This place for relax, its best for my dreams! Best ecommendations
Thanks for the shelter. You are incredible. We are from Ukraine and lived in this hotel for an extraordinary 3 months. Very quiet and cozy town of Ennis near the hotel. There are many places where you can walk. Large lake, many trails for hiking and biking. There is a bus from the city to the ocean. Shannon Airport is 20 minutes from the hotel. A little further on is the large city of Limerick.
The restaurant wasnt nice for the breakfastThe reception wasnt very welcomingthe only good thing is the location
Have stayed here a few times. Great value for money. Very friendly staff and a great buffet breakfast. Food is excellent. Fantastic leisure centre with a very friendly and professional Lady named Hazel.
The rooms are very dated but clean. You can hear everything in the hallway and the radiator made a clunking noise constantly.
Called to check on reservation in 2 days only to find out they’ve cancelled every reservation to lodge Ukrainian refugees. Only problem is we weren’t notified, we booked this reservation in December. Left us in a pinch scrambling to find a new hotel 2 days before arrival. Not shown on the website either that they’ve cancelled all reservations- poor communication.
Not a good experience unfortunately stayed 1 night the smell of paint was toxic ir was everywhere from leaving reception to the toilets near the bar and all rhe ways up walking to our room it was a total turn off rooms were utterly baking way to hot to point u couldnt sleep at all and upon arrival for breakfast the next morning we had only sat down after hours of no sleep to be told u need to hurry up we need the table youve gor 10 min left to finish your food and we hadnt even got up to buffet to ger our food for this reason wed never return again point of a break away is tp rest eat relax smell nature nice rooms nor paint thinners felt like we were smelling petrol on way up to our rooms also big thing thats missing is a lift for people bringing luggage to there rooms you have to walk
Excellent swimming poolExcellent breakfastBeds could have been betterWould recommend for a family break. On site restaurant.
Staff are really great here, definitely the best feature. Building is very tired and needs a good bit of tlc. Towels in room are old and worn, need to be replaced with new ones, room itself in seriuos need of redecoration. Room was NOT serviced for us on our second day. Reported to reception 3 times, was promised it would be done, but it wasnt. Definitely will never be back here. The one word that comes to mind with regard to the hotel is cheap, and not in a good way.Highly recommend that this place is avoided.
Good hotelCleanGood and polite staffthere is restaurant, pub, garden, leisure center (with pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, gym... for free to the ones at the hotel)Poor soap and shampoos were provided.
Really lovely hotel hotel on edge of the great town of Ennis. Decent swimming pool and facilities.Rooms are a treck, as most are at ground level. I do wish there were walk-in showers instead of baths. The staff are super-friendly.
Pool and gym were fantastic. Rooms were comfy and food was quality. I loved my stay
This stay has been great .The room is great the service is top class and the food is lovelyThank you for a very pleasant stay
We had the most enjoyable family gathering to celebrate my sisters 70th. The hotel is lovely, food was very good. But the best part of our stay was the most helpful staff Ive ever encountered. From the youngest 3yrs to oldest over 70 we all had a fantastic time.
Nice hotel. A bit dated but the rooms were spotless and the food was good. Excellent waiting staff and a friendly reception. Cant fault it really.
Amazing staff from the minute we arrived till we left brilliant service nothing was to much trouble engaged with the children brilliant made sure they were enjoying their stay as well will definitely be back great value as well food was lovely thanks to Chris Anna Karen and all members of staff our family had a lovely break wishing you all the best in 2022
lovely hotel people in there reviews were saying old an dated .yes it was oldly decorated but spot less clean . and i liked its something different bit of charm i personality loved all the bricks and wood beautiful bar and restaurant the food in the bar is massive .i ate in restaurant one nite only ok .staff were lovely in both sections. the curry was that nice i ad i twice 2 different days out of the four fish an chips was delicious also .kids loved food too. swimming pool was lovely prebookin cause of c19 . would highly recommend great value for money. loads to do and see locally . try coole park near gort. lovely day out even in winter
We had a lovely 2 night stay at this hotel. Got a room as described on the website, everything functioned great. We had a 3 course dinner and breakfast here - it was really delicious, couldnt fault anything. The staff were really friendly and kind also. Staff were also good for enforcing Covid-19 guidelines and reminding guests of them. Very happy for a budget stay - Ive often stayed in 4 star hotels of a similar standard so this exceeded our expectations.
Late reservation but nice room and keen pricing... Didnt avail of breakfast as slept it in, but nice and close to town... Only a very short cab ride in, which the hotel organised.... Handy spot if you need somewhere close the town centre.
Staff very helpful, though first room we were shown was not at all acceptable, very dated....we got upgraded and must say fabulous room... Thoroughly enjoyed our stay...pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi..in heaven...will be back
Had a wonderful stay the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The roos and well appointed and comfortable. The leisure centre and gym facility is clean and well equiped and pool is a nice place to spend some time. The food is really good and both reasonable priced and filling.Looking forward to coming back to visit again.
The staff were excellent from the gorgeous Aoife on reception who was efficient, friendly and so helpful to Stephen and Chris the managers. The ladies in the restaurant were very friendly and helpful too. We found the food good and the atmosphere was very welcoming definitely worth a visit and we will be back.
Lovely big hotel, staff were brilliant as was the facilities. Didnt get to try the food but what came out looked nice. Our room was huge.My only niggle was I found the bed too hard but otherwise it was great. Will definitely book again
Was nothing great by any means. Way over priced for what it was. The pipes in our room woke us up early hours in the morning and kept doing so for hours after. After we told the front desk we were just told we should have gone down at 3am and they would have change our room IF they had another available. Disappointing experience overall. Would not go again.
Enjoyed the stay thoroughly. Food was lovely and so was the hotel and leisure facilities. The only thing I felt is the chairs werent the most comfortable.Staff were excellent especially one lady at breakfast who we hope to see again if we come back to Clare. Covid regulations were well adhered to and the place has a homely rustic feel to it.
Spent two nights (Friday & Saturdayand was very satisfied. Staff really helpful. Great hotel and well worth the money. Would recommend
Today is our last day in the hotel and we are sad to go. Just stayed for 2 nights myself and my partner got a great deal, 2 nights B&B and 1 evening people. At first impression the hotel is a bit dated but it actually grew on us and Ive grown to fall in love with the homely feel, fire lighting in the lobby all day everyday is a fantastic touch. All the staff are wonderful and so helpful, we really enjoyed our staff and will definitely return
The hotel needs a bit/lot of modernization but other that that its very nice. The staff are friendly and helpful. Clean and tidy rooms.
Not the most modern of hotels and could do with a bit of modernisation in places but the rooms were clean and comfortable. It breakfast was good but a bit chaotic (due to covid regsso not the hotels fault at all.Our toddler enjoyed swimming in the attached pool however be warned it is a little on the cool side for younger children. We booked our stay as part of a deal where one nights 3 course dinner was included in the price, we ate in the bar as the restaurant was only open Fri & Sat. Extra was charged for our toddlers food which we werent expecting, but in hindsight we should have clarified what was included when making our reservation. The staff are all nice and friendly but what really makes the place is the cleaning staff, they are the the nicest friendliest group of ladies, and nothing is too much trouble
Where to startStayed here for two nights, with my husband and two young kids. Some of the staff didnt want to be there, rooms need to be updated. Hairs in the bathtub, mattress was terrible and felt that it hadnt been changed in years. Dried blood stains on blankets etc. The walls were paper thin could hear everything ie doors banging, people going to the toilet in their rooms, Tvs on, people snoring etc. Never slept so bad. Only positive was the swimming pool which was 10/10 for me. Wont be returning!
We read alot of reviews about this place before we book and if we were to believe all the negative reviews we wouldnt have booked but we said we.ll try it for ourselves and were glad we did... yes the rooms are slightly dated but were comfortable we slept so well. The hotel was a bit short staffed but we were told this. But you wouldnt have noticed. The breakfast was perfect.. it was a buffet and plenty to choose from. Dinner in the bar was extremely tasty. And the leisure centre was perfect. So all I can say if you want 5 star accommodation book a 5 star hotel. But for us (2 adults and a babythe Auburn lodge ticked all the boxes and was great value for money. We will definitely book again
On entering the receptionist was very helpful and welcoming we proceeded to our outdated room which smelled old... the window was falling apart..We where placed for our meal in the bar beside a smoking area ..if you suffer with asthma you will understand this was horrible I had to move .staff under extreme pressure. Food was good. Booked leisure and spa facilities but when we arrived the guy had got the time wrong so after getting up at 7 am to go for a spa treatment at 8 there was no treatment 🙃...maybe just having a bad weekend but I certainly was disappointed but seeing my family made up for everything 😀
Extremely dated decor, poor level of service at reception with uninterested staff. Food options not good. Charged €5 per child at breakfast despute booking a family room b&b - what a rip off! Many other better hotels that deserve the custom - avoid
Great value for money, staff amazing, the food is excellent and the staff very helpful. The bedrooms and bathrooms could do with a little updating but we slept well and enjoyed our swim every morning...
Its fine. A bit dated in terms of rooms and foyer. Pool is compact. What made our brief stay were the staff. Every member we encountered were so courteous, needed extra towels and they were delivered to room in less than 3 minutes. Staff at leisure centre so helpful and accommodating too.Lots of children running around small garden and up and down corridors which was actually nice that they were allowed. We had no kids with us but appreciated how difficult it is to travel with kids and play centres etc closed. One small moment was our bathroom wasnt as clean as it should be, especially in the current covid climate. I didnt complain at the time because it wasnt filthy, just a smear of makeup on tiles. It can happen. Didnt impact our stay. For the price I probably wouldnt stay again with so much choice in Ennis at sane price point with newer interior and larger pools etc.
I wa very pleased with my room and bathroom. We had dinner in hotel which was OK.but there was lots of small children running around the foya unsupervised and staff and customers trying to get through staff with trays of drink.!.all staff very helpful and pleasant. Plenty of parking space. Would go back again..
Stayed here for 2 nights and was not impressed at all. For a 3 star hotel the price was fierce high for a room. When i got into the room i was very disappointed by lack of cleaning. Cobwebs and spiders in each corner of the room. Have to walk from your room to the leisure centre in your swim gear down the halls which may i add is a mini marathon in itself since its such a horrifically laid out hotel. Wifi was absolutely shocking and unusable. Then in the morning the breakfast had the worst selection i have ever seen. Ive seen better selections in a deli of a shop.Would not recommend a stay!Best thing about the Auburn is its location since its close to the city but not close enough to be noisy..but they make up for the noise with a door every 20 meters in the hallways from people walking by and a radiator heating up at 6-7am making a loud popping noise.I suggest looking elsewhere and if you cant then go out for food instead and the less time spent in the hotel the better.
Leisure centre is a good set up, pool times can be hard to get though. Staff are lovely and bar area is OK but hotel is badly worn, needs some work. Little things, only 2 cups in a room for 4 people, nowhere to hang towels to dry anywhere so ended up using doors and handles, broken hangers in wardrobes, carpets not particularly clean, had to ask for towels each day as they forgot to replace them after you have to leave them in the hall (covid procedure), little garden area could be really lovely if maintained. Menu is OK, couldnt eat there every night. Breakfast is OK, nothing special. Place is packed so does good business but really needs some money spent on it. Location is good if youre seeing the area, under 10 euro to get in to Ennis in a taxi, too far to walk.
Not at all a clean place, our room was nit cleaned properly we found litter under the beds and the floors were not clean. The staff were very friendly. The bar was over crowded during these times was not ideal. There was very little outdoor seating within the gardens which would of been good.
Hotel was clean, food was good and staff were very nice. We had an issue with the room when we arrived and the staff changed our room immediately. The hotel was in a good location to tour around, 45 minutes from Ailwee cave, 50 minutes from Doolin, 30 from Bunratty and so on. I didnt get to try the pool, but the changing rooms arent open with current restrictions so bear that in mind when packing. Oh, and a Lidl next door which was handy to get sandwiches /drinks etc when going out for the day.
We spent 2 nights here last week as part of a deal whereby we had to eat our breakfasts and main meals (3 x coursesin the hotel each day. I’m sorry to report that every single meal and course was worse than the next. It was undoubtedly the worst food my partner and I have ever tasted from a restaurant. Out daughter (9yorefused to eat the meals and I couldn’t blame her. We had to bring her to McDonalds each evening as it was close by. She was so disappointed and so were we as she loves eating hotels when given the chance. I unfortunately also witnessed a chef go from the kitchen to the toilet with his apron on, which turned my stomach. That is not ok!! Food is such an important part of a holiday and this really took from our enjoyment of ours.Added to this, the rooms were dated and beds were tiny and uncomfortable. There was also no lift and we were dead from lifting the pram up and down the stairs. There was a cot booked for a new baby so I was disappointed that they hadn’t the wherewithal to put us on the ground floor knowing how much extras come with a baby including prams etc.Positives were that the staff were very friendly and the place was clean.
Lovely breakfast & great staff. However the furniture in our room very dated, carpet is nearly threadbare so could do with a facelift.Pool was great, and Jacuzzi and steam room were open, however apparently changing rooms are for members only, (no sign up for this), even though on our first visit the lady in the leisure centre showed us where the dressing rooms were.
The room may have had outdated decor but it was impressively cleaned each day. The staff are incredibly friendly and equally helpful. The restaurant is in need of updating and the breakfast was good but, could be better, and still ticked most of the boxes. This hotel is very well located though!
Extremely out dated shabby rooms.Found hairs in the bathroomNo fresh towels or turn down provided. Had to phone down for pillows towels etc as not enough.Beds/mattresses cheap and uncomfortableStayed for 2 nights 3 days 2 adults 2 teens ..... never got to use the leisure centre or pool very unfair system....Breakfast was shocking. Food was luke warm ordered toast and tea to go with breakfast and the food was gone before it arrved. Portion not very generous.
Hotel needs a complete face lift rooms very basic. Carpet nearly tread bear in corridor. Food very disappointing. Swimming pool and jym top class. Staff very well coming and friendly go above the call of duty to help. Overall a nice hotel to stay in but rooms need to be updated
Rooms are shocking. I feel like I’m in my grandmothers house. The whole room itself is outdated, The bathroom is grimy and the window is only secured by a measly lock that I could break with the force of my hand. They tried changing our room to another. The room we viewed smelt of cigarettes and the only improved aspect of the room was the fact that it wasn’t as dull as the original room.I would fully advise not to stay.I would rate it a 0/10 if Google would let me.
The rooms are basic but the friendliness of the staff well makes up for it. The food is really really good , I couldnt fault it and big portions. The hotel has a lovely warm pool and is close to all amenities. In the current climate of covid the hotel is very well prepared and run efficiently. Will definitely be returning its GREAT!!!!!!!!
Hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful..however the hotel is very out of date and badly needs refurbishment. Potential to have beautiful gardens settings but its not kept at all to any standard everything was excellent when it came to covid management. car parking facilities where also excellent. Food at breakfast was very good also. would I stay again ? I dont think so
My wife & I celebrated our Silver anniversary there for 2 nights. The stay was the best ever & we will be back. The staff is very friendly from reception, dining & even the cleaners. Lovely food & served very fast. We were treated like vips from checking in to checking out, highly recommended.
Good value hotel. Great staff especially considering the present pandemic. Probably could do with upgrading but still clean. I will be back
