttime air. The chicken “sliders” deserve your full attention as do the variety of pasta dishes. Friendly waiters make Azur a pleasure at all hours.
We were excited to find an Asian fusion place in Dubrovnik for some variety in cuisine. We live in Asia and enjoy a kick of heat and spice, so we were looking forward to trying the Sichuan shrimp. We heard the next table over say the Sichuan shrimp was not spicy enough, so when we ordered, I specifically asked to make it extra spicy. On arrival, there were very few Sichuan peppercorns and barely a tingle of spice. We also ordered the meatballs and crunchy amaranth, however the dull curry sauce served with both of them are exactly the same. The laksa curry broth also had a similar flavor profile. I feel like the waiter should have pointed out these similarities as this left for little variety in taste in the meal. 2 stars as I appreciate a different offering in cuisine, however the execution of the food is quite underwhelming.
Azur was a surprising find in old city. Thought it was gimmicky to have an Asian fusion place. Wow, were we surprised. From very cool cocktails to food that was Asian influenced but different at the same time. All in good ways. Totally recommend. 3 dishes and two cocktails 649kn.
One of the best restaurants in dubrovnik and the most original one by far. Furthermore the staff was very attentive. Everything was delicious but you cannot leave this restaurant without trying the handmade meatballs. They are something unique.
Fantastic food and even more wonderful service. Located at the heart of town, and tables were nicely tucked in between two streets (very cosy and avoided the sun).Ordered the prawns in garlic and Szechuan peppers as an entree - it was very fresh and well cooked!I was really looking forward to trying their Croasian laksa but was informed that they are no longer serving this dish - what a pity! Tried the curry meatballs and chicken breast donburi instead, and it was very delicious!Food was served quickly and portions were just right. It was one of my favourite restaurants in Dubrovnik and i would love to visit Azur again.
Review update:I came a second time and order the chicken and zucchini again. This time the food sucks. The quality of the chicken is pretty bad. The meat tastes like it just came out of the freezer. The curry also tastes like water. I am not sure if they changed chef, or the chef just screwed up, but they certainly lack the consistency for the quality of the food.‐---------------------------------------------------------------This restaurant serves excellent flavored asian fusion cuisine, with a limited menu. I tried the Szechuan chili and garlic prawns, it is very authentic and delicious, although the portion is quite small. I also ordered chicken, zucchini and mushroom curry, a traditional Thai cuisine, it is cooked to perfection. If you like Asian cuisine, this place is a rare gem.
Tasty food and kind service! We got the Chili & Garlic Prawns (done to perfection), K-Pop Chicken Sliders (crispy and flavorful), Meatballs in Coconut Curry Sauce (comforting), and Pork Belly Donburi (purple cabbage kimchi paired nicely with the hearty pieces of pork belly). The rice in both main dishes was too soft but I wont hold it against them because all the flavors balanced so well and it was all delicious. Make a reservation/call ahead because I am sure theyll get busy this summer!
The food was great. Found via Foursquare as it was rated well there. The K-pop chicken sliders were awesome. The pork belly (tacos & donburiwas just perfect. The spiked strawberry lemonade was to die for.
This place is absolutely amazing, and yes they’re open right now! The service was amazing, the food was delicious and we had an excellent experience, the chef even came to talk to us personally! I would definitely recommend to go there before the place gets busy again with reservations needed!
An absolute must-go when you are in Dubrovnik. Top-of-the-line service and hospitality, our waiter took great care of us and provided excellent recommendations. The dishes are Asian fusion or Cro-Asian! We shared the chorizo and chicken tacos, the cauliflower popcorn bites, and the shrimp appetizer, all of which were delicious and appropriately portioned. For our mains, we had the chicken curry, which was super flavorful and spicy, as well as the pork belly donburri, with mouth-watering slices of pork. The chef Vedran came out to speak with us about the dishes and really spent time talking to us about the ingredients and flavors. We were super lucky to dine here tonight without any reservation, as I understand in the full season reservations are a must. We will certainly be back, for lunch or another dinner. Highly recommend!
One of the best restaurants we tried in Dubrovnik! The Mediterranean dishes with Asian twist were delightful, some familiar taste from home! :Dishes portion size is small & exquisite. But since we had the appetisers & their complimentary bread, adding on the mains were enough for us. Prices are high but just like other restaurants inside Old Town. We recommend Azur for a refreshing change from typical Croatian dishes!
