Low-lit Moroccan, Algerian & Tunisian restaurant with traditional artefacts and colourful drapes.
Very good tasty north african food very friendly staff
A little North African jem, with food style spanning from Tunisia to Morocco, authentic and hearty. Generous portions, flavourful, a real soul food experience to pair with a small selection of North African wines.
Amazing food, lovely ambiance and great service!
Absolutely delicious dishes, fantastic presentation and very friendly staff.Small but cosy restaurant with good locationWould definitely recommend 👌
Fantastic service and the food is amazing.We. Spent this much just bc we ordered a lot, but you can go there and spend £20_30 pp and be full. Everything was delicious, especially the starters. Def recommended
A birthday dinner for 4 of us. It was absolutely wonderful. The service was excellent the chef came out and chatted to us and the hospitality was second to none. We felt really welcome. The food was so delicious. We were recommended to have rice with some dishes , bread with others and it was just right. The decor is very North African, really beautiful and all very comfortable. We had a great evening!
Food and tea reminds me of home 🥹
A fantastic dining experience. The food was impeccable- absolutely delicious. The service was very fast and extremely friendly. We will be back!
Beautiful little restaurant, staff are very nice and friendly food is fabulous, and the owner is really nice and friendly .
Lovely, cosy place. Good food. Fish dish really good.
The best North African in the UK restaurant I’ve tried so far, tastes as good as homemade, plus lots of flavours and good wine ❤️
This place is very authentic and welcoming. The starters stole the show. The main course was good as well. If you are not someone who enjoys eating spicy I would be careful. Also the portions were too big for my liking. Other than that this is a great place.
One of the bad experience in my life, it’s not Moroccan food. And stuff are rude. Differently the chef are not Moroccan.
Beautiful experience for my 30th birthday with my boyfriend Algerian.Great food!
Best Moroccan and North African restaurant in London I have tried so far. Totally recommend. Dont miss the Chicken Bastilla, its very crispy and full of flavours and juicy the way it should be, perfect.
It was dark and warm when we entered. The stickers on the front of the shop does no justice for the place. More lights are needed as it dull.Victoria the waitress failed to watch customers. We asked for mint three times and she still forgot. There was only three customers so it should not have been difficult. Not great service. The food was a disappointment and over cooked you could taste the burnt parts of the food. The second portion came it was like it had been frozen and put in the microwave. The chicken was not tender and not tasty. I have had the dish before this was not pleasant atall very dryIt was really annoying as with paid £33 for two staters a bottle water and a pot of mint tea. Over priced and quality of food was not great.I would not go agian.
Definitely recommend this place. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is calm, the decor is lovely, the staff are welcoming and the service is fantastic. The prawn tajine and chakchouka are amazing.
Might be Michelin star but food was bland. Service was amazing. But wouldnt go back there for food
Best Houmous in the worldLamb shank well seasoned and delicious
Very good Moroccan restaurant. The tajine was delicious. For the couscous royal, the lamb and the veggies were very good, the chicken unfortunately a bit dry and the broth was missing salt and spice - the harissa helped a bit.
We are so lucky to have such a wonderful North African restaurant in Hammersmith.I always get the tajine el ain - such tender and delicious lamb shank cooked with prunes, apricots and walnuts. Yum yum!
I strongly recommend it, a sure value, the best Algerian restaurant in London for its service, its warm and friendly welcome!! without forgetting of course the taste of the food which is just divine whatever you order everything is a pure delight and so delicious.
Lovely restaurant, great food, lovely staff, little expensive but worthy. Soft lighting, can be romantic or just a good night out with friends.
We had booked a table at Azou and when we arrived, the guy was very rude. He had called me 2 min before arriving to the restaurant. I told him that I was right in front of the restaurant (And we were on time). When we get there, he asked my name, my phone number, the time I made the reservation… all this in a very bad way.Shameful the way we were welcomed! We had crossed London for your food ! Just say “hi” next time, and do not take booking if you don’t wanna cook :/
So delicious! A great place to experience Moroccan, Tunisian and Algerian food all in one place. The tagline was fantastic - just barely touch the lamb and it melts from the bone
Amazing food. The lamb tagine Constantine was perfect. Starters of calamari and hummus was excellent. Highly recommended Azou for any evening out for great authentic and affordable food.
DO NOT HESITATE… EAT HERE!My husband is Algerian and has raved about this restaurant for years since he lived in London. After 5 years (& a pandemicwe made our way to London from California and he made sure we checked out Azou. The food here is incredible, the ambiance is beautiful and the staff are very friendly. My recommendations:Start with the sardines, brik, bourek, and the bastilla (the combination of the meat and the sweetness of the cinnamon is such a wonderful taste)Entree: Tajine zitoune (I love olivesand couscous royale (merguez, the lamb sausages are my absolute fav)
I used to come to this amazing restaurant back in the day when I was living in London. My wife and I came for a visit to UK from the States and I wanted her to try some Algerian food and again, this restaurant didnt disappoint!Service was outstanding. They make sure that every table is taken good care of and theyre very friendly.Food wise, now let me tell you something, literally everything on the menu is delicious! Im originally from Algeria so I know Algerian food.We both loved it so much that we made another reservation for the day before we fly back to California. You really cant go wrong with pretty much anything on the menu but I would highly recommend the Brick, the Bourek, the sardines, The couscous Royale and the Tagine Zitoune (with Olives).Oh and their desserts are also delicious, go for the ktayef.Cant wait to go back again in a couple of days.
Lovely place. The decor is gorgeous. The food! Amazing. And the owner/chef is really friendly. He makes food recommendations and checks on you. I recommend this place 💯
Went for a last minute trip to London and saw great reviews for this spot. They didnt let us down! Cant wait to come back and get more. Take tips from the staff, they have an incredible menu and know what matches. Great customer service, the chef even came to say hello. Highly recommended
The food is the star of this restaurant. They have a wide range of options to choose from but the common denominator is they all burst with flavors. The chef himself looks after the guests, recommends food and tries to make sure everythings going smooth. The music and decor deserves a shoutout too.
We just walked in off the street without a reservation and boy are we pleased we did! We were made to feel extremely welcome and the food, oh what a delight! If we ever get to this area of London again - we would certainly give this another visit! Highly recommended.
The food was perfect, so flavourful and soft but what made this restaurant great, was the service. Wonderful chef and wonderful decor - we would highly recommend!
Such a beautiful restaurant with a peaceful atmosphere. The food was lovely and so was the staff. Would highly recommend coming here 😊
A very nice and cosy restaurant with very lovely staff and chef, the food was absolutely amazing, everything is full of flavour and spot on, will definitely go back
Stunning the best out of this world! Had the lamb tagine with prunes which was very rich in taste, will try regular one next time!
Everything is good here, food service etc. But I was expectic a bit more friendliness when coming to a maroccan / North African restaurant. Staff was great but could be just a bit more engaging, welcoming. Its quite an expensive restaurant so they could offer say a dessert for free or some free tea before you are served.
Delightful management and hosting. Wide array of traditional dishes, cooked to perfection. However, the lack of cool air conditioning did negatively effect my ability to enjoy my dinner. I will say that others did not seem as bothered as me.
Amazing , best Algerian and North African food Ive tasted in my life. The place is amazing , everything was perfect , starting from the amazing friendly owner to the music played . I enjoyed every single moment at the restaurant.
Today I have been in Azou with my partner, and while we were there, a huge spider fell into the shirt of my partner...I can understand that it is difficult to clean the fabrics from the ceiling, however, I cannot tolerate the attitude of the Manager, who made fun of us instead of apologizing. In terms of food, the place is less than average, I would not recommend it AT ALL. Small menu, mostly drinks.
Excellent food! Lamb was on point and succulent. Very earthly flavours. I just wish there was a bit more soup. But overall, great atmosphere and very tasty.
Fantastic resturant. What a gem! Impeccable service and food. The tagines are utterly delicious! Its a beautiful resturant too with lovely decor and ambiance. Really wonderful meal, thank you! I wish I lived in London so I could come here all the time!
Fabulous, this place is very special. Food is delicious, the plates are rich with a great combination of flavours, the design of the place is unique and takes you for a moment to Morocco. Atmosphere, staff, service were excellent.
Azou was very nice. The menu was very Morrocan / Mediterranean. I had the lamb shank and my friend had the chicken dish. We also had a side of cous cous. The mint tea was incredible. Book ahead reservations. This place has won a lot of rewards for a reason.
The tagine was too sweet. Take away 2 stars for the price and the drink. The lemonade was just Sprite + lemon juice.
Very nice atmosphere & the staff were very attentive & polite. The food was very nice. It’s a Moroccan restaurant.
Very decent Moroccan / North African food, lots of tagines and couscous. I highly recommend the bastil appetiser, which was a beautiful phyllo pastry filled with chicken, raisins, nuts, and other wonderfulness.
What a great spot for your N.African dosage. Would totally recommend, big quantities, great vibes and friendly service. We ordered both fish and lamb couscous and they were magnificent. Thanks chef Azou !
Really enjoyed dining here. The atmosphere is great and the food was fantastic. I want to specifically mention the service as well. I came here for dinner with my 97 year old grandfather and they could not have treated him with more respect or care. Their staff were attentive and wonderfully accommodating. They have my thanks and I would hope you would stop by and enjoy their hospitality as well.
Love love love this place. I heard good things and have been looking for a classic Moroccan food place that isnt a large chain, but nice and authentic with good flavours. This place is an amazing find. Nice and cosy setting and the food is WOW! I had the lamb tagine with fruit and almonds (a must try), the Baba ganoush is the best Ive ever had, the king prawns are huge and delicious. I met the owner and he was very a friendly and appreciated the amazing feedback. I was transported back to Morocco. Im a real foodie and its very difficult to impress me. I will definitely be going back. Not too pricey either.
