28 Mikayıl Hüseynov Prospekti, Bakı 1000, Azerbaijan, Zabrat
Museum with an emphasis on the art of carpet weaving, plus Azeri ceramics & costumes.
Good place to visit. Visiting inside is recommended for people who like museums of carpets.
Unfortunately the upper floor was closed, so did not managed to see everything, yet seems to be nice place of history around carpeting. Worth to see!
Ok, but could be more interesting
Best place to learn about some history and crafts, main attraction is the buildings structure!
We couldnt go inside but every evening we walked beside the rolling building along he see . it is so spectacular building they wanted to present it as a carpet looking building and I guess they get success.
Very innovative building design with good amount of rugs to look at.Unfortunately one floor was closed when we visited.Staff was friendly and there is a shop to buy rugs from. There are multiple ladies making the rugs so you get to see how rugs are made.
A must visit place in Baku. Sadly, I missed the chance of going inside and therefore suggest others to not make the same mistake. Amazing environment at the outside too.
Very interesting and a knowledgeable experience
Amazing building architectureMuseum for carpets, all about carpets if you like then visitPrice 10-30 manat ($6-15)
Great exhibit of carpets and carpet making. Note : I had to pay cash, apparently their processor has a problem with US credit cards
Very interesting and well curated museum - however the audio guide explanations do not correlate with over half the exhibit numbers you enter - which left us in the dark a lot on some of the fuller explanations we wanted in specific areas or for certain items. We told the ticket office and they said they knew about the problem but not sure why we were not told about it when we were sold the audio guide-?
The place is a little bit small, there is carpets, but its 15 minutes of visit only. I suggest people to visit Hader alyev center instead which have beautiful carpets and also a lot of other things.
If you want to see some unique stuff so this is very good option for you highly recommend please
The museum shows their rich history with carpets. The weaving is very nice and intricate.
Good collection which worth to see, but be ready to pay in cash and some part of exposition is available only on specific days
Nice place to visit in Baku
Very nice, clean and interesting Museum
I was thinking it will be boring but I really enjoyed itTicket price : 10 manatTime : 1 hour maximum
The audio guide was incorrect after the first floor (all of the exhibits were mislabeledand they refused to give me a refund since I had already walked through the museum. It seems to be a known problem and not a specific issue with my device
Amazing! I had hands on experience too.
The modern carpet section is quite unique, and although it is just the last part of the expo, it is worth checking it out!
Great location for learn about the traditional craft and history of this great country. Many outstanding carpets to inspect and observe. A must visit place in Baku.
Useless place unless you are into history. We expected unique Carpets but didnt find. Instead found historic Carpets. King xyz gifted this carpet to king abc bla bla. No wonder we were the only visitors despite peak season. Nevertheless the staff was good and place well organized.
Interesting museum. Closed on Mondays, arrange your visit accordingly.
I was looking for an air conditioned midday break, didn’t expect to like this museum so much! I expected row after row of carpets, but the explanations and other textiles made it enjoyable. I appreciated the videos as well. I liked the use of escalators, the lighting was good. Only suggestion I have is to make Toilet more obvious (I think only one on main leveland better cafe.
Nice collection of carpets with some interesting designs on display with English description. Entrance is 10 AZN. In addition to small oil painting section on the ground level and a gift shop. Also it has a nice sea front.
Good idea, but very simple and monotonous implementation. Get ready to pay in cash.
I really liked the building from the outside. It looks amazing like a folded carpet. Also the location and the surrounding street is a must to visit and explore. The museum tour is nice should take an hour. Maybe more if u r into carpet and history. There is audio support for $2 and the entry is around $4.
A unique museum dedicated to culture and artistry of carpet weaving
A good place for carpet lovers and if you are interested in carpet designs. Entrance charged AZN.10.00.
Nice place . Very beautiful carpet. Recommend to visit for everyone
Now if your a fan of Persian carpets you will love this place. I came more for the architecture than anything. As you can see from the pictures the building is made to look like a rolled up carpet. As you can Magine the inside has quite a few Persian carpets with their significance described below. It’s interesting but if you don’t have a lot of time I will drive by not go in. But like I said if you like Persian carpets this would be five stars for you.
I like the building of this museum. There you will see a unique variety of carpets including several Iranian carpets as well. Enjoy there.
Carpet museum displays great collection and artwork, it has various installations, workshops. I would definitely recommend this museum.
Most Unique and organized Musium i ever visited. I learn lot of things and histoey after visiting this Musium. Parking is bit challenging so I will rexommend taxi (Bolt is cheapor public transport. Very beautiful museum. One of the best attractions in the town. Many interesting collections and story. Well-organized with a lot of information. I recommend to spend one to two hours here.
Pretty great. Even someone without great interest in carpets will appreciate the excellent exhibits, lively building design, and cultural experience.
I havent been inside but from outside looks nice and the architecture is super cool, next to the sea.
Nice experience to see the real art of carpet making from the past to the modern styles. It is such a great educational visit to the museum. I highly recommend it to all to visit it. Enjoy your visit 🙂.
Really good exhibits. I think as a westerner it is easy to underestimate how important this might be to the Azeri folk but the exhibits here help put it in context. Also the carpets are stunning. A good way to spend 2 hours if you have the time.
Interested in art and history? This place is next level on presenting the history of carpets and the old process. The museum itself is a masterpiece.
Great place. The architecture is fabulous, and the inside exhibitions are pretty. You can see the carpeting process live, with few carpet machines here and there and women working on them. The best floor was the last with some modern and Islamic art.
I like this place, its peaceful and beautifully designed. Its a history from carpet from our ancestors to now. The building is decorated well. Also it has video and show how to make a carpet. Beside they gathered different type of carpet from different parts of the world. Thanks.
The museum was good. It was in English and some of with Braille also includes a video that shows you how they made it.They have 3 types of tickets the stander one without guide in 7 manat. I recommend to visit it 👌🏼💜- free WiFi, no water allowed ( put it in the information desk, when you finish you can take it back ), WC in the first floor.
Amazing museum with big carpets collections , its cost 7 ma for one adult , museum is 3 floors , I think you should visit if you are at baku , at the first floor there are shop selling carpets but its super expensive . Walking slowly look to the carpets on the walls and observe small details and you will fall in love with this museum.
Good place to spend and hour or so. Very detailed explanation of the carpet producing region and also variation.A number or stations where artist are actually weaving - different styles different design.7 manat to get in.
• Duration of my visit :- 2 Hours ⏰ .• Experience :1)Loved the building architecture and the surrounding park 👍.2)A big collection of carpets, cloths, and tools that are made of cotton and wool .• Cameras are not allowed as they will ask you to put yours in a locker but you can use your phone instead !
one of the must sightseeing in baku city is carpet museum.the museum located near the metro station, you can reach there from everywhere easily.the building shaped like a rolled carpet.it takes 1-2 hours to visit all 3 floors.as its interesting to visit beautiful classic carpets from different cities from the past .its not only visiting the carpets,it means visiting the history.the process of changing maps!
Very interesting place for the visitors of Baku and just curious people. The museum has been renovated and changed its location. Having the shape of the carpet itself it represents very modern installation of different carpets woven in different styles and regions. Along with the old historical carpets one can find contemporary carpets as well. Museum has very good illumination so the each carpet is visually well presented. It has souvenirs shop. Though I personally think this shop is expensive. In general it is worth to be visited place in Baku.
Excellent collection of carpets displaying. The museum is very well managed. Overall its clean, well lit, with lockers for bigger bags or belongings. Use of big cameras will be charged for a fee.
