Au Coq in Montreal

Ordered online for a delivery. I called them an hour an a half later since I hadnt received anything, they said they did not receive the order due to their system being down.

Food excellent, hot when arrived. Chicken tasty and plenty of fries.

Rude receptionist, she doesn’t know how to talk with people. Worst service

Ive ordered from this location many times. Usually all is perfect: rapid delivery (30-45 minand food as good as expected (5 ⭐️ )With my last order (Jul-30I had a bad experience. It took about 1h40 min to get the food. Obviously it was cold. Hope its just a one time problem and all will remain as good as before (1 ⭐️ )P.s. the delivery guy (an old gentlemanis really amazing.

Look, its very very standard fare, but its a full meal for two for 20 bucks. It is what it is, and thats a cheaper, faster meal than at McDonalds that doesnt make you feel quite as bad. Fairly tasty too!

Took chefs special ask if I could get the thigh waited a good 4minutes saw driver take orders and fly off then got mine fries werent hot chicken so so was old chicken the drumstick was dred over heated that means old chicken...Come on man dont give that to a customer keep it to make Sandwiches dont serve an overdone chicken leg will never go back to bad used to order 1a week when working dental clinic and always good Time changes will go to St-Hubert Express corner Lasalle&church always Delish there even take out

If I could give 0 star I would. Ordered online May 8, 2023 3:23pm. Order arrived and was missing an item. I called the store and spoke with the woman who answered and explained what was missing. She said she would write it on the bill and there would be a credit for the next time. I asked her what bill as everything was done online, she didnt explain that she tracked the bill by the phone number. I asked her to confirm the details and she answered "Oh my God" and provided the details, didnt allow me to speak again and hung up on me. I called back, she never answered from my original number. I called from another number, she answered and I asked to speak with the manager, she was so rude and asking me for what. I said to speak to the manager, she kept saying for what. I told her to speak about the bad service. She said that he was in the kitchen and I would have to call back after 7pm and hung up on me again.I understand it is a busy day, it does not give anyone the right to speak so condescending to a customer. If you cant handle the job, maybe look for something else!

2 hrs later and our order never came. Never again! My two children were so upset 😞

Food tasted great.I just want to say that the person working yesterday I think her name is Elizabeth is just an incredible human.The line up never ended the phone rang non stop she was alone (which needs to be recrified no human should have to work in these conditions. Au coq you were losing lots of business because of short personal. Raise your payShe was smiling, work so hard so kind what a professional being. Anybody I know including myself would have left or lost their mind.She needs a raise:)

HORRIBLE - ordered from here on Uber, 45 mins later, past the delivery time I had to call the restaurant to be told 1my order hadnt even left yet 2there is a 2 hour delay - which of course nowhere on the app it tells you this and 3they have no way of knowing when ANYTHING is delivered due to their system. Stay clear, youre dealing with an amateur business, last time these rodents get my business. Good luck with your business model incompetents, what a garbage way to do business. STAY FAR AWAY FROM RESTAURANTS WHO DO THEIR OWN DELIVERY AND ARE NOT HELD ACCOUNTABLE TO ANY STANDARD WHATSOEVER.

Very busy . delivery over 1 1/2 so I went pick up waited outside for 20min .then waited inside 30more minutes.

Roast chicken is the world s most common meal, yet its taste is unique to each place. The Rooster of Verdun is a historical restaurant because its customers are faithful to it as I am. Particularly for its roast chicken, gravy and fries which are all traditional recipe. If you try it first you will probably do as I did and go back.

Its really disappointing to wait on hold since before 9:30 pm only to have the person take the line at 9:57 to say rotisserie au coq nous sommes présentement fermé pour la livraison and hang up on you when the website says open until 10:30pm. Honestly, its happening way too often and with the same young woman on the line. Obviously, they dont need to care about customer service. Id rather give my money to smaller restaurants that really need it 😃

EDIT... have added a star as I realize Covid is giving restaurants problems with staffing. Perhaps they could start a quality control check at the cash for missing items though. The restaurant wrote me an apology, which is nice, although I would rather have had the food I ordered and paid for!ORIGINAL: After ordering online for pickup and waiting for 20 minutes past pickup time when I got there, 2 things were missing from my order. Didnt know until I brought it home and too cold outside to go back. Disappointing. What we did get tasted good but I doubt if well be back. Theres other chicken places around to try.

Went here on a weekday and was 1 of 2 clients in the entire place. Ordered a chicken wrap and instead got a full breast with fries. Only found out once arrived back home to eat and didnt have time to go back to switch. Staff is rowdy in the back. In simple words, they dont care about the customers. Management needs to reevaluate their employees and their work ethics.

Excellent BBQ chicken. Best sauce of any of the BBQ chicken chains, second to only Chalet BBQ in my book.

I have ordered a chicken leg plate and received a breast plate instead. I only discovered their mistake after I started to eat the fries as they were covering the whole piece of chicken. I called back Au Coq to notify them of their mistake so they could make the switch but they wouldn’t make any exchange due to the fact that the box had been open and I had started to eat the French fries and it was past 8:30pm. The customer service offered 20% on my next order which I couldn’t careless because I will never order again from them. I just wanted a chicken leg and must I say that Im not difficult but when it’s late and you had a long day, it’s unfair ! No wonder St-Hubert is doing better and that where I’ll order next time!

WASTE OF TIMEJust wasted 5 minutes ordering from a menu that they left for my entire building (200 apartmentswhich is only 4km away from their location, to receive a call telling me that Im outside their delivery area and that they cant deliver. Ridiculous.

ordered 2 chicken legs with extra fries and onion ring order....got charged for the extra onion ring and fries but never got the fries....Manager argued on what was is the box.....for $2.99 worth of fries, they figured it was better to blame me for my order....2nd time I ordered and never got fries.....Last time ever ordering there....Jacques le coq from now on....Garbage food.....garbage service.....Just received an " Im sorry I wasnt happy reply... sorry... and to contact them and hope I call again".....guess they didnt read my original message.....I WILL NEVER ORDER THERE AGAIN!!!.....not only will I never order again....my friends and family will never order again.....they all have the same problems with terrible service and food quality.So save your insincere apologies for someone else...More than enough other GOOD restaurant choices available!!

Best chicken I’ve had in Montreal but theirs a catch. You have to wait extremely long periods of time to get your order. They almost always forget something and they will credit you for next time. Wish they would fix their issues

Horrible delivery service. I live 500 meters from the restaurant and it takes well over an hour before it arrives. The coleslaw is always hot. I wont be ordering anymore.

Many years a customer but no more. Staff are too young and lack of experience management inexistant. Food is cold. At the Verdun location they dont believe customer should be served hot meals and really dont care about quality service. NOT RECOMMENDED EVEN if you are starving!!!!

I ordered 8 breast and 4 legs online, I received a call in the next minute to give me an idea of how long it should take if I want them to deliver the food. She told me that I would be way faster if I could come to pick it up. Everything was perfect!

Absolutely worst service everSo we start off with placing an order online, we wait about an hour for this order but it never shows up so we call a place and they tell us that the order is on the roadFast forward another hour and the food still has no shown up. We wait and wait for about another hour and we finally call the manager of the place and he tells us that they don’t deliver to our hotelNobody in the past about 3 hours decided to mention this, we complain and he tells us that he is sending the order.Nothing has showed up at this point, until about 5 minutes later it shows up and the food arrived cold and disgusting, we refused to take it because what should’ve taken the driver a 13 minute drive took him an hourThe manager says he’ll send us another meal free of charge but we are still awaiting this one and I presume it will either not show up or it will take another hour to show up.Completely disappointed in this. I had one of the worst experience ever in this restaurant. While I was waiting for my order (who took very long), one of the delivery guy bump my car by opening his door. My girlfriend saw it and told me. I talked with the owner of the place and he started to accuse us of being liars while raising his tone. Even the manger saw it on the cameras that the delivery driver actually open his door on my car but the owner silent him. The only reason I put one star and not zero is because of the manager who was very understanding about the situation. I messaged au coq on Facebook and they never returned my message.Very disappointed about this place and this franchise.

This restaurant is streamlined for rapid service. I was in and out in two minutes with my order. The staff are so much better equipped to handle a high volume of orders over Chicken places nearby.The food was incredible, crisp and fresh fries. Juicy chicken and the bonus was the ‘slaw. It was all perfectly executed and my mouth is watering thinking about it now. This food truly is a piece of Québécois and Canadian culture, I feel lucky to have eaten it and look forward to returning.

My favourite is onion rings, it was something like Indian pakora.I go for a walk daily on the way to beach, when I was returning back in the middle of the way Au coq will be there, I try myself not to go to Au coq but my love on onion rings will take me inside. I ate only onion rings and fries there both are really awesome. I can give Aucoq onion rings are best that I ever ate.

Ordered food at 7:45 via uber eat, did not received food until estimated arrival time which was 9:20. I called at 9:30 to ask where is my food. They just said delivery guy left. But they did not know when the guy left and when it will be arrived. I called twice after. They did not pick up the call. 11:00, still No sign of food so I canceled my order. I wasted my time to wait my food with hunger lol. Do not order food from here.

We ordered delivery at 8pm and was estimated to arrive around 9:20pm. We called the restaurant at 9:30pm and one of the employee (who spoked 0 englishsaid we should get it shortly. It was never delivered. Such a disappointment. I will never order anything from this restaurant.

This morning, I ordered online for a scheduled delivery at 7:15 PM and it never came. I called and the person who picked up said "You should have gotten a call... Were not delivering downtown today. All online orders were called back to inform them". No call was ever received and thats completely ridiculous that the online system would accept an order only for the store whos given the order to refuse it without proper notice. I am going to avoid ordering from Au Coq, in the future, because theres no guarantee the food will ever get to me. St-Hubert can have my business.

Delivery was slow; it took over 1h45min to be delivered. Since it took so long, everything was obviously cold when delivered.The chicken, sauce and coleslaw was tasty.The Ceasar salad came as a small container of lettuce, croutons, bacon bits, with a package of Ceasar dressing on the side.

The food used to be very good, but lately the sauce is either tasteless or too spicy and the chicken is so salty, I could not finish my portion. Also portions are smaller and the quality of meat is worse.

Used to be an amazing place . Food was delivered quick hot and tasty. I use to order from them at least one a week and even sometimes more. Now the wait time is completely nuts 1 hours min and we are not that far away. Food is now delivered cold and even worse pink chicken. Yeah that s right food is no longer cooked thoroughly . The fried BLT used to be my favorite. Never again. Skip skip skip. Anywhere but there for your chicken in Verdun. Also uncooked bacon. What the heck happened to this place.

We placed an order online for 2 chicken Caesar salads waited over an hour to receive two salads with no chicken in them! Called the resto was told they would send us two new salads again waited an hour called multiple times to find out where our food was to a rude receptionist and an even ruder manager the food never showed up so we wanted a full refund at this point and the guy said sorry the driver is busy delivering other orders and if we wanted a refund we can get it tomorrow! I got in my car drove to the place in a matter on 10 mins and demanded my money back they didn’t even apologize. I’m shocked at how disgustingly unprofessional they handled the whole situation don’t ever order from this place save your money!

Been going there over 40 years and the service has slowed down to a standstill ... Tonight we were 2 customers in the restaurant and I waited 24 minutes for a poutine that anywhere on the planet could have served me in 24 seconds!And I have no clue why they push you for tips now. They do nothing at all but slide your box to you, not offering you a glass of water or apologizing for the wait and they dare to even suggest a tip!?!?!

Not they place for a comfortable family meal as we had hoped.The two (disinterestedcashiers were answering calls for delivery, handling pick-ups for take-out orders, *and* taking dine-in orders. This bizarre set-up caused me to wait over 10 minutes just to place my order.I ordered 3 meals: 2 chicken burgers with fries, and 1 kids quarter-chicken meal. It took over 20 minutes to receive my food, and when I asked why, the cashiers said it was because "the burgers take longer to cook". Really?! Because chicken burgers shouldnt take 20 minutes in a fryer...The food was adequate, although I prefer the flavour of St-Hubert Chicken sauce. Frustratingly, the "combo" doesnt include a beverage (just a main and fries).I wont be visiting this location again, nor any Au Coq.

My favourite Chicken place. I love the food here and at Bennys. Their sauce is to for. A little pricey depending on what you get but worth every cent, in my opinion. The only downer is this particular AuCoq is either pick up or delivery. You cant eat there. Well in the summer on a nice day you can eat outside. But thats it.

We ordered as a group and were given the 10+ discount without even having to ask. The chicken was delicious. There was some confusion about delivery zones but even so delivery time from ordered was very quick.

I ordered a club sandwich with a poutine and asked to get brown chicken in my club (for a delivery). When I got my food, I noticed they put white chicken instead of brown chicken. And im one of those person who hates white chicken meat because its dry as hell!So I called the place, and they sent me a new club with another poutine as a replacement for the error! Really that is what I call good service!I was happy to finally eat my club with brown chicken meat 👍🏻👍🏻😭😭😭

The last 3 times i order there i waited more then an hour for 3 poutines same thing again tonight i called at 9h47 and now its 11h15 and still didnt receive anything and that with asking before if the waiting time was long tonight and they told me no...... Im mad and wont call back there again. Ill call poutine from metro pizza instead who deliver in 15-20 mins props to them.

I had high hopes for this place...My first time ordering tonight and Im so disappointed. I feel like I am eating a kids meal that I paid 16$ for. The portion is minuscule compared to other places and for the price I cant believe they serve this. Not to mention they charge $1.50 for an extra thing of gravy, which by the way is probably the worst part about this meal. Its so salty and lacks any kind of flavor that makes me want to believe this is gravy. The only reason why I didnt it one star was because the delivery was fast and the chicken itself is quite delicious. But I feel robbed.Order somewhere else that gives proper portions and not kids meals.

I ordered a chicken breast. It arrived soon,but the order wasnt complete. When I called to ask for the extra gravy I had ordered, it never arrived. The chicken was good, the fries were so-so, Ive had far better, and the gravy was rather tasteless. Altogether a rather unpleasant experience. I will be looking for another place to order chicken

Called for delivery. Food was outstanding, so figured Id leave a positive review in light of all the negative ones. Delivery guy was super nice too. Bottom line, maybe the location isnt all that (Au Coqs never are), but for your quick poutine/chicken/ribs delivery, dont hesitate.Note: I cant rate the "Decor".
