Atlantic Beach - Beach in San Juan, Puerto Rico
Atlantic Beach in San Juan
Description
Nice and clean not crowded just an issue with the $20 to rent a chair. Seriously? But overall a good beach.
MoreNice beach. Crowded but still good. You can rent :Lounger: $5 per loungerUmbrella: $10 per umbrella
MoreNice beach, touristy, hotels near by offer chairs and umbrellas, vendors roaming around. Waves are super choppy so watch out and be careful.
MoreLots of water sports, families, dogs. Was pretty windy and do not recommend going in the water if you are not a decent swimmer as the waves can be strong. Enjoyed the visit!
MoreBeautiful beach with soft and warm sand located right outside the resorts. Definitely a fun beach to be in if you love waves but BE WARNED:These waves are not kind. I got caught with a foamy white haymaker to the jaw for not paying attention and it knocked me flat on my backside.PLEASE BE CAREFUL! This location is known for having dangerous rip currents and if you venture too far from shore you may very well not be able to get back. If you are planning on going to this beach be realistic to your swimming ability and make sure you are aware of the waves and the current for that day.If you are one of the crazy ones who like getting ragdolled by waves at beaches this is a top pick.If you are traveling with those who are not adept at swimming, small children, or do not want to deal with rough waves I recommend Escambron Beach just west of this location. There are rock formations out in sea that block the rough waves so that beach is more suited for swimming and relaxation. This beach is basically a fist fight with Poseidon.
MoreAll beaches are amazing in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
The fresh breeze winds of the open seas, the relaxing sounds of the ocean waves hitting the shore and turn around to see an assortment of hotels and restaurants just waiting to be experienced. Its an over all clean and comfortable beach anyone can come out to enjoy.
MoreThis is considered condado Beach as well gorgeous area
Ahhhh take me back! The sands of San Juan Puerto Rico was EVERYTHING! Wonderful vacation spot!
MoreVery nice beach.
Very nice. Be careful for the waves. I can stay @ this beach forever.
Arrived to SJ at 330am, drove here and slept on the beach until we were able to check in. For sure would recommend should you find yourself in a predicament like ours.Watch out for people twerking at the ocean at 6am however...wildSunrise was nice
MoreBeautiful beach to take a nap on after a flight. The sunrise is excellent at this location
MoreBeautiful beach but not for swimming. Visitors, please, take precautions. This beach has a lot of waves, currents and rocks. I live in PR, several people have died here. Some days is calm but most of the time the waves are strong. Its good for walking at night and chill during the day but be advised. Observe the waves before entering, check the conditions on internet, etc. I would recommend you to go to Ocean Park or Isla verde instead. Enjoy the island!
MoreI love my Puerto Rico , Relaxing !!!
Beautiful beach but be careful of the waves.
I love this beach because there arent as many people as Ocean Park, Condado or Isla Verde. Small but definitely a gem
MoreRough sea but its great for surf
Beautiful beach, busy but peaceful. Clear, forceful water. Narrow sand but it’s great
MoreThe treat of staying at a Condado hotel. Clean and not over crowded. Beach chairs and umbrellas are already set up for your enjoyment!
MoreI love this beach is so close to my house love the waves, except the currents are sometimes strong and dangerous
MoreThe surf and views are amazing. The waves come fast so there is precious little time for wading. The beach is crowded and the gay section is a bit stiff and unwelcoming. Choose your spot carefully and it is a good place to visit.
MoreBeautiful beach that is clean and has big waves!
I spent the morning at this beach with a free front-end and it was delightful. The sand was super soft and it wasnt crowded at all! Ill definitely return.
MoreNice clean beach with soft sand and great views surrounded by a variety of hotels that cater to all types of vacationers. Good place to get out in the water. A nice variety of ice cream and coffee nearby as well!
MorePretty view. Chairs for rent. You can set up as close to the water as you want. Parking was a hassle but my wait paid off and got a great parking spot.
MoreAmazing place for family, very clean beach and clear water. The waves were great but i do suggest watching the little ones they can get a little strong at times.
MoreBeautiful beach! One of the more crowded ones, not ideal for swimming this time of year because of the rough waters, but worth a visit regardless! Next to Condado where there is plenty of restaurants and shops to visit.
MoreWide and quiet, good sand.
Great for body surfing and boogie boards
Perfect for the view. Lots of chairs and umbrellas (for use of hotel residents, but outsiders can rent them). Took lots of cute pics. The ocean gets deep QUICKLY. Two steps and you’re at mid body level water. There are A LOT of high waves, so if you’re coming to swim or with children I advise you use extra caution.
MoreSoft sand and it is a public beach. I got 2 chairs and umbrella for $20. Beautiful spot.
MoreThis is a very nice and clean beach within walking distance of a bunch of local and fast food dining options! The water is just beautiful and the vibe is great! This might be one of the best city beaches I’ve ever been too. Check it out!
MoreThe beach is beautiful! It’s the people!! DO NOT TRUST KRIS OF KRIS TOURS HE’s a CON ARTIST AND A SCAMMER! He was allegedly taking myself, my 6 months old baby and 15 year old sister to Culebra and El Yunce. After ridiculously driving to Ceiba to catch the ferry, he told us to “hold our place in line” while he parks the car. At this point a part of me was skeptical so I told my sister to hold the line and I will park the car with Kris. He then decided to “wait with us in line” as he proceeded to “leave the car” once I got back out, he said he forgot his sunglasses in the car, went back and drove off with a fraction of the money he was “going to charge for the tour”. Here is a picture of him and his car. I filed a police report at Ceiba.
MoreNice public beach with flags to indicate the suitability of swimming. Plenty of space. Gentle waves. Warm sea. Safe.
MoreNot sure who, if anyone is responsible for the area. Showed up after noon and they where collecting seaweed. Shouldnt this be done already?? Beach was otherwise clean and for the day and time, empty. Would visit again if I was staying closer
MoreIts cute beach to check out
Beautiful ocean views, not crowded at all especially for Cinco De Mayo
Very pretty and clean. The sand is nice.
Not our favorite beach, but its good for an afternoon salt and sun therapy session. Sometimes crowded, sometimes a little dirty with dead seaweed washing onshore, but the city does a good job keeping the litter under control.
MoreGood and wide sandy stretch, not enough facilities, like showers or change rooms, you must be close to your hotel. The bathable public parts are rather small and therefore dense. It is not as sceneic as one would expect from a Caribbean beach, as down town is in its vicinity.
MoreSoft sand, strong currents and waves usually. The buildings give you nice shade without needing to rent an umbrella. However rentals of chairs and umbrellas are available. I liked it because it is so spread out, so it didnt feel too crowded. Drug stores are around the are to get last minute sunscreen, water, etc. Restaurants are all around the area for a quick bite
MoreNice Beach but the waves were too strong when we were there.
I love this beach. Beautiful water, soft sand. It’s awesome to splash around in the waves right in the middle of the city. It’s busy enough to feel lively but not crazy crowded. Easy to walk to
More1 of the best beaches in p.r. just wish they had public bathrooms. But the sand is nice & clean.
MoreBeautiful! The first beach we were able to visit in PR. Its actually called Condado Beach . I believe the hotel just in front of this stretch is called the Atlantic Hotel. Either way, we had a great time.
MoreGreat location and very scenic. Its very wavy and windy, if you dont know how to swim dont venture too far.
MoreNice beach conveniently located near alot of services and food/drink shops. Looked clean and well maintained even after the hurricane (were there march 2018).Worth a stop of you want to spend some time at a simple beach that has easy access and nice sand.
MoreIm not sure why this beach isnt rated higher, its great! Pretty wavy, but that adds to the fun of jumping around in the ocean. The Ben & Jerrys nearby is top notch. Picturesque. Great beach!
MoreReally nice beach here. Great place to relax and enjoy the sun
