Frauenplatz 8, 80331 München, Germany, Muenchen
Restaurant & beer garden of the brewery, offering classic Bavarian dishes & beers over 3 floors.
rather huge place, which leads to an unpersonal experience. However, the food was really good and the beer delicious
Awesome place! Right next to the Frauenkirche, easy to walk from the Marienplatz! Great beer, and an absolutely must have desert (the Kaiserschmarnn)! Would absolutely go again.
Busy place, not all waiters were welcoming maybe it s because this is a well known spot. Food was good, I took a Schweinehaxe. Price is affordable. Surrounding area is beautiful (centerand restaurants decoration/vibe is charming.
Best Oktoberfest beer. Great food. An overall delight, better than Hof Brauhaus
I dont remember much, but beer and atmosphere was good
Good food and beer, solid service. Nice spot in the heart of Munich. I dont know how normal a pile of shredded horseradish is, but that was new to me!
Its a beer and bavarian food heaven in at the heart of Munich! The closest bavarian drink, food and vibe you can get in the city centre!Just leave everything out and enter, drink beer and live the bavarian moment here!
Tourist trap! good food but very expensive. The service is super rude. We ordered ~88 € worth of food and despite that we got an open rude comment from the waitress saying: how could someone come to a „Wirtschaft“ and only order two drinks? I would’ve walked away the moment I heard that but I was with my tired mom and wanted to rest and eat in the closest place we found. Never again!
Good food, Good BeerI did visit twice. I would give 5 stars if service could be improved.
Worst service in town. The treatment of the staff was one of the worst experiences we have had in Munich. The food and place are average, German traditional place good for walk in.
You simply cant go wrong with anything Augustiner when in Münich. Excellent beers, good food and simply the atmosphere you expect in a Brauhaus. Not the place to be when youre vegan or vegetarian.
Worst service experience I have ever had in MunichI live in Munich and I wanted to take my friends to a local place but unfortunately they left disappointed of the service quality. The server was rude from the moment we sat at the table and demanded we order food 5 minutes after we ordered our drinks. We decided not to order food and pay for such a horrible customer service
Great place. We went there with American business partners. Sat outside on the back of the building.Best waiter ever ! (The bold guy with the beard)
Bavarian food with an indoor and outdoor area. The outdoor area is packed and sits in the center, the indoor is large picnic like tables with a nice ambience.
We wanted to get a drink, but the waitress told us we have to order food and we can’t just have a drink. The manager did not look interested in my feedback either, but said we could have a drink inside if we wanted. This place does not care about customer experience, stay away at all costs.
Fatty, almost cold meat, too much vinegar on the potato (for me), poor sausage and some meatball - for 45€We left it on the plate, we don’t recommend this place at all.
Me and my friend came to have dinner. Theres a free table upstairs and it was uncomfortable hot there. We ordered Schnitzel and asked for options other than salad. The waiter said, you can choose anything. We asked for fries and we got a rude answer that "its a bayerish restaurant not french". Since the beginning he was impolite and rude. Finally when we got the food, it was a disappointment: meat was thin, potatoes not that much and without any taste and the green stuff was a half of a little tomato. My friend got bellyache. It wasnt worth the high price. And service was rude. Couldnt recommend for anyone.
Unfortunately we didn’t have chance to get dinner in this restaurant. We waited the seat outside on the first. But the waitress gave 2 tables to the people behind us without any explanation. I asked why, but she was very rude and said these tables for 3 people. I argued that there is same table occupied by only 2 people. We were not happy for the waitress’s service and left. If the waitress can explain friendly on the first, I can accept it, but she was not.
Good place, great setting, friendly staff, good was good and they are open late. Go if you are looking for a good German dinner.
Nice place with friends or families to enjoy Bavarian food! Has good vibes next to a historic church. The sweinhaxen and beer goes perfectly well! Augustiner weissbier not to be missed!
Very good food in an amazing ambience in Munich’s city centre. Tasty Bavarian food especially the Leberkase with a wide beer selection
Service and drinks ok, food not (schnitzel completely soaked in butter)
We visited the place on a crowded Saturday evening in July. It was obviously almost full, but the staff did its best to manage, they were really professional. The food is expensive - you are in the middle of Münich -, but delicious, the beer is the best. I can highly recommend the place
The waitresses are feisty and the prices are a bit higher than normal. Remember it is a tourist spot. But once you get passed that, they are actually very nice. I ordered only one dish with my gf and they split it on 2 plates without me telling. Beer was good and cold plus the service was very fast.
Standard Augustiner - Bavarian style pub in the heart of the city center. A little better food than the average bierhaus and one of the more quickly accessible Augustiner locations.
Good Weiss beer! My wife and I came in just for the beer then ended up staying for the Plate of the day. It was delicious and a great value. We would definitely come back to this place. The staff was all very friendly. There was plenty of seating available.
Food was only alright. Prices were kinda expensive. Service from some staff were good, others not so much.
Decent food, decent service. A little underwhelming based on price of the dinner. No substitutions, some accommodation to food allergens but charged extra to not put sauce on meat.
Good atmosphere, yummy food and they speak in English, there are many restaurants with same name near Marienplat. This is very old one, but still food was yummy.
Most delicious sausages....very interesting salad and ever best delicious duck 😋 we was in Munich 4 days and eat there every day 😁 the place is on top location and with traditional atmosphere. I like it very much. Thanks guys for this that do.
A traditional style hofbraus (barthat services kindly to both the German language as well as English. The schweinhaxen was a delicious, moist pork meal and is greatly recommended. The Augustiner is the recent oktoberfest bier (beerthat is smooth and refreshing and is light, so you can enjoy many of them and not wake up with a dreaded headache. The action there is lively from open to close even on the week days. Well worth the trip when in the area.
Your typica Augustiner brewery - central location, great beer, tasty food. Prices are a bit on the high end, payment by card is possible. Staff is friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is authentic and typical for a brewery. The place is sually quite busy, so booking a table in advance would be smart.
Great place and very good food. Strongly recommend.
Food was great. The pig knuckle was a must try. Waiter was very friendly. Local guide recommended me to have dinner there and it was a great suggestion.
Went there with four friends for drinks and dinner at around 7pm on Saturday, 16th April. First of all, the male waiter sat us at one of the long, high tables on the terrace, which was nice, even though the heater above us wasn’t working. We had a couple of Mass of the delicious Augustiner Helles. We felt a bit colder as the evening went on, so he found a table inside for us and we were then served by a lovely waitress with a great sense of humour, who joked with us and the other guests inside. For dinner, two of us had the asparagus with Hollandaise sauce and ham, which was absolutely delicious as were the knuckle of pork (Schweinshaxeand the wild garlic (Bärlauchand asparagus pasta, which my other friends had. We then had the Kaiserschmarrn (chopped pancakewith Apfelmus (stewed apple saucefor dessert, which was so good!! I highly recommend the Augustiner am Dom restaurant for its excellent service, food and location, right beside the Frauenkirche cathedral.
Described on the map, home cooking, doubting after the meal. Käsespätzle much too bland and salad determined from the bag with sauce from the tube. Long waiting times, not recommended.
Central located near historical places in Munich. You can choose to sit outside or inside (it was snowing so I was inside). They have a big saloon in the first floor which make feasible for limited mobility persons, but the bathrooms are only downstairs. They have the Augustiner Beer, which is good and the price is the average from all Munich traditional places.
Situated opposite the cathedral and on a small, narrow street the Augustiner am Dom had every opportunity to be a tourist rip-off but it was far from it.It was our first lunch in Munich, and on Christmas Eve. Despite all the possibilities for a bad experience it was surprisingly good - food, service and value. We had to go upstairs to get a table, which was actually better as were away from the doors and the cold air.The service was prompt but not rushed, and the food - we both had the roasted pork knuckle - was fantastic.Due to the date and time of our visit, there was a high turnover of people wanting a table, so while not being rushed to leave by the staff it is respectful for diners to not hang around unnecessarily after they have eaten, and this was appreciated by the staff.Would go again
To be honest, we did not really enjoyed their sausages which are very hard to chew. Felt like rubber.Compared to other restaurant, the sausages were small and not very good.We do not recommend this dish, should choose maybe an other speciality.Nontheless, the apple strudel is amazing! We felt a pressure to tip more than we wanted to.
Nice place to have dinner. We had bratwurst and pork knuckle there which were really nice. On the other hand, it has 3 floors so walk-in would be fine. The atmosphere is good as it is quite a local restaurant (many German went there). Also you can order a 1L beer 😊
Really great food, location and most importantly service! We’ve been here a couple of times and they always seem happy to receive you at this restaurant. They have lots of great Bavarian dishes on the menu and of course, the local favorite, Augustiner beer.
Its one of the best German restaurants in Munich, very delicious food. But prices are also quite high. When my friends come to Munich I always bring them to here.
Nice bar, with plenty of seating outside at the front and back. Inside wasnt as warm as it could be.Only accept cash so keep that in mind if you are travelling.Good selection of food on the menu, apple strudel was nice but a bit on the expensive side.
Lecker! Everything tasted so good and the service was fast and the server was super friendly. The beer is so good... Tempted to come back again!
Good option in the Aldstadt near the Marienplatz (Rathausserving Augustiner beer, schnitzel, bratwurst and pork knuckle.Friendly staff who have English menus for tourists (more locals here than the Hofbrauhaus area).
Probably the worst German restaurant I have been to! The only good thing is the location...right beside the Frauenkirche. The food was horrible...also those dishes that are usually good everywhere! The service was friendly... But the prices are way too high for this below average quality and taste. It looks more like a tourist trap to fetch out money out of the ones who have no idea what they are paying for. There is a large amount of indoor and outdoor seating. The view from the upper floors is just ok. Not recommended at all.
Nice place to sit and have a drink. Food was not that good, we had pork, schnitzel and ravioli. Meat was dry and not that must taste. And it was too pricy if you ask me. Beer was awesome though and its opposite of a really lovely church.
Disappointing. The waiters are very abrupt and a little rude. Wiener schnitzel is average, a bit soggy and not crisp, though the potato salad it comes with is delicious.
Average place. Food, service and ambience. Tons of tourist and not personal. In the past, I enjoyed this place when the weather is nice, sitting outside, for a nice cold Augustiner Weißbier, watching people walking by enjoying the Dom.
busy & crowded, even though they have 3 levels. more locals than tourist compared to other Augustiner. ordered the platter, the roast pork skin was just crispy & addictive. duck meat was not bad too
