We stopped here for lunch during a bike ride. It was great. The food tastes good and the service was friendly and efficient. We just sat outside on the platform but had a loook in the vintage buffet carriage restaurant which looks really interesting. Well book to eat in there next time.

A quaint afternoon reminiscing over the age of steam. We enjoyed our hour trip going up and down the line and seeing Bitton Station so well preserved followed by coffee cake and coffee people watching. We stayed outside at a table at the buffet to watch the train return with complete with those having afternoon tea on the train.

Took a long walk down to Saltford, really peaceful, the odd cyclist and saw the train twice. Would recommend for anyone wanting a nice dog walk. The coffee was a tad expensive in the cafe, but went down well.

What a lovely little heritage railway. Think it’s only about 3 mile in length but worth a visit if you are near. We went on one of the hottest days of the year so unfortunately they were only running a heritage Diesel engine to avoid the possibility of line side fires. Safety first. But this didn’t detract from this beautiful little railway. Very scenic. £9 per person so reasonably priced. Free parking. Staff were lovely and chatty. Clearly enjoying their work. If only in all heritage railways the staff were so nice. Great cafe, outside seating but we sat indoors in a converted rail coach. Very nice. All in a great few hours spent on a great little heritage railway.

Nice train ride.Lovely old carriages.Bitton station is in the middle of three stations that are in use on the old line.Diesel hauled when I visited because it was too hot & dry for steam. (fire risk)Shop open on running days.Buffet open every day.Lovely place for snacks, meals and drinks. On the Bristol/Bath cycle path too

We visited as part of a corporate volunteering day. We were taking rail joint plates off, liberally greasing them so the rails can expand safely in the heat and then putting it all back together. It was dirty but incredibly fun work. Avon Valley volunteer Doug showed us what to do and had us working as a well oiled team by the end of the day! Im hoping we can arrange to volunteer here again.

A lovely day out, very reasonably priced. The station had lots going on. The cafe is in an old railway carriage, we didnt have anything to eat on our visit but we will be back as it was highly recommended. All the staff were very friendly and had lots of time to share the history of the station. One of our party(in her 30shad never travelled by rail which made our day out a real adventure for her!

Nice steam railway preservation project. Station has a shop, a nice cafe, one platform, and a booking office. There is a decent amount of parking and a small play area. Prices are reasonable and its on a good cycle route. The train and carriages have been beautifully restored and the journey is wonderfully scenic. They often hold themed events there. For example the Gert Lug Lego days, where large Lego displays are set up and there are various stalls and games. They also put Lego on the train, so you can build as you ride the steamy!

Weve been on 2 of their dining experiences now. Pie and Ale, and Sausages and Cider. Both were absolutely amazing. From the friendly guards on the platform, the lovely ladies who serve you, and the amazing chef that caters for dairy intollerant people like myself. Food is lovely. Service is 5*. Very well organised. We sadly couldnt go too far down the track due to works that were going on, but just going back and forth listening to the chugging of the engine and smelling the smoke was very nostalgic for our parents who came with us.Thank you to all the wonderful staff. Cant wait to go back.

What can l say,I have known this railway from when it was running under BR. Now as a preserved heritage line it lives on. The volunteers running it are doing a magnificent job keeping it going. Whether you are a railway anorak or not it is definitely a place to visit lots to see and do and very friendly staff. There is also a path for cyclists and walkers.

My first time to this place, thought the volunteers / workers were very pleasant and I would be giving this a 4.5 stars if I could simply docking .5 stars because of the length of the track along with the quite high food prices.Again, staff lovely, everything clean and child friendly, even got a quick small tour of this engine which was great.

Checked out the shop, which had plenty of food and drink. Had a look at the carriages where you can eat and seemed OK, tho, in my opinion, quite basic. Spoke to a visitor whod had Sunday lunch there and he told us that it gets busy on a Sunday and is best to book. Book or muss out was the expression, so I assume the roast was up to scratch. Toilets and disabled parking available

Stumbled onto it while on the Bristol to Bath pathway,.If your into stream trains you better head this way, plenty to see and take in with the old engines and carriages dotted around the station.Loved the cafe and where you sat under the canopy of the old station, gets really busy but it all adds to the atmosphere.Head down to the end of the line where you will find all sorts that connect it to the rail line.Didnt get to go on the stream train but it looks fun (if you like that sort of thing)Oh and if you feel a little deflated theres a handy pump by the side 😁

Great little place. Loads of history and the opportunity to ride on some pretty old carriages and engines. There is a restaurant on site along with a gift shop. Definitely worth a visit. There are several plaques dotted around too with information on the different engines and the history they carry.

Excellent little historical railway, they don’t have a long run but it’s a nice trip for the kids. They get to see a steam train and get out a couple of times to see it decouple and move around. The volunteers are really friendly and helpful, it’s a nice place for a visit. They have a cafe on site too, but we skipped it so can’t comment on quality.

I found this place "by accident" but it was a great afternoon out. Short ride on a steam train up and down few miles of track with tasty cakes on the station is enough to make you smile. All ages and dogs welcome.

Very pleasant little railway that thankfully runs in February half term! Short trips by diesel railcar to both ends of the track, taking about 45mins for a round trip. Under 5s travel free, so its great for young children, and the cafe serves good food and has a 5* hygiene rating. Parking is free and seems pretty plentiful and there are lots of locos to see, though most are slightly off limits, making photos a little tricky.
