Atelijer Meštrović in Zagreb

This is a small but beautiful museum with some of Maestrovičs work.

Небольшой музей расположены в особняке. Приятный внутренний дворик со скульптурами. С работами Ивана Мештровича до этого не сталкивался, но концепция заботы матери во многих его скульптурах меня тронула.

This atelier was also the house of one of the best croatian sculptors, Ivan Mestrovic. It is a two story house, but regrettably, access to second floor is limited due to damage caused by the earthquake that hit Zagreb on March, 2020. Lobby and first floor take you back to the end of the XIX century and the beginning of the XX century. Sculptures are located just next to the house, in the central garden and in the central entrance yard. I am not an art expert (rather, an art enthusiastand I dare to say that it is not easy at all to reach this degree of mastery using three different raw materials: stone, wood and bronze. I think that the leaflet given with the ticket should include a brief description of Mestrovic life and creative stages, in order to understand better the historical moment in which he made his works. In any case, a very nice visit, museum deserves at least one hour in order to fully contemplate properly every statue. It is located in the upper part of the city.

Das ist das Haus mit Atelier, im Zagreb, vom grössten kroatischen Bildhauer des 20. Jahrhundert. Geboren bei Split, wo sein monumentales Haupthaus, heute Museum, steht. Hat im Wien studiert und ist schnell ein Referenzname der Bildhauerei in Jugoslawien. Hat monumentale Arbeiten in Zagreb, Split und in USA wo nach dem 2. Krieg gelebt hat. Ein hochwertige Nachfolger vom Michelangelo und Rodin, hat perfekt Bronze, Holz und Marmor beherrscht und seine monumentale Arbeiten sind sofort erkennbar.

Obavezno obići kad ste na Gornjem gradu.

Predivne skulpture, veliki, najveći naš umjetnik, predivna kuća,prostor,ambijent ....ali još moramo pričekati obnovu 1.i 2.kata stradalih u potresu.

Životni i radni prostor jednog od najpoznatijih hrvatskih umjetnika.

I like this museum, not aSculpture person before but definitely its more than normal sculpture. Entree is only 30 kuna, its a lovely house and with well label sculptures and you can see the talent and work of Ivan mestrovic. Good one.

Another dream fulfilled. Its great humanity has such a talanted artist.

메스트로비치의 조각은 인체를 있는 그대로의 모습으로 평범한 순간의 일상의 모습을 담아내기도하고 조금은 어려운 자세를 취함으로써 인체의 다양한 모습을 탐험하고자하는 작가의 시도도 느껴진다.작품도 멋있지만 아틀리에로 사용하는 건물이 아주 오래된 집이라 걸을때마다 삐걱거렸지만 오히려 작품의 깊은 느낌을 살려주는 듯해 이또한 좋았다.

Nice but lacking soul. Sterile. Expected personal effects and memorabilia from the great master, instead it is a mostly empty building with displays of sculptures and drawings.

Quite a dull exhibition of excellent quality sculpture. Could do with contextualisation to make the most of the work.

Beautiful building and really interesting staging of the sculptures in the park and (new?glass gallery.Beautiful pieces of art exhibited. However, its a pity that there is no more information about the artist and his work and influence.Plan 45 min to 1 hour for the visit.

Beautiful house in the old town which is filled with various sculptures with no explaination.You are given a poorly photocopied map with a plan detailing each piece only in terms of its name, city and year.Our visit lasted 10 minutes. If you are particularly into Mestrovic sculpture from the early to mid 1900s then you would probably appreciate it.

Atelijer Ivana Meštrovića smješten je u gornjem dijelu grada Zagreba. Stalna postava nalazi se u njegovoj obiteljskoj kući koja je ujedno i muzej. Vodić nam je detaljno objasnio njegov život i njegova prekrasna djela. Uz kuću se nalazi i mali vrt u kojem su također izložena njegova djela i još bolje dolaze do izražaja.

Es un museo impresionante, es importante dedicar varias horas por la cantidad ingente de obras y por la calidad e importancia de sus autores. En el vestíbulo destaca la obra de uno de los más famosos escultores croatas Ivan Mestrovic: " La Mujer en agonía". Es una obra espectacular. Visitar este museo ha sido una experiencia inolvidable. Ivan Mestrovic es uno de los artistas croatas más destacados de la primera mitad del siglo XX. El Atelijer Mestrovic forma parte de los Museos de Ivan Mestrovic, escultor de reputación internacional. La colección permanente (300 esculturas de bronce, piedra, madera y yeso; dibujos y litografíasse exhibe en lo que era la casa familiar, que el artista regaló a Croacia. En la construcción y decoración del complejo participaron, además de Ivan Mestrovic, Viktor Kovacic, Drago Ibler, Josip Zanko, entre otros. Situado en la parte alta de la ciudad de Zagreb, el Atelijer Mestrovic destaca por su monumentalidad, lograda con: el color brillante de sus paredes exteriores, el piso extra y la puerta de entrada. Incluye un atrio, un estudio, un jardín y habitaciones. Por tanto, la antigua vivienda e espacio de trabajo de Ivan Mestrovic es en la actualidad un atractivo espacio donde se exhiben obras espectaculares, que le confieren un innegable carácter conmemorativo. En el vestíbulo-atrio es donde se exponen las esculturas. Se trata de un espacio semi-techado, que resulta atípico si se compara con la arquitectura de la Ciudad Alta. Destaca un elemento constitutivo: su elegante pórtico con cvolumnnas.

Uz damu vodiča koju smo imali saznala sam o našem umjetniku još mnogo detalja iz privatnog života koji su mi bili nepoznati, likovna djela još bolje objašnjena, a posjetioci puni novih dojmova. Dolazim ponovo. Atelijer pruža uvid u kiparski i slikarski dio rada našeg renomiranog umjetnika. Isto tako pojavljuje se i mnoštvo imena koja su kroz svoj umjetnički rad usko povezana s Meštrovićem.

Come ogni residenza dartista vale la pena di essere vista. Mi ha particolarmente colpita "la Storia della Croazia" con la lapide con iscrizioni in glagolitico in grembo. Una potenza unica. Come, peraltro, comunicano una altera, pacata potenza tutte le sue donne accovacciate in vario modo! Una piacevolissima visita.
